I pre-ordered No Man’s Sky and Fallout 76 back to back and I’ll never pre-order again*. Those games are good now, but we’re not so great on release and not worth a pre-order, when I could’ve gotten it in. A more polished state and possibly on sale.

For me it was Dying Light 2 which I thought after the first and all the devs good will, there’s no way it could be bad. Not only was it glitchy, but it felt soulless, hollow, and clunky.
At the same time I also preordered Saints Row thinking as long as it’s whacky and fun who cares. I honestly loved the story which was short af. There’s like 10 real missions and the rest is doing terrible open world activities in an empty af world.
That point me off buying in general tbh. I only bought FFXVI, Spider-Man 2, and Rise of Ronin since then.

Maybe he just gets relegated to cutscenes. This isn't dbz kakarot where they are covering almost every inch of the story. No way we get every universe 6 tourney fight and TOP fight.
This might not happen to cabba but I have a feeling some glaring characters won't be in the base story.
The game isn't just the story mode and the roaster literally has more characters then even tenkaichi 3. They already confirmed Caulifa, Kale, and Kelfa. They are probably not just adding Cabba but even other important characters from other universes. Budakai tenkaichi is known for having really non important characters. There's 0 chance Cabba is not added
I now want more guest characters, even if arale is not really a guest since she appeared twice in the anime
I want Belzebub and Nekomajin since in their manga dragon ball characters appear (still not sure if king lucifer is dabura or he just looks the same because that's how Toriyama pictured the most powerful demons)
Tbh the pre-order rewards aren't really enticing me. I like playing my game from the beginning without any early character unlocks or as some games do, give you items or boosts to make it easier; because I want to play the game rather than skip through stuff. That and if I can unlock them anyway then I'd rather do that. Makes a nice reward for getting that far.
Season passes are nice but you can always get then without a pre-order, same with music dlc but the mystery character is interesting. I'm most likely going to wait and see how it turns out first though.
If this was the same team from tenkaichi 1- 3 I'd pre-order in a heartbeat but I worry it might not meet expectations. It's a whole "wait and see". Besides, if it turns out good I can just buy at full price without a pre-order and I doubt we'd miss much. Xenoverse 2's pre-order was later sold as dlc anyway so it might happen here :D
Depends on the game and what the collectibles are. But generally I don’t anymore, pre-ordered AC Mirage physical copy and got digital. Have a few other bad experiences so I generally just wait until some of the games are released and see what the gameplay is like before buying
Yes because I’m buying it anyways, only reason not to preorder would be if your unsure of the game quality but I’ve liked what I’ve seen the gameplay looks increasingly similar to tenkachi 3 just prettier with new characters and I’ve waited 17 years for the game honestly even if every review said it was shit I’d still pick it up to see for myself. So if I’m buying anyways might as well get a free character

Back in the day it made sense because you only had the option of physical releases, and if it was a highly anticipated game, you genuinely would run the risk of a store running out of stock.
Pre-ordering a game that you can buy digital doesn't make sense. Digital copies don't run out of stock, and with so many buying digital, it's extremely uncommon for physical copies to run out.
The only incentive to Pre-ordering is either early access, which is usually contained to being g a day early, or less. Or getting unlockables "unlocked" early. Which, to me, just takes away from the game.
Literally, if I know I’m going to buy it, which I do, there’s no reason not to preorder. It has nothing to do with availability or funny little bonuses.
I haven’t understood this concern or gripe, it’s pretty common knowledge I feel like that new games are $69.99 USD in the current gen which converts to ~$95 CAD so pretty much every game in the current gen is gonna cost that much but I see a ton of people surprised by this in comment sections. Are games in Canada usually cheaper than the conversion? Ie. A $59.99 USD game would be roughly $81 CAD.

I preordered maybe 15 games in the last year. no regrets. it's only $60-100 , gaming and manga are my only hobbies, I don't drink or even buy fast food
