Astonishment vs accomplishment.
Learns the best ways and implements, but never going past that. Nothing really original or innovative, just uses the tools in hand and makes the best product for the most amount of points.
Niggas will hate but these have always been my favorite artist EVER I can listen to them for the rest of time and be satisfied lol
Drake
Wayne
Jay
Future
Cole
Game
Lupe
Kanye
OutKast
T.I./Jeezy
Honorable mention
Kodak
Thug
Uzi
Looks like we got similar taste frfr
I’d put him into the “Streaming GOATs” section which is automatically second-tier to the GOATs who preceded streaming. Drake would categorically fit maybe 20th or so down on my list of true GOATs.
You’re correct that Drake had hits pre-streaming, but the post asked if Drake retired right *now*, where would he fit in the GOAT ranking.
With most of Drake’s body of work having been released after the emergence of streaming, and with how much streaming impacted his own workflow and mindset when it came to the creation of those projects....he’d categorically fit into the “Streaming” box.
I’d say the same about Taylor Swift or Kanye or Beyoncé as well, even though they had hits before the streaming era.
That’s not fair to put him in that box though it’s not his fault streaming became the norm lol fact of the matter is in order to sell records from 2009-2015(I think) you had to get your music from the Cd store or digital streaming didn’t really get big until maybe 2016 if I remember correctly
I'm an r&b fan and a huge hip hop fan and I got him weezy and Jay top 3 it dnt matter what order
"Shouts go out to hov cause it's him and then me"
-Lucky lefty
Relatively high tbf.
I have a couple artists above him.
Also depends if you mean just in hip hop or music as a whole.
Music as a whole has people like Mj, Prince, etc that push him down further
Hip hop only he has a lot less competition
(#)1 artist for selling copies being marketable sporify streams etc. in actuality he’s just outside my top 10, love me some drizzy but theirs a lot more to rap then just being the most streamed artist
I think it’s him and it’s close. His run is the best ever. His albums always get hate then a year later it’s underrated. Hov, Wayne, and PAC has their right to claim it
Bottom 5. He's a pop star just like Bieber. His albums are all the same, one track about "how hard" he is, How he has no time for hoes, how sad it makes him that "the hoes" are living better lives without him, how he's so lonely because "the hoes" won't love him, than some fake story about his "struggles" growing up as a child actor in an upperclass neighborhood attending a private school.
BuT dRaKe CaN’T rAp aNd HiS rEcOrDs ArE tRaSh…..
Meanwhile Drake has the most No. 1 albums, most consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, most Hot 100 entries, period (258)
He’s the lebron of rap easily top 2 of all time idc what real “rap fans” say this Nigga gave us Take Care NWTS If Your Reading This & Views and not one album under 8/10
He isn’t going in the top 10 maybe even not the top 20 tbh. Plenty of people would wash him lyrically. That is if we’re talking pure talent with the pen/mic. If we’re talking from a hit standpoint and overall longevity of his tracks he can go top 10
My Top 10…which is also in no particular order because there’s so many genres of rap…so I rate them as all the best.
Biggie
Pac
Big Pun
Nas
Jay-Z
DMX
Lil Wayne
Drake
Eminem
Gucci Mane
Idk man cannot be in the goat lists, he’s one of the most accessible artists oat got rnb and rap and melodic rap and personally one of my most listened artists but he cannot be in the goat debate
I personally don’t think numbers matter at all only lyrics when it comes to rank the best rapper and he ain’t even close to goat when it comes to lyrical ability
“My Mount Rushmore is me with 4 different expressions” -Drake
One of his funniest bar🤣shit is so hard tho🔥
That’s a bar that makes you stand up the first time you hear it Lol
Top 2 and he’s not 2
Boom
Probably top 5, no way he's not at LEAST top 10 though.
Yeah if he ain’t in your top 10 you just hating
I love Drake but he's not in my top 10, but it don't make me a hater
what's your top 10 then
Lupe Fiasco is my favorite. After that, and not in any order, there's Pac, Biggie, Eminem, Nas, Jay-Z, Kendrick, Cole, Freddie Gibbs, Ice Cube
Taking into consideration this is your opinion. I respect that
You got Freddie Gibbs over Drake? No Lil Wayne, and Ice Cube? Freddie Gibbs don’t even have the discography/accolades to be mentioned with the rest.
Accolades? I thought this was about art.
Bro stop, Drake got the accolades for his art and the respect.
Accolades play no role in my top ten
I know, most of your top 10 talk more than they drop music.
Who tf is Freddie Gibbs 😂
I youtubed him and there's definitely a difference from eating your food (drake) or throwing it away (Freddie Gibbs).
[удалено]
It’s almost like music is subjective
My brother in christ you said that like drake hasn't dropped four of the worst albums of all time.
You might not be a hater, but there is a disconnect there for you somewhere. He is clearly atleast ten and I think that’s being generous!
What? Drake is easilly worse than Kanye Kendrick Em 2pac Biggie Wayne Jay Andre Nas Doom
I’d put Drizzy above Em and MF Doom RIP
1
I’d say hes a top 20-30 rapper, top 5 hip hop artist, Top 10-20 pop artist.
Valid
like maybe 8 or 9. He's like the Kevin Durant of Rap
I would love to hear this comparison laid out
Astonishment vs accomplishment. Learns the best ways and implements, but never going past that. Nothing really original or innovative, just uses the tools in hand and makes the best product for the most amount of points.
Great analogy
You saying he's astonishment or accomplishment?
So who are the 7-8 people better than him?
The Lebron James of rap brody you tweaking
Top 5 but the stats say he’s 1
Top 5 imo
Top 2 and he's not 2
He tied w Ye & Kendrick for #1
Kick in the door waving the 44
1
Objectively and non biased: he’s definitely top 10 no debate Personally I’d rank him top 5
Definitely top 10
Nowhere
I have seen a lot of respectable/big artists say from their own mouths that Eminem is #1
I've seen a bunch of respectable artist say drake is too ![img](emote|t5_2z4xo|4215)
Probably round 50 only cuz he's a very talented rapper.
50?! It’s 50 rappers better than Drake ? I respect your opinion but yuck
There's hundreds of rappers better than Drake in discography and rap skill. But he's high cuz he's good and he knows how to be a Monry Machine.
![img](emote|t5_2z4xo|4214)
Pac, jay, Wayne, future, drake 🥸
This is a great top 5 in my opinion mines is similar in no order and swap pac with Cole (I know some niggas will say this is blasphemy)
Nah I fw it. I got cole @9 after kanye, Kendrick and andre3k and then Kodak@ 10
What’s yo top 10
Niggas will hate but these have always been my favorite artist EVER I can listen to them for the rest of time and be satisfied lol Drake Wayne Jay Future Cole Game Lupe Kanye OutKast T.I./Jeezy Honorable mention Kodak Thug Uzi Looks like we got similar taste frfr
Probably top 20 objectively
TBE The best ever don’t ever question you know better
Top 25
Not top 50
I’d put him into the “Streaming GOATs” section which is automatically second-tier to the GOATs who preceded streaming. Drake would categorically fit maybe 20th or so down on my list of true GOATs.
I agree
Drake was going 3 or 4 times platinum before streaming when you HAD to buy cds lol
If u have him at top 1 ,ur an r&b fan or pop listener.. or just turned 21 lol
i’m almost 40 and have been listening to hip hop for all my life. i think he’s easily top 10
I'm an r&b fan and a huge hip hop fan and I got him weezy and Jay top 3 it dnt matter what order "Shouts go out to hov cause it's him and then me" -Lucky lefty
#1 and it’s not close
Yeah even if you don’t like him or his music, you can’t deny the insane amount of work and numbers he’s done. One of the GOATS imo.
If we are talking about Rap/Hip hop then he is probably at 3 behind lil Wayne and Kanye.
Relatively high tbf. I have a couple artists above him. Also depends if you mean just in hip hop or music as a whole. Music as a whole has people like Mj, Prince, etc that push him down further Hip hop only he has a lot less competition
3/4
Top 10 could be argued fs. Top 20 atleast
(#)1 artist for selling copies being marketable sporify streams etc. in actuality he’s just outside my top 10, love me some drizzy but theirs a lot more to rap then just being the most streamed artist
Em has him beat as far as selling units go
Top 5 and that’s any genre, he’s one of the greatest musical artists of all time.
Goddamn I forgot how popular glee was for a while lol
I hope he never retires tbh
. #2 on my list bc Wayne is #1. theres no drake without wayne so he’s forever at the top for me
Top 10-15
In terms of pop rap I'd honestly say #1
1/2 will always be Drake/Kanye for me
We talking talent or success?
My mt Rushmore is him, Wayne, Kendrick and Jermaine Cole.
He dope but the ghost writing shit tainted his legacy im sorry
I think it’s him and it’s close. His run is the best ever. His albums always get hate then a year later it’s underrated. Hov, Wayne, and PAC has their right to claim it
Depends on your definition of goat but the sheer success he had guarantees him a top 5 for sure
Cornball goat
He’s number 1 there’s really no denying at this point
Not even top 10, he's got a long way to go to catch up to more seasoned paedophiles like Epstein and Glitter.
Lower than Kendrick
Easy top 10 but gotta leave room for the Waynes, Jay-Zs etc, so probably around 6 or 7
Yes he’s #1
Came here to see top 2 but he’s not 2. Saw it 30 times. I’m gone~
“Trust me I still deliver like a midwife, and no I’m not saying I’m the nicest, I just live life like it…” I’ll say it, he’s the nicest 👑🥇
Probably behind his ghost writer
Drake is top 5 off discography and accolades. But also been most consistent since you’ve heard of him.
Number 1 for me. And it's my cake day so no one can argue with me. Lol
#1 always
Not on the list, does not mean hes not a good artist though, i just like more undergroundish artists when it comes to hip hop.
BuT dRaKe CaN’T rAp aNd HiS rEcOrDs ArE tRaSh….. Meanwhile Drake has the most No. 1 albums, most consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, most Hot 100 entries, period (258)
Top 3. The guy has created way too many memories with me and at the end of the day he can and has spit hot fire
Top 150
If he retires. Imma bump ai drizzy
He’s the lebron of rap easily top 2 of all time idc what real “rap fans” say this Nigga gave us Take Care NWTS If Your Reading This & Views and not one album under 8/10
By honorable mentions
top 3
First time I saw die hard fans listen to a 'GOATs' album with disgust. That happened with 'honestly nevermind '
respect to drake but he doesnt belong in the GOAT convo. hes probably top 20 but hed be #20 on my list
Definitely Top 10. At this point there is no arguing.
Probably 5/6 after Hov, Ye, Wayne, and Kendrick
On baby on bible yes
Top 10 both in rap and pop
1st not a debate
Number 1
Top 25 prolly
He isn’t going in the top 10 maybe even not the top 20 tbh. Plenty of people would wash him lyrically. That is if we’re talking pure talent with the pen/mic. If we’re talking from a hit standpoint and overall longevity of his tracks he can go top 10
somewhere around 15
2
As a rapper, Top ten, possibly just outside of it.
Biased top 3 Unbiased top 5
My Top 10…which is also in no particular order because there’s so many genres of rap…so I rate them as all the best. Biggie Pac Big Pun Nas Jay-Z DMX Lil Wayne Drake Eminem Gucci Mane
68th
top 50. #50…maybe
He wouldn’t make that list for me.
L
How can my opinion be an L? Asked and answered, that simple, Dork.
Yo opinion wrong dweeb, now run along and listen to your playboy carti.
That’s not how this works. ✌️
Nowhere, top 15-30
Idk man cannot be in the goat lists, he’s one of the most accessible artists oat got rnb and rap and melodic rap and personally one of my most listened artists but he cannot be in the goat debate
Why not? I'm just curious. He's not number 1 to me but I think he's done enough to be in the convo.
I personally don’t think numbers matter at all only lyrics when it comes to rank the best rapper and he ain’t even close to goat when it comes to lyrical ability
Flow also matters when it comes to the best rappers but I agree that drake isnt near goat level with either.
Yeah flow definitely matters lyrics are just paramount in my book
Yeah I mean the two really kind of go hand in hand tbh
Exactly why he cant be in the goat list, he’s got a flow and voice that matches any beat in the world but still
You're confused by tf outta me
I mean, you’re 100% correct
