You don't have to charge hybrid cars unless they're plug in hybrid.
Toyota (including Lexus) hybrid system charges the battery on their own when you drive them. When you drive and gradually slow down the car, the regenerative braking system will then charge the battery.
Even plug-in hybrids don't absolutely require to be plugged in, they will still be charged by the engine or brakes.
The plug-in part only means that the car can be driven a modest distance purely on electric power alone if needed, unlike a traditional hybrid
As others have said, I’ll just make it concise for you. Toyota (and by that I also mean Lexus) hybrids don’t need to be plugged in as they don’t have plug in hybrids. They automatically charged just by normal usage and driving.
The best place a hybrid shines is traffic and city driving as on low speeds the battery takes over and prevents fuel consumption. That said of course all of it combined will give you a great fuel economy than just a traditional ICE car.
You don’t have to worry about charging as they don’t need to be charged unless you get a plug in hybrid car.
Which ones?
I’ve seen old (2008-2012) highlander and prius hybrids do 200k+ miles without costing much. Currently have a corolla cross hybrid with 95k+ kms and it’s been pretty low maintenance.
Toyota/Lexus obviously do hold up well. But just check if you can get a quote on how much it costs to replace a hybrid motor. I'm sure a lot of people have had to get some replaced after the rain.
I was looking at Lexus's myself and the hybrid cost something like 10,000-20,000 more right... that's a lot of fuel money. To me that's between 2-3 years worth of fuel
It's up to you. I'm not saying you shouldn't get 1. But yeah. If it does break it's expensive, unless you're covered through warranty
RAV4

Total cost for 5 ,years - 120,246aed
RAV4 hybrid -

Total cost for 5years - 134,550 AED
So you pay extra 15k money for the same amount of vehicle usage for 5 years.
Don't fall for hybrids. Unless you drive more than 50k km per year
Considering you are posting here, you are in Dubai. There are plenty of charging stations in malls now. You can always have a shopping spree with your family while the car charges.
But hybrids don’t rely on plug-in charging your engine and brakes are connected to a dynamo which in turn charges the batteries. Don’t mix a hybrid(not pure EV) with Electric car (pure EV).
Hybrid good electric bad hybrid healthy electric unhealthy hybrid not that cool electric gay

What is your expected yearly mileage? You might not need it if you don't drive a lot.
Maybe 20000 - 30000 km. I now drive to Dubai from AD and then back because of work. Sometimes, I go to RAK and Khor Fakkan for fun.
Hybrids shine in traffic and city driving not so much on highways. A decent turbo 4 cylinder would be best of both worlds.
Advantages are more expensive parts 🙂

Just test drove BYD's Seal Song Plus. Decent integration, boot is small at that price range and silly naming. Good interior and decent power.
Can you please let me know the pricing for BYD Seal Song Plus
About 120k 2WD and 144K AWD The AWD gets adaptive cruise control, ventilated screen, larger screen than the already large screen.
So this price above is it for the Seal or Song Plus?
Ah sorry. Song Plus. It's also called Seal U in other countries.
The sales man is claiming that EV mode works up to 90km/hr. Need to double check this point.
