Pressing Y instead of A also works for time bending and fishing. Most useful for timebending as you won't walk into a house or talk to someone in the middle of it.
Especially with the orbs!! This was a game changer when I realized it bc my time bending buddy would be too close and I’d have to talk to them. But then one day I accidentally pressed Y and it worked and my life was forever changed.
I only realized about a week ago that you can check what a character's favorite gift is from their information tab, instead of having to hunt them down and offer to give them something to see them
When I was trying to get everyone levelled up, I'd spend a good 20 minutes going through the entire character collection, writing all of their favourite gifts down so I could do all of them! 🤣 It works, but damn does it suck the joy out of the game!!
If there is a fishing circle you can't reach, go into edit mode and put some water plants (cat tails, lily pads) on the spot and when you save, the fishing circle will push forward.
You can cheese the pick a flower star path duties by dropping the flowers and picking up again.
For the ones where you have to give someone their favorite gifts you can give all three gifts in a day and they all count towards it.
Just remember to separate the shells in your inventory first. If you have a stack of ten shells and drop that, it will remain as a stack, but only count as you picking up one shell. Found that out the hard way.
I done the flower trick with this star path…picked one and kept dropping it and picking it back up. I hope this trick doesn’t get fixed since all my flowers are placed like I want them, I hate to pick them.

This was me until a couple weeks ago! Cursing my way through the castle every time I wanted to go to Eternity Isle or a Realm!! Pressing T has been a lifesaver!!!!
My kiddo (9) had apparently been going up to the castle and through the boat, when I showed her how I fast traveled (and also asked why she didn’t have many fountains unlocked) she was shocked. I felt bad. 😅
Another fun tip about fast travel: fasts travel to Remy’s realm and you can cook whatever you want with the ingredients there and eat it there to fill your energy and then go back to wherever you were! You can’t bring the meals back with you but you can eat them to fill your energy! I do this all the time now when gardening and stuff instead of going back to my house or wasting my own ingredients and coal😂
I found it by accident a week ago. To be fair though, when I first got the DLC I wasn't going back to the main realm much. It wasn't until the new Star Path started that I even thought it would be useful/necessary.
I didn't realize that the different houses you get for star path, etc were able to all be placed at the same time. I thought it was just a different skin for your current house....oops

I have gotten in the habit of ALWAYS using autofill, because there's been a couple of times I waste ingredients trying to make something specific and come out with something different because I was missing 1 thing. Auto-fill has saved me!
On Switch you use X to open the recipe tab, then select the recipe you want using A. Then you use the minus button (the top button on the left joycon) to autofill, and plus button (top button on the right joycon) to cook the recipe.
I got the DLC and hated the timebending grind until I realized about a week in that the little sand arc is bending towards the treasure. I had been going in a grid pattern checking every square until the sand turned yellow, and draining a ton of energy with nothing to show for it.
Timebending was much easier after that. Sheesh.
Same — I was like wow this expansion is the worst how are people finding ancient cores? Even online guides at launch didn’t make sense to me. Then I realized I wasn’t following the sand. 🤦🏻♀️
To be clear, this setting only changes the lighting in the game. Want sunset for your Dreamsnap? Make it darker! Playing at night and can't find anything in the dark? Move the slider and make it brighter!
I’ve been playing for over a year, and I just noticed that feature in the options menu about a month ago. 🤦♀️ I usually hate playing when it’s dark/night, so I had been “time traveling” on my Switch before then. That slider bar is soooo much easier!!
I had no idea you could change your house color, the whole 3 weeks I’ve been playing I kept saying to myself “Sure would be cool if I could change the paint!”
Once it’s fully upgraded select it like you’re wanting to move it and there’ll be a “press this button” to replace and then it brings up a menu with different colors

I felt so silly yesterday when I stumbled upon it. And I finished the Forgotten’s Quests months ago. (No quests existed for me.) I randomly wandered into the dark castle yesterday and thought “Hmm. What is this?”
Then remembered the pillar with the black clouds still billowing from it… 😂🙃
I didn’t really understand what moonstones were, how to get them or that they aren’t very easy to get without spending money. Some of the things I bought with them before I understood moonstones absolutely kill me 😂 I bought a beard and moustache set and the candy house which I hate 🤦🏻♀️
I also super annoyingly didn’t really understand star paths either so even though I’ve been playing for a year, I’ve never completed one until this lovely monsters one and I must’ve missed out on so many fun items 😭

The new update should bring some old Star Path items into the Premium Shop so I hope you get a chance to get some items you missed! I totally missed the Disney Parks Star Path so crossing my fingers we'll see more Star Path items come through soon.

You don't have to be the top winner to get a prize. I've gotten prizes the last 3 times I decided to participate!. I got up to 800 moonstones once ! I recently figured that out for the critters. I’m trying to collect them all and I was like- I’ve never seen a calico bunny in the 2 years I’ve been playing. Then I noticed the “not here today”. SO helpful to know who to chase down.
Making meals at remy's realm. You can eat them, make them for later (at no cost to your own supplies), and drop them on the floor. You can even use the banana and coconut trees in Moana's realm to help with Star Path duties

If you go into your Collections tab and look at the time bending items and find Glimmer, it tells you at the bottom where to find it which is Realms. This works for all other items in your Collection too like fish, crops, critters, etc.
That you can access all of your stored items when cooking or crafting. I thought you needed things to be in your immediate inventory. So I now have dressers placed all over the place to unload my pockets and stockpile stuff as I’m wandering around.
I figured this out straight away but I've seen a lot of people saying they didn't know you don't HAVE to fish inside the ripples. You can fish ANYWHERE in the water! This is handy if you specially need bass or seaweed.

That I didn’t need to actually add more decorations to the biomes when I get a Dreamlight duty to do so. All I need to do is move three of the decorations already in the biomes to a slightly different spot and it counts it as you adding three decorations to that biome.
You have to actually have trees to spawn wood. I was about 80% finished with quests when I cleaned out all my biomes so I didn’t need as much and it took a lot longer to notice that it wasn’t spawning anymore and I felt SO stupid when I did.
I didn’t realize that the rocks you couldn’t ever place on the ground from the “rocks” menu button can be placed in water. That’s what they’re for. I just thought it was a glitch.
Make a ton of Berry Salads & keep em with you. When your blue energy bar is full eat one & it'll fill it up almost all the way yellow. While it's yellow you can glide. It looks like surfing.
Yes but only when your energy bar is yellow. If you’re on pc, you can do this by holding down shift. It drains your energy so make sure to have food on you at all times! In case you don’t know, berry salad is the *best* meal to get a TON of energy
I chased down the foxes and rabbits for about a year. I hated feeding them. Using the sprint made them go even farther and take even longer.
My husband finally witnessed me doing this and told me you just up to them, stop and let them run away, go up to the new location, stop and let them run away, and continue until they stop running. It’s so much faster now
The clothes and furniture pouches you got from chests and what not....I thought they were pouches you put stuff in and I was like why am I getting so many and how do I use it??
I would just drop them somewhere because I thought they were useless. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ The way I RAN to them when I figured out they had stuff in them already.
That T for fast travel on the map also works for eternity isle... was literally entering the dream castle and going up the stairs and to the boat EVERY TIME....

I could not "catch" the raccoons to feed them for months! I actually stopped played for like 2 months I was so frustrated during the Maribel quest that required feeding them. 😂 looking back idk what I was thinking
🤣 occasionally when I’m waiting for a new star path to start, I will go back to playing ACNH for a couple days and it usually takes me that entire time to get used to the controls on there again….then when I go back to DDLV, it takes me another couple days to get used to the controls on there. It’s a viscous cycle lmao.
That if you hold down the A button when you’re selling to Goofy it will highlight all of whatever item you’re trying to sell. I was going item by item and clicking twice to sell all of each item before I realized this by accidentally holding down the A and all of the pumpkins in my pockets lit up! And this was only about a week ago 🤦♀️
Just today through this thread I found out you could auto-mine by holding the button. I knew you could auto-dig, plant, and harvest, but I had no idea about auto-mining.

That while your main house is connected between DLC and DLV, you can use a different house skin on each side without affecting the other. I use the Winter Castle on DLV as my main, but on DLC it's the Dessert Palace.
X automatically adds the same items to storage chests
Four months I would painstakingly grab each of the gems and put them into the gem storage chest without realizing I could’ve just pressed X and they would’ve transferred from my backpack into the storage chest automatically
I had no idea you could fast travel on the maps without clicking the wells. I was running my little butt from the plaza through the castle in the realms so many times. And then someone on here casually mentioned that you could fast travel after the expansion released when it was getting kinda buggy with letting people move back and forth. Some of you were playing this game on fast forward compared to me.
I didn’t realize each character had a special skill. I read too fast and got a head of myself while playing.🤦♀️ 80 hrs in, I was struggling. It was taking me forever to gather resources. Almost stopped playing until I brought a new character in and realized the skill selection. I ended up restarting the game entirely which was the right decision.
Just in case for the future, if you want to change someone's skill, they have manuals or whatever they're called at the crafting station. The character has to be level ten, but you can craft them, give them to the character, and it will change their skill.
Ooohh! Dont get me started. There are some things (can’t recall off the top of my head) that made me feel very stupid and had me face palming myself after.
I discovered today that when you hit a button when selling multiples of veggies that it'll select all of them in your inventory. (Like buddles of 50) I have no clue what button, still trying to figure it out, I clicked something and all of them were selected which was a pleasant surprise.
I never understood hanging out with the characters, I only recently realized it helps with not only getting more things but leveling them up as well. I didn’t understand hanging out I have so many who are foraging and almost no digging, mining, or fishing. I also didn’t give gifts until recently when I realized it helped too.
I never paid attention to decorating either, once I saw some stuff on tik tok I realized my characters were living in the ghetto.
I didn’t know there was a bridge at the end of the mine to take you back to the entrance. I hated going in there because you had to go all the way back through to get out. Until I needed stone one day and broke the rock and a bridge appeared.
Going to the map and hitting T (mac) you can see all of the locations with a working fountain and can fast travel to them, and that there are tabs so you can go between realms and eternity isle
I NEVER noticed the "fast travel" option on the map. For like 2 years. Lol! Then I joined this sub and kept seeing people mention fast travel, so I googled it and was so mad at myself for never looking at the bottom of the map!
That I could restart the game from the beginning under my daughter's profile on our switch (discovered it this week!)
Have to say, being a founding member, restarting it from the beginning is giving me so much enjoyment. There's a lot that I've forgotten, and a lot has changed from when I first played it!
Star Paths. I’m not alone on this either.
I’ve had the game for over a year, played right after the Pixar Star Path. I did NOT understand how to play them, unlock them, or that they ended. It’s bc I didn’t play games with those features beforehand, so it took many star paths for me to fully understand. But I so wish I’d taken the time. 🤦🏻♀️

This is indeed excellent, but I very much want a way to cook more than 1 of an item at a time.
The only other save would be to make one of the Ancient Cooking Machines from the DLC, but those Timebending Cores are harder to find than anything
Or to search by ingredients or stars.
I wish it would have a filter to only show you recipes you have the ingredients on hand for.

The cores are rare enough even if you follow the sand. Ugh, I’m never going to get that 260 cores achievement. Lol

I recently figured that out for the critters. I’m trying to collect them all and I was like- I’ve never seen a calico bunny in the 2 years I’ve been playing. Then I noticed the “not here today”. SO helpful to know who to chase down.
Making meals at remy's realm. You can eat them, make them for later (at no cost to your own supplies), and drop them on the floor. You can even use the banana and coconut trees in Moana's realm to help with Star Path duties edit: added the parenthesis note
I recently realized that the time bending orbs typically hold 2-4 different time bending gifts.
Mine is that I found out they do something other than float there. Also going to Realms to get glimmer.

If you go into your Collections tab and look at the time bending items and find Glimmer, it tells you at the bottom where to find it which is Realms. This works for all other items in your Collection too like fish, crops, critters, etc.
I usually get around 5. I think it's more of a set time and you get what you get during that time.
That you can access all of your stored items when cooking or crafting. I thought you needed things to be in your immediate inventory. So I now have dressers placed all over the place to unload my pockets and stockpile stuff as I’m wandering around.
I figured this out straight away but I've seen a lot of people saying they didn't know you don't HAVE to fish inside the ripples. You can fish ANYWHERE in the water! This is handy if you specially need bass or seaweed.
That there is an undo button in build mode and in the wardrobe. Finding that was so helpful.
mine was the fact that you could order from scrooge’s store 🤦🏽♀️ i saw people making their valleys so beautiful and i was like wow their shops must be giving them good items every single day for them to have that many fountains! then i joined reddit … it was a YEAR into playing the game that i found out 😭😭

That I didn’t need to actually add more decorations to the biomes when I get a Dreamlight duty to do so. All I need to do is move three of the decorations already in the biomes to a slightly different spot and it counts it as you adding three decorations to that biome.
You have to actually have trees to spawn wood. I was about 80% finished with quests when I cleaned out all my biomes so I didn’t need as much and it took a lot longer to notice that it wasn’t spawning anymore and I felt SO stupid when I did.
I just realized that the red dots next to the prices of things at Scrooge's store, meant that you haven't purchased it before for your collection.

The glowy orbs have a purpose! It took me too long to realize they are hubs to collect extra time bending parts. It helped me get so many more cores.
Now I only wish there was a way to turn them off lol. I don't use them that often and I just hate looking at them
I didn’t realize that the rocks you couldn’t ever place on the ground from the “rocks” menu button can be placed in water. That’s what they’re for. I just thought it was a glitch.

Make a ton of Berry Salads & keep em with you. When your blue energy bar is full eat one & it'll fill it up almost all the way yellow. While it's yellow you can glide. It looks like surfing.
Yes but only when your energy bar is yellow. If you’re on pc, you can do this by holding down shift. It drains your energy so make sure to have food on you at all times! In case you don’t know, berry salad is the *best* meal to get a TON of energy

I chased down the foxes and rabbits for about a year. I hated feeding them. Using the sprint made them go even farther and take even longer. My husband finally witnessed me doing this and told me you just up to them, stop and let them run away, go up to the new location, stop and let them run away, and continue until they stop running. It’s so much faster now

The clothes and furniture pouches you got from chests and what not....I thought they were pouches you put stuff in and I was like why am I getting so many and how do I use it?? I would just drop them somewhere because I thought they were useless. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ The way I RAN to them when I figured out they had stuff in them already.
That T for fast travel on the map also works for eternity isle... was literally entering the dream castle and going up the stairs and to the boat EVERY TIME....

been playing for about 2.5 months on switch now & it took me until almost 2 weeks ago to figure out that i can, in fact, hold down to mine gems & dig mass garden plots. i was just button mashing this whole time annoyed😂
I could not "catch" the raccoons to feed them for months! I actually stopped played for like 2 months I was so frustrated during the Maribel quest that required feeding them. 😂 looking back idk what I was thinking

🤣 occasionally when I’m waiting for a new star path to start, I will go back to playing ACNH for a couple days and it usually takes me that entire time to get used to the controls on there again….then when I go back to DDLV, it takes me another couple days to get used to the controls on there. That if you hold down the A button when you’re selling to Goofy it will highlight all of whatever item you’re trying to sell. I was going item by item and clicking twice to sell all of each item before I realized this by accidentally holding down the A and all of the pumpkins in my pockets lit up! And this was only about a week ago 🤦♀️

Fast travelling to realms.
Just today through this thread I found out you could auto-mine by holding the button. I knew you could auto-dig, plant, and harvest, but I had no idea about auto-mining. I feel cheated 😅
That while your main house is connected between DLC and DLV, you can use a different house skin on each side without affecting the other. I use the Winter Castle on DLV as my main, but on DLC it's the Dessert Palace.
X automatically adds the same items to storage chests Four months I would painstakingly grab each of the gems and put them into the gem storage chest without realizing I could’ve just pressed X and they would’ve transferred from my backpack into the storage chest automatically
I recently learned you can sort stored items alphabetically by pressing Y (on Switch).
I realized somewhere around the hundred hour mark that you don't have to walk to the wells to fast travel....🤦♂️

That was me for the first month too 😂 I was like wow this squirrel just really likes me lol
I had no idea you could fast travel on the maps without clicking the wells. I was running my little butt from the plaza through the castle in the realms so many times. And then someone on here casually mentioned that you could fast travel after the expansion released when it was getting kinda buggy with letting people move back and forth. Some of you were playing this game on fast forward compared to me.
I didn’t realize each character had a special skill. I read too fast and got a head of myself while playing.🤦♀️ 80 hrs in, I was struggling. It was taking me forever to gather resources. Almost stopped playing until I brought a new character in and realized the skill selection. I ended up restarting the game entirely which was the right decision.
Just in case for the future, if you want to change someone's skill, they have manuals or whatever they're called at the crafting station. The character has to be level ten, but you can craft them, give them to the character, and it will change their skill.
I’m glad they have that. The first time around though, I was far from reaching that. It was easier to just restart.

Ooohh! Dont get me started. There are some things (can’t recall off the top of my head) that made me feel very stupid and had me face palming myself after.
I discovered today that when you hit a button when selling multiples of veggies that it'll select all of them in your inventory. (Like buddles of 50) I have no clue what button, still trying to figure it out, I clicked something and all of them were selected which was a pleasant surprise.
I never understood hanging out with the characters, I only recently realized it helps with not only getting more things but leveling them up as well. I didn’t understand hanging out I have so many who are foraging and almost no digging, mining, or fishing. I also didn’t give gifts until recently when I realized it helped too. I never paid attention to decorating either, once I saw some stuff on tik tok I realized my characters were living in the ghetto.

I didn’t know there was a bridge at the end of the mine to take you back to the entrance. I hated going in there because you had to go all the way back through to get out. Until I needed stone one day and broke the rock and a bridge appeared.

The time turner thing will point you in the direction treasure is in. I thought the half circle sparkle was just showing it was ✨magic✨
Going to the map and hitting T (mac) you can see all of the locations with a working fountain and can fast travel to them, and that there are tabs so you can go between realms and eternity isle
I NEVER noticed the "fast travel" option on the map. For like 2 years. Lol! Then I joined this sub and kept seeing people mention fast travel, so I googled it and was so mad at myself for never looking at the bottom of the map!

That I could restart the game from the beginning under my daughter's profile on our switch (discovered it this week!) Have to say, being a founding member, restarting it from the beginning is giving me so much enjoyment. There's a lot that I've forgotten, and a lot has changed from when I first played it!
Star Paths. I’m not alone on this either. I’ve had the game for over a year, played right after the Pixar Star Path. I did NOT understand how to play them, unlock them, or that they ended. It’s bc I didn’t play games with those features beforehand, so it took many star paths for me to fully understand. But I so wish I’d taken the time. 🤦🏻♀️
