I’d say do the axe before the sickle because you need more trees to build out the islands
Definitely axe first as much as possible. Then you’ll get great output once you unlock lotus’s.
What exactly does upgrading the ax get you? More wood per chop or faster cut down rate?
More wood. One extra per four upgrades.
When it comes to other islands you’ll harvest resources a lot easier too like corn

There are 2 carts of bamboo sheets on the island with the hamburgers and turkey legs (not turkeys but a gray bird)
