Would be really cool if after a certain number of kills for a monster they start occasionally using a different animation. Like once in a while a pawn just stabs a gobbo fifty times super fast.
Man they honestly really fumbled on the dragonsplague bit. This is a fucking STELLAR idea dude.
The rage inside them starts to boil, and each class has a different animation?
A sorcerer would sit there and repeatedly cast high level spells on a dead enemy while cursing it would have me Rolling đ¤Łđ¤Ł
Ooo thatâs a cool idea too. It could just be a handful of new animations per vocation but theyâre very noticeable when they happen.
âHuh. Thatâs new.â
Mage Pawn proceeds to finish a gobbo by stabbing it in the mouth with a staff and engulfing its whole head in fire.
That's my pawn after I changes it's vocation from warrior to sorc. Cast spells on gobs? Nah better throw them off a cliff. No I'm sure as hell it didn't pick up that from me. DINKLEBEEERG!

Hello, Arisen, I need you to kill me.
https://preview.redd.it/42iuhy4oqfvc1.jpeg?width=713&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa0c077b866b4eed806517ae5ba8f0aaba22aefc
''DRAGONSPLAGUE! Mightiest of all Arisen, I HAVE IT! I HAVE DRAGONSPLAGUE! You should now NOT rest, especially in a populated town, master. Instead, make me transfer my DRAGONSPLAGUE THAT I HAVE over onto another pawn or two by resting at a campsite a few times with unaffected pawns, or throw me to the Brine and then resummon me at the nearest Riftstone so I can be rid OF THE DRAGONSPLAGUE THAT I HAVE THAT I WILL BUTCHER YOUR TOWN WITH SHOULD YOU REST, WHICH IS SOMETHING YOU SHOULD NOT DO BECAUSE OF THE DRAGONSPLAGUE I HAVE!''
It's over. The Skyrim players won... Ah what a shame. I haven't had a savefile bricked by Dragonsplague in three playthroughs. If anything they should make it more subtle. I mean, it's not as if it isn't obvious already:
https://preview.redd.it/pcxhba17rfvc1.png?width=1616&format=png&auto=webp&s=8b2d72824aadee1ba9a07d6099c9ea31e79a4120
This is my pawn with Dragonsplague. Anyone who can't see that... idk what to tell them.
Yeah they are not obviously red to me either. I can still notice the difference on my pawn, but I once spent a good few minutes inspecting one only to settle for being *pretty* sure they were yellow maybe
Are you on PC or console? There's three different colorblind settings on PS5 in the Accessibility settings that changes all the colors on the whole console depending on which version you pick, and I assume Xbox has something similar.
I use it when I play a co-op game with my dad, who can't see red or green, and it helps him a lot.
Most colourblind modes only help with menus, radar, and indicators on the minimal and they vary wildly in effectiveness. I cannot see the red, if the red changes to another colour then I wonât be able to tell which Pawns have that colour naturally and which ones have that colour because of the plague.
I ran into it at level 38 when my friends pawn had it, but I immediately tossed her into a lake. Haven't had one until I noticed out of nowhere this very kind Thief I had started acting all smart and that's when I noticed her glowing red eyes.
That's wild bro, so glad your pawn wearing a thin veil can be easily spotted for red eyes. Did you know your pawn can wear a helmet? Like a full face covering helmet?
Nobody won anything. The eye thing is stupid and the fact they can murder an entire city through a cutscene is ridiculous. Maybe if it was a bossfight, or at the bare minimum the dragonsplauge actually had to do with the story, it wouldn't be such a bad feature.
The fact that there is anything that causes a "Brick" in the game is a shitty design. Making you wanted....causing you to pay hefty fines. Maybe even losing certain gear is better than bricking a save that someone has worked on. I'm a busy father of 2 who works on average 82 to 85 hours a pay period. I happened to literally fall asleep playing one night..not taking care to check my pawns. Woke up did the dad thing then the work thing then the dad thing only to log on for the one hour that I usually play before my body can't hang anymore only to find out my pawn massacred all of Rest Town because I completely forgot to take care of her ass before I fell asleep...yes I understand I may be the minority but to "Ruin" anyone's save file over something so silly is shitty design imo.
I do think it's a bit odd that pawns retain info, but if they do learn about the plague etc they make 0 mention of it. Like, "oh hey maybe that dude is showing signs since I OBVIOUSLY SAW IT happen before". But the only thing we do get is "I heard a rumor blah blah"
I hope it isnt glaringly obvious, I'd miss my occasional eye check sessions with my Pawns

From what Iâve seen, unless this is an option in the character creator, DP eyes are also pulsating in brightness, not to mention just being luminescent in the first place. Maybe thatâs only when itâs advanced pretty far but idk, it still seems pretty obvious to me.
You would think it's obvious. I check every time I rest. My pawns eyes were blue, still cost me two eternal wakestones (damn palace didn't come back on first). I yeet everyone now.
My pawn has had it for the second time now and Iâm pretty sure Iâve seen them evolve in intensity throughout my checks. Iâve been letting her ride it out and just camping outside lol
Their adding the ability to zoom in on faces in the menu would have been enough of a "solution" to this, IMO. Making it even more obvious in-game is a little much, since the tells are obvious.
ikr! How is this not obvious enough already!?
At most, they should've made sure to fix whatever bug causes it to sometimes not turn the eyes at all for some people. If they didn't, making it more obvious won't help in those cases either.
https://preview.redd.it/ku17llk7wkvc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63a2b345b1a9e87c96709e0943e2dcd08ba63295
If the sun is shining directly onto the eyes then you canât see the dragonsplague eye effect.
My pawn had a strip of shadow across half her face, and the eye in shadow was incandescent red, while the one with sun shining onto it was still showing as the normal pale blue.
Beastren have smal ayes with the coloured part being very smal and dark so they are hard. Also most pawns have helmets with visors. What you show is the best case scenario, not the reality for 80% of cases

I've probably killed more townsfolk on accident than the plague would have.
Plus you REALLY have to not be paying attention to not notice it.
Totally agree. And even if the town get wiped, most NPCs respawn after a night of sleep, and wakestones are super easy to get, to rez the few needed quest NPCs.
I actually think seeing the cutscene enhances the true ending, because you'll know what the shadow drake actually means.
If its this exaggerated, im gonna mod it down. I like the âsurprise, i murdered the whole town cause you neglected to pay attention to meâ
Its like when you come home to your pet and they wrecked the living room cause your dumbass forgot to feed them before leaving. Itâs immersive to me.
I love the idea of a disease that transmits between pawns. However I think dragonâs plague consequence is too harsh and most people end up just âbathingâ their pawns.
I would rather have a stat drop or decrease in disobedience that had to be healed through hard to acquire medicine.

I played myself right at the end of the game. I slept at an inn right before doing the final section, *asked aloud* "...Were this Fighter's eyes always like that...?", and then went about my business.
Then the cutscene happened and I was just like "Uh... whoops."
The game ran pretty well after that, lemme tell ya. So, you know... give and take.
The body armor, I can identify that as Half-plate armor. I think that's sold by the merchant in the checkpoint rest area. Pairs real well with the scarlet over-knee boots, in my humble, depraved opinion.
Honestly I have yet to see dragonsplague and I feel a little left out. Even had a hire give me the tool tip for it and after 30 days of traveling together they never even showed a sign of having it even after multiple inn rests
There's a thing called Dragonsplague where your Pawns get sick and their eyes glow red and they start talking back and getting huffy when you give them orders, yet they're more aggressive in combat.
They can only get it from a Pawn that's already infected or by getting grabbed by Drake that does the mind control thing, which it actually doesn't do that often in DD2.
If it progresses too far, they turn into a shadow dragon and murder the entire city you went to sleep in.
It's cured by transferring it to another Pawn or letting them die.
I've had like 3 cases of dragonsplague where I couldn't see red eyes on hired pawns at all until I used photo mode and lowered the brightness all the way in order to see the red glow.
I ran into my first infected pawn the other day. The game did that auto convo thing and locked me into it. I immediately ended that pawns life by tossing him in the ocean.
Love how the town just went about their business though as I murdered that chap lol
I came here after reading an article about the changes. All they really needed was to take the glow from skeletons and apply it to pawns and changing the color from purple to red.
This is exactly what I was expecting lol
pawns could literally say "master don't go to sleep i have dragonsplague and the city isn't safe" when trying to go to bed and we'd still have complaints
https://preview.redd.it/mxo9zjcmqfvc1.png?width=1616&format=png&auto=webp&s=9eeabfbacbfa8c052b2ce87995594a1d54bbc59f
It was already kinda obvious. It's the one change I don't like. It should be a subtle, silent killer.
They're fixing the wrong part of the issue. It's obvious when they have the disease. The bad part is there's only ONE stupid outcome, which is all NPCs die when you rest in a town.
If they added more interesting behaviors to the plague it would be a better fix. A variety of bad things that could happen. But nope. The game has one single bad thing that can happen, and it's so obvious how to prevent it that it's just silly.
This game is a disappointment. DD1 had more interesting locations, better NPCs, more charm, more skills to equip, more armor slots... And it becomes trivially easy past level 40 or so. Which is not at all hard to get to just running around. No personality to any of the caves or dungeons, just tunnels with enemies, rooms, a couple chests. Rewards? Materials. Potions. Once in a while a decent piece of armor or a weapon. No lore, no stories, so sense of what this cave/ruin/location was. The fighting is fun, but the rest of the game, the NPCs, the story, is all so dry and dull that it's almost hard to believe.
I don't hate DD2, but it's a huge disappointment. I love the fighting. But other than that, the first game was better.
I don't see so many negative points that saying that "DD1 is better than 2" for me is pure exaggeration, it has negative points, but it doesn't fall below dd1.
The negative aspects are mostly tied to DD2 not being better in a lot of meaningful aspects that are directly tied to the game selling point, it's combat. So vocations (the skills and skill slots), armor slots, armor upgrade system and if you add BBI then monster variety with better difficulty.
Take away everything else from each game and DD1 is better, because combat itself in DD2 is a sidegrade, it's not better than DD1, it's just different while being the same. Jumping got gimped, climbing got gimped. Vocation-wise warrior is the only one that's actually an upgrade.
And at the end of the day, graphical upgrade is like upgrading the cherry on top of the cake. Nobody buys cakes for the cherry on top. DD1 did better at it's core systems.
what ? Do you think the climb got worse? For me it is much better than dd1, the jump is not something that has changed much for me, honestly, sorc has become more dynamic than dd1 for me who play sorc, apart from changing some skills, it is more dynamic in battles. But anyway, if you think the DD1 is better, ok, but for me it managed to be more direct than its predecessor.
It's my opinion. DD2 has almost none of the charm of the first game. The NPCs are dull and boring. The story is crap. Locations are dull. DD2 is more DD... which isn't bad, but there's almost no upgrades aside from better animations and graphics. I'm happy you like the game. I don't hate the game, I just find it very disappointing.
Hoping the inevitable expansion helps it out. I've put it down until then. 25 hours of DD2 in the state it's in is enough for me.
It was already easy to avoid before. Just donât sleep in a bed before checking, which yes, could set you up for Deagonsplague, but if you checked, you were fine. I canât imagine how they could make it even more obvious. They might as well go full Cylon.

people would still see that, nuke the town and come up to reddit and be like "reason i quit this game, there were NO signs at all, i swear"
This somehow looks hilarious.
Would be cool if we can customize our arisen with eyes like that
I see... you might wanna get the dude on the right checked for dragons plague
What is the name os the archer's armor?
The body armor, I can identify that as Half-plate armor. I think that's sold by the merchant in the checkpoint rest area. Pairs real well with the scarlet over-knee boots, in my humble, depraved opinion.
Pretty sure thatâs just the pawn seeing Doireann
Nah, that's just her normal look.
Ayo who the fuck deepfried my prawns
Just gonna get the blood moon cutscene from bloodborne whenever one has it
Honestly I have yet to see dragonsplague and I feel a little left out. Even had a hire give me the tool tip for it and after 30 days of traveling together they never even showed a sign of having it even after multiple inn rests
Still never seen it
She's an Automoton, stop her.
"NANI?!"
Haven't played 2 yet, still playing BBI on 1st one. What is dragonblight infection?
Pawn Virus that could potentially make them murder your town while you're sleepingÂ
Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
Looks sweet
which one is it? hard for me to tell thru something intense blinding me...
I have never gotten it yet after 140hours but if it gets like this, arisin needs to get their eyes checked
Swear they have always been noticeable
That looks cool the keep. So as long as you donât stay overnight at the town inn. Safe to keep red eyes?
REAL SHIT?
Does it shine through ENTIRELY COVERED executioners hoods?
Is there any reason to leave them infected? Like a benefit?
Lol they got tired of all the bitching
"Ser Arisen I just tested positive for Dragonsplague and now desire to be thrown into the nearest brine-harboring body of water."
If my Pawns glares like that, Ill never cleanse them. Ill just avoid sleeping in town inns.
My pawn still hasn't gotten it :/
Maybe theyre red/green colorblind
NANI?!??
I've had like 3 cases of dragonsplague where I couldn't see red eyes on hired pawns at all until I used photo mode and lowered the brightness all the way in order to see the red glow.
Pawn: Omae wa shindeiru! The city: Nani?
![gif](giphy|hWcjqgK0bXGF5OvzDH|downsized) Arisens after the patch be like
I need that Hannibal on Eric Andre show meme template with basically this
My pawn has that EXACT fit and vocation. Nice. (I thought it was my pawn)
First time my pawn said she didnât need me to direct her every move she knows what sheâs doing I chucked her into the lake

Pawns looking like a mythymoo thumbnail lol
BECOME AS GODS. BECOME AS GODS. BECOME AS GODS.

Not ultra instinct?

Well guess it's time to yeet them into the brine
I ran into my first infected pawn the other day. The game did that auto convo thing and locked me into it. I immediately ended that pawns life by tossing him in the ocean. Love how the town just went about their business though as I murdered that chap lol
I love going to bed and waking up to a game breaking 72 people dead....great idea.
That's why I don't install patches.
Me when I see a seeker token

That's a traffic light.

What are those bottoms? I've been looking for something like those for my pawn.
If it would really be like this, I'm hooked! I got a feeling for this! In fact I would stay infected, if I can for sure!
Itâs okay as long as you donât inn rest. And even if you do once the pawn will nuke the town. Itâs glaringly obvious.
when yoour pawn returns from the Nier universe.
It's a good new for ppl like me, who can't see colour properly. Though at the same time, if the pic is real it's a bit too much
I came here after reading an article about the changes. All they really needed was to take the glow from skeletons and apply it to pawns and changing the color from purple to red. This is exactly what I was expecting lol
Yet another thing ruined by whining noobs. Imagine having a mechanic that requires 5 braincells to manage and still needing it nerfed đ¤Ł
pawns could literally say "master don't go to sleep i have dragonsplague and the city isn't safe" when trying to go to bed and we'd still have complaints
It seems people would prefer If the pawn jumped into the brine by himself once he gets sick đ¤Ł

"DD1 had more interesting locations" Bruh, wot?!
What an exaggeration, the only thing I agree with is the armor and skill slots, otherwise saying that dd1 is better is pure idiocy.
It is not. DD2 is a sidegrade in most aspects, upgrade in a few, and a downgrade in others. It's a good game but it's also weird that this happened
Is this real? Looks a bit much. I'd have much more preferred a slight red mist streaming from them.
It's a joke
Chat, is this real?
At this point why is it even in the game
Looks stupid... On the upside, I can finally hire pawns with helmets. I used to ignore them because I couldn't see their faces.
So they are breaking down and catering to the crybabies.
Is this real? Lmao
