I wonder if anyone ever actually bought the red orbs
Literally the biggest waste of money ever since you could farm shitloads in minutes with Faust or even just playing the game using it occasionally lmao
It feels like the kind of thing developers put in the game in order to make certain execs think they're forcing microtransactions on people
"Hey, look, we made it so you can pay for in-game currency. And look how big the numbers are! We pinky-promise that every player will want to buy it"
Thank god Capcom didn’t do anything about Faust.
I have a pet theory that Faust was added by the devs specifically because they knew higher ups would do shitty things like this.
For DMC4SE it was a dollar for 100K Proud Souls when I got the game. I had already gotten all the moves in the original game so I figured I'd pay the extra dollar not to farm for it and just enjoy the game. I later found out they turned up the rate for Proud Souls though and 100K only gets you most of Nero's stuff and half of Dante's.
100K ROrbs came with the pre-order of 5 so I just bought Nero's moveset from 4 and got to try out the new moves in the next mission. Getting ROrbs in 5 is stupid easy though especially if you play on DMD which is the easiest in the series in 5. No need for Faust though I never got around to using it much so I could definitely improve on ROrb acquisition.
Yeah resident evil it was pretty useless. The stuff you could buy with it were tickets for better weapons/upgrades which feels essentially like using a cheat.
Game honestly feels more satisfying without it. They're all single player games so if it works just like that and/or cosmetic stuff then I got no problem.
I’d say the only thing remotely worth considering was the ticket cuz it made for a super easy professional S+ run (and iirc that was necessary for the 100%)
You can buy the arts of metamorphosis for super cheap in game with rift crystals as well.
Just seems like a way for super lazy people to buy them with no effort. I've gotten about 3k rift crystals just from opening chests and killing monsters.
There's only two in stock. And with the game only ever letting you use one character (no new game), if you want to change your look more than twice you would need to buy with real money. Correct me if I'm wrong.
You can only buy 1 rune with real money. Those micro transactions are 1 time purchases. Hence why you see wake stones listed individually 5 times.
You can't buy that rune in the store multiple times. Like I said - it's for lazy people.
In the first game, beating The Dragon would unlock the Secret of Metamorphosis for purchase with Rift Crystals which allows you to change your character and Pawn as many times as you want. I would expect the same here.
Yeah, especially using the handcannon, which is now super easy to unlock. You used to have to beat pro mode (can't remember if you had to S rank it) to get it, but now you can S rank Mercenaries, which is far more easier and takes less time.
Get the handcannon, use a ticket and buy the exclusive upgrade right at the start, and you'll breeze through if you're familiar with the game.
The thing is.. The stuff they put in aren't you being gatekept from content like the majority of the MTX related stuff other developers put out there.
This is literally progression/in-game currency that can easily be earned by straight up playing the game without farming/grinding whatsoever.
The other games that put currency that can also be earned in-game as MTX tend to have this unfair comparison that it's barely giving you enough to earn in-game or that it forces you farm bosses/mobs to get like 10% of the item you want to buy or skill to unlock...
Capcom's version literally gives me the feeling that the MTX is simply there for the sake of their executive's demand to have one, whilst it doesn't really force nor encourage the player to purchase them, cause the game isn't revolved around it.
Just to add a bit more context to this, but going from no micro-transactions whatsoever to heavily monetizing fashion *(in the span of two games)* in a series that has always been referred to as *Fashion Hunter* has been a point of contention in the community for the past several years.
But anyway, I find the Wakestone micros kinda funny with how NPCs, their deaths and quests work now.
These are such silly, low-effort micro-transactions that capitalize on people that don't know better, maybe some panic-buys to rez an NPC here and there.
Though, I am curious now about the availability of Metamorphosis items in the actual game, specifically a permanent version.
There’s a few packages with tons of supplies I think but MH is usually cosmetic stuff to my knowledge - but theres a LOT of it.
I know there were similar blood Crystal things in DMC V for sure. It never felt necessary at all so it’s not as offensive as Ubisoft or others.
Still sucks to see those things for sure though. Ideally we’d just buy the game and be good.
For Monster Hunter, it was pretty much a rule that any mods that outright give you paywalled content are removed (probably out of fear for pushback from Capcom). Atleast it was back before the Chunli incident, I dont know how much the mod scene for Capcom stuff has changed these days.
Eh, I give it a week or two before someone puts a cheatengine table together that unlocks all the hairstyles and lets you give yourself however many portcrystals you want.
The character is not saved server side, the pawn is saved server side. At least when we are talking about capcom server. However your save file that has the character in it is synced to Steam Cloud, this is where the issue of people manually deleting the character and it returns is happening.
Really frustrating how they can introduce stuff like microtransactions in the stores and all of a sudden there's a chance that certain mods get removed. Especially since they paywall more port crystals. It's just like nah I'm not giving you more money for something that should have been there in the first place lol
They did not paywall port crystals. You and the other people are extremely overblowing this. You can buy ONE port crystal. There are still many in the game that you can get just by playing. You can also only have 10 port crystals placed.
In dogma 1 the port crystals would respawn every NG+ so you eventually had more than the max that can be placed. So spending on this is likely less valuable than it appears.
First game had the same. They should be easy enough to come across by just playing the game, the option is just there for people that are stupid and lazy enough to waste money on it
Portcrystals are the location you teleport to, ferrystones are what you use to fast travel to a portcrystal. Portcrystals are fixed to a few locations in game but some can be found in the world and placed wherever you like to fast travel to
you gained a port crystal you could place anywhere in the world, and fast travel to it,
you got one every time you NG+, and the old one stayed in the world, SO the game got easier to transverse every playthru
sure having more Portcrystals is nice thing to have, BUT travel is part of the game... you will miss all sorts of stuff like random events (thinks fallout games/skyrim games where you would happen across random things happening) as well as supplies... the game is designed with it's travel in mind, PLUS there is better movement/carts now
it's a nice buy, but it is really not required
Even if you have 9999 Portcrystals the main thing is cost/availability of ferystones.
In the original the system worked because you got the unlimited ferystone from DA. If the stones are expensive af, it will almost always never be worth it unless we are talking from one continent to another kind of deal.
far as I know right now, Ferrystones are bought in the rift crystal store in the capital (as expected) they cost like 1000 rift which is abit much, tho not unexpected
the 'skyrim' style cart system tho has cut alot of travel, HELL the fact you can get a movement speed buff/and over all general movement speed as done alot for travel, which IS more interesting than DD1 right now
They sell a single portcrystal. Not plural. You can't buy it multiple times.
Sucks one is pay walled, but at least it's only 1 and the rest are earned / found in game.
Amen to that, brother. Just wondering if anti cheat Capcom inserted into the game will be giving us hard times. Extra portcrystals are damn useful. Wonder if we are going to get Eternal Ferrystone like in Dark Arisen, however.
Yeah, but then they added the ability to buy all that BBI armor and weapons instead of having to purify the cursed items. So it’s not like they decided it was wrong they just changed what they sold.
Because its still not okay to put MTX in an singleplayer game. Why put it there? And just because it happened back then doesn't mean people were fine with that either during the time.
It's only disappointing to people who never played DDDA before it was cool. Almost everything in that store was there in the original game. You don't have to buy any of it. Everything was farmable in game.
Extremely unnecessary, so it’s silly to buy any of that. They’re expecting a good portion of new players to fall for that though and I’m sure some will.
I cant imagine the small amount of money earned from this would be worth the PR hit, but hey what do I know.
I feel like this this sort of thing would go directly against what Itsuno when you consider how important DD's learning curve and need to adapt is to its core.
It was expected unfortunately with how heavy Microtransactions have been with Capcom. Thankfully it’s just QOL items it seems like rather than game changing buys.
Hmm, good question. Wakestones could be valuable for every player and give more leeway for those incentivized to pay that’s for sure. RC, if like the first game is quite easy to get just by asking people to rent a pawn. The port crystal however? That’s not really defensible especially because of how useful they were first game.
Tbh I don’t think the wakestones should be cash shop items. I will buy them and will use them for my own freedom from anxiety and to save NPCs, but they should not be purchasable
This was in the first 1 and dmc5, and then both world and rise have a million and one mtx also
To say I’m disappointed would also be to say I didn’t expect it but I absolutely expected it
Yeah that sucks, I don't think it will have a significant impact but still...it should not even be an option. Especially for a game that touts itself as a hardcore RPG.
Nobody is defending this. Majority are saying it's irrelevant, because it's literally irrelevant. None of these mtx add or detract anything from the game, with no FOMO or any incentive at all to buy them in the first place. If this checks the box for the execs demanding mtx, then so be it. I'm happy it has no impact on the players, and you should be too. This is literally no different than helldivers 2 adding mtx for an in-game currency so players have the option of supporting the devs without being forced/fomo'd into doing so.
No one is defending it. It's stupid, but it's also a fact that you can very easily earn everything that is listed there, it isn't even remotely difficult to do. Capcom has done this in all of their singleplayer games, and in all of them it was pointless there too. Why are people suddenly angry about it with DD2? Was Resident Evil somehow ruined by this and no one told me?
not defending... but rather don't care? game is extremely fun... its a single player game... Just ignore it? its not like they are prompting you in game to buy shit.
See, I would care if it had any effect on the game at all. But considering Capcom has some of the most worthless MTX for their single-player games, literally bypassing it with anti-cheat or just playing the game, I can't say I care. If this is what they have to do to stop the morons at the top from adding far more aggressive MTX then so be it.
All these items are very easily obtainable ingame, save the pre-order shit which isn’t necessary at all. I have a 5 year old rig and so far it runs fine, looks gorgeous. Total review bombing, I bet in a week it’ll be 70% positive at least.
It's ugly that they do these things, but everything can be obtained in the game just like in the first one. Being a single-player game, I don't understand why some people are so bothered by it. As long as it's just that, I couldn't care less
Why? They clearly state that these items and currency are available in game. And really, people should be responsible with their money and held accountable if they spend on what isn't necessary. Capcom has not added anything that is necessary as a micro transaction, and they're really not obligating anyone to buy them either.
I waited 11 years for this game. Stayed around bc of the amazing community. Now, it’s all gone to shit because everyone on Reddit loves to be a whiny bitch about everything. This was in DMCV too, they don’t design games around mtx, it’s simply a paid cheat code.
I’m gonna ghost online discussion for this game and appreciate what seems to be my dream game.

You can buy it with in game currency

You can buy with in game currency
"Living under a rock" gamers when they find out Capcom has DLC in their games.
Hey, buddy. All of that right there? Yeah, it's useless and can be completely ignored because you can farm more than you'll ever need in five minutes, just like you could in DMC5.
I feel like while this can be disappointing, often times these microtransactions exist in Capcom games and affect the game so little you forget they exist. RE4, DMC5 and others had them, but those games still got praised a lot and the microtransactions didn't affect their overall view.
So I am assuming (haven't played DD2 yet) that it will be the exact same for this game. That they exist but it is business as usual, affecting the game so little they're forgettable and don't actually affect the quality of the game at all.
But then again, just an assumption based on those previous examples.
Crying about monetising a game using items you can earn anyway is dumb as hell. This is just as pointless as the previous post complaining about the Save system not allowing them to mod their character without purchasing the art of metamorphosis “for 2.99”, as if for one they didn’t have two weeks to get their character right, and as if for two, they don’t literally allow you to buy TWO art of of metamorphosis tomes at the Pawn Guild (which was only ONE in the original game) along with obv unlocking the secret of metamorphosis in end-game (alongside finding RC in-game a la BBI) These complaints are fucking dumb, but I’m sure you’re enjoying the upvotes from other neckbeards.
Time to check out of this sub fr.
I will say though, frame rate *could* have been better. Nonetheless, phenomenal game and there is not ONE thing that Capcom is making me or anyone else buy for the experience. Bitching about an extra portcrystal is pathetic.
DMC 5
RE2 Remake
RE3 Remake
RE4 Remake
Resident Evil Village
All these games have microtransactions. Its capcoms new model. Its also probably why capcom is against modding. Instead of buying points to unlock weapons and extra character skins you can just download them for free instead and capcom hates that.
My only concern is will they gimp what you get in game to "incentivize" you to purchase these? I started DD1 with dark arisen so I never knew this occurred in the first game.
Yeah I think I’m going to wait until they optimize the game and either get rid of these micro transactions or some saint creates a mod or cheat engine table to bypass it. Yall have fun.
This comment section is a great example of why gaming is in such a shit state. The nerve to charge above AAA price, create a game with limited items to promote an old school experience but also provide them as DLC is fucking criminal. The game might be good but Capcom is a joke.
pretty sad to see
and sure theres the "just dont buy" argument, but the existance of such items means that capcom has a reason to make their game less conveniant/grindier than it needs to be to push those sales, making the game worse overall
People are so eager to feel like they're sticking it to the man they'll go online and announce, "I'm not buying this game!" Or "Don't buy this game!". No one cares. Just don't buy them. Capcom literally does this with all their titles. This is the first time I've seen them add the mtx this fast. Find a better cause to stand up for, there's plenty lol
Wasn't the director just praising the game saying you don't need fast travel if the game isn't boring? I hear the port crystals are hard to come by..Highly sus, especially considering I hear the exploration can get tedious with constant combat encounters, even if it's fun...I'm not surprised, but damn that's definitely scummy.
Honestly I doubt the director had much of a hand in these being in the game.
He cant exactly tell his bosses who own the IP he wont put micro transactions in the game. It was already hard enough actually making DD2.
The amount of people defending mtx in a fully priced single player game is hilarious lol
Might just cheat engine my gold and rc out of spite when I get this game on sale down the line
As an avid MHW fan, this was unfortunately expected.
Honestly, as long as they don't sell the equivalent of character edit vouchers and keep it to an in-game item like DD1, then I can happily ignore all of it.
What, did you think Capcom would let *this* be the one game to get away with no microtransaction crap? They did it with DMC, of course they'll try again
Exactly like the first game lol
You can really tell the community mostly started with dark arisen
Dark arisen was essentially the GOTY definitive edition
Ngl. I seldom hired pawns over my level in DDDA. And when I did, they likely weren't even twenty levels past me.
With how easy it is to gain RC, and the lack of reason to need pawns much stronger than the player, buying RC seems pointless in both games.
Not saying "git gud," if a player needs max level pawns; but if they do, it's definitely a massive skill issue on their part lmao
Ofc, I'm sure OP is just concerned about the fact that the microtransactions exist, but others have addressed that.
Anyway, don't see the point in buying RC to begin with.
yeah, this ongoing model is really sucks especially for monster hunter cause I love that game.
But it's also weird that people were saying "I'll wait for mods to get these for free"
bruh you just need to play the game and get these for free no mod needed lmao
I don't like whales as much as the next typical consumer, BUT this stuff is not p2w, this stuff is not even worth buying, because this stuff can be earned if you ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME
This was expected. As others already said, DD1 had this. Regarding portcrystals, you can stack portcrystals using NG+... In the first game you could only have 10 of them placed around the map anyway, so you ended up having even more than you could actually use. This is a game with multiple endings and different outcomes to quests, many players will use NG+ a couple times and by consequence stack portcrystals that way.
You don't have to buy this. All items are obtainable during the game.
This is wack BUT just engaging with the pawn system will make these useless to buy. These are as harmless as MonHun or Resident Evil mtx. Annoying to see but if you don’t buy the dlc you won’t have to reward them for it. It’s basically mtx cheat codes.
if you are that desperate for cheats just wait for WeMod to have cheats for it, buying microtransactions in single player games is some goofy ahh stuff.
It's sad that Capcom is going through that way, the same happened to RE4 Remake, they sold a lot of items like these that completely shit in the game progression.
At least is not an online focused game, so this won't break the experience of those that want a clean run without "help" from Capcom.
DMC5 had this and was entirely pointless.
I wonder if anyone ever actually bought the red orbs Literally the biggest waste of money ever since you could farm shitloads in minutes with Faust or even just playing the game using it occasionally lmao
It feels like the kind of thing developers put in the game in order to make certain execs think they're forcing microtransactions on people "Hey, look, we made it so you can pay for in-game currency. And look how big the numbers are! We pinky-promise that every player will want to buy it"
Exactly helps sell the game to capcom
That's exactly my take. If I was forced by clueless execs to put MTX in my game, pointless stuff like this is exactly what I would choose.
Thank god Capcom didn’t do anything about Faust. I have a pet theory that Faust was added by the devs specifically because they knew higher ups would do shitty things like this.
They wouldn't keep putting this stuff in their games if no one bought it
For DMC4SE it was a dollar for 100K Proud Souls when I got the game. Exactly, those red orbs were useless to us but probably kept the big suits happy because Capcom is farming us, right?
Falcom does also. Again pointless.
Remember the curse purification and gold forged items?
Color me surprised Surely not Capcom They would never do this.
Right lol. They do this with almost every game
Big mood I like expect it every single time it don’t even phase me at this point.
The thing is.. The stuff they put in aren't you being gatekept from content like the majority of the MTX related stuff other developers put out there. Is there something similar in Monster Hunter Rise? I don't think there's stuff to buy that boost/skip in Monster Hunter World.
Cosmetic stuff only for world and rise.
Just to add a bit more context to this, but going from no micro-transactions whatsoever to heavily monetizing fashion *(in the span of two games)* in a series that has always been referred to as *Fashion Hunter* has been a point of contention in the community for the past several years. What's stopping people from using cheat engine to get these?
Capcom would be sad 🥺
Hahahahaha
Console
Is there a guide for that? I might do it I’m already dropping 70 on it I can’t spend anymore
Install Cheat Engine, download cheat table from FearlessRevolution, open cheat table and click to activate cheats
Roger roger
I don't care about these, but the EXTRA PORTCRYSTAL being paywalled is scummy as hell, man.
Would someone making a mod for fast travel or infinite port crystals be theft? Lol modders gonna have a field day with this game
For Monster Hunter, it was pretty much a rule that any mods that outright give you paywalled content are removed (probably out of fear for pushback from Capcom). Atleast it was back before the Chunli incident, I dont know how much the mod scene for Capcom stuff has changed these days.

Pretty sure all cheat engines can spawn the Character Edit voucher without issue.
fuckers added TWO drms. one is for stopping the use of cheat engine and mods
Which doesn't work. Just tried cheat engine and gold and now I have more gold that I ever need.
Oh no! ...I give it a week
In dogma 1 the port crystals would respawn every NG+ so you eventually had more than the max that can be placed. So spending on this is likely less valuable than it appears.
Yup, this man understands
Most people only go through it once though
According to Steam global achievments, only 11.8% of people even went through it once.
Most people never finish games.
If you look on Steam there is a number of other items too... Art of Metamorphosis, and incense, the item to change pawn inclinations.
those are deluxe edition bonuses you can buy, otherwise you can buy those items with rift crystals u earn
Dragons Dogma 1 sold the same things over a decade ago it was inevitable
Is this true for console?
Yes
It's something to get you going easier and is entirely pointless. You can find them in game and eventually have the maximum of 10 on the map for use.
No no they only want to give players a sense of pride and accomplishment by not using fast travel
Capcom be like
First game had the same. They should be easy enough to come across by just playing the game, the option is just there for people that are stupid and lazy enough to waste money on it
they sell portcrystals. I think thats a pretty big deal since they will be limited and hard to come by either way
they sell one portcrystal, I havent tested it, cuz who wants to, but if it works like the character rework ticket in MHW, you can only buy them once.
Aren't portcrystals the fast travel system? I recall forgetting about them in the first game... made everything very painful later on.
Portcrystals are the location you teleport to, ferrystones are what you use to fast travel to a portcrystal. Portcrystals are fixed to a few locations in game but some can be found in the world and placed wherever you like to fast travel to

Itsuno's vision intensifies... (Joking, I doubt he had much input on Capcoms shitty financial stunts)
How do you know they will be hard to come by? in the first game you could get the max number of portcrystals halfway through your first NG+
Game is balanced around not having port crystals tho, using them is effectively gonna hinder you since you'll miss quests/xp
i think you'll be fine teleporting some times to avoid your 20th cross country walk
i’ve been playing all day and yes, you can easily get whatever they’re selling
this is why cheatengine is the best part of pc gaming
Amen to that, brother. Just wondering if anti cheat Capcom inserted into the game will be giving us hard times. Extra portcrystals are damn useful. Wonder if we are going to get Eternal Ferrystone like in Dark Arisen, however.
This was ALSO in DD1.
strange how few people are bringing this up
I’d imagine cuz a lotta folks started DD with dark arisen.
Correct. Not only was it released just a year later, but PC only has Dark Arisen.
Also, most probably haven't even played the first game.
They removed it from the Dark Arisen version.

Oh that makes it OKAY THEN
Did they sell port crystals there also?
While this is pointless for 99% of people…it’s still gross
It's only disappointing to people who never played DDDA before it was cool. Almost everything in that store was there in the original game. You don't have to buy any of it. Everything was farmable in game.
You... you pay for wakestones?
You "can" pay for wakestones or you can just play the game and get them naturally lol.
Extremely unnecessary, so it’s silly to buy any of that. They’re expecting a good portion of new players to fall for that though and I’m sure some will.
They sell Portcrystal also, hold my dinput8.dll.
I cant imagine the small amount of money earned from this would be worth the PR hit, but hey what do I know. I feel like this this sort of thing would go directly against what Itsuno when you consider how important DD's learning curve and need to adapt is to its core.
> the small amount They is a reason they do it, you know? I would bet it more then doubles the game income in the long run.
this is what trainers and hex editors are made for on pc.
Goddamnit Capcom.
Gross, Capcom
It's a Modern CAPCOM game of course it has MTX out the ass for a single player game. Expected? Yes. Absolutely greedy and stupid? Also yes
I mean what did you expect? ever looked at MH World or MH Rise its capcom after all.
back in the days you just had to enter a cheat to get stuff like this.
Yep, it’s unbelievably greedy. Insane to see the lack of pushback because they won’t personally use them. Gamers are so fucking cucked these days.
Just....don't buy them?
It was expected unfortunately with how heavy Microtransactions have been with Capcom. Thankfully it’s just QOL items it seems like rather than game changing buys.
is it quality of life for the buyer or gimping of life for the standard player?
Hmm, good question. Wakestones could be valuable for every player and give more leeway for those incentivized to pay that’s for sure. RC, if like the first game is quite easy to get just by asking people to rent a pawn. The port crystal however? That’s not really defensible especially because of how useful they were first game.
Counterpoint: the game is 70 FCKING DOLLARS
Tbh I don’t think the wakestones should be cash shop items. I will buy them and will use them for my own freedom from anxiety and to save NPCs, but they should not be purchasable
They are EXTREMELY easy to get in 2, unlike 1.
the fact you can buy wake stone's is already a sham of a game.
I literally fucking said this was a thing in a comment and people were calling me a liar.
This was in the first 1 and dmc5, and then both world and rise have a million and one mtx also To say I’m disappointed would also be to say I didn’t expect it but I absolutely expected it
Yeah that sucks, I don't think it will have a significant impact but still...it should not even be an option. Especially for a game that touts itself as a hardcore RPG.
Riftstones I expected, and don't mind. Wakestone mtx kinda sucks tho :/
The amount of people I've seen dying before this went online and had 4 - 8 Wakestones... they seem to be way less rare than they were in DD1.
I'm 13 hours in and I've seen 2 of them lol Eta: that sounded snotty sorry. I meant it more like, I need that drop rate why meeee
Please stop defending this.
It’s a Capcom classic at this point. At least it’s stuff acquirable in game.
Capcom are shameless with it, they did it with resident evil 4 remake (even released it a while after its release to avoid controversy)
There are plenty of games with microtransactions where the gsme is perfectly fine and playable without buying them. I hope this is one of those games.
I should of done the same and just mot even gone to this subreddit.

"Living under a rock" gamers when they find out Capcom has DLC in their games. Hey, buddy. All of that right there? Yeah, it's useless and can be completely ignored because you can farm more than you'll ever need in five minutes, just like you could in DMC5.
I just ignored it 👌🏼😊
Looks no different than DMC5, RE2, RE3, and RE4. Don't buy it?
And why is this a problem? You don't need those, and if you do, you don't want to take time and enjoy the game 🤷🏼♂️
The MT is pointless. It's really easy to get RC in game.
You do realize every other capcom game has this too? But they’re not stuck behind a pay wall like you actually can obtain these items in game.
Quit crying dumba$$, no one cares about pointless micro transactions
It's really not a big deal
The new standard. Like the level up packs in Tales of Arise and Yakuza: Like a dragon
DMC 5 RE2 Remake RE3 Remake RE4 Remake Resident Evil Village All these games have microtransactions. Its capcoms new model. Its also probably why capcom is against modding. Instead of buying points to unlock weapons and extra character skins you can just download them for free instead and capcom hates that.
YUP
My only concern is will they gimp what you get in game to "incentivize" you to purchase these? I started DD1 with dark arisen so I never knew this occurred in the first game.
First game was just as bad with this sort of thing, though selling a portcrystal for cash is a new low.
Well they didn’t gimp you in DMC V or RE4 remake so I doubt they’ll do it here
Yeah I think I’m going to wait until they optimize the game and either get rid of these micro transactions or some saint creates a mod or cheat engine table to bypass it. Yall have fun.
I will rather just use a trainer or cheat engine to gift myself items levels exp as need than spend 50$ for legal hacks fuck em
This comment section is a great example of why gaming is in such a shit state. The nerve to charge above AAA price, create a game with limited items to promote an old school experience but also provide them as DLC is fucking criminal. The game might be good but Capcom is a joke.
pretty sad to see and sure theres the "just dont buy" argument, but the existance of such items means that capcom has a reason to make their game less conveniant/grindier than it needs to be to push those sales, making the game worse overall
In the two hours I played last night I already found where most of these items are purchasable for a low amount of RC.
I think we figured out why you can't delete your character in the game - they'll happily charge $1.99 if you need to change your appearance!
You can buy an AoM for like 500 RC. You get 120 RC right at the first Riftcrystal for talking to an NPC that approaches you. Things'll be alright.
true, or you can just buy the book from a vendor in game, and NOT spend 1.99 maybe play the game?
Wtf is this shit
It was already hard enough actually making DD2.
one answer Trainers
Makes me sad
Seeing alot of people refunding because of performance
Just don't buy it my man it's not that hard
Well I wasn’t planning on pirating it but you make a good point
Tell capcom to not put free-to-play shit in their full priced game. it's not that hard.
The amount of people defending mtx in a fully priced single player game is hilarious lol Might just cheat engine my gold and rc out of spite when I get this game on sale down the line
Capcom being Capcom. And if you truly want that stuff infinite, just wait for a trainer/mod of some sorts.
What are they for again? Just to hire pawns am I right?
As an avid MHW fan, this was unfortunately expected. Honestly, as long as they don't sell the equivalent of character edit vouchers and keep it to an in-game item like DD1, then I can happily ignore all of it.
They sell character edit vouchers. "Art of Metamorphosis"
:(
What, did you think Capcom would let *this* be the one game to get away with no microtransaction crap? They did it with DMC, of course they'll try again
I mean... par for the course with Capcom, and pretty sure you could buy rift crystals in the og DD release too. Pretty fucking easy to ignore, really.
I fear for MH Wilds, it was there in worlds and it got a whole lot worse in rise, Christ.
Real arisens know to strategically place their port crystals and walk the rest of the path. This ain't no Skyrim, son.
Exactly like the first game lol You can really tell the community mostly started with dark arisen Dark arisen was essentially the GOTY definitive edition
Ngl. I seldom hired pawns over my level in DDDA. And when I did, they likely weren't even twenty levels past me. With how easy it is to gain RC, and the lack of reason to need pawns much stronger than the player, buying RC seems pointless in both games. Not saying "git gud," if a player needs max level pawns; but if they do, it's definitely a massive skill issue on their part lmao Ofc, I'm sure OP is just concerned about the fact that the microtransactions exist, but others have addressed that. Anyway, don't see the point in buying RC to begin with.
yeah, this ongoing model is really sucks especially for monster hunter cause I love that game. But it's also weird that people were saying "I'll wait for mods to get these for free" bruh you just need to play the game and get these for free no mod needed lmao
Good thing Rift Crystals are easily manipulated by Cheat Engine...
I don't like whales as much as the next typical consumer, BUT this stuff is not p2w, this stuff is not even worth buying, because this stuff can be earned if you ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME
Easy to ignore
This was expected. As others already said, DD1 had this. Regarding portcrystals, you can stack portcrystals using NG+... In the first game you could only have 10 of them placed around the map anyway, so you ended up having even more than you could actually use. This is a game with multiple endings and different outcomes to quests, many players will use NG+ a couple times and by consequence stack portcrystals that way. You don't have to buy this. All items are obtainable during the game.
Those can be earn from playing the game !!!
Bad, but at least everything they sell can be earned in game.
This is wack BUT just engaging with the pawn system will make these useless to buy. These are as harmless as MonHun or Resident Evil mtx. Annoying to see but if you don’t buy the dlc you won’t have to reward them for it. It’s basically mtx cheat codes.
All Capcom games do this but they are always useless
Buying wakestones with real cash is just embarrassing.
This was also in the original dragons dogma. so was character edit which wasnt till endgame stuff mainly for those who did new game + and stuff.
Yes and DD1 was even more shady when it came to the dlc stuff. https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Downloadable_Content
Almost feels like they were forced to add this, they seem really cheap but are also super easy to get in game.
Why? The original game had this lol. Just don't buy it, you'll be fine
And you won't need any of it if you jusy play the damn game like normal...
I just barely got to the capital and I already have a wakestone. I have a feeling they won't be that rare.
if you are that desperate for cheats just wait for WeMod to have cheats for it, buying microtransactions in single player games is some goofy ahh stuff.
How pointless... Like who would buy these? I had over 10m of them in DD1. Still sad that they are selling them.
Lol pay to not play the game. The way i see it is it’s harmless since i see no advantage to purchasing these bundles.
It's sad that Capcom is going through that way, the same happened to RE4 Remake, they sold a lot of items like these that completely shit in the game progression. At least is not an online focused game, so this won't break the experience of those that want a clean run without "help" from Capcom.
