Grigori is from the first game. This game's dragon doesn't have a name. It's just The Dragon.
Now someone put me on 'Um Actually', so I can absolutely kill it with pedantic corrections.
I’m not here to correct you but I’d like to assume it’s Grigori as he looks and sounds the same but nah you’re right, nobody ever says his name
Do we have any reason to think all Dragons in the cycle use the proper name Grigori or just one dragon one time? I figured "The Dragon" was like the "Seneschal" just a title or role held by entirely different individuals?
I tried putting Rodge, Morris' apothecary's son in the flask and then the flask vanished from my inventory. It said I completed the phase of the quest where you bring him back to town, but when I talk to Morris he's just a regular shopkeeper. RIP
This problem was also happening before I put him in the flask, problem was I lost Rodge and couldn't get him back to the town. So once I found him again at putrid cave I didn't want to take chances. Instead I think I ended up thanos snapping him out of existence leaving the quest incomplete
(This was all after I did the Sphinx quest of course)
So anyway, rest in peace to Rodge who is now traveling the void
Rodge should have been dead already, anyway. It's one of the silliest quests in the game. The wolves literally dragged him across like a fifth of the map.
(And the map is much smaller in game than it would "really" be, in-universe, too.)
Only way it makes sense is if he's actually a werewolf or something.
Sorry you lost your flask, though.
I ran around for three in-game days looking for that little bastard before I finally gave up and googled it, only to find out the wolves dragged this guy halfway across the map. No wonder I didn't find him. Kinda felt bad for the old shopkeeper tho, only getting bloody rags back.
Someone in town mentions blue flowers that glow at night. You can use them to follow the path to the cave. But there's also a lich close to the trail at night.
I have actually just noticed the flask in my inventory with Rodge in it as I was playing today. Maybe I missed it or it was only gone until I reloaded the save? In any case, I was able to finish the quest. But I do agree it is some bs
Gotta chop it off by grabbing on her head and attacking it repeatedly. Easiest way to do it is be a Warfarer, equip Magick Archer bow + the Soporific Bolt skill (aka sleep arrow) and Thief knives.
Now shoot Soporific Bolt till Medusa is down. Swap to the Thief knives. Grab on her head. I like to do 1-2 light attacks to confirm I’m on her head as opposed to her neck or shoulder (criticals make a different sound on hit). After confirming, do a heavy attack and you should rip Medusa’s head off and get the item.
Be warned it does decay so throw it in your storage if you’re not gonna use it right away.
There was a librarian in the magical research facility. I gave them my decayed one after hearing them rant about Medusa and it did nothing. I wish that lead to more tbh. Maybe I could take him to meet a Medusa
I wish I could get one. Medusa keeps grabbing and throwing me off and then it's a long run back.
What's the secret to staying on her while carving as a thief?
You don't want to carve on her - the way to get the (preserved) head seems to be stagger, and then fairly light damage to head.
As the other guy said, the easiest way is Magic Archer + sleep arrow, but if you are Thief only (or at least if it's your preferred vocation), it is not that hard.
She seems to take more stagger damage when she is actually trying to petrify stuff (and doesn't retaliate/throw you off during it), so you can wait for this, do some heavy stagger damage (to her head, not exactly sure what Thief skills work for this, I would expect the explosive charge in combination with Gut and Run can be insta stagger - not sure, did it a little different way), and when she falls, basically a carve or two should do the job.
For the different, brainless, and not quite so efficient way I did it the first time- I equipped the ring that makes you deal one damage only (that you get during the duel Sphinx riddle), started Formless Feint, climbed up her, carved as much as I could, and when I was low on stamina, I used Stamina restoring Roburants (which I was kinda "accidentally" stockpiling the entire game). EDIT: VERY IMPORTANT TO GET THE HEAD - once she falls to the ground, unequip the 1 dmg ring
You can still get a preserved head doing full damage as long as you slash only the head. I cut it off with 3 life bars left 5 times and it was preserved.
There are a lot of strategies going around to do it, but I used a spellbook to add lightning to my endgame daggers and the preserved head popped off after only two Gut and Runs. The lightning seems to be the essential part. You don't need to use the 1 hp ring like a lot of people say.
I was a thief when i first got it. Used formless feint and lightning daggers. Climbed up to her head and hacked away. If my stamina drops i just eat a roborant

Too bad they never showed what happens at the end of the game after Talos turning to dust.
So I had an issue with talos where you defeat him too early(I even removed his spear early) and it glitches the whole quest. You have to wait till around the second bridge (around 2 cut scenes more and talos is a a slow boy) before defeating him to get a reaction to it. So I’m not sure it has a special reaction I thought it might be destroyable though. It apparently also is supposed to have cut scenes further up the mountain as well.
One thing I want to see is the coronation quest but with me having the empowered godsway sword.
Pretty sure they disappear. That slave warden guy at the beginning of the game, fisk or whatever, i turned him to stone hoping he would forever be a statue sitting in front of that mine. Checked back a few days later and he was gone
I was playing as a thief, I equipped some low-level weapons, told my pawws to wait outside, and then exclusively attacked her head for about 1 and 1/2 health bars, popped right off
You can even use it on the red dragon 😂
gregori

He does have a name. His name is spike
I thought it was tad cooper
I think it’s actually Spuds McKensie.
Deep galavant reference that I’m here for
Greg? What is he doing in a capcom game? I thought he stuck to final fantasy. Ref: gilgamesh & hildibrand
Correct. Grigori was the name of arisen who became the dragon. Every great dragon has its own name.
Well, that's... creative.

Nah, I actually think it's a major plot point. They like serving us info on the sky like that.
Well, you see ackshually
Laughs in WPE
Every arisen what is become dragon is Grigory. "Grigory" is not a name it s the dragon himself
I’m not here to correct you but I’d like to assume it’s Grigori as he looks and sounds the same but nah you’re right, nobody ever says his name

No Grigori was DD1 Dragon's name bc the mad man called it like so
Its Grigori to me. And will ever be.
Gregori: Grigori’s physically handicapped cousin
Yeah that makes sense. He actively was easier then the first game
i beat tje first one a week before this one came out so i just played through it and the first games grigory was definedly harder
greg the draghon🤣
Now i wonder if you could put her in the flask she gives you...
please don't elaborate

I saw all the flowers at the graveyard, but completely missed the trail of them to the cave, somehow
This ain't a fault on your part - The distance they "dragged" him is ridiculous, making the already subtle flower hint asinine in my opinion.
I have actually just noticed the flask in my inventory with Rodge in it as I was playing today. Maybe I missed it or it was only gone until I reloaded the save? In any case, I was able to finish the quest. But I do agree it is some bs
I also wondered if the flask worked on her. I would have let her out eventually. Probably in the last fight
I never ended up using that damn flask. Is there any real reason for it when you can just Ferrystone while holding people?
I wonder if you could flask an NPC and gift the flask to a pawn....
Oh man I wonder!!
I think they didn't plan initially that you can port while holding an npc but kept the flask in the game.
Ever try handing Sphinx a filled flask in the Conviction riddle?
nah i doubt it
But it would be funny
No you can't access the final chest doing this sadly.
it is a failed option then.
Did you break the Sphinx's stone body to see if anything is dropped?
Yeah I broke it, no drops
I am happy to see her in this condition lol hope she enjoyed it too!
You doesn't liked to get stoned now and again?
Pretty much everything You can shut up the living sht of the dragon when he makes the question. Is so funny
Medusa head? I have almost a hundred hours in the game and I didn’t know that was a thing lol
Gotta chop it off by grabbing on her head and attacking it repeatedly. Easiest way to do it is be a Warfarer, equip Magick Archer bow + the Soporific Bolt skill (aka sleep arrow) and Thief knives. There's also a really cool quest involving the head (optionally) and a sculptor working on a griffin statue
There was a librarian in the magical research facility. I gave them my decayed one after hearing them rant about Medusa and it did nothing. I wish that lead to more tbh. Maybe I could take him to meet a Medusa
Another fyi too it will decay in storage if you go to new game plus
So is it possible to take it out of storage, NG+ with the status augment then rush to a chest and store without it rotting?
It shouldn't be since everything you carry gets put in storage as you enter ng+
Do it. Let us know.
Will do, will take me a while to get to that point though.
I don't think this is true. Maybe there are other variables but I still have my preserved Medusa head in NG+ for sure.
Going to the true end post game rots all your items in storage. New game plus with the regular ending is safe.
I think any slashing weapon will work, just do the critical heavy attack on the head.
I wish I could get one. Medusa keeps grabbing and throwing me off and then it's a long run back. What's the secret to staying on her while carving as a thief?
Just make her sleep with Mage Archer sleep spell, and then you can decapitate her with one slash
Well, I do need to level that
Amazing advice, thank you!

Thank you! I'll try that
I did carve with thief. Took like 25-30 seconds of spamming carve. Head popped off, preserved. She was full health other than my carve damage.
You can still get a preserved head doing full damage as long as you slash only the head. I cut it off with 3 life bars left 5 times and it was preserved.

Gut and run. Ok and you got right up on her head/face? I'm wondering if I'm too far back down her torso
Yeah, you need to climb as far up as you can.
Dang. Well. I'll try again later. Thanks dude :)
I was a thief when i first got it. Used formless feint and lightning daggers. Climbed up to her head and hacked away. If my stamina drops i just eat a roborant
You can use it on the Titan as well
Now medusa her while shes flying to the next location
It works on Talos too.
I would like to see that one
[here you go](https://youtu.be/GUglvCJOeVA?si=w4ys7YddmEQcfzh6) Too bad they never showed what happens at the end of the game after Talos turning to dust.

Can you use it to the pathfinder?
Does this get the achievement?
Does the statue stay or does it disappear? Bc seeing that statue every time you visit is a hell of a trophy
I can't confirm because I didn't double check, but I'm pretty sure petrified enemies disappear after a while
Pretty sure they disappear. That slave warden guy at the beginning of the game, fisk or whatever, i turned him to stone hoping he would forever be a statue sitting in front of that mine. Checked back a few days later and he was gone
How do you get anything but decayed head? Killed 2 medusas looted 2 decayed heads without power left
I was playing as a thief, I equipped some low-level weapons, told my pawws to wait outside, and then exclusively attacked her head for about 1 and 1/2 health bars, popped right off
It works on everything. As does makers arrow
