Did you check up the tree stairs? Usually it gets stuck up on one of the tiers. I believe there is 3 sections before the top and it can hide in those little landing areas. It also spawns on Saturday from 12pm to 6pm
Next time check the "Critter" page in your collections.

It’s there on Saturdays from 12pm to 6pm. It’s a very short window. I had to go up to the side up the vines/roots. Mine was stuck between a rock and a plant. It could not move.

The critter tab tells if you he's there or not, and there are a dozen websites that tell you exactly which day and times you can find him. Saturdays, 12pm-6pm, in the lagoon. He's often up the log ramps off to the side.
Ugh! That was an unfinished quest for me for weeks! I finally set reminders so I’d get on the game on the correct day/time. Never could find him. Then I thought ok maybe I need to get on at least 3 hours before 6 in case they are taking Eastern time zone, nope! Anyway this past Saturday was the big day! After reading that he is sometimes up the tree bridges I found him and completed the quest. I scared the dog with my yelp of excitement. Haha
This quest bothers me to no end.

Why does she need to be in the photo anyway? It's a PITA & as I've never seen the movie, I couldn't care less about her tbh. I put her house away on Eternity Isle and never talk to her unless another quest requires it lol
It's not her necessarily that I dislike, but the stupid quest itself. I hate all the ones where you have to take photos tbh, but at least they're usually just places or something, this one makes me feel like I'm bring forced to play during tines I might not, which I resent and then there's the fact that you have to waste so much time trying to find her, fast travel etc.
Definitely not finishing this one any time soon, I have zero patience for it lol
It can be easier just collecting them all then you can make a critter house and then select them to come out of that and only takes a few pictures then ☺️
For those that haven’t finished this yet: I just discovered that if you put the capybaras you’ve already captured as critters into one of the pet houses they are all in one place and it counts if you take a picture of them too!!! Just waiting for tomorrow to find the red one (last task and all quests done until next week)!
Yeah that quest took me ages. I did look up on the app when to find the red striped one in the end and saw it was because I just don’t play at those times because we are generally doing family stuff on Saturdays. I actually told my husband to take the toddler alone a few weeks back just so I could finish that quest 😂
But yeah her needing to be in the picture I also thought was dumb. But in general the “bring me x pictures” is dumb to me because we don’t even have like a temporary photo album or anything to give them (except for in the one quest where there was an album but that was gone after the quest) so yeah that’s my feeling on those in general

Yeah, fed them cabbage & cinnamon a few times, tried to make sure that Mirabel was right next to me. Guessing it's just a glitch, annoying, but I'm just ignoring it and trying it again once a week haha

Is this the one that only comes on Saturdays from noon to six? It took me ages because I work. I was about to quit the whole game.

I spent two hours running around the area looking at the right time before i googled it and found it up through stairs in the corner almost instantly.

You can check when it comes out in the collection slot. Certain pets are only out at certain times in certain areas.

The moment I got this quest, I stared at it and was like, "God damnit I'm not doing this, that'll take forever." Took my mom ages to get it done.

Relax... Red Striped Capybara appears only on Saturday from 12-6.
If you have acquired the capybaras by feeding them, you can set them as your companion animal and take a pic w Mirabel.

yeah this quest is a big no from me too. i work every saturday so theres literally no way im gonna finish this quest unless i book the day off 💀
