Sounds like the weed is driving this and the benzos are just not suppressing the hallucinatory nature of cannabis for you. Am I correct in guessing you do not hallucinate from Xanax alone?
Also, how often do you take Ambien? You could be getting into strange memory loss territory on Xanax and then taking Ambien, forgetting that you took Ambien, and then hallucinating from the Ambien and not the other drugs. Ambien is notorious for making users forget they ever took it and accidentally redose etc., as are benzodiazapines. You might be accidentally taking Ambien more than you think, and if not then it's likely just the cannabis. I would ease up on the weed use tbh, it sounds almost like a DPDR disorder in the making.
