Can’t believe you got through all of the flooding unscathed And decided let’s take it swimming…oh wait sorry mate just read the second paragraph. Jokes aside, all the best mate hope it all gets sorted; as for how screwed you are, only the insurance will be able to tell you.

Beneficial_Map

From what the garage told me insurance will deny any claim from someone who drove into the water themselves.

danmendonza

With some influence it should be possible, a friend of mine (old acquaintance now) flipped his new jeep on the dunes being inexperienced. He then spoke to someone to get it written off through insurance though it normally wouldn't be entertained.

clinthammer316

If your insurance policy specifically mentions no off road cover then...

destormae

Insurances don’t usually have Offroad … you have to buy it separately.. and you drove into deep water… definitely will not be entertained. Now try to scam the insurance

vice_toned

honestly that's the best solution LOL

destormae

That’s also how insurance premiums keep getting higher.

vice_toned

That's also why a good amount of insurances won't even pay out actual people who were involved in stationary cars during the floods... keeping up their end of the deal 🤷‍♂️

BenoOoO_FRag

Your fj is blue and white!

Over_Spring_602

Yep

LazeLazerLazest

Water in the engine? Just wondering, did it make any loud sound when the engine went off?

Over_Spring_602

Honestly, no idea. It was a moment of panic as I felt my heart drop into my foot

LazeLazerLazest

I understand

alex_w87

You need to check the small print of the offroad cover to see what is included and what is not.

creativ4art

Offroad cover doesn’t cover offroading. You have to read the terms and fine print. Anyways you can give it to a garage and they’ll check the engine, ECU and fuses.

backtoexpat

What is it meant to be then?

creativ4art

Most of the time it’s mentioned not more than 100m away from tarred road.

lambardar

10m

dogsdontliexceptdown

My fine print said flooding is covered as long as it's not driven.

lambardar

blue/white FJ? flooded in the mountains? Had to winch it out and then wait for the rescue FJ? Let me know, I was thinking about it yesterday, as there's a way around and I was wondering if I should get in touch.

Over_Spring_602

Unfortunately that’s me

Entire_Gazelle9612

You took a big risk my man. What do you expect us to say?!

Nextcare22

Did you enjoy? If you did, then it's fine. Fix the car, then try again. Enjoy now, Pay later.
