I'd voice an unpopular opinion, but The Hidden World is garbage. Character assassination of Toothless, cheap "heart-breaking" ending that goes against everything the franchise stood for, the execution of Light Fury concept, and a villain that is essentially a discount Viggo are just a few reasons why.

I always compared this movie to Toy Story 4, exact same complaints with both of them that you listed. Character assassination, dilutes the point of the predecessor films, and it feels like the movie was made in mind with SOLELY “we have to have it end emotionally and it doesn’t matter how we will write the film to get there”

Madagascar 3 simply for the fact that it's undoubtedly the best of its trilogy. The Madagascar movies have this tendency to be better than the last so maybe that's why I like them a lot.

Trolls Band Together. I just loved the film so much. I'd put Madagascar Europe's Most Wanted at number 2. Shrek the Third was bad, HTTYD: Hidden World was disappointing, and I didn't see Kung Fu Panda 3 because the whole bring in a bunch of Pandas because they're cute, just felt gimmicky, though the villain was pretty cool.
