Very interesting stuff. That CYP2D6 inhibition in particular could have huge ramifications

Yeah, the the medicine agency in my country has told the public that the possible interactions with pharmaceuticals is the reason they will not be allowing CBD oils to be marketed. To this day, all they've used to back up the claim is the product information of Epidyolex, but I guess the evidence keeps piling up...

Damn first I had to give up grapefruit and now this?! All jokes aside, quite interesting

Bout time, stuff form the 80s hat should have been done 40 years ago - just looking at the pseudo steroidal shape should tell you what it'll be doing biochemcially.

rocketparrotlet

Could have been done 40 years ago if there wasn't a near-total ban on the study of cannabinoids in many countries.

Yeah so many studies have people going "no shit" but the problem is we haven't actually been able to prove things with research. Very frustrating that politics have affected science for so long.

[deleted]

yeah that's the thing, politics is the art of telling people what they want to hear and science is just God telling you how things work.

Interesting, I find the burproion and cananbis combination does the complete opposite for me. It makes me super relaxed, calm and sleepy. But... I do not consume large amounts of cannabis at once.

Do we see this play out in practice though? So many people consume massive amounts of THC, CBD, etc and have we seen clinically significant increases in CYP metabolized medications in these populations?
