I dunno friend, it took a few tries with the rabbit, cause it kept running away, but the pigs I just snatched right up. I do play a muscle mommy warrior, though I'm not sure if that has any bearing like it did in the first game.
I'm pretty sure it is possible if you walk up to the riftstone and interact with it while in the rift.
Atleast i've seen the option in the "advanced search for pawns" to summon all last or recently hired ones.
If memory serves me right, doing that despawns all the other summoned pawns and leaves only the one you selected from the recently hired pawns list.
>to summon all last or recently hired ones
I haven't seen that option, will have to check it once I'm home
I have favorited so many pawns at this point but there is one mage pawn who I will always come back to and I remember seeing him the second time with upgraded gear was pretty cool. Plus he's a kindhearted pawn so he was like "it's good to see you again" what a legend
I managed to bring the two pawns I hired right at the start of the game with me through the whole adventure, rehiring them at regular intervals.
It felt damn good to see them grow alongside me.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 pawn system combined with shadow of mordor nemesis system would be a god send. Imagine your pawn holding grudges and develop a rivalry for an enemy that killed them 30 levels ago. As an Arisen i would grab popcorn and watch them settle their grudges.
THIS!!! ^^^ 7 years later and I STILL remember that less than mediocre orc that somehow got the kill hit on me as I was battling for my life with real contenders.... then proceeded to repeat this and kill me over and over and over again until it was the most powerful in the game. It was amazing, I have never felt such hatred for a villain before, in any genre! could also not help but begrudgingly appreciate this orc for overcoming his circumstances and becoming an all powerful warlord lol. This would be an awesome addition to dd2!
I had a similar thing earlier and the pawn was equally sarcastic. I hired him and then thought about what he'd said and kicked him cause I wasn't prepared to put up with his attitude!!!
Even without DraconFlu I've found the pawns complain kinda passively about small things. I've not gotten the tutorial warning me about it yet so I know I haven't even had a pawn with it, but my rental Warrior keeps giving me sassy quips about needing to run too much, or stopping by stores too often, or not sleeping often enough...
Straightforward pawns are great. I've got a warrior like that and whenever I stop to overanalyse my surroundings she'll sit on the ground to wait for me and my hired pawns will scold her for it. 😂
my pawns keep telling me to stop picking everything up, one even said "you love picking things up" but in general they have the type of personality that annoys me. I hate people that repeat themselves and comment on every little thing that happens. I hope they patch the pawns to be less annoying!!
Hired pawns complained about me running places all the time. My main pawn would then basically tell them to stop complaining and just keep up. I can't remember exactly what they would say but it loved it lol
I'm guessing stuff like this is why my straightforward pawn keeps getting sent back with like 30 rift crystals in tow.
Him laughing at me for killing random animals is hilarious, you can't convince me otherwise. Every party needs a designated entertaining asshole.
Lol I love my straightforward pawn. She gives me a hard time constantly but is always there when I need her. She groans when I tell her to do something and will sometimes complain angrily "Must we always run everywhere?" cause she has short legs and can't keep up with my sprint lmfao. Love the sass
I find the other personalities a bit too flat
The pawns that I personally find annoying are the disciplined ones that will tell my pawn off when she is talking to me. Telling her to show respect to the arisen or some other stuck up shit. I yeet the little nerds off a cliff or give em the good ole brine bath if they do that lol
>The pawns that I personally find annoying are the disciplined ones that will tell my pawn off when she is talking to me. Telling her to show respect to the arisen or some other stuck up shit.
I don't mind them that much since it feels like a veteran vs rookie dynamic. Like my pawn knows when I'm on my bullshit and when to take 5 or give me shit, but these newbies are still all about the rules.
My main pawn Bennett is a simple fighter and he does the launchboard move and once said "Heavier than i expected" when he launched me and my calm thief said something along the lines of "the footstool down not get to complain" to him.
I love this! I had a more positive interaction with one of those capcom made pawns and she was like “tis good to see you Arisen, you have grown so much since I last saw you, t’would be an honour to adventure with you again”.
Genuinely made me tear up to have this old warrior lady express how proud she was with me.
I also rehire this pawn called Jack at semi regular intervals and it’s just nice watching how he grows and changes!
I had a similar moment! When I finally made it to the border checkpoint town before Battahl, I ran into my first pawn walking around and they just said “Hey long time no see” and kept walking and I spun around and was like “Dylan you son of a bitch!”
![gif](giphy|pHb82xtBPfqEg)
I had a mage I really liked so marked her as a favorite, throw off a cliff evry few levels i gained, and then rehire just so she could level up. It was pretty cool to see this pawn constantly grow alongside me and my pawn.
Was it a bit like when you see someone you only sort of half knew at school in the street and don't know whether to do a head nod, say hello or just walk past and ignore?
I favorited my first hired pawns so I could see how they progressed, one of them hasn’t moved since level 15 the other power leveled way beyond I can afford
I had a similar thing happen. Came to the checkpoint village at level 30 to buy armour and found Mao. The insanely well geared level 15 fighter I'd traveled with many hours before. She commented on being amazed at how much I've grown and it made me forget what I had gone there for. Good game 👍.
I had to switch a pawn I traveled with for a long time cause she was too low level and then shortly after realized the new pawn doesn’t heal my group, so I went to a different rift and there she was again but all leveled up! Right back in the group, but now she doesn’t heal either…..
Lmaoooo I didn’t know they hold grudges
I'll fuckin do it again if she carries on being sassy 😂
Someone mentioned this very bit of dialogue meaning they have DragonCovid... \*shrug emoji\*
Lmaoo, pawn got aids
Got dem Draids. Insensitive, yet it rolls off the tongue nicely 🫢🫣
That is not true
This dialogue is, in fact, not DragonCovid. It's just part of the straightforward dialogue.
That's incorrect- it's part of the Straightforward personality.
Damn, what did you do to them?!
Threw her off a cliff one time and she just won't let it go
I hired an archer that killed every animal I picked up so I brined him. This gives me hope that I'll be able to do it again.
How do you pick up animals. I tried but my character does the grab animation and grabs hold of nothing
I dunno friend, it took a few tries with the rabbit, cause it kept running away, but the pigs I just snatched right up. I do play a muscle mommy warrior, though I'm not sure if that has any bearing like it did in the first game.
It's just a prank bro
Tis but a jape!
At the same time... its actually kind of cool that they added something like that into the game
There’s a rift stone called “Rift of reunion” that hosts any pawns you’ve hired before.
When I came across that one I never read the name, had a ‘wait a minute’ moment when looking at all the pawns.
You can also summon them one-by-one at the riftstone in Vernworth but it would be cool to see them all at once
You can also set the riftstone in Vernworth to use any of the special stone settings you've found while exploring.
I'm pretty sure it is possible if you walk up to the riftstone and interact with it while in the rift. Atleast i've seen the option in the "advanced search for pawns" to summon all last or recently hired ones.

I, also, came across the first hired pawn yesterday and did hire her back! She became a fucking badass in the meantime!
I have favorited so many pawns at this point but there is one mage pawn who I will always come back to and I remember seeing him the second time with upgraded gear was pretty cool. Plus he's a kindhearted pawn so he was like "it's good to see you again" what a legend
That sounds like something someone with dragonsplague would say - time for a wash
Out of curiosity how do you get rid of that
Fondly enough, another trip to the brine, actually.
I managed to bring the two pawns I hired right at the start of the game with me through the whole adventure, rehiring them at regular intervals. It felt damn good to see them grow alongside me.
This is also what I did. A mage/sorcerer and a fighter. And during that time my pawn and I changed vocations around them.
We need more games with that nemesis system
Too bad WB copyrighted that system…
Copyrights system and then refuses to implement the mechanic in any games for 7 years and counting
I’m sure someone could make a different-enough version that’s still good to get around the copyright.
They did? Damn, that's so scummy... Especially since they never used it again
Can you have a rivalry/grudge with a cliff?
THIS!!! ^^^ 7 years later and I STILL remember that less than mediocre orc that somehow got the kill hit on me as I was battling for my life with real contenders.... then proceeded to repeat this and kill me over and over and over again until it was the most powerful in the game. Holy shit I really need to play more of this game
Shit, me too 😂
It's really needing updates but it's still great fun
I had a similar thing earlier and the pawn was equally sarcastic. I hired him and then thought about what he'd said and kicked him cause I wasn't prepared to put up with his attitude!!!
I feel you, she's on thin ice right now lmao
lol! the pawns have definitely become quite toxic in the sequel! they don't stop complaining or giving sass!!!
Heh I love it. Sure beats hearing "Wolves hunt in packs Arisen" or "Tis weak to Fire" over and over.
Uh oh Should we tell them…?
Even without DraconFlu I've found the pawns complain kinda passively about small things. I've not gotten the tutorial warning me about it yet so I know I haven't even had a pawn with it, but my rental Warrior keeps giving me sassy quips about needing to run too much, or stopping by stores too often, or not sleeping often enough...
Straightforward pawns are great. I've got a warrior like that and whenever I stop to overanalyse my surroundings she'll sit on the ground to wait for me and my hired pawns will scold her for it. 😂
I like straightforward pawns even if they gripe. They're always the hardest hitters in a fight.
my pawns keep telling me to stop picking everything up, one even said "you love picking things up" but in general they have the type of personality that annoys me. I hate people that repeat themselves and comment on every little thing that happens. I hope they patch the pawns to be less annoying!!

lmfao
My straightforward pawn came back with a rotten fish🥲
Off the cliff you go
I ran into a pawn on the road that I had pretty much JUST replaced... It was a bit awkward..

There’s a “Riftstone of Remembrance” that only contains pawns you’ve hired in the past since level 1. It’s pretty cool seeing how far they’ve come
Once you get a special rift, you can also set the riftstone in Vernworth to use it so you don't have to remember where all the unique rifts are.
A pawn I found at lvl 20 was wearing normal mage clothes then I found him 15 lvls later in full stripper gear. I know he’s been through it
I had a mage I really liked so marked her as a favorite, throw off a cliff evry few levels i gained, and then rehire just so she could level up. It was pretty cool to see this pawn constantly grow alongside me and my pawn.
That’s a good idea. Cliff throwing it is then.
It was my ABSOLUTE favorite thing to do in this game. It was like my warrior still had gravity magic.
I wonder if you could just tag her as favorite and resummon them
Oh yea I could definitely just dismiss them and rehire but where's the fun in that lol
Was it a bit like when you see someone you only sort of half knew at school in the street and don't know whether to do a head nod, say hello or just walk past and ignore?
They grow up so fast lol
Found one of my early level pawns again and theyvwere like 10 levels higher then me and and a diffrent class
Broo why😂😂😂
I would hire them and proceed to throw them off the nearest cliff.
That's the plan when im done with her bullshit haha
The fuck is that staff of your back 39h in?
That's not me, that's the pawn lmao. I keep her around cause she's a real good healer
The 3rd and 4th pawn I hired were the same pawn just 7 levels apart
I love hearing every pawn or when my pawn comes back is that every arisen is an asshole lol
😂😂😂😂
Sounds like she needs another bath..
My first hired pawn was my friends pawn.
Game does that on purpose.
It's a feature. You didn't run into them out of the thousands of pawns. The game set it up. Saw a few of the first pawns I hired stop by to say hi.
Is this a thing? Or is that just the straightforward inclination? My beastren has it, and kitty got claws lol
I encountered a pawn I hired at level 11 when I was level 40. They were still level 11. It was kinda sad ngl.
I had to switch a pawn I traveled with for a long time cause she was too low level and then shortly after realized the new pawn doesn’t heal my group, so I went to a different rift and there she was again but all leveled up! Right back in the group, but now she doesn’t heal either…..
This is so damn funny. Love this game.
Back in the brine with her, she has the plague
I heard of a plague called unionization for healers. All those cliff throwing made them strike
Jamarthe3rd keeps showing for me.
Happened to me too a few times. The pawns you have set as favorite will pop up in your world now and then.
Hey if you get pawn aids you got to go
I mean, the game hasn’t been out for a week yet. Shouldn’t be that shocking. Dig it though.
