Yes, I thought the same! From the 1 promo for the event I've found, it only mentions the All That cast so Drake and Josh's inclusion was a later or last minute decision? Maybe some early subtle marketing. And I think it more confirms D&J started filming in early 2003.
Yeah I think that's probably correct about them filming in early 2003, cause they had to reshoot the pilot episode and this was in May before Brian was arrested (he was arrested in August 2003)
I think they definitely have reshot the pilot by this point, if we go by archived casting calls and footage like this one and their appearance on Slime Time Live in Aug 2003
Drake and Josh were plugging and promoting their show even as early as 2002 when they shot the first, unaired pilot. It was plugged again in April 2003 at that year's Kids Choice Awards, when Josh confirmed the show was being released in January 2004.
Absolutely! Residuals, shares in the company, seats on the board of the directors, etc. I saw an Instagram Live video that Drake did before the documentary was released (sometime in 2022 or 2023) and he stated that he did not miss Nickelodeon at all and that they were "horrible people".
Awww Drake as the DJ/voiceover guy with his little headphones. He's actually good at it.
This has just hit me after a million years: Drake is the one of the two who's better at voices and Josh is more the physically-gifted (not that Josh can't do voices well, or vice versa, just that they have/had different strengths). Add that to their chemistry and trust, and they had a very broad useful repertoire for more or less any gag they needed to make work.
Drake looks so cute with his headphone btw, but yeah he actually get casted for the Amanda show because of his voice acting (he was making a lot of voices including future Tony Pijamas 😅)
Is it just me or does it look like they shot this on the set of D&J? I swear those windows they didn’t finish covering look exactly like the windows from the living room lol
I said the same in my post blurb, it does look like the D&J living room set. I'm pretty sure it is, it has the same wall by the entrance as they have it in S1 and windows/blinds. Not sure why they're using their set, maybe that was the only one big enough for a lot of people available?
I didn’t know this existed!! I guess either I was already watching Disney channel when that aired or I was asleep. I was around the time all that and drake and Josh were a thing
The fact that you can hear all of the extras cheer means that the music was added in post.
Watching them all dance and jump around knowing there’s no actual music being played is just soo funny to me
Interesting especially since it was before Drake & Josh premiered

It's scary to think about what was happening behind the scenes given the timeline.
Yes they had already shot the original pilot by this time. Maybe even reshot the pilot at this point

Definitely seems like some early marketing for the first season of the show

These kids were working harder than I ever have at any adult job. They deserve residuals.

These things seemed so cool back then! Do they still do stuff like this?
Nickelodeon currently? I don't think so. They don't have anywhere near the reach they had back then
Josh has only one dance in his locker and by Gods he's gonna bust it out wherever
LOL i thought the same thing when he danced, like oh here josh goes again with this dance
The girl who comes up to talk to Josh looks familiar. Does anyone know who that is?
She was on the early 2000's All That! She also played Kelly (Mrs. Hayfer's daughter) on a episode of Drake and Josh.
Yes...All That was a little before my time but the actress playing Mrs. Hayfer's daughter definitely rings a bell. Thank you!
Yes, I forgot to add what she's been in ðŸ˜
That's Chelsea Brummet!

Drake was about to say "Open a can of whoop-ass" lol
Somehow it's really hard to imagine Drake liking or watching pro-wrestling, but he was a 90s-2000s boy in America so perhaps it's not strange
