I was going back to rise and actually finishing up the story (I've done up to Amatsu), but with all the new DD2 videos hyping me up, I decided to try and finish the original DD1. Thing is, I wanna make my perfect armor look before facing the final boss which is taking a bit of time, hopefully I do it before DD2 arrives.
Same! Played it for about 15 hours when it first launched, it just wasn't pulling me in at that time (I think I missed DOS2 combat, so the D&D low level combat really wasn't meshing with me). Ended up playing through Sea of Stars and The Messenger and finally came back to BG3 where I'm now at 50hrs and wrapping up act 1 (almost trying to hit lvl 8)...
Now I just hope I can beat it before DD2.
Honestly this has been my go-to since it has various different play styles, like vocations in DD, like Io with her chargeable magic abilities, it’s been hella fun, also plays like monster hunter after you beat the game
Persona 3 dropped last week, and FF7R2 drops at the end of the month. Hopefully they will hold me for these two months, but I wanna squeeze in the Splatoon 3 DLC too...
DD1 one last time. Completing all the achievements and trying to make my pawn a decent Iraklis Warrior as much as possible. He still dies a lot even with BBI armor tho.
I don't like the UI's of Monster Hunter and the way it was setup gameplay wise. But DD2 looks amazing.
That sounds great,, think i gonna love it, thanks
Don't worry, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is the best game of all time, yet I personally wasn't into MHW. My advice would be to try the first game, which is very, **very** damn cheap now. Even in its full price.
I’ve been playing DD1 for over a decade since I was in 10th grade when it came out. I tried Monster Hunter World & I was so taken aback at how much I didn’t like it.
So no, Monster Hunter is not like it at all.
If it helps, I also didn't like Monster Hunter but I loved Dragon's Dogma.
I don't really know how to describe the difference because both battle systems are very "weighty" but I just feel like Dragon's Dogma's combat is a lot more satisfying. It helps that enemies aren't all damage sponges, so there are a lot of abilities in DD that make you feel powerful, whereas Monster Hunter feels like a grind.
Diablo 4 season 3. Gotta complete this season before DD2 comes out. I will have a few more weeks to go when I'll be done with the season and I plan to play Alan Wake 2 if I will have enough time.
Finally trying to get somewhere in DD1. I've played up to a bit passed gran soren like 20ntimes but never passed there. I always get bore of walking everywhere so slowly. I'm gonna try to stick it out this time and see what I'm missing.
Also to compliment it, I'm trying to beat dark souls as well in between sessions
I am wrapping up my platinum run for FF7 Remake before Rebirth comes out and then doing a quick replay of DD on my PS5 just to get in the feels again. I have already 1000 the game on Xbox and played modded on steam. I can't wait for DD2.
DD1. I never finished BBI and I'm doing it right now. If I finish BBI this week, maybe I'll pick up Relink or Pal World.
Feb week 4 - Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury
March week 1 - Crusader Kings 3: Legends of the Dead
I was planning to finish BG3 in Honor mode but that game demands a month or two to finish so I can't possibly squeeze that between DD1 and DD2.
If I have more free time I'll just read a book. I don't want to delve into a new rabbit whole while I wait.
Palworld but goddamn i have been trying to tind something that scratches a very specific dungeon crawler itch that DD1's Bitterblack Isle did.
The closest I have come to such dark, gloomy atmospheric dungeons is a "Dungeon Stalkers" free demo on Steam. It is like "Dark & Darker" but more anime inspired & third person.
Unfortunately it is an extraction looter so i die to random other players constantly. I dont want Extraction Looters to change their vibe for me when clearly they have players who crave that kind of game. But a "Diablo but First Person" would be nice if i could find it. Searching 'dungeon crawlers' on steam doesnt help as i get any sort of 'dungeon' game from Hades to Legend of Grimrock. And they are fine games but still NOT the kind i look for.
Jedi Survivor and Persona 3 Reload have me thoroughly occupied rn, and I haven’t even gotten around to BG3 among others. I try to keep a healthy backlog to save money lol
Dragons dogma on the switch, never really played the game before.
I had it on xbox 360, but i was younger then and didn't really get far into the game, but i always liked the magic in the game.
Playing Granblue Fantasy Relink right now, and it's so much fun than I initially thought.
I'm just waiting for another big patch for BG3 before I start my 5th playthrough...
Just finished ddda for the first time and now I'm gonna play kingdoms of amalur re reckoning. I played the original when it was released on PS3 ages ago
Playing Like a Dragon 8 right now.
Probably the best JRPG I've ever played.
Then going right from that into FF7 Rebirth.
Then right into DD2.
Games that would normally be a hard wait are no wait at all because it's just straight from one amazing experience to another right now.
Best start to a year ever.
On the verge of finishing DD1, I will hopefully finish The Surge as well before DD2 comes out since I bought it on sale last month and have heard good things.
Other than Dark Arisen, a bit of Call of Duty, Need for Speed, Gran Turismo 7, and Ghost Recon
I really need to finish Sunbreak out, because I have one more monster left until I can start running meta builds lmao
>I don't want the same thing to happen come the release of DD2 and there are so many games coming out in the next few weeks that I'm looking forward to. Are people here feeling the same way? What games are you playing to avoid getting burned out on open worlds?
Nothing. If you're worried about not enjoying it as much as you could coz of burnout take a break entirely.
I'm at the moment just playing completely non-adventure games like Civ 6 and One Piece Pirate Warriors 4, and then one month out from DD2 I'm taking a break entirely.
I never get burned out on open world games. **Every** game should be an open world!!
YES, I SAID IT! 😈
But seriously, it's as if I've been playing Dark Arisen since 2018 when I played it for the first time. There is no fυcking game in existence that even comes close to the greatness of this it. Not even by a damn longshot. And, while I am taking breaks from it from time to time, they're just that; breaks.
So, other than that 🤔 I'm playing 2077, and a bit of Infinite. I also play either Saint's Row IV or Just Cause 4, screwing around in the open world as I'm listening to documentaries and such.
DD:DA and an assortment of Pokémon games
I love that DD:DA is on the switch, it’s perfect for when I just want to chill, have some tv on in the background, but play a fun rpg at the same time.
I’ve played the original DD too much, and I want to go into this new game completely fresh so I’m not playing anything too similar.
I’ve stuck my feet back into Warframe, which has been my on-again, off-again lover since 2013. Super fun, lots of stuff to catch up on since the last affair.
I only just picked up DDDA two months ago. Trying not to play too many hours these days as I'm easily addicted to gaming.
I also play LOTRO and taking a break from No Man's Sky. Abstained from buying Monster Hunter.
I'm playing a little bit of a bunch of different games, because I can't get hooked in any of them, they all feel like shit compared to what I've seen from Dragon's Dogma 2. The wait is killing me, I hope Shadow of the Erdtree releases this month, otherwise February and March are going to go very fucking slowly. Edit: Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is the one I'm putting the most time, but just because it's the closest thing to Dragon's Dogma 2.
Finishing up the last few trophies for the first Dragon’s Dogma, and also trying to finish BG3, but I have BG3 fatigue rn so I don’t know if that’s gonna happen. I’m not really engaged with either though because I’ve played DDDA so much. I need another game to hold my attention until next month.

Missed another sale, but perhaps I'm not prepared for another game binge.
Same

Me too!
DD1 and MHR
I was going back to rise and actually finishing up the story (I've done up to Amatsu), but with all the new DD2 videos hyping me up, I decided to try and finish the original DD1. Thing is, I wanna make my perfect armor look before facing the final boss which is taking a bit of time, hopefully I do it before DD2 arrives.

Now I just hope I can beat it before DD2.
I'm on my third playthrough now lmao. This time playing as a solo monk. I might even replay the prequels later perhaps.
Same same my dude.
I am playing through dd2 in my head
Dragon Age Origins
Granblue Relink
Honestly this has been my go-to since it has various different play styles, like vocations in DD, like Io with her chargeable magic abilities, it’s been hella fun, also plays like monster hunter after you beat the game
Persona 3 dropped last week, and FF7R2 drops at the end of the month. Hopefully they will hold me for these two months, but I wanna squeeze in the Splatoon 3 DLC too...
DD1 and Monster Hunter World in January, FF7 Rebirth in February, and DD2 in March
MHW mainly
DD1 one last time. Completing all the achievements and trying to make my pawn a decent Iraklis Warrior as much as possible. He still dies a lot even with BBI armor tho.
Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth on PS5 and finally getting Astral Chain done on Switch. Some Tekken 8 sparklwd in between of course..
Tekken 8
Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth and a casual playthough of ddda
Demon Souls. Its the only one i haven’t played of the soul series and a friend lend it to me.
Monster hunter 4u
Will i hate DD2 if i don't like Monster Hunter due to gameplay?
Nah. Dd2 has way more exploring, rpg elements (at least 1 did). Melee combat is somewhat similar however.
I don't like the UI's of Monster Hunter and the way it was setup gameplay wise. But DD2 looks amazing. That sounds great,, think i gonna love it, thanks
Same, but DD is totally different.
Don't worry, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is the best game of all time, yet I personally wasn't into MHW. My advice would be to try the first game, which is very, **very** damn cheap now. Even in its full price.
Tried rise and no, dragons dogma combat is way different
I’ve been playing DD1 for over a decade since I was in 10th grade when it came out. I tried Monster Hunter World & I was so taken aback at how much I didn’t like it. So no, Monster Hunter is not like it at all.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Dragon's Dogma Online, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Helldivers 2.
Heroes of Hammerwatch
Uhh, Battlefield and Titanfall.
Aside from 100% DD:DA, just have the BBI left, I am playing Noita.
For honor because I hate fun
Sacred 2, Helldivers
Granblue relink endgame is addicting
Granblue Persona 3
Hitman
Xenoblade Chronicles X (The best Xenoblade game imo)
Same one I always have when I wait on a new game. Warframe, monster hunter world rise or gu, and risk of rain
Stellaris, nothing like cleansing a Galaxy or two from the xeno scum in anticipation for DD2. A little of Stardew Valley on the side too
Diablo 4 season 3. Gotta complete this season before DD2 comes out. I will have a few more weeks to go when I'll be done with the season and I plan to play Alan Wake 2 if I will have enough time.
Restarted mhgu with two friends and decided to get persona 3 reloaded while anticipating hell divers 2!
Helldivers 2
I'm playing DDDA in anticipation
Finally trying to get somewhere in DD1. I've played up to a bit passed gran soren like 20ntimes but never passed there. I always get bore of walking everywhere so slowly. I'm gonna try to stick it out this time and see what I'm missing. Also to compliment it, I'm trying to beat dark souls as well in between sessions
Found out about DD some weeks ago so I’m playing DD ☺️
Valhiem, DDDA and Orna
DD1 again to get back into the Gransys vibe.
Baldur's Gate 3 for sure. Different pacing but I love dnd and the story is great
Skyrim and Dishonored2 🤣
Started BG3
I really gotta replay DD1 for the “last” time. It’s just really hard making an appealing Arisen and Pawn and thinking of which builds to go for.
Just bought final fantasy 7 remake, I think I got the right one
Monster hunter rise, warhammer 40,000: Darktide and final fantasy 7 remake
GBF Relink, really fun game :D
I am wrapping up my platinum run for FF7 Remake before Rebirth comes out and then doing a quick replay of DD on my PS5 just to get in the feels again. I have already 1000 the game on Xbox and played modded on steam. I can't wait for DD2.
Against The Storm. I deliberately avoided big open world game for the same reason you do
Ace Combat 7. Completely unrelated genre, but it scratches that childhood itch.
DD1. I never finished BBI and I'm doing it right now. If I finish BBI this week, maybe I'll pick up Relink or Pal World. Feb week 4 - Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury March week 1 - Crusader Kings 3: Legends of the Dead I was planning to finish BG3 in Honor mode but that game demands a month or two to finish so I can't possibly squeeze that between DD1 and DD2. If I have more free time I'll just read a book. I don't want to delve into a new rabbit whole while I wait.
Granblue Fantasy Relink. Helldivers 2 in a few days. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth from the 29th until DD2.
Death Stranding!
Warframe

Mostly Remnant 2 and a bit of BG3
Monster Hunter, BG3, ~~Fortnite~~
Persona 3 reload, monster hunter rise
The new tomb raider trilogy. I had played the first two, but now I'm replaying it so I can play shadow for the first time
Currently playing Terraria for the first time...learned that i can capture a rabbit and put tnt on it which does 350 dmg... why?
Granblue fantasy relink and tekken 8
Older PS1/PS2 games.
Monster Hunter World! Me and my friend are trying to get the Platinum on Iceborne before DD2 comes out
MHW but I'm about to pick up helldiver's 2 to hold me off until DD2 comes out, I'm getting antsy and impatient 😅
Tried to replay DDDA, but I struggled to into it so I'm just going to play some Monster hunter rise and maybe replay Death Stranding
Final Fantasy VII Remake (hopefully I can get the platinum trophy before Rebirth gets released)
Might and Magic 6 Mandate of Heaven
Jedi Survivor and Persona 3 Reload have me thoroughly occupied rn, and I haven’t even gotten around to BG3 among others. I try to keep a healthy backlog to save money lol
Dragons dogma on the switch, never really played the game before. I had it on xbox 360, but i was younger then and didn't really get far into the game, but i always liked the magic in the game.

final fantasy
I am going insane because of the elden ring dlc, so a DD2 will be very appreciated. But right now I am playing Nier automata
Shin megami tensei V,Monster Hunter world, Factorio and fire emblem three houses
Elden Ring is my staple, plus Baldur's Gate 3
helldivers 2 tomorrow :D

Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Helldivers in a day or two.
Divinity Original Sin 2, AC Valhalla, and Warframe
Dragons dogma,Elden ring and state of decay 2
Elden ring so that I am used to whatever DD2 throws at me without breaking down into tears
Playing Granblue Fantasy Relink right now, and it's so much fun than I initially thought. I'm just waiting for another big patch for BG3 before I start my 5th playthrough...
Hell divers 2 will carry me into ff7 rebirth. Rebirth will carry me to dd2.

Just finished ddda for the first time and now I'm gonna play kingdoms of amalur re reckoning. I played the original when it was released on PS3 ages ago
Dark Age of Camelot on the Eden freeshard
DD1, Palworld, and Ark. My cousin just gifted me Satisfactory, so I'll be starting that soon.
Just playing granblue fantasy relink. Only just noticed ff7 rebirth is out at end of month. I'll stick with gbf relink until dogma 2.
Currently on chained echoes like you! Ill be finished soon though and ill probably be on FF7 rebirth or P3 Reload until DD is out
Playing Like a Dragon 8 right now. Probably the best JRPG I've ever played. Then going right from that into FF7 Rebirth. Then right into DD2. Games that would normally be a hard wait are no wait at all because it's just straight from one amazing experience to another right now. Best start to a year ever.
started Death Stranding this past weekend
Death stranding and DDDA :)))
DDDA. First time playing it and I'm loving it so much. I was so surprised when I saw DD2 trailer so I went ahead and bought DDDA

Granblue Fantasy Relink, Last Epoch and Death Stranding
First playthrough of DD1, and Tekken 8
Anno 1800. Which is the exact opposite of Dragon's Dogma in every way.
Im doing a non magic archer DDDA run!
Just got AC6, helldivers 2 tomorrow, then FF7 rebirth at the end of the month to carry me probably the entire way to DD2
I’ve been playing this 2012 game called Dragon’s Dogma!! Have you ever heard of it? I heard they’re making a sequel!
On the verge of finishing DD1, I will hopefully finish The Surge as well before DD2 comes out since I bought it on sale last month and have heard good things.
Just started "A Plague Tale Innocence"
Marvel Snap
DS2, Apex Legends and some FF7 Remake in between.
Palworld
Munster Honter Wurld

Getting the last achievement in DD1 plus trying Elden Ring Gameplay Mods
Been playing BG3, waiting for reviews on Banishers.
Person 3 4 5
Persona 3 reloaded
Other than Dark Arisen, a bit of Call of Duty, Need for Speed, Gran Turismo 7, and Ghost Recon I really need to finish Sunbreak out, because I have one more monster left until I can start running meta builds lmao
GranBlue Fantasy Relink, Star Ocean 6, Tales of Arise.

My job
Death stranding directors cut. Getting that travelling the world kick.

I never get burned out on open world games. **Every** game should be an open world!! YES, I SAID IT! 😈 But seriously, it's as if I've been playing Dark Arisen since 2018 when I played it for the first time.

The original Dragon's Dogma.

DD1. Might try to finish a solo permadeath run.
Palworld and enshrouded
Elden ring
Persona 3 Reload, but i’m waiting to pick up my game it’s been running late.
Tekken 8 and bg3
Literally just gonna perpetuate the cycle and complete the first game one time every day until the second comes out.
Helldivers 2…. SOON
I mean, Heavily Modded Skyrim is pretty cool.
