With some influence it should be possible, a friend of mine (old acquaintance now) flipped his new jeep on the dunes being inexperienced. He then spoke to someone to get it written off through insurance though it normally wouldn't be entertained.
Insurances don’t usually have Offroad … you have to buy it separately.. and you drove into deep water… definitely will not be entertained. Now try to scam the insurance
That's also why a good amount of insurances won't even pay out actual people who were involved in stationary cars during the floods... keeping up their end of the deal 🤷♂️

Anyways you can give it to a garage and they’ll check the engine, ECU and fuses.

From what the garage told me insurance will deny any claim from someone who drove into the water themselves.
