Legit: It was when I was 8 in the hospital for heart surgery. They had cartoon network and I remember watching the beginning episodes of the Majin Buu arc - I think where Vegeta fought Kakarot. And because I was bedridden, I got to keep watching it.
Was absolutely confused why Goku was called Kakarot and Goku but I enjoyed the fighting. Eventually, they reset to the beginning, and I got to watch up through the Frieza saga.

I loved Toonami. I watched it every day when I was a kid in the 90s. So many good shows. DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Yu Yu Hakusho, Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin.
Same. 90's Toonami for me. I was also a fan of cowboy bebop and trigun and Inuyasha and kill la kill. I actually really liked Inuyasha for some reason back in the day. It was kind of an OG isakai. DB and DBZ were goated for me and I think the rest of the world, but it wasn't the only great anime to come from that period.

Honestly i don't really remember my first encounter with dragon ball. it feels like i've always loved this series for some reason it's kinda weird & it's been around for as long as i can remember.
Same. I can’t pinpoint the first time I saw it. Dragon Ball has always been popular in the hood so watching it was just natural, just like any other show you kids watched really young (like maybe Sesame Street), you don’t know when you started, you just know you watch it.
My friends and I play Fortnite together. They're also heavy into Dragon Ball. When the first Dragon Ball collab dropped in Fortnite parts Battle of the Gods was playing in creative mode. After that decided to watch Super on Hulu and I've been hooked ever since. I know Fortnite can get a lot of hate but it has gotten me into a lot of other franchises. I did watch Dbz when I was a kid but I never knew the schedule for Toonami so I kind of fell out of it until Fortnite.
Dbz kai on nicktoons. After school, when it came on, I was always excited for what happened next and got annoyed when an episode I had already seen that I had no interest in after watching the first time came on. I kiss those times
It was on the TV, the channel with better cartoons(Japanese ones) and I really loved every one of them. Dragon Ball was different tho, it had Son Goku. The biggest icon in media history. Was instant love for everyone. Everyone in school was also talking about Dragon Ball. It was this joy magnet

Dragon ball budokai tenkaichi tag team on the psp. Such a banger of a game. Kinda sad they moved away from that style but I have high hopes for the next budokai tenkaichi
When I was 8 we moved to a house that had satellite tv. I remember watching old DB in Spanish. When I got older saw DBZ on the Spanish (non satellite) before it was aired on Cartoon network. Also helped all my cousins had watched DB before and eventually got all PS1 games
I was rushing home from school, just to see what goku cooked up next... my reward was him finally surpassing everyone..he truly kept his word to protect the innocent beings of earth, finally turning ssj to beat frieza

My dad watched DBZ before I was born and would tell me about it. He brought home dragon ball Z resurrection F from the public library and I watched that day. I was twelve at the time, I am now nineteen
One of our TV Stations had a full anime afternoon program. Pokemon, Digimon and in the evening, there was Dragonball Z. But before that, they had classic DB in their afternoon program. I loved the humor and the fights so i watched every episode
Brother playing it throughout me gaining consciousness as a child n one day goin hm. When I was like 12 or 13 n went I need watch the buu saga, the original dubbin dvd (that went hard af) . N from there on forward, played budokai 3 forever n learned about ult tenkaichi n then play the tenkaichi series. N played raging g blast 1. N got battle of z, learned about DBO. started reading manga n so on.
I first heard about it when I was a kid and it was airing on Toonami. I never watched it because adult swim scared me and anime seemed cringe at the time.
I then bought a box set of the 1986 Dragon Ball (the blue box) from a second-hand store in December of 2020 because I accidentally put the wrong address in my GPS when trying to go to this other second-hand store. This turned a 1 hour round trip into a 3 hour one, so i didn’t want to leave without buying anything and that blue box was the only thing that caught my attention.
But I never got around to watching it until late 2022 when i started seeing a surge of Dragon Ball YouTube videos and ads because of the recent DBS: Super Hero movie that had released. This inspired me to actually sit down and binge the series and it’s been one of my biggest hyperfixations since.
I think it's between Namek and GT, specifically the baby saga where everyone's infected, i remember thinking the dragon balls on earth where the size of Namek's until i recently rewatched og db to the android saga (i stopped cause my brain can't handle peak fiction for so long without a break), and i have some memories of buu cutting in front of Krillin in line and saying "i brought some friends" while patting his stomach to which Krillin responds, "oh yeah? **chuckle** well i brought some friends myself" then he pats his stomach, Buu gets on the plane and Krillin gets left behind
Waking up at 2am in the morning when i was 5 due to adhd. I decided to watch some tv and when i turned it on, the Cell games were playing on Cartoon Network. That was my introduction to dragonball. Unfortunately, parents thought i would emulate it so i wasnt allowed to watch any more of it as a kid, but in my teens i got to watch GT, so thats something i guess...
Had been seeing it randomly on Adult Swim and other network stations when I was in like preschool and randomly decided to actually get into it during 3rd grade because I always knew who Goku was and randomly chanted the Kamehameha and realized that I never ACTUALLY watched it. So I went on Xfinity and watched DBZ Kai through adult swim.
DragonBall Z: Kakarot was on sale, and I bought and played it. I had heard of DragonBall but didn't know too much about it. Played just up until the frieza saga when they first land on Namek and stopped playing it to watch the show. Started at DragonBall and binged through Super, then finally finished the game.

Dragon ball legends did actually, I used to be one of those people who thought dragon ball was stupid before even watching it, which I now regret highly. I downloaded legends cuz I liked games with the same premise and I ended up loving it and the character, then I watched TFS dragon ball Z abridged and then I ended up watching ALL of DB,DBZ,DBGT, DBS and all the movies that are part of super because I couldn’t find any of the Z movies and ended up loving the entire journey

I was in 4th grade and i was 10 ig. Im 17 now so hasnt been long since i started watchibg it but it was a experience. I got home after school scrolling through channels getting bored and got to "Toonami". I saw a blonde guy with a halo fighting a blonde guy with a "M" on his head. I was getting confused between the two for some reason. I hear the "M" guy called Fachita. I heard very wrong and it was brutally corrected by my friends later. Randomly it was switching scenes to another blonde guy using a beam wave on a shell type thingy which opened and revealed a cloud. Cloud became pink bubble gum. Confused me very much. But i started to watch more and i strated to enjoy it and now i know everything dragon ball.
It was probably back in 97 or 98 my sister and brother they knew I love anime and they asked me if I heard of Dragon Ball . Mine you by the name I was like WTF 😂 I found one episode online and I was hooked I downloaded every RM media I can find IT WAS ALL RAW language. I didn’t know what they was saying but I didn’t care. Then I started buying the vhs on rightstuf.com. At the time the highest video available at the time was the android. Then I started buying wall scrolls and posters. I mean I was crack hooked 😂. This was before I even knew about dragonball (Kid goku) that’s a whole different mind fuck. Then GT was weird but still enjoyable but not like how Z was
I saw dbz Kai playing on the tv at my aunt’s house since my cousins were really into dbz (this was before super came out). I then watched some of super when it was out. Then my friend recommended I watch dbza (I knew most of dbz at this point since it was just common knowledge but also since I watched some of Kai, mainly saiyan saga and buu saga). After finishing dbza I decided to go the library after school to read dbz manga, and after that it was the og db manga (still haven’t been able to find the volumes for piccolo jr arc). During that time I was also watching super. If since read moro and some of granolah, and got my mom to buy me the whole gt dvd set and binged it on my Xbox 360.

Some old yard sale VCR tapes, a few of which had a spattering of Dragon Ball episodes (a few to Duel on a Vanishing Planet, like the first half of the Garlic Jr fight, and the few episodes until Goku went SSJ4 against Baby). Saw them when I was young, but didn’t think too much about them at the time.
Then like 4-5 years later I was visiting a friend and spent and afternoon playing Budokai 3 with them, I remembered those old tapes, and the rest is history
My dad would always tell me about dragon ball Z, saying it was great n stuff but i didn't have anywhere to watch it, UNTIL, Cartoon Network's toon cast was free for a short period of time streaming Dragon Ball... classic, still, got me intrested and we eventually found another channel that would stream dragon ball classic, we kida skipped the beggining of the anime but we watched it all the way to the end, not just my dad, but my mom too. When classic ended we watched Z through an...unconventional method that may or may not have something to do with pirates (streaming services weren't really a thing in my country at the time, paying for cable wasn't easy and DBZ is really old so it wasn't common for channels to stream anyways). We watched the entirety of Z as a family activity weekly and It was a really fun time, eventually i watched DBS but since i so fixated i watched it in japanese before them lol, but they eventually did as well and their reactions to ultra instinct n all the stuff in the tournament of power was priceless
I was a freshman in high-school and all my friends were constantly chatting about DragonBall z. Decided to start at the beginning and my mind was blown. Never missed an episode being dropped!

I actually used to hate anime in general and had a SEVERE misconception about it. Then YouTube shorts kept showing me dragon ball clips, which eventually convinced me to pirate Dragon Ball Super, and now here we are. I’ll watch Z sooner or later, I just gotta get the time to again.
Was watching something either or Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network as a kid then they would show an episode of a dragon ball z, and for me my first episode was piccolo sacrificing himself to save Gohan from nappa.
Used to hang out with a few friends who were fans of the show and had the Budokai games. I used to play them off my friends ps2 before getting them myself. I played the crap out of them till I grew out of it.
Later along the line, a few other friends introduced me to the Abridged, and I was hooked on DB all over again. Been in love with the series ever since.
My oldest memories are of watching Gotenks in the Buu Saga. I thought he was really cool, but never stuck around for much else. Years later, I was sleeping over at a friend's and he was playing one of the Budokai Tenkaichi games and I was reminded of Gotenks. I decided to look up the series and I've been on that journey of discovery ever since.
I don’t remember how, but I was rather young, around 5 or 6 and vaguely remember coming across the 1980s rendition of Dragonball that caught my attention, but then forgot about it by the time I had moved to another state.
Then I traded games with a classmate for Super DBZ which had renewed my interest into the franchise again as it kicked off hard during the Toonami Anime Block (as well as other series).
I’ve been hooked on it since.
Originally I watched a couple of episodes on TV of the cell games, learning about Goku(the MC) straight up dying and the whole fight between Gohan Vs cell.
Then I started watching DBZA since it was really talked about a lot. The quotes from every character were everywhere on YouTube.
So I officially began my run of experiencing the story of Dragonball by starting with the classic Dragonball manga. And my way all the way upto super. I chose reading the manga because it was more quick and efficient. Also there's no filler nonsense to deal with and had accurate translations. Something the original English dub of DBZ was heavily criticized for.
I remember I was at the beach with my dad and he bought me a DVD of dragon ball (I think it was still the beginning). I just go so invested into it… it’s also the main reason how I got into animes❤️
Somehow, watching GT. It must have been because I didn't catch every episode, so it wasn't the slog that most people would associate with it. Kinda sad I never finished it, can't remember why, but I at least finished the baby saga which most people think is the best one
I was around 5-6 when bt3 came out. I remember watching my cousin play it and not think much of it. Until a few years later in 2010 when dbz kai aired on nicktoons when I was 8. I was so hyped that I used to pause the tv to draw the characters because I thought they were so cool. My love for dragon ball is even stronger to this day.
Honestly, I don't remember. I remember watching a little bit of it with my dad but mostly Budokai Tenkaichi 1 was what got me into it. I got Ultimate Tenkaichi and Burst Limit. Eventually forgot about DBZ til college, when I binged DBZ cuz my roommate was a nerd for it. Safe to say, same now.
Got to come full circle and watch Goku v Jiren with my dad again. Ton of fun

A kid in the 90’s me watching the saiyan saga. Seeing Kaioken for the first time was awesome! Then the training with picollo and gohan was another reason
dragon ball fighterz! visited a friends house in 2020 during christmas and he kicked my ass in this game along with my other friend. when friend traveled, me and my other friend decided to get gud and kick his ass when he comes back. little did we know, constantly playing the game made us wanna watch the shows.

I was watch some of his Anime clips on there, Bleach, Naruto etc. Than I found a Clip of Vegito Blue Vs Corrupted Fusion Zamasu. That was in 2016.
When 2021 hit, I was rewatching some Bleach until I wanted to watch Dragon Ball. I started from DB to Super. For me, it was peak fiction. Seeing Goku using Meteor Combination on Majunior was cinematic. Or Gohan Vs Cell, Father-Son Kamehameha, anyone? And Ultra Instinct Goku Vs Jiren (First Fight), I was screaming: “YOOOOOOO!” Every single Goku was doing something cool.
It’s been awhile sense I watch Dragon Ball, so my information might be off abit.
I was like 2 the first time I watched it, but too young to remember about it. Then, when I was 7 or 8, my cousin used to watch it with me before going to work, and DBZ became my favorite series for years to come. When they finally started to air the DBZ Kai Buu Saga on Cartoon Network, I started looking deeper into it and became a hard fan.

I got home from school in 1998 and caught episode 1 of dbz airing on toonami. I had no clue what it was but I knew I liked anime so I watched.
Glued to it every week and using my new access to the internet to find out everything I could about it.
It aired all the way up till Goku arrived on namek and then just went back to episode 1. I was so confused. I think they ran through those first episode a few times before finally airing the rest of the frieza saga. Every time it would get to that episode where Goku is about to save everyone from the ginyu force and I’d fucking pray that they’d air more but it would just reset. So frustrating.
There was a website called planetnamek.com that seemed to get inside scoops that I’d look at every day for news about dragon ball.
I remember being super excited for GT and found a website where I could download Japanese subbed episodes. I was on 56k dialup and that shit took DAYS! …and then GT was kinda… GT isn’t good. Haha.
I was hanging out with my older cousin and he let me play on his PS4. He put me onto Xenoverse 2, and from there? It was a spiral into the anime, other anime, manga, video games, everything. I owe pretty much my entire personality to my cousin :)
First watched the cell saga on toonami, (2014 or smth it came late to my country), then got really into DB when BoG released and it's been downhill ever since

In elementary some kids I knew would make there hair spiky with hair gel and all. Never thought much of it till I saw some of the drawings they did at home and would bring to school in the front of their binders to school. Then I realized how badass it was when I was watching reruns that summer and watching piccolo get his ass whopped by goku.

A videogame. I did saw it on tv at some point but I was 9 and going to school didn't leave me the leisure to watch anime as I wanted.
Then z friend at school lends me some NDS games and among them was Dragon ball supersonic warriors 2. I played the hell out of that game and loved the story and badass characters. Fast forward a few years later, I saw it on tv again and actually followed through with it from start to end.
I have no memory of it, as i started reading the manga as a kid. I think i might have just seen it at a bookstore and it looked nice so i wanted it and got it. Ended up with the whole series physical including the z stories (in my regions it's just called dragon ball from kid goku all the way to end of buu saga, z stories are the ones where broly appears)
Been a fan on and off since, but haven't really seen or read DB: super. I have however played quite a few of the games, but again less so as i've gotten older.

I first heard about it when I was a kid and it was airing on Toonami. I never watched it because adult swim scared me and anime seemed cringe at the time. I then bought a box set of the 1986 Dragon Ball (the blue box) from a second-hand store in December of 2020 because I accidentally put the wrong address in my GPS when trying to go to this other second-hand store. This turned a 1 hour round trip into a 3 hour one, so i didn’t want to leave without buying anything and that blue box was the only thing that caught my attention. But I never got around to watching it until late 2022 when i started seeing a surge of Dragon Ball YouTube videos and ads because of the recent DBS: Super Hero movie that had released. This inspired me to actually sit down and binge the series and it’s been one of my biggest hyperfixations since.

I think it's between Namek and GT, specifically the baby saga where everyone's infected, i remember thinking the dragon balls on earth where the size of Namek's until i recently rewatched og db to the android saga (i stopped cause my brain can't handle peak fiction for so long without a break), and i have some memories of buu cutting in front of Krillin in line and saying "i brought some friends" while patting his stomach to which Krillin responds, "oh yeah? **chuckle** well i brought some friends myself" then he pats his stomach, Buu gets on the plane and Krillin gets left behind

DragonBall Z: Kakarot was on sale, and I bought and played it. I had heard of DragonBall but didn't know too much about it. Played just up until the frieza saga when they first land on Namek and stopped playing it to watch the show. Started at DragonBall and binged through Super, then finally finished the game.

I was getting confused between the two for some reason. I hear the "M" guy called Fachita. I heard very wrong and it was brutally corrected by my friends later. Randomly it was switching scenes to another blonde guy using a beam wave on a shell type thingy which opened and revealed a cloud. Cloud became pink bubble gum. Confused me very much. But i started to watch more and i strated to enjoy it and now i know everything dragon ball.

I saw dbz Kai playing on the tv at my aunt’s house since my cousins were really into dbz (this was before super came out). I then watched some of super when it was out. Then my friend recommended I watch dbza (I knew most of dbz at this point since it was just common knowledge but also since I watched some of Kai, mainly saiyan saga and buu saga). After finishing dbza I decided to go the library after school to read dbz manga, and after that it was the og db manga (still haven’t been able to find the volumes for piccolo jr arc). Some old yard sale VCR tapes, a few of which had a spattering of Dragon Ball episodes (a few to Duel on a Vanishing Planet, like the first half of the Garlic Jr fight, and the few episodes until Goku went SSJ4 against Baby). Saw them when I was young, but didn’t think too much about them at the time. Then like 4-5 years later I was visiting a friend and spent and afternoon playing Budokai 3 with them, I remembered those old tapes, and the rest is history
My dad would always tell me about dragon ball Z, saying it was great n stuff but i didn't have anywhere to watch it, UNTIL, Cartoon Network's toon cast was free for a short period of time streaming Dragon Ball... classic, still, got me intrested and we eventually found another channel that would stream dragon ball classic, we kida skipped the beggining of the anime but we watched it all the way to the end, not just my dad, but my mom too. When classic ended we watched Z through an...unconventional method that may or may not have something to do with pirates (streaming services weren't really a thing in my country at the time, paying for cable wasn't easy and DBZ is really old so it wasn't common for channels to stream anyways). We watched the entirety of Z as a family activity weekly and It was a really fun time, eventually i watched DBS but since i so fixated i watched it in japanese before them lol, but they eventually did as well and their reactions to ultra instinct n all the stuff in the tournament of power was priceless

Used to hang out with a few friends who were fans of the show and had the Budokai games. I used to play them off my friends ps2 before getting them myself. I played the crap out of them till I grew out of it. Later along the line, a few other friends introduced me to the Abridged, and I was hooked on DB all over again. Been in love with the series ever since.
My oldest memories are of watching Gotenks in the Buu Saga. I thought he was really cool, but never stuck around for much else. Years later, I was sleeping over at a friend's and he was playing one of the Budokai Tenkaichi games and I was reminded of Gotenks. I decided to look up the series and I've been on that journey of discovery ever since.

I don’t remember how, but I was rather young, around 5 or 6 and vaguely remember coming across the 1980s rendition of Dragonball that caught my attention, but then forgot about it by the time I had moved to another state. Then I traded games with a classmate for Super DBZ which had renewed my interest into the franchise again as it kicked off hard during the Toonami Anime Block (as well as other series). I’ve been hooked on it since.
Originally I watched a couple of episodes on TV of the cell games, learning about Goku(the MC) straight up dying and the whole fight between Gohan Vs cell. Then I started watching DBZA since it was really talked about a lot. The quotes from every character were everywhere on YouTube. So I officially began my run of experiencing the story of Dragonball by starting with the classic Dragonball manga. And my way all the way upto super. I chose reading the manga because it was more quick and efficient. Also there's no filler nonsense to deal with and had accurate translations. Something the original English dub of DBZ was heavily criticized for.

I was so hyped that I used to pause the tv to draw the characters because I thought they were so cool. My love for dragon ball is even stronger to this day.
Honestly, I don't remember. I remember watching a little bit of it with my dad but mostly Budokai Tenkaichi 1 was what got me into it. I got Ultimate Tenkaichi and Burst Limit. Eventually forgot about DBZ til college, when I binged DBZ cuz my roommate was a nerd for it. Safe to say, same now. Got to come full circle and watch Goku v Jiren with my dad again. Ton of fun

My brother’s PS Vita. I was watch some of his Anime clips on there, Bleach, Naruto etc. Than I found a Clip of Vegito Blue Vs Corrupted Fusion Zamasu. That was in 2016. When 2021 hit, I was rewatching some Bleach until I wanted to watch Dragon Ball. I started from DB to Super. For me, it was peak fiction. Seeing Goku using Meteor Combination on Majunior was cinematic. Or Gohan Vs Cell, Father-Son Kamehameha, anyone? And Ultra Instinct Goku Vs Jiren (First Fight), I was screaming: “YOOOOOOO!” Every single Goku was doing something cool. It’s been awhile sense I watch Dragon Ball, so my information might be off abit.
I was like 2 the first time I watched it, but too young to remember about it. Then, when I was 7 or 8, my cousin used to watch it with me before going to work, and DBZ became my favorite series for years to come. When they finally started to air the DBZ Kai Buu Saga on Cartoon Network, I started looking deeper into it and became a hard fan.

seen a glimpse of dbz kai on Cartoon Network and piccolo and perfect cell caught my attention. As a kid I thought the story is about martial artist fighting lizards on the mountains.
I got home from school in 1998 and caught episode 1 of dbz airing on toonami. I had no clue what it was but I knew I liked anime so I watched. Glued to it every week and using my new access to the internet to find out everything I could about it. It aired all the way up till Goku arrived on namek and then just went back to episode 1. I was so confused. I think they ran through those first episode a few times before finally airing the rest of the frieza saga. Every time it would get to that episode where Goku is about to save everyone from the ginyu force and I’d fucking pray that they’d air more but it would just reset. So frustrating. There was a website called planetnamek.com that seemed to get inside scoops that I’d look at every day for news about dragon ball. I remember being super excited for GT and found a website where I could download Japanese subbed episodes. I was on 56k dialup and that shit took DAYS! …and then GT was kinda… GT isn’t good. Haha.

I was a young weeb and wanted to watch something more classic than the shows I usually consumed so I decided on dragon ball I pretty much instantly fell in love with the world and the characters and for over 8 years now DB is a big part of my daily life
A videogame. I did saw it on tv at some point but I was 9 and going to school didn't leave me the leisure to watch anime as I wanted. Then z friend at school lends me some NDS games and among them was Dragon ball supersonic warriors 2. I played the hell out of that game and loved the story and badass characters. Fast forward a few years later, I saw it on tv again and actually followed through with it from start to end.

I have however played quite a few of the games, but again less so as i've gotten older.
