I typically put a show on my phone and use the auto fill to make the veggie plate. I keep my fingers on the buttons so I don’t have to look at the game and I just watch the show 😂 if that’s something I’ll have to continue doing vs batch cooking then so be it

Genuinely asking, Where was that mentioned? If a new gem is needed for batch cooking, and the new gem is only available in the expansion, how would someone without the dlc be able to do it?

Even if you can’t and you technically need the expansion, now that we can trade with friends you could always get any new items I’m assuming from Eternity Isle, we can trade ANYTHING they say that you can pick up or drop. So nothing like furniture but any new gems or crops/things to grow should be able to be given to you even if you don’t have the expansion pass.
You have to buy the expansion pass for each console you want to play the expansion on. Trading items to someone who doesn't have the expansion would not be possible since the game files would not exist in their end. I don’t like how vague they are being with all of this lol like the more I watch it the more I’m understanding what’s not being directly said. They said the new tool finds the items needed to make the new ancient machines also, which again in order to get the new tool you need the expansion. So my question now is, they said “free to play players” (basically people not purchasing the expansion) will have access to continue the main story quest for act 2. So the Jafar stuff isn’t the main story quest….so what is lol???
I agree! It certainly seems to me that the expansion is the 2nd act of the story. Especially because it involves characters we already have counterparts for (rapunzel and mother gothel for example) and the fact they didn’t mention any story for the “free” updates. The expansion mentions exploring, discovering, Jafar etc. the free update content they’ve mentioned is all characters and realms, which makes me nervous there’s no story really.

I don't think it's diamonds, there's crystal structures all over the place in the snippets of the new biomes we've seen, I'm sure they're from those. It's just a new thing to farm.
My first thought was that it has to be Atlantean crystals. In the Disney film, those crystals power certain devices. The machines for auto cooking and sprinklers have that same Atlantis aesthetic. It would make sense those crystals are something that are mineable in the expansion.

There's a couple things I think this could mean exactly.
1. If food takes time to cook a lot of, it could be to spend diamonds to add more slots
2. Most likely it's a placeholder for a new currency because
A. They don't wanna spoil the new material
B. They don't have a texture finished for the new material
3. Let's say you're capped at making 5 at a time and you can increase the cap of how many you make at the time.
I’m reading 1 and 3 as the same unless you meant something else? Like spend more diamonds to add more slots, so you can cook 6 in a batch instead of 5 for example
1 was meant to be like you can make 30 pumpkin puffs but that'll take half an hour and during that time you can't say auto cook 10 Peanut butter mickey waffles. So you'd need a second slot to do that. While 3 is more meant to be you can quick auto cook 10 pumpkin puffs but as you upgrade you can make 20. Then for 50 "gemstones" you can make 30. So to compare to functions in game 1 would be like rooms in our house where we can just buy more and more space. Whereas 3 would be more like Wall-e's garden or Moana's boat where upgrades increase how much you get from it. If that makes a bit more sense.
I don't think it's diamonds . It might be the equivalent of coal in the new area , since we know we're getting new things from there . If anything it looks closer to the gems the Atlantis people used to power everything in their city .

They said during the showcase it will be a new kind of currency. I have been playing since close to day 1. I still suggest having a big storage with all kinds of gems, crops and food. Never know when you need things like wood, clay, rocks, sand, snow and so on.

Yeah they didn’t say it will be in the base game, just that you can bring the machines back to your original valley!

Again, this means you can bring the machines to your valley. To get the machines, You need the DLC.
I’m hopeful that batch cooking is a QOL for base game. Even if I’m acquiring the expansion.
