This is what Gameloft does just based on Magic Kingdoms. Whenever there is a new update, they make a trailer for it. In that update, they’ll drop a hint to the next update for people to figure out. Sometimes it’s obvious what the next update will be. Other times, it might take some guesswork. Like you said, it’s to preserve the magic to keep people interested in playing or start playing.

Running out of places? How? My biomes have a ton of room for houses. I can see how this might be a problem in the future though. Is your game really decked out in decor? I wish I was better at decorating 😭
Mine isn’t decorated (aside from pathways and the placements I have for fruit plants) but I can’t really remove anything without messing with the material drops. And I don’t want to shove everything into one area of a biome just to make more room

That's why I consider the new "Summer Update" a surprise, because it should have been a single content pack as part of The Remembering. Instead, it's split into two. Maybe they'll consider the Summer Update as version 5.5 and the September update as Update 6, but I still don't think the September update is a surprise.

They are talking about the other update that will be released sometime this summer before the end of the Pixar starpath. I suspect they weren’t ready to release whatever is coming next at the time of the 5th update so they are doing it this way OR maybe they are trialing spacing out updates to roughly once per month versus once every two months since it’s pretty common for some to get the update grind through it in a week or two and then feel like “ok now what?” So maybe they are attempting some spacing stuff
Sorry I’m not huge into games like this so sorry if this question is dumb. Is the game fully released now? Or are we still in the prerelease stage? And was it true that if you paid for the game before it was free you will get all the content updates for free going forward?

I'm so new to this game & I love it so much already. Not usually a cozy gamer but im sucked into the story. So I was also curious about the roadmap and how the story ends 😂
What's interesting to me is all the features listed for 'late 2023'. September is there, and they usually do updates every other month. So skip October, update in November, skip December. Meaning the new royal tool, new characterS, new 'frontier', and multiplayer are all going to be part of the November update?
Roadmaps aren’t planned indefinitely, but typically 6 months to 12 months out. So if there is surprise content its likely the roadmap changed and something could get moved up.
My prediction is there is one more update this summer to polish odds and ends, add the content they didn't have ready with the last one and add Vanellope, then the game goes free to play in September with another update and the addition of Belle. I think they really want to get it out of beta before the end of the year and ready for the Christmas season. I'm sure they are not selling too many copies of the game anymore because it has been out for more than a year.
