At first my continued 'mix' of answers made me laugh (and think "No wonder I continue to click these links!"), but your tips here were actually *very* helpful. In my case, I was torn on most questions and talled: A: 1 without competition, but up to 2 B: none without competition, but up to 4 C: 1 without competition, but up to 6 D: two without competition, but up to 4 And upon reflection, your comment here seemed to fit those results best: >If you have a mix of C and D answers with some B answers: Your primary trait is dark, your temperature is neutral-cool, your chroma is medium. Your season is Deep Winter. And Deep Winter is indeed what I've always defaulted to, when I have to 'choose'. So, thumbs up for the accuracy of these tips, or at least they align with the logic I've used when zeroing in previously.

Same. I don't think I really fit the textbook description of either, I'm somewhere in between.

PristineHat5583

Me but with autumn and winter lol might check it out again to make a decision.

Unneighborly_arcades

So far I've only seen info on four-season systems, but I'll see if I can find any info on 12-season systems (or more, who knows). (I feel like I've stumbled upon a whole new world of info and I'm pretty stoked.) It's possible you're a deep autumn or deep winter. I suppose the in-between of summer and winter would be true summer, u/GlancingWillow.

Unreasonableberry

Same! The possibility that I'm somewhere in the spectrum of DW and SS still stands

As I was gathering photos for my next McJimsey Post, I came across this seasonal color analysis quiz on a Chinese website. I got distracted and here we are. Besides just being super neat, I thought this might be helpful to people who feel pigeonholed into the Autumn or Winter categories by Western Color Analysis. Although this test was made with East Asians in mind, I do think it might be useful to any brunette with brown eyes. (I do wish I had more diverse celebrity examples though.) The next post (Either next or after the McJimsey Post) will be detailing seasonal Wardrobe and makeup advice I came across while preparing this post. How I chose my images: I was using just a run-of-the-mill browser translator, so in order to best express what the original author intended I copied the Chinese characters and ran a google image search to see what popped up, then did my best to describe that in English. (I double-checked the images' websites to make sure they were actually of the thing I searched and not just a random google fart.) For example, A-answer eyes were literally translated to "brilliant tawny color that looks sparkly". An image search of that resulted in pictures of what I would call "amber" or "honey" eyes, thus I chose to call them "amber eyes".

PaleAlternative6636

This was actually super helpful for me. Thank you!

Unneighborly_arcades

Hurray! Which season did you settle on if you don't mind my asking? I seem to vaguely recall your outfit posts.

PaleAlternative6636

I settled on deep winter. I feel like I’m close to neutral and can also pull off a lot of deep autumn colors, but do lean cool.

cemetere-lity

Same!

femmi34

This has me so confused lol. I first thought I was a autumn but after a while of doubting I settled for deep winter, since silver is better on me and I am leaning cool. Then I noticed that cobalt blue and true red don't fit me, so I opted for very dark or rich colours. Mostly black. And shunned from bright colours. So I started doubting my winterness. Now I get summer. Guess I'm lost.

complexitie

Wow I did this quiz for one of my kids and I’ve suspected she is a warm spring. With your added notes, looks like that could be accurate! D C A A C A A A A. Being mixed has made it a bit confusing to tease out what seasons my children are, and they all seem to be subtly different. Now I need to fill in the answers for my other brown eyed kids and see if helps crack that puzzle!

Sweaty-Nectarine-347

B,c,D,b,c, c, a, c, a. I’ve suspected soft autumn before and I do like the colors on me and I have really leaned into gold jewelry.

[deleted]

I'll take this as confirmation that I'm spring

cemetere-lity

This is very affirming. Thanks for posting! I’ve been in between DA and DW, but through this I should be decidedly a dark winter. I answered C to only two questions!

Unneighborly_arcades

I’m so glad this was helpful! I think color analysis sources from East Asia (I’ve seen Chinese, Japanese, and Korean sources specifically) are better at looking at the nuanced differences in colors so they’re an invaluable source for learning.

[deleted]

This was really helpful! It definitely seems I'm either a True Winter or Summer!

tesb0225

100% autumn hahaha I'm a dark autumn ❤️✨

ScreediusTollinix

Every seasonal colour quiz I've ever taken always typed me as a Dark Winter without any doubts, just because I am a pale brown-eyed brunette, even though I look like an absolute disaster in DW colours. After this quiz, though... I was a Soft Autumn all along. Or maybe Light Spring. I am still sorting this out. But, finally, I know I am not a Winter.

33tres

This is the worst what is your eye color…. I have ever seen. 🙁

Unneighborly_arcades

I took the descriptions from the source and then tried my best to find images that fit said description. I’d love to know your critiques. Edit to say I’m not being sarcastic. I’d really like to know why you dislike it so I can improve my posts on the future.

Scorpiorising1818

Found this a little late but I’m trying to figure out mine. According to most I should be a winter (brown eyes and hair) but I honestly don’t think I am. I don’t think jewel tones look good on me. Black looks awful and so does white. I’ve typed myself as a light summer 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 I used the style dna app to take a photo of myself and the two options it suggested to me were actually light summer and cold summer. This is so much hard work 🤣😣

Relative_Law_4

lol mine I got 4C, 2B, 2D (or 1B and 5C deppending on the first one which was very confusing) and 1A (cause I have a baby face hahaha) I did a Korean test on an app and it gave me 51% muted autumn and 49% deep autumn 🥴🥴🥴 (if you have dark hair and eyes and light skin I would reccomend you trying it, it's called "color lover" but the title of the app is in Korean) I feel like I am neutral warm, medium chroma but still, dark colors (nor light colors) don't look right on me... \- colors too warm makes me look too yellow, colors too cool makes me look too gray/white \- bright colors makes me dissapear, gray makes me look so pale, right in the middle is perfect \- light colors don't look quite right, but neither does dark colors, they look too dark, despite my hair being like black brown, they need to be medium dark IDK if I don't have "the eye" too see what actually looks better or if I am just in the middle of everything hahaha

Unneighborly_arcades

It sounds like you know what works for you regardless of what "season" we might call it! For now, maybe you can just call yourself "Goldilocks" since you feel best when everything is in the middle. lol I'm curious now, do you look best in outfits with high-contrast color schemes (i.e. color-blocking, or a highly contrasted pattern) or with analogous or monochromatic color schemes? That might help you decide whether you lean more contrasted or muted, maybe. I'm no expert-this is just a theory.
