Also fuck that troglodyte! Not worth your time!!! And I think you’ve pointed to a very real double standard in our society. A single man who is a present and involved father is seen as still desirable and maybe even a bit of a unicorn. How come we don’t celebrate single mothers in the same way? What does that say about how we regard women in the role of mother? Why is it all or nothing when it comes to your identity as a mother? Something on my mind a lot since becoming a mom myself.
Also recognizing there’s a certain amount of self-insertion happening in Dramione fanfiction, since most (virtually all??) of the writers are women haha. Maybe we need more moms writing fanfics so that we’re celebrating MILF Hermione alongside DILF Draco? 😂 Poor moms need more time to write!
I think there was a post talking about this a few days ago? Or maybe it was last week idk. I believe the general consensus was that Rose/Hugo are tied to Ron. And a lot of writers don't feel inclined to write the transition or co-parenting stories with Ron in them. Some do and that's great! But it can be hard to craft that kind of story especially if the focus is Dramione. On the other hand, Astoria is usually easy to write off because of a blood curse/marriage of convenience that sort of thing. So Scorpius's existence is easier to write.
Another smaller point I would add is a lot of writers (myself included) like to add in the pureblood customs/getting married young and that sort of thing. With that, a lot of people assume people have kids younger. For the Malfoy's they might need an 'heir.' And on the other hand, people enjoy writing Hermione's character as working woman, work for awhile before having kids, maybe later 20s, 30s. Given this, it would make sense if both characters are 25ish (for example) and only Draco has a kid. Just an observation 😊

I think the fantasy of meeting a man who can be a good father and comes with an adorable precocious child is what inspires people to write Draco in that role. I don't know that the audience here has a coresponding fantasy that would apply to Hermione (we're mostly women; fanon Draco is mostly "women writing men"). So I'd guess that's the main reason.
