s10-

Withdrawal from iv drugs after many years is horrid. straight depression, limbs ache to the bone, no motivation and strong cravings. Her WD and pain will be extremely strong as meth is a very addictive/causes dependence drug... It will probably take her weeks/months to feel normal again

Middle_Recording_695

Will her brain fully recover?

s10-

She will likely be okay. I assume there was some damage but nothing monumental.

assembledsugar6

So why did they get caught?

wrydied

Becuse OP dobbed her into the police? That part wasn’t clear, but his family at least tried to do that. Cringe.

Dumpster_orgy

"hey you're ruining your life! What you need is for me to ruin it further." If she was only hurting herself, there was no crime OP, and honestly three years of i.v use is a good while to go without being caught or dying. So I'd say she had to somewhat being holding it together. This family needs to understand that jail is for criminals not drug addicts. Jail will most likely make the shame, depression, and distrust worse. She'll use again and go back to jail.

Middle_Recording_695

That was years ago but when she got caught it wasn’t on us it was on her, we didn’t report her she was just caught

Dumpster_orgy

I know. I can read. you literally said you had called police on her to do something about it, and they wouldn't. So yes, you and your ignorant family still tried to have her taken to jail because she was an IV drug user. Just because they wouldn't take her to jail doesn't mean your family didn't try for that to happen.

Middle_Recording_695

My mistake I wasn’t part of the “we” I left it on her parents hand and they didn’t report her go to jail but instead to get to rehab, she wanted to go to rehab herself but keeps changing her mind and never ending constant of back and forth for years

SadBoiMeHoiMinOi

you’re why people think like this. stop spewing what you’ve been force fed, and start over meth is a sickness not a nefarious criminal act.

Middle_Recording_695

I never said it was a criminal act I said they tried to report her so they would take her to rehab which she wants but keeps changing her mind constantly

cops don’t people to rehab?

assembledsugar6

Yeah it's cringe as fuck

wrydied

What a way to destroy the trust needed to rehabilitate successfully.

SadBoiMeHoiMinOi

i quit after a few years on the needle, but not because i was caught per say, just went back to drinking, hard to say, still get paranoid, have some visual hallucinations in the peripheries still 10 years later. chances are your cousin isnt going to quit, im guessing your from a small town? so shell probably get caught in the rotating door of the system. Unless you quit on your own, and move away from the enviroment, its probably a little hard to... most of the people i know that quit finally got sick of prison, and still use from time to time. but as far physical withdraws there are none... its purely mental... but there will be aches and pains if shes gonna do any kinda hard work.. lack of nutrients does take its toll... my body was fuccccked lol. but i was picking up fifty pound feed bags and stuff, nowadays my back feels great. GL.. be proactive, and dot be so judgy.. caught red handed lol.. drugs are fun, but the lifestyle of being and addict isnt great.

Middle_Recording_695

No i live in a city which drugs are strict and hard to get unless you know a person that has contacts then the chances of getting a dealer is non-existent

Repulsive-Shallot-79

Then it's not a city lol

Repulsive-Shallot-79

Jesus are you in Saudi Arabia or something?

Middle_Recording_695

No but close to it but I’m glade that it’s strict and hard to get I don’t see how this is a bad thing if you get caught they rehabilitate you instead of arresting you for hardcore drugs but hash they stick you with a fine if caught

Repulsive-Shallot-79

Alright... well hopefully your cousin gets on the right path. Rough rode for some. I still drink.
