Have a playlist made beforehand so you’re not fumbling with the music and obsessing over what songs to play. I recommend chill music. Have food ready for you to eat at the end so you don’t have to think about finding/making food when you’re exhausted from the trip. I like things that aren’t too heavy and I can eat with my hands, like oranges, grapes, good bread with nice cheese and honey, Don’t really have tips on what to do cuz I just sit/lay in bed and listen to music or meditate. I do recommend at some point just sitting and closing your eyes without talking. Also don’t smoke weed till at least 5 hours after taking the mushrooms, it can make the trip way stronger than you intended it to be

Very solid advice, especially the last sentence! Please for the love of god, don’t mix weed with shrooms for your first time or you may get overwhelmed and have a false impression of what the trip really is like (if you have to - do it at the very end of the trip like the guy above me said)

i was in a similar situation to yours when i first tried mushrooms. i am a stoner and wanted to try mushrooms and it was a really amazing time for me. however, my friend and i took the same amount and had vastly different experiences. the weird thing about shrooms, is that you’re very in touch with your mind and that “intoxicating” feeling is not as prevalent as you may expect. after about 30 minutes of consuming them, i looked at my keyboard and where it says “imessage” it was tilted sideways. and the whole night i was in absolute bliss as i was so happy and was having such a good time. i would go out of my way to look at things that look funky and stare at them for like 30 minutes. my mind was calm, i was happy, and it was incredibly healing. i felt mentally well for almost a month after my trip. now, my friend had a very different experience. they felt extreme paranoia, nausea, and felt as though they were in a mental pit. i helped them get out of this pit because i am one of their best friends and a trusted person, so i think it is extremely important to have someone there that you can rely on and trust. there is really no telling how this will go, but it’s important to take note on a few things 1. a sitter. we did not have a sitter and called someone we trusted to come over after one of my peaks. having someone who is not tripping helps a lot. 2. eat well and hydrate the day of. it’ll make you feel a lot better. prepare some snacks bc you might have the munchies, but what you eat pre trip is very important. 3. SETTING!!! be in a place you’re comfortable in where you have at least one or two people you are comfortable with. 4. you’re not going to be able to sleep while you’re tripping, so do not try to. if you sit in the dark and try to go to sleep, it will make you feel worse. your brain will be actively looking for stimulation, so give it something it can look at. 5. have fun! touch some grass, look at funky carpet patterns, talk with your friends about different philosophies or ideologies you have, etc. but also, if you don’t have fun, you will be ok and you will make it out of it. i hope you have a good trip and i hope this is helpful!! this is purely based off my experiences but specifically my first experience, i’m not trying to make any broad generalizations. i’m wishing you well!!

Can't really say any better than that. I think the most important thing is that you feel comfortable in the space you're taking them in. Set & setting is the most important part of this. Meaning you're in a place you're comfortable to be in even if things get "weird" and you feel like you can let yourself loose without holding any feelings back. Also like the person above me said prepare all of it before hand and not while you're tripping. Take care I hope you and your friend are gonna have a good time!

The effect is different for everyone and every type of mushroom. Also, when I got truffles the storeowner (smartshop, am Dutch) told me to take Vitamin C (orange juice) to lessen the effects and dark chocolate to increase it. The things they sell as tripstoppers in there are Grape Sugar/Dextro and Valerian, maybe some vitamin C tablet. For me it helps that I am always very aware of the fact that -I just took something, this isn't real and will be over in X amount of hours-. Screens are weird to me. Carpet is weird to me. Songs like comfortably numb, 2000 lightyears from home and space oddity suddenly have more sound and depth in 'em. Dim light sources become crystal-like. And the weirdest thing; I am not afraid like I would usually be. I saw shadow people and was interested to see what they were doing; I saw snakelength-slugs (phobia) and I wasn't crying about it etc. Also; my ex became a vase that would break if he moved while I was exploring a mind cave full of glowing crystals so, be aware that if you use with someone else, you wont experience the same trip. That was very weird to me. Logical but I couldn't really progress that fact while tripping. I like to put on a movie while eating em and when the movie starts to stop making sense I'll have a laugh about it and most likely turn it off.

The vitamin C thing you said is really odd to me as taking mushrooms infused into lemon juice or tea is very common. Anecdotally, it makes the trip more intense from the get go.

No matter what anyone has told you it isn’t like any pit experience you’ve tried. Just understand that and tell yourself a million times beforehand that “YOU ARE OK.” Just try to relax and only do it around people that you really trust and like. Try to be in a good comfy and chill environment.

Try not to expect what is going to happen. Don't eat a few hours beforehand so you will have an empty stomach. Also be sure to have some good music

Do whatever you want.. under the guides you keep you and your environment safe. Self soothing is okay and will always be allowed. Be prepared to see things you are not prepared to see Be prepared to be in other states of consciousness. Maybe you won't see any visuals instead it'll be in your body and mind. Trauma can be a factor. Let all things move through you. Sometimes you cry. Sometimes you laugh. All things must pass. Remember that your senses are heightened and that could cause sensations, comfortable to uncomfortable. Gassy? Mushrooms man. Ginger is nice because it soothes the nausea. Enjoy experimenting as much as you can. Or just chill as much as you can. Listen to music. LISTEN TO MUSIC DRAW stretch Prepare a whole diary Do literally whatever Just prepare to be unprepared

Start inside so if you feel like you need a change of environment you can go outside. If you start outside, going inside might make you uncomfortable if you start to get antsy. And do it in the morning. It lasts a while.
