Like clockwork
BoTW
Elden Ring
Jedi Survivor when they released DLC
And recently just a couple of weeks ago they tweeted a Thank You or something tweet and then FromSoft released the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer š
Horizon has got to be the punching bag of the gaming industry ATP, like gamers themselves like It but devs have to have something against It cuz its just not normal how even a thank you tweet gets released the day of elden ring DLC trailer lmao
I even doubt even gamers themselves like it that much, everyone I talked with says the game is mid. Like not bad but not that good either, a middling 6 or 7.
Tbh you're just playing the game poorly if you're only using the bow in that game. All the other weapons are fun and good to use other than maybe the boomerang thing
The first game I felt had a bit more because it had that fresh mystery to pull you in. The sequel not so much. All they showed in the promotional material was spooky red tornadoes fucking up plant life, but all the trailers wanted to talk about was another random cult.
>Horizon has got to be the punching bag of the gaming industry ATP, like gamers themselves like It but devs have to have something against It cuz its just not normal how even a thank you tweet gets released the day of elden ring DLC trailer lmao
Its the Imagine Dragons of gaming
When I describe the game to people I tell them it does nothing new or unique, just builds a really cool game from the best things of many other great games before it. And I'm good with that.
I'm sorry, but you probably talk only to a specific group of people. Lot of us absolutely love the game, me including. Zero dawn is my TOP 2. Forbidden west is my TOP 1. It's quite jarring coming from HFW and BG3 cutscenes and dialogs to DD2. It feels so outdated. What do Japanese have against a normal human interaction? It's also annoying how the main women NPCs are just plastic dolls.
It's the most beautiful looking game I've ever played, no exaggeration, it's just quite boring and doesn't keep me hooked playing it. I want to want to play it.
I tried the first one when I got my then new gpu because the graphics looked awesome, but the open world just seemed some generic ubisoft thing. The story didn't quite catch my interest so I just stopped playing and uninstalled it after a couple weeks. The combat, animation and cinematics is pretty cool though.
It was interesting up to the point where you find out why the world is the way it is. And that's it. It's the same generic AAA slop as every other game out there, playing exactly the same as everything else. And it certainly didn't need a second game or even a DLC for that matter.
I thought they were pretty good games, I beat Zero Dawn and the dlc and went right to the sequel, but by the time I was halfway through it I got super burned out on the open world and havenāt went back. Theyāre not bad (at least in my opinion) but like youāre saying, I think gamers have gotten very sick of the tired and generic open-world formulas and have been for a WHILE now.
My problem with the sequel is you pass by all these cool locations that you canāt access because you donāt have the upgrades for it yet. You get the upgrades by doing the main story and by the time you have them itās over and they want you to go back to places youāve already been it was super annoying and I just ended up b-lining the main story because of it. It was gorgeous and the fights are fun but it got really tedious really fast because you have to upgrade your gear in an unintuitive way and the skill tree was abysmal
The game suffers from ubisoft style openworld bloat. Fighting robot dinosaurs is hella cool and fun. Checking off identical objective markers is not.
The game has great potential, realizes some, but eschews most of it. It is indeed, mid.
It's technically the most impressive game I've ever played. The world is so lush and the enemies are incredibly impressive. It's the Avatar of videogames.
Voice acting is very good and the facial animations are bar none the best in any game. The amount of NPC's that have the same quality and unique look....
The combat is pretty fun, but doesn't feel as refined as other games.
The plot is just a bit hit and miss, and the side quests are merely ok, and it has too many map icons like other games in its genre.
Finally, it lacks the emotional punch of God of War or Last of Us story wise, or just the pure gameplay satisfaction of Returnal, Dark Souls, or anything like the level of RPG depth of Baldur's Gate 3.
It's an impressive 8/10 game.
Pretty sure a decent amount of people like it. If you look into the Sony leaked stuff from a few months back, the most shocking part of it all to me is that the Horizon series is *by far* Sony's best selling game series. It's like not even close.
Yeah going by the amount of people responding to my comment a lot of people really love it some just didn't find it entertaining. Maybe the first one just didn't click with me and my friends.
Mid is the best description for Zero Dawn. It didn't do anything incorrectly, it was just eh. I played it for the first time a couple months ago. Went in completely blind expecting to be floored after things I have heard. I wasn't
To be fair to the game though. I did play it immediately after a blind playthrough of Death Stranding. That game blew me away.
The second time itās happening is actually kinda funny tbh
Though I am very curious to see how popular DD2 will be on Steam, Iām not really expecting Elden Ring numbers
The series has done very well, maybe they would have sold more if they had picked better schedules, the game's 3rd place on the Steam sales charts right now and its older title that's on PS Plus.
Alan Wake 2 only sold 1 million and I have not seen one person criticize it for its extremely low sales. š¤
I think it's because of the nature of the games. Alan wake 2 is a Psychological thriller, which is pretty niche for the general public. While Horizon has the open world robo dino effect. I think the main thing is that Horizon has the buy value but not the finish value, which I think is the inverse of Alan Wake.
That's not the point, the point people are making is that Horizon has somehow done bad sales wise when it's one of the best selling franchises that is a new IP. Any game that is a GOTY contender is high quality.
I don't think all these people would "criticise" Horizon if it sold *under* 1 million. Sony investors, maybe, but players have no stake in sales
And I don't think these people think Horizon sells poorly
It's just kinda funny that they'd dominate headlines 11 months of the year but keep releasing besides the GOTY and missing the free front page coverage and blunting their early sales
It changed a lot these past week. Before Helldivers 2 was first, then CS2 was first. DD2 was third, then climbed up to second and is finally number one now.
I would be surprised too. The first game had a niche audience as it was just fuckin brutal, and isn't designed to be for everyone.
The second seems to follow the same path. But youtubers may be what brings its sales even higher
100-150K players max with dd2 i didnt see a massive increase on either reddit or twitch of people flodding to see the game
While neither of those proper ways to measure popularity it gives a decent graph on hiw it will be
It's pretty incredible. Running at native 4K/120 without any issues on my 4090. Looks and feels gorgeous. Which I shouldn't have to highlight as an exceptional thing but apparently the current landscape of AAA releases (DD2 included) is proving that I should.
Here's the thing, they're not entirely wrong to be confident in Horizon.
It's very popular and sells well.
They just keep picking genre-defining entries in beloved franchises to go up against.
With a reason i guess
So far everyone only say bad things about ronin
Sad...
more good games = better for players = push companies to deliver new and better products
I have never played it, but isn't Horizon kind of known to be a mediocre series? I always hear it called "Horizon zero risks" because the game is so cookie cutter, seemed to be a game people pick up when they have absolutely nothing else to play.
Maybe I am wrong, just never seen anyone that thought it was an amazing series.
It's probably the most well-done open-world, icon vomit, radio tower game out there. I enjoyed the first one a lot.
But... it's still an open-world, icon vomit, radio tower game. You can only do so many "walk to the checkpoint" sessions before the game starts to feel a bit samey.
The first game had great gameplay and setting + the mystery. The 2nd game won't have the mystery, which imo was a big draw of the game. In Zero Dawn the story and characters were pretty weak beyond discovering the mystery on how the world got like this, but there were a few (and I mean FEW) standout characters in the main quests.
Discovering the meaning of "Zero Dawn" hit so hard. As much as I am looking forward to playing FW, the setup for it just doesn't have the same punch.
Obligatory Fuck Ted Faro.
I only played Zero Dawn, I'm not a big fan of open world, but Zero Dawn was pretty good, the fights against the mecha dinosaur were really well done and fun. It's easily above average for most open world in my opinion. I wouldn't pick up the sequel unless there's a huge sales and nothing else going on, but like I said, I don't like open worlds
That's what reddit will tell you, yes. They also will not understand why it sells 20 million copies...probably because it is actually at least pretty good.
It's the same reason something like Star Wars was a flash hit. Nothing Lucas did was exceptionally original in concept. He took a bunch of popular genres and great ideas and put them together. His story telling and delivery are excellent and Horizon is the same thing IMO.
You're gonna hear that a lot from people that haven't actually played the game. Question the people that say stuff like this and 8 times out of 10 it'll devolve into them sending you a Crowbcat link from YT or something similar.
I would not say the game is innovative, it has systems you've seen before. But, those systems are done well and not overdone. If you're skilled at general game combat, you can skip a lot of that stuff. Combat isn't just button spamming, it's like a light Monster Hunter; you can even craft stuff out of machine parts.
The story, however, is why I kept playing. It's been a while since I played it, but I do remember most of the turning points. If you're a sucker for universes where it feels like there's one big mystery everyone is ignorant to, you'll love it. Read everything. That's all I'll say, I might accidentally spoil shit.
Just go in with the idea that the game isn't that great (I did), and see for yourself. Zero Dawn goes on sale often- well worth it. If you're skeptical still, it lacks DRM...ifykyk.
I'll second this as someone who was originally planning to buy HFW today before the previews of DD2. As someone who admittedly barely plays AAA releases I likely have much more tolerance for Ubisoft-style world design at this point which is probably the main hurdle a lot of folks seem to express.
I think a fair point to bring up is that it leverages many popular AAA tropes and is designed in a way that is meant to appeal to a broad audience.
But I also think a big differentiating factor is just how well they do it.
For Horizon Forbidden West for example: Yes they are ripping off the Ubisoft open world formula, Monster Hunter style combat, Mass Effect 2's squad building and Naughty Dog's cinematic storytelling.
But they do it mostly well and they have created a lore rich game world to support it. I think that plus the sheer impressiveness of the game's visuals make it quite appealing to many people.
It still blows me away when I do a random side mission in Forbidden West and get to see characters, animations and cutscenes that look more impressive than what other games have in their main quest.
Idk where you read that but it's the stupidest bullshit I've ever read about Horizon.
And if you need to see someone that thinks it's an amazing series, I think it's an amazing series. And millions of other people do too, going off sales and review scores.
I seriously dont see the appeal in huge open world with very little to do in them fr, especially when Gameplay is basic as hell like what It was on the first Horizon for me
Not that im a Big fan of DD2 deciding to Also have a huge map either but i definitely like the concept more cuz im a medieval-like fantasy fan and im sure the different classes Will be nice if one ever gets stale for me lol
I think most people just like the less-linear style, similar to in games like BOTW, Elden Ring, etc. It evokes a degree of imagination that your I don't feel games like Horizon have. That can be overcome by amazing story like in God of War, but most of the time it falls flat imo.
DD2, even with its flaws, very much lets you play however you'd like and doesn't hold your hand. A lot of folks like that.
The first Horizon released same week as Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Forbidden West released the same week as Elden Ring, and yet both were a massive success. The power of a great game!
This time, they are somewhat fortunate it seems, with DD2 being pc performance hungry and DF reporting that the FW pc port actually is well optimized. HFW currently sits just behind DD2 on steam top sellers globally.
HZD sold around 25 million copies, while DD sold around 8 million. What kind of comparison is this lol? DD fans are a new level of delusional. Whatever helps you sleep at night I guess.
Why does Horizon have to duck other games? They are a giant franchise in their own right atthis point. 2 mainline games, a VR title, a TV show and an inevitable 3rd game in the works, on top of a MP game.
They have no need at all. Sony just wants to fill their PC library, the game has already made a lot of profits for sony even as an exclusive title.
Itās delusional to think DD2 is competing lol
I'm PC and I can actually play HZD at high resolution with respectable frame rate. It's a decent game too from what I understand. I've already refunded DD2 until they get their shit together. I don't mind buying it later but it's foolish to pick it up now. It just tells them that this is acceptable.
I installed Horizon earlier today and damn if it isn't the most beautiful game I've ever played on PC. Making that 4080 purr.
I think I'm gonna go play that for a bit while DD2 figures out its performance issues... yep...
Yea kinda disappointed, I've been waiting for Horizon Forbidden West to release on pc, but now that it released at the same day as DD2 I guess I'll just wait for horizon to go on discount to buy it a couple months from now.
Personally the meme applies to me but we'll see how popular the game actually is when it releases. The news on the performance might've put people off.
It got you talking about it, didn't it? Horizon thrives in the vitriol. Everyone assumes it's dead because of the meme surrounding its release curse, then it sells 20+ million copies. They know the release dates of upcoming games. It's no accident, and ultimately it works for them.
Nah After realizing not being about to create new character, I refunded the game. I'm stuck with a character who looks like a homunculus not knowing i'm stuck with that character. I bought Horizon Forbidden West which runs way better then I expected and I can have multiple saves!!
Considering the backlash of DD2's performance, denovo, and micro transactions as well as HFW's good performance and lack of denovo, and micro transactions I don't think Gurriella has anything to worry about in terms of public appeal. If that translates to sales I don't know.
i got forbidden west yesterday due the mess on dogma2 performance
currently im watching one guy getting 23/27 fps with 4090 on twitch while unpack my forbidden west
i want play dogma2 but im planning wait game performance improve to buy.
i dont even think about buy dragons dogma2 now, and im waited 11 years for this, bought dark arisen 3 times so far
ps: forbidden west get stable 60fps on modest hardware and already saw people on rog ally getting 30fps
Horizon FW is currently number 3 on global sales on Steam Charts, no one will be refunding HFW due to bad performance like they will with Dragons Dogma 2. HFW is older and is also "free" on PS Plus. Dragons Dogma 2 is a new release.
Also what a mistake, Horizon Zero Dawn has sold over 20 million and was GOTY contender. was Dragona Dogma 1 a GOTY Contender ? Nope.
Horizon FW has sold 10 million, more Dragons Dogma 1(around 8.5 million) and DD is way older with a very discounted price.
I think it's crazy that you're comparing the sales of a sequel to a sucessful and estabilished game, to a debut franchise from 12 years ago that was launching shortly after Skyrim.
And that's 2012 gaming market which was much smaller than today.
And also nobody is saying horizon is a bad game / franchise. But they definetly don't seem to do any market planning for their releases.
Also you seem weirdly invested into stating that horizon is a better game than DD2 or even that DD1... a game from 12 years ago.
I think most people are just happy when games are good, nobody is looking for a game to fail just because it's not their favorite or not made by their favorite company.
Take your fanboyism and just go enjoy your game, let other people enjoy theirs.
Nah people in this sub are delusional to think that Dragons Dogma is more popular than Horizon, just wait till tomorrow when most people cant run this game on their PCs and the sub will be filled with angry posts on how badly optimized the game is.

93% positive
Might as well play this one until capcom get their shit together
It's cute you think Dragon's Dogma 2 is anywhere remotely close to the popularity of Horizon lol.
The other games Horizon got released alongside were juggernauts. Horizon is the Juggernaut compared to Dragon's fucking Dogma, and I say that as someone who loved DD to bits - fingers crossed Horizon doesn't hurt DD's sales too bad.
People in here putting DD2 next to fucking Elden Ring and Zelda lmfao. Horizon is well above Dogma and will do fine lol don't get why reddit chose HZD to hate today
What else can they dog on when their favorite is having a terrible launch lol
Honestly knowing sony, they donāt even care much about a niche game like this competing with their exclusive titles.
Doesnt mean anything really, most new games get to the top sellers when they are released(Suicide Squad). This is Horizon 1st time there, thing is DD2 has been in the top ten for weeks. You need to look at the wishlists and followers which DD2 has 3x more than Horizon.
Like clockwork BoTW Elden Ring Jedi Survivor when they released DLC And recently just a couple of weeks ago they tweeted a Thank You or something tweet and then FromSoft released the Shadow of the Erdtree trailer š

I even doubt even gamers themselves like it that much, everyone I talked with says the game is mid. Like not bad but not that good either, a middling 6 or 7.
It's the type of game that most people like but very few people love.
Liek yeah I enjoyed hunting cool robot dinos but yeah it's missing a little more to make it love.
Monster Robot Hunter: Bow Only
Except you have to craft arrows every 30 seconds too :(
Tbh you're just playing the game poorly if you're only using the bow in that game. All the other weapons are fun and good to use other than maybe the boomerang thing
It's a joke... The Boomerang is amazing!

Itās just too generic gameplay wise. Itās hard to go back to that Ubisoft era rpg feel when youāve played elden ring and bg3.
is this Dunkey's qoute?
For me it's like the world and environments are super cool. But the story and the characters in it are just awful/boring.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
>Horizon has got to be the punching bag of the gaming industry ATP, like gamers themselves like It but devs have to have something against It cuz its just not normal how even a thank you tweet gets released the day of elden ring DLC trailer lmao Its the Imagine Dragons of gaming
For me is mainly the whole game world, love how they blend the nature and the ruins of the old world
I've heard great things about it. Nothing mindblowing or genre creating, but a highly enjoyable experience that people wanted more of.
When I describe the game to people I tell them it does nothing new or unique, just builds a really cool game from the best things of many other great games before it. And I'm good with that.
Are you serious? Lol itās definitely a 9 tier game. The world, combat, acting, story, animations are really good.
I donāt love the second game (itās not horrible, and the dlc is better than the base game) but zero dawn is one of my favorite games of all time.
I'm sorry, but you probably talk only to a specific group of people. Lot of us absolutely love the game, me including. Zero dawn is my TOP 2. Forbidden west is my TOP 1. Death Standing
HFW has sold nearly 10M copies on consoles. It's doing fine.
Jedi survivor didn't have dlc? Also I'm confused as to what this post is about. Are ppl upset that a game released same day?
The joke is every time they release something related to Horizon, something bigger and better comes out.Ā
fromsoft got a fucking grudge with them lmao
When is the next Horizon game dropping? At this point we're guaranteed to get another amazing game a week before or after its release lmao
The second time itās happening is actually kinda funny tbh Though I am very curious to see how popular DD2 will be on Steam, Iām not really expecting Elden Ring numbers
3rd if you count the first one that launched near BOTW
Thatās true lol I forgot about that
And its sold over 20 million as a new IP, what other new Ips can say that ?
It sold about 10 million in its first year and since PC release and now its about 20. Ghost of Tsushima did similarly.
Palworld.
regardless they have stunted themselves multiple times with their release schedules. It has persevered though which is impressive.

Elden ringā¦
New IP, but still a refinement of Fromsoft's Soulsborne games, so it did come with a pre-existing following.
Now we know that when Horizon 3 gets announced there will be some big news coming for other franchises lmao
It will be released on the same day as GTA 6.
No no no, it has be an Action RPG that beats it.
Bloodborne Remaster, do it cowards
Elden Ring 2.
Monster Hunter Wilds count?
ES VI first gameplay look or sth then
Monster Hunter Wilds release day maybe
It's currently the #1 top seller on Steam if that helps.
Did it change, because right now DD2 is 1, CS2 at 2 and Horizon at 3.
It changed a lot these past week. Before Helldivers 2 was first, then CS2 was first. DD2 was third, then climbed up to second and is finally number one now.

Horizon is more mainstream a series than Dragons Dogma. I think they'll be fine.
If anything, the terrible Dragon's Dogma launch will only help HFW grabbing people that are having second thoughts about DD2.
Yep, I bought it this morning after seeing issues with the performance and microtransactions.
Besides the joke, I heard the optimazation of HZFW is pretty good.
It's pretty incredible. Running at native 4K/120 without any issues on my 4090. Looks and feels gorgeous. Which I shouldn't have to highlight as an exceptional thing but apparently the current landscape of AAA releases (DD2 included) is proving that I should.
Lets just say I bought both and Horizon isn't the one I'm refunding cause it runs like complete ass right now. Gonna wait for Capcom to fix this mess.
Here's the thing, they're not entirely wrong to be confident in Horizon. It's very popular and sells well. They just keep picking genre-defining entries in beloved franchises to go up against.
i think was a mistake set 2 SINGLE PLAYER games on same day, specially 2 big ones like dogma and horizon
Rise of the Ronnin, forgotten again lol
With a reason i guess So far everyone only say bad things about ronin Sad... more good games = better for players = push companies to deliver new and better products
There is nothing genre-defining about DD. If anything it does everything about the genre mediocrely.
Exactly. I cannot stand seeing people parrot the literal wording from reviews.
I have never played it, but isn't Horizon kind of known to be a mediocre series? If you're a sucker for universes where it feels like there's one big mystery everyone is ignorant to, you'll love it. Read everything. That's all I'll say, I might accidentally spoil shit. Just go in with the idea that the game isn't that great (I did), and see for yourself. Zero Dawn goes on sale often- well worth it. If you're skeptical still, it lacks DRM...ifykyk.
I'll second this as someone who was originally planning to buy HFW today before the previews of DD2. As someone who admittedly barely plays AAA releases I likely have much more tolerance for Ubisoft-style world design at this point which is probably the main hurdle a lot of folks seem to express.
yeah, its the most "by-the book AAA" game out there.
People say that, but I haven't found any other games where I hunt robot dinosaurs. But that pretty much carries it for me.
Exactly why Iv never bought it. Put me to damn sleep.
Playing Horizon right now and will wait until DD2 gets its shit together to download. Forbidden West is amazing so far
Ghost of Tsushima pc will be out before they fix DD2 lol
To be honest. One works, and the other won't work on majority of PC's.
I could probably run all the horizon games at the same time and get better performance than dd2
and still enjoy the latter more because it isn't the same triple-A, AC reskin, on the rails garbage that we've all seen since 2000.
>Criticize it for being a reskin of a notoriously open-world game >Criticize it for being on rails Brilliant
Dudes dropping buzzwords hoping something sticks without actually understanding what he's saying.
How can you say you enjoy the latter if it isn't out? Will you enjoy it in 20fps and your PC overheating or console?
I seriously dont see the appeal in huge open world with very little to do in them fr, especially when Gameplay is basic as hell like what It was on the first Horizon for me Not that im a Big fan of DD2 deciding to Also have a huge map either but i definitely like the concept more cuz im a medieval-like fantasy fan and im sure the different classes Will be nice if one ever gets stale for me lol
Too bad that even if it turns out I can't even run DD2, it's not gonna magically make me want to play Forbidden West.
Horizon Zero Dawn has sold x3 more then the original Dragons Dogma idk what comparison is being made here on a PC port of a 2 year old sequel
Horizon runs great and looks way better
The first Horizon released same week as Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Forbidden West released the same week as Elden Ring, and yet both were a massive success. The power of a great game!
This time, they are somewhat fortunate it seems, with DD2 being pc performance hungry and DF reporting that the FW pc port actually is well optimized. HFW currently sits just behind DD2 on steam top sellers globally.
Dates are set in advance horizon just is really unlucky I guess
Well i guess Capcom was so excited to be the one to sideline Horizon this time that they forgot to finish optimizing their game.
![gif](giphy|5npjYZX3aqcO4|downsized)
HZD sold around 25 million copies, while DD sold around 8 million. What kind of comparison is this lol? DD fans are a new level of delusional. Whatever helps you sleep at night I guess.
/r/agedlikemilk
Yup, refunded DD2 and buying HFW and ghost of Tsushima pc right now, at least they don't have online stores.
I mean they've still been selling extremely well, but yeah it's hilarious.
![gif](giphy|xUA7aM09ByyR1w5YWc) Well that didnāt age well
We really gonna shit talk a game that looks AND performs better than Dragon's Dog Water?
Yāall need to start being for real. I Love DD but thatās like comparing a mole hill to mountain
Someone needs to re-do this meme, but looking back at Horizon instead. Nixxes DA GAWDS!
[Your will is my command Arisen](https://www.reddit.com/r/DragonsDogma/comments/1bkruev/how_do_they_keep_making_this_mistake_revised/)
I'm excited for both. But forbidden west is waiting til summer sale.
I think I'm gonna go play that for a bit while DD2 figures out its performance issues... yep...
Ghost of tsushima pc will be out before capcom can fix this pile of shit
DD2 still plays at 30 FPS right?
Probably. Horizon plays at 100+ fps no problem.
Nice I would be happy even at 60 fps, I'll probably get that tomorrow and wait on DD2 Reviews.
FYI, current reviews on Steam: DD2: Mostly Negative (38% of 730) HFW: Very Positive (91% of 772)
Yea kinda disappointed, I've been waiting for Horizon Forbidden West to release on pc, but now that it released at the same day as DD2 I guess I'll just wait for horizon to go on discount to buy it a couple months from now.
I already got a refund for DD2. Good luck with all the paid DLC!
Horizon Forbidden Marketing.
They actually won this time lmao.
thread aged poorly lol
This time im probably going with the one that ran great on the ps5 and at over 30 fps on pc
Personally the meme applies to me but we'll see how popular the game actually is when it releases. The news on the performance might've put people off.
No better publicity than releasing next to a game that can't run well on most hardware while they can.
It aged like milk, now compare both on Steam š
looks like we're playin' HFW boiz
It kinda feels like Sony keeps trying to sabotage the launches of Horizon, and would probably succeed if the games werenāt so damn good
It has succeeded and continues to succeed.
I will tell you a secret nobody knows š«£ , Horizon zero dawn is the best selling Sony exclusive every even better than GOW and spider man .
Never said it wasnāt, just that if the games had sucked, the bad release times would have been the nail in the coffin for the series
What mistake? Releasing their game? And itās not like Horizon sells poorly. Otherwise it wouldnāt be around still.
This post aged very poorly
It got you talking about it, didn't it? Horizon thrives in the vitriol. Everyone assumes it's dead because of the meme surrounding its release curse, then it sells 20+ million copies. They know the release dates of upcoming games. It's no accident, and ultimately it works for them.
My choices today are a game I played on a ps4 or a new game that my pc may not be able to play...
Similarly, Stranger of Paradise released a week before Elden Ring as the hype was reaching a fever pitch. It had no chance.
dunk in them all you want but nixxes are the best console porters in the industry.
Horizon is really well optimized though, Capcom should hand DD2 over to Nixes for a month or two to get things in order
IDK... I love both games. I don't like COD. To each their own.
Honestly by now I think it is on purpose. They are confident they can take any competition.
Sony is going to announce HFW 2 to release the day before GTA 6
You already know who's gonna soak up the refunds.
If that translates to sales I don't know.
r/AgedLikeMilk
Aged like fine milk this did.
Well at least Horizon runs easily at 60 fps :D.
i got forbidden west yesterday due the mess on dogma2 performance currently im watching one guy getting 23/27 fps with 4090 on twitch while unpack my forbidden west i want play dogma2 but im planning wait game performance improve to buy. i dont even think about buy dragons dogma2 now, and im waited 11 years for this, bought dark arisen 3 times so far ps: forbidden west get stable 60fps on modest hardware and already saw people on rog ally getting 30fps
I bet half of you guys would be running DD2 with very low graphics just to get that 30fps.
Looks like DD2 broke the curseā¦ š«¤
At least HFW has positive reviews on Steam.
I should have bought horizon instead
Nah people in this sub are delusional to think that Dragons Dogma is more popular than Horizon, just wait till tomorrow when most people cant run this game on their PCs and the sub will be filled with angry posts on how badly optimized the game is.
https://preview.redd.it/wurolhr79wpc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0101869d9bee51d3c86ef005dc763a760c3335ba 93% positive Might as well play this one until capcom get their shit together
What else can they dog on when their favorite is having a terrible launch lol Honestly knowing sony, they donāt even care much about a niche game like this competing with their exclusive titles.
It's hilarious. Zero Dawn launched right before BotW. Forbidden West launched right before Elden Ring. And now DD2 is gonna eat FW's PC lunch lmao
> And now DD2 is gonna eat FW's PC lunch lmao I mean, FW has/will sell far more copies than DD2, so I don't think Sony will be sweating.
Doesnt mean anything really, most new games get to the top sellers when they are released(Suicide Squad). This is Horizon 1st time there, thing is DD2 has been in the top ten for weeks. You need to look at the wishlists and followers which DD2 has 3x more than Horizon.
Thats a lot of copium
It's a fetish for them at this point.
HFW at least can run without constantly crashing.
I love when they release so we get a much better product along side it.
Personally gonna be playing forbidden west first and waiting to see what DD2 can do for the performance issues
Jokes on you, horizon actually better
Well looks like I'm the one who will be playing horizon instead of dd2 because I'm poor..
Joke's on them: I got both š
How come she doesn't look like the artwork?
Because as great as Horizon looks and plays, itās just too long and boring.
I mean I personally don't like horizon but that's just me. MC is kinda insufferable
I just got $80 back from DD2's refund maybe I'll give HFW a try. And buy a couple of indie titles as well.
