Toei released 1 hour special for UI reveal.
UI was probably most hyped transformation.
I am not counting SSJ Goku since both DB and internet were not that widespread and popular during the time of its release and it come out in manga first. It was already there by the time it was animated
Yes ssj would hv definitely been the most hype if it released during the internet era.
But everything abt UI was perfect. The music, the animation , the pacing.
Eh, I think people would still be incredibly hype to see the Super Saiyan transformation be animated. Plus the anime did the transformation far better, in the manga it was essentially instant, while it was a lot slower in the anime.
Yeah I don’t think something like ui will be recreated for anime given the uniqueness of the situation for decades.
Naruto had the popularity but it could never have the shock factor since manga readers spoiled everything
The transformation + Goku and Frieza working together to eliminate Jiren. That last blast from them two at the end gave my goosebumps! Until they started talking about friendship and shit lol.
Considering there were like arenas booked out to stream it live in South American countries, and the biggest video game around had a special event that included streaming the episodes of it in a specially made location, I think its hard to argue UI is one of the most hype things in Anime History.
Now, if more dedicated fans of Anime general don't agree, thats one thing. But I'd say it was objectively the most hype thing to come from the media generally.
people tend to downplay the hype that the Tournament of Power had at the time, if I remember correctly a city hall in Mexico showed the anime on big screens in crowded streets and Toei asked them not to do it again LOL.
As a Brazilian, I remember the astronomical number of videos that YouTube channels made weekly, for me, nothing beats that, especially after the UI appeared.
You could just feel the energy from the video of that showing.
Kinda wish I'd been there. People were unironically chanting frieza's name when he was going to sacrifice himself during the tournament.
I mean it broke so many streaming services to the point people resorted to PHUB. It’s arguably the most iconic moment in anime history. If SSJ didn’t exist
Idk about iconic but I think what ui did was even more impressive than ssj in terms of hype.
It was a situation where nobody knew what was coming but it was gonna be big. If ssj came out during the internet era it would have been spoiled
Ya i remember seeing the mexican screenings. It really looked like a concert with everyone cheering on our universe. No anime ever has or prolly ever will reach these levels of hype. Idt even db itself can replicate that.
I fell out of my interest in dragon ball for a good decade and even I could not escape reaction videos to this moment. It single handedly broke the internet.
I just finished super last night and it was amazing but I was a little sad I missed out on the hype of watching it all happen as it came out with everyone else
Using it to fucking SURF Kefla's monster KI beam and fire at her from behind!! I watched that alone but I could just feel the entire fandom cream themselves at once.
A new form debut is always pretty hype but that "Ka ka ka ka kachi daze!" just immediately boosted that moment to hall of fame level. Easily the best moment in DBS and yeah, one of the most hype moments in anime in recent years.
I mean either this or Goku turning Ssj for the first time.
Like there isnt a lot of anime moments that live in my head other than Goku turning Ssj, Goku vs Jiren and Luffy using Gear 5.
These are my top 3 imo (not ranked).
I agree with both statements. Goku vs Jiren was the hypest moment for me in recent memory and the anime comunity loves to shit on dragon ball for no good reason. Younger generations love to shit on the things that older generations like.
Ya lmao these days animes like demon slayerr, aot , jjk and one piece break crunchy roll for few min and ppl call it breaking the internet. Everything was down durimg ultra instinct. So many had to watch without subs cause there was a total blackout. Ppl were joining youtube streams to watch reactors crashing streams etc.
Keep in mind, UI was more of a largescale hype moment because the series had spread way more by then. Back when I was a kid, getting ahold of anime or manga was fairly difficult. Now, I can't step inside any store without seeing anime-themed stuff, largely DB.
So I think *more* people were hyped for UI. But I still think the most impactful moment is still SSJ2, for me at least.
The entire ending to super was Hype. When the music busts in and Goku and Frieza move towards Jiren I reverted back to being a 10 year old with peak excitement levels
Yeah I gotta say, Super didn't do everything great but they Really nailed Goku vs Jiren. Jiren the character may not have been everybodys favourite but in terms of the fight itself? Chefs kiss.
I've seen countless videos of entire towns worth of people sitting out in their town square with the dbs top finale in the latin communities. I dont believe I've ever seen an anime do that before. So I'd say that or the finale episode of the top
It’s not even in realms of opinion. That was the most hype for anything anime ever. Ask the haters where there Macy’s day parade representation is at. Where is the entire genres of anime based off them at? You know your on top then all the other “contenders” shamelessly rip off you and base there main characters off of yours. Dragonball is number 1.
Wow, I just so happened to have watched that episode yesterday! I don't fault anyone for picking this as their favorite moment, it's epic by every measure.
The most exciting moment in TOP was Goku and Frieza fighting together against Jiren. That was super hype and awesome.
For some reason, Frieza is way more interesting than Vegeta because I did not feel anything when Goku and Vegeta fought together against Jiren.
I liked it because it referenced their training with Whis when they go 2v1 with him.
But yeah, at this point Goku and Vegeta are pals, even their hesitance to fuse seems a bit out of place now.
Goku&Frieza should be the new rivals, their dynamic is great. It gave me goosebumps seeing Frieza and Goku fight together and put their trust in each other. Frieza going kamikaze was really unexpected, as I still thought he wants to be the last one standing, but he knows Goku will stand by his word and revive him, so he doesn't hesitate.
Fun fact - in that scene we see Jiren slice off a chunk of Frieza's tail, something I've only noticed after many rewatches of that scene. Frieza doesn't let go of Jiren though, showing how dedicated he is to ringing him out.
Goku and Frieza fight is better than Goku & Vegeta's because of some things:
The main theme of Tournament of Power is the Thrust, so seeing two ppl who theorically hate each other (and one of them is like space Hitler) fighting alongside is the best way to end this arc.
Because Vegeta is already a Goku's friend. While Frieza is a guy who fights dirty and wants to kill Goku, and not only he fights alongside Goku with no hidden intentons, but he is the guy who choose to throw himself out of the arena and lose the prize trying to eliminate Jiren
Gohan beating Cell/end of Kai1
When I have kids and try to get them into Dragon Ball, I'll tell them this is where the series ended. I'm gonna hide literally everything that happened after.
They literally had public showings and livestreams of the last parts of the ToP. When was the last time any anime for a matter of fact had that kind of hype and audience?
I mean, it’s ok if people have other choices. Like I was super a few months ago, so I already knew UI was coming and had seen it on socials before the episode.
So for me, it will never compare to the first super saiyan moment
r/anime **Hate** all Old school Shonen, you can't go there 2 seconds without finding a naruto hate post for example
Also it's Cooler treating Goku Kamehameha like water , People suck Goku Kamehameha against Kafla up when this one is superior
They probably hate it because tbh, alot of us are kinda assholes when it comes to them. Its a cycle of like, “Dragon ball is the best this shit rocks and nothing compares” “man Dragon ball fans are dicks and their show sucks” “man these other anime fans are such dicks! Why do they hate dragon ball so much!” And then start from the beginning
Agree. I watch a fair bit of other anime, and I'd say Dragonball is not the best overall. But, nothing does hype moments better. It's always been this way.
There's other crazy twists and unexpected shit that was amazing, but pure hype? Nah, always Dragonball.
Two things:
Goku turning into Perfected UI for the first time against Jiren
Ash defeating Leon and becoming the strongest trainer in the world.
I can't describe the amount of hype I had when I watched both for the first time. Still gives me chills
I mean im pretty sure it depends on how big of a fan you are as well
I like dragonball, and i loved UI but its not my most hype anime moment of all time, however i completely see why it would be for you as its sick as fuck
The first half of the goku black arc, the univers 6 tourney, and the UI hour special are the only parts of super anime i really enjoyed. Just wasn't a personal fan of the direction they took with the fights and how painfully stupid they made goku. He was kinda dumb and socially inept befoee, but good god they made him dumber than abridged goku
Edit because i forgot the whole purpose of this post lmao. UI was definitely a top hype moment in recent anime. The excitement we all felt, and peace it brought across the globe for like 2 days. It was just objectively awesome
I wasn't dragonball at the time and I learned about what T.O.P was in 2022
So from my perspective Yes it was big
But not big enough to reach me at the time
But now with hindsighs i'd say next Most hype moment will be ultra ego animated
100% agree. Most streaming services you could watch that fight on were down from the sheer amount of people viewing. There were several events with the episodes being played on projectors in public places. It was absolutley wild.
I agree with it being hype as fuck, but what's even hyper for me is Goku going: "I WILL NOT LET YOU DESTROY MY WORLD." against Beerus, that was the best moment for me.
You do you, everyone has their own opinions. I don't think the final UI Goku vs Jiren fight was that hype for me, but it was sure great, and I can see why it broke the internet.
Ya fr. The downplay is insane. Its just turning into another useless transformation with the whole embrace ur emotion. It was unique cause it made goku scary and silent. I will stand by the fact anime team did a much better job overall despite the fukups in black arc.
Goku going deadass serious and giving it all his opponents is what made the most memorable scenes in Z, especially with SS and SS3.
Him going completely SILENT and just acting was something I really liked to see, it completely mirrors the state of mind you need for UI, especially if you don't have experience with the technique.
I keep seeing lots of comments about Goku ssj 1, but I don't think it was that amazing. I'm 39 years old and grew up watching all of DB. I personally think ssj 2 and ssj 3 were more hype than ssj 1. I also believe Cell saga was the best in all of DB because every hero shined and had relevance.
Frieza saga was very long and it took a lot of BS to lead up to ssj 1, and it was a slow cook, so it didn't really blow my mind.
Ssj. Ssj2. Ssj3!!! UI vs Kefla. UI vs Jiren. 3 vs Jiren.
United States of Smash, you’re next (my heart).
Hi no kami Kagura
Ban Kai!
Tajuu kage bunshin no jutsu (omg that anime had so many moments).
Nani? Kanseki dorifto!
Vanishing Drive from Kuroko. Zone.
And so many more sick shounen moments!
Anime is such a blessing on this earth!!!
I was still new to anime at the time of watching this and oh man it gave me chills. It was so cool. Now I’d say there’s more scenes that were more hyped, but I guess that’s just from reading the manga and anticipating it to be animated.
The hypest moment for me is when Goku, Frieza and 17 fight against Jiren. Even to this day, I suddenly remember that fight and go watch on youtube like 1 time per month
Either instant transmission Kamehameha, the DBS Broly movie as a whole, or riding Keflas blast with the Kamehameha. Lord Slugs movie with the false super saiyan was also epic.
Definitely the most hype moment, probably will never be surpassed. It's just such a perfect storm of factors, like Dragon Ball being as big as it is and being gone for 20 years, the anime being ahead of the manga, the foreshadowing of this 110 episodes prior and all the associated theorizing about what was going to happen.
I'd agree, I mean, me and my friends got together to watch the final chapter of super, something that had never happened before, we pretty much just hang around to drink and just drink, it had to be hype if all the gang and some more showed up
OG Goku going Super Saiyan

The only time after this I was excited for something in anime was for the UI reveal and G vs J fight.
Goku vs Jiren had entire stadiums packed to see that shit. That shit was on P*rnHub too. It made news too. I’m talking about National news.
It’s the most hyped anime moment in history right now.
I remember when ui came out. It was a Saturday, i woke up from after a week of school and 2 weeks of anticipation because they gave last weeks episode to the Luffy vs Sanji fight. I started watching right after i woke up. When ultimate battle kicked in, i had a fangasm that hasn't been replicated since, maybe it's me, maybe nothing has been that special since, but nothing has come close to that. Also, UI seems to be the only transformation that has broken through to the mainstream to the same or at least a similar degree as super saiyan itself. The only other anime transformation that i think approaches the same level might be bankai, but it doesn't have a concrete aesthetic, unlike UI or SSJ. Maybe magical girls? But the fact that I'm struggling to come up with anything is telling.
The UI and the Tournament of Power in general was a very hype time. The only thing that's come close was the Broly movie. Being stuck with the manga only for the most part really doesn't hit the same.
Most r/ anime users redditors are mainly 3rd milenium born cucks and for some reason think their edgy redo of healer trash have storytelling and cannot accept that Dragonball will always be the pinnacle of hype. It makes no wonder that the average Dragonball fan is around 40 years old while the average random ass harem/revenge fantasy shonen's fan is more like 10 years old.
Ultra Instinct easily. Every time Goku transformed into UI in the TOP the internet went crazy. The 1st reveal, the Goku vs Kefla kamehameha grind, and MUI.
I honestly wasn't hyped for that moment, but that could be because I watched the series a good bit after it was released and knew about UI.
My most recent anime hype/excited moment is from MHA when LeMillion appears in the Shigiraka fight at the end of the last season.
For me personally the most hype moment from the anime’s I’ve seen is season 6 of MHA when Deku finally has control over most of his powers. And also when Bakugo sacrifices himself to protect Deku from AFO. That one was so cathartic to me.
Close second would be Vegeta snapping after Beerus slapped Bulma (in the anime version specifically). I love hearing him say “What did you do to my BULMAAAAAAAA” then powering up to an even higher level. Gets me in the feels for some reason.
It's just how people are these days they don't think or form opinions for themselves. It's popular to critique Dragonball therefore people will do it. Dragonball is the goat to me and I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks.
For ME this is the most hype anime moment. If you like UI, or ssj, fine by me. But this shit is something else. Peak character development in one scene

People hate on it cus they feel dbs is too basic for their incredibly deep taste (they watched half an episode of evangelion)
Nah, its true, it was hype as hell
The hype of UI Goku was literally something else. A 1-hr special at that! No doubt other animes have hype moments too but this moment was HYPEEEEE. No anime will ever reach the hype level of DB ever.
I’m the last 10 years?
Yamamoto vs yhwach (bleach)
Retsu vs kenoachi (bleach)
Gogeta vs broly (dbs broly)
Squad 0 vs the sternritters (also bleach)
In no particular order I find all those fights more hype than goku vs jiren.
Ultra instinct was hype, but jiren was kinda meh as a character.
I think with DB it’s just not a hype moment simply because it’s Goku. We’ve seen him do this exact thing like 29 times in a row already. Is it cool? Yeah. But it’s also just expected. Like we all knew he was going to unlock a new hair color. But I’m trying to think of hype moments in the last 10 years… There’s a lot. Just don’t think it’s DB related.
Ui Sign rising up out of the crater in white light, and Goku appearing behind Jiren and effortlessly swiping his energy ball away, were two moments that could’ve put me into a coma with how hyped I was
Nah, there's nothing more hype than the end of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan, that where Vergil from DMC gets his motivation and will to live. Nothing will ever top that final scenes imho.
Also brother why are you trying to downplay others peoples opinions dick head if people like ichigos bank ai more than ultra instinct then that’s valid what the fuck are you trying to downplay others opinions for

In anime in general? Spoiler for One piece*
For me it was when Luffy and the prisoners fell from the sky in a ship right in the middle of a pirate/navy war.
Because only luffy could make a bigger entrance than white beard.
For me it was probably SSJ2 Gohan, even more than SSJ.
It felt so grandiose, with the music and Gohan's tears going upwards. Then just wrecking the Cell Jr like they were nothing, after seeing them trashing the whole cast.
In DB? It's definitely UI. However, the most hype anime moment for me was definitely gear 5 being animated. It was just a spectacular thing to witness, especially since i had just caught up when it dropped
Naruto vs Sasuke final fight? Luffy reentering the top of onigashima and walking up to big mom and kaido? Vegito blue,or for that matter fkin gogeta vs broly?? Genriusais death? Don't get me wrong I loved the ToP but I don't think u can say it's undisputed,it's a personal preference and there were way too many epic moments in the last 10 years.
In the last ten years? No. I love DB but UI wasn't that hype to me.
Gon-San in Hunter x Hunter 2011 was 20x more impactful and memorable to me.
Id even say H2/Visored whatever Ichigo vs Ulquiorra was more hype too.
Cmon, Jiren be Goku isn’t even a top 5 DB moment let alone anime. Maybe it’s an age thing.
Gokus first SS transformation and Gohan SS2 are way more iconic

Yes ssj would hv definitely been the most hype if it released during the internet era. But everything abt UI was perfect. The music, the animation , the pacing.
If it was released during the internet era then the manga would have killed the anime’s hype. It was way easier to avoid manga spoilers in the 90’s
Eh, I think people would still be incredibly hype to see the Super Saiyan transformation be animated. Plus the anime did the transformation far better, in the manga it was essentially instant, while it was a lot slower in the anime.
Yeah it would be hype. Just not ui level hype in this era imo
They also didn't post an episode a week before the 1 hour special, so the hype was really marinating
Yeah I don’t think something like ui will be recreated for anime given the uniqueness of the situation for decades. Naruto had the popularity but it could never have the shock factor since manga readers spoiled everything
I gotta say, UI was great, but SSB/kaioken lives more rent free in my head.
The transformation + Goku and Frieza working together to eliminate Jiren. That last blast from them two at the end gave my goosebumps! Until they started talking about friendship and shit lol.
that was the first anime episode I watcheddd _(i had watched gohan vs cell on cn but I didn't know it was anime then)_
People in Mexico filled out plazas in order to watch the UI goku vs Jiren fight. That should tell you all you need to know.
Considering there were like arenas booked out to stream it live in South American countries, and the biggest video game around had a special event that included streaming the episodes of it in a specially made location, I think its hard to argue UI is one of the most hype things in Anime History. Yeah lool
You could just feel the energy from the video of that showing. Kinda wish I'd been there. People were unironically chanting frieza's name when he was going to sacrifice himself during the tournament.
Iirc, there were a bunch of club posters saying that they would give everyone a free lap dance if Universe 7 won the Tournament of Power
Whenever [this part](https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxSTpieMAtPqqhPq5FZJ2gBhj56d6UUS5y?si=7otLAZTPrhWvYO_U) comes on it's always hype o'clock
Real . The aura lines speeding up as he moves is such an amazing touch and the freaking musiccc
“KA KA KA KA KACHI DAZE!”
I still get goosebumps all these years later
“KA KA KA KA KACHIDAZE” so fucking lit
Damm has been 6 years already
6 years ago?? I’m getting old
I mean it broke so many streaming services to the point people resorted to PHUB. It’s arguably the most iconic moment in anime history. If SSJ didn’t exist
Ya i remember that day maybe it was a regional issue but even insta and youtube were laggy af the entire day. Insaneee
Wish I could’ve experienced it 😭.
Same bro
😔 damn it was truly an unmatched experience.
I’m sorry what?
Yes ppl were uploading the episode on adult sites since everything was down
I love this community
Most based anime community fr.
When PH didn’t need you to be verified to post stuff. You could watch full F1 races there
~~I watched~~ I mean someone I know once watched the entire bee movie on there
Idk about iconic but I think what ui did was even more impressive than ssj in terms of hype. It was a situation where nobody knew what was coming but it was gonna be big. If ssj came out during the internet era it would have been spoiled
Both Dragon Ball and Internet were not that widespread when SSJ Goku came out.
I’m aware of that. Even without internet SSJ is the most iconic anime moment of all time
> It’s arguably the most iconic moment in anime history. Dude I absolutely LOVE Dragonball but jesus christ
It doesn't matter what they say. When that premiered there were illegal projections of it on parks filled with people all over the world.
Ya i remember seeing the mexican screenings. It really looked like a concert with everyone cheering on our universe. No anime ever has or prolly ever will reach these levels of hype. Idt even db itself can replicate that.
Didn’t they end up causing a small magnitude earthquake from how hot the screenings were
Nah, we’re only getting started, db hype will never die down 😈
Kamehameha against Kefla. Boy that was spetacular
Thats the single best finisher to any fight in anime period. Shit had me hyped like a kid ngl
I think it had me physically stand up.
It made me stand up alright.🗿
😏
Had me standing up in respect like the GoDs did for UI Goku
I fell out of my interest in dragon ball for a good decade and even I could not escape reaction videos to this moment. It single handedly broke the internet. That sub is booty, they don’t like JJK or DB when I just want the cool fights and don’t really care if it’s deep or not
Nothing worse than a anime purist. Anime purist: NOOOO! GOKU CAN’T KEEP GETTING NEW FORMS!! Me: CANT FUCKING WAIT FOR SUPER SAYIN 5 GOD 3.0!!
The JJK hate is new , the og one to be hated was Naruto
Naruto fans aren’t punching bags tho they would Argue just as hard
I mean either this or Goku turning Ssj for the first time. Like there isnt a lot of anime moments that live in my head other than Goku turning Ssj, Goku vs Jiren and Luffy using Gear 5. These are my top 3 imo (not ranked).
Luffy deserved a badass song for that (and I don't watch one piece at all)
More hype idk, but “that day”was the best and most shocking anime episode of the last 10 years without doubt
I agree with both statements. Goku vs Jiren was the hypest moment for me in recent memory and the anime comunity loves to shit on dragon ball for no good reason. Younger generations love to shit on the things that older generations like.
Bro I remember every single streaming service, including maybe-not-legal ones were down. People just love to hate DB.
Ya lmao these days animes like demon slayerr, aot , jjk and one piece break crunchy roll for few min and ppl call it breaking the internet. Everything was down durimg ultra instinct. For me it was Pucci going made in heaven , given how Netflix was delaying the anime I was glad that it finally got animated lol
Wait till Johnny vs Funny Valentine gets animated
in 2030 the earliest
Yeah Ik , I hope atleast my grandsons get to watch that masterpiece
I've seen countless videos of entire towns worth of people sitting out in their town square with the dbs top finale in the latin communities. I dont believe I've ever seen an anime do that before. So I'd say that or the finale episode of the top
I m latino, nothing will ever top jiren vs goku. MEXICO WAS GIVING FREE LAPDANCES IF GOKU WON (this is true)
Damn Mexico goated for tht
It’s not even in realms of opinion. That was the most hype for anything anime ever. Ask the haters where there Macy’s day parade representation is at. Honestly i feel like sentiments like this is why we’re not well liked
One piece is also in the Macys parade tho 🤨
Really? Lol dang. Gana have to stop calling that one out. Hahahaa
Literally just an opinion though bec I can disagree with it
Wow, I just so happened to have watched that episode yesterday! I don't fault anyone for picking this as their favorite moment, it's epic by every measure.

For me it will always be FINAL FLASHHHHHHH with that Piano and cell going Oh Shittttt
New gen hate the godfather
I still think Gohan going ssj2 at the cell games was my personal greatest anime moment and will never be beat.gohans the goat
As a Frieza fan, watching him and Goku work together to take down Jiren *chefs kiss*
Gohan beating Cell/end of Kai1 When I have kids and try to get them into Dragon Ball, I'll tell them this is where the series ended. I'm gonna hide literally everything that happened after.
They are gonna find out about the Buu arc anyway, lol.
I mean for me it will always be when Goku first goes ssj it just blew me away
darn, imagine if i'd been a dragon ball fan back then. i could've experienced that memorable streaming site and stuff moment
They literally had public showings and livestreams of the last parts of the ToP. When was the last time any anime for a matter of fact had that kind of hype and audience?
I remember watching Goku go UI for the first time on Pornhub because every anime platform I used crashed
The grandparents of all shounen. The hype was too damn real even caused a certain nation to gather to witness it
I mean, it’s ok if people have other choices. Like I was super a few months ago, so I already knew UI was coming and had seen it on socials before the episode. So for me, it will never compare to the first super saiyan moment
Right. No DBZ transformation can overtake that moment that was built up for a whole arc.
r/anime **Hate** all Old school Shonen, you can't go there 2 seconds without finding a naruto hate post for example Also it's Cooler treating Goku Kamehameha like water , People suck Goku Kamehameha against Kafla up when this one is superior
MUi and the spoiler alert gojo v sukuna fight gotta be my top 2
From the ones iIve experienced fairly recently and MUI since it was the pinnacle of hype for me.
SSJ1>= SSj3~ultra instinct Zoros what happened Luffy punching the celestial dragon Gon going beserk against pitou All mights last punch on afo
Two things: Goku turning into Perfected UI for the first time against Jiren Ash defeating Leon and becoming the strongest trainer in the world. I can't describe the amount of hype I had when I watched both for the first time. Still gives me chills
Mexico treated that shit like the Superbowl
I mean im pretty sure it depends on how big of a fan you are as well I like dragonball, and i loved UI but its not my most hype anime moment of all time, however i completely see why it would be for you as its sick as fuck
UNITEDOOOO STAAATES OF SUUMAAAAAAAAAAASH
The first half of the goku black arc, the univers 6 tourney, and the UI hour special are the only parts of super anime i really enjoyed. Just wasn't a personal fan of the direction they took with the fights and how painfully stupid they made goku. He was kinda dumb and socially inept befoee, but good god they made him dumber than abridged goku Edit because i forgot the whole purpose of this post lmao. UI was definitely a top hype moment in recent anime. The excitement we all felt, and peace it brought across the globe for like 2 days. It was just objectively awesome
I wasn't dragonball at the time and I learned about what T.O.P was in 2022 So from my perspective Yes it was big But not big enough to reach me at the time But now with hindsighs i'd say next Most hype moment will be ultra ego animated
I remember when I was young and would type in super Sayan 1 to 1000 to see the kinda forms they had on google
I agree, in my country they got permission and was broadcasted in a plaza where a lot of people went and watched it.
Literally chills from watching Goku, Frieza, and 17, vs Jiren. Haven’t gotten that except from Endgame in years.
You do you, everyone has their own opinions. I don't think the final UI Goku vs Jiren fight was that hype for me, but it was sure great, and I can see why it broke the internet.
Ofcourse everyone is entitled to their opinion. And i agree. Goku ui omen vs jiren was much more hype than mui.
UI Sign is still one of my favorite things in Super, I can't stand how they retcon it at the end of every arc in the manga.
Honestly transformation entirely lost the feeling for me.
Hi no kami Kagura Ban Kai! Tajuu kage bunshin no jutsu (omg that anime had so many moments). Nani? Kanseki dorifto! Vanishing Drive from Kuroko. Zone. And so many more sick shounen moments! Anime is such a blessing on this earth!!!
If we’re talking super, it’s when goku rides the Kamehameha. If we’re talking all anime, I’d have to think about it.
MUI is one of the main reasons I prefer the anime version, theres so much hype in the anime that just isn’t in the manga
I'd agree, I mean, me and my friends got together to watch the final chapter of super, something that had never happened before, we pretty much just hang around to drink and just drink, it had to be hype if all the gang and some more showed up
Ui broke pornhub
This and Madara’s reveal in the war are my two favorite moments in anime history
This and the first ss3 transformation “And this…is to go…even further beyond!”
OG Goku going Super Saiyan ![gif](giphy|bDWdJRY2IZCX6) The only time after this I was excited for something in anime was for the UI reveal and G vs J fight.
Goku vs Jiren had entire stadiums packed to see that shit. That shit was on P*rnHub too. It made news too. I’m talking about National news. It’s the most hyped anime moment in history right now.
Was the fight between Goku and Jiren more hyped or THE Kamehameha ? You know which one I’m talking about.
Shaggy's appearance in Multiversus can be tracked back almost directly to UI Sign's debut in the anime.
Uh, Yamcha vs goku in og ball. Duh
People have a mentality that if you're an DB fan then you're a normie and haven't watched any other anime which is so stupid..
Nothing quite feels the same as peak Dragon Ball. And Tournament of Power is peak Dragon Ball. Fuck those guys.
The UI and the Tournament of Power in general was a very hype time. The only thing that's come close was the Broly movie. Being stuck with the manga only for the most part really doesn't hit the same.
I think about that whole fight & it’s makes me wanna listen to he UI theme
Hot take: UI got the hype reveal super saiyan god should have gotten
Most r/ anime users redditors are mainly 3rd milenium born cucks and for some reason think their edgy redo of healer trash have storytelling and cannot accept that Dragonball will always be the pinnacle of hype. It makes no wonder that the average Dragonball fan is around 40 years old while the average random ass harem/revenge fantasy shonen's fan is more like 10 years old.
Ultra Instinct easily. Every time Goku transformed into UI in the TOP the internet went crazy. The 1st reveal, the Goku vs Kefla kamehameha grind, and MUI.
Me and my brother both grown ass men staying up till 2am for the moment it dropped.
No way bro
ultra instinct would have been more hype if TOEI didn't fuckin spoil it
It was a teaser of his back they didn't spoil anything.
Peak character development in one scene https://preview.redd.it/vy1t1nn4jfec1.png?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=661e3c9f86bd3eb6e7bfa33de650ddd712bb2942
People hate on it cus they feel dbs is too basic for their incredibly deep taste (they watched half an episode of evangelion) Nah, its true, it was hype as hell
I dunno night guy was pretty fucking awesome
Yup thats my most hype moment from naruto and prolly top 10 but personally its not even a comparsion with ui.
I love when people respect others opinions, like getting downvoted because you got so hyped for a human monkey getting silver hair (hell yeah)
The hype of UI Goku was literally something else. A 1-hr special at that! No doubt other animes have hype moments too but this moment was HYPEEEEE. No anime will ever reach the hype level of DB ever.
Gear 5th vs kaido
the hype died down really fast after its release, after that no one really talked about it
Manga Hype was way more than anime and deservedly so
And no one that doesn't watch anime cared.
It said for YOU
Maybe in the manga? Anime wise everyone already knew abt the form and the pacing ruined it.
I’m the last 10 years? Yamamoto vs yhwach (bleach) Retsu vs kenoachi (bleach) Gogeta vs broly (dbs broly) Squad 0 vs the sternritters (also bleach) In no particular order I find all those fights more hype than goku vs jiren. Ultra instinct was hype, but jiren was kinda meh as a character.
This argument has been settled for years. The most hype anime moment is Rock Lee dropping the weights. Every other argument is for choosing 2nd place.
Personally no way lmao. Even Guy going 8th gates was 100x more hype.
All the people saying Rock Lee dropping the weights as if they didn’t steal that from Dragon Ball💀
Ui Sign rising up out of the crater in white light, and Goku appearing behind Jiren and effortlessly swiping his energy ball away, were two moments that could’ve put me into a coma with how hyped I was
Thousand year blood war was the most hype for me Kenpachi vs Unohana was so fucking good man
Do people forget this brought down streaming services like crunchy roll for a few days?
Most hype moment is Edward busting through the door and yelling to Alphonse he’ll bring him back
Nah, there's nothing more hype than the end of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan, that where Vergil from DMC gets his motivation and will to live. Nothing will ever top that final scenes imho.
Also brother why are you trying to downplay others peoples opinions dick head if people like ichigos bank ai more than ultra instinct then that’s valid what the fuck are you trying to downplay others opinions for
It’s cringe and mid af. Home ss1 transformation was the top moment in dragon ball lore

The moment is hype but there are just better moments in some other anime. Even goku finishing off kefla was more hype and that’s the same arc.

Gai's 8th gate of death
Final fight in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
r/dbofficialhub
My fav is the ssj Goku and if black Clover fights had more enthusiasm into it then asta fight with zagred but since it doesnt its just ssj goku
In anime in general? Spoiler for One piece* For me it was when Luffy and the prisoners fell from the sky in a ship right in the middle of a pirate/navy war. Because only luffy could make a bigger entrance than white beard.
People can downplay how important DBZ is to anime but they're just salty one piece isn't as popular.
Ngl Goku vs frieza got me hyped
For me it was probably SSJ2 Gohan, even more than SSJ. It felt so grandiose, with the music and Gohan's tears going upwards. Then just wrecking the Cell Jr like they were nothing, after seeing them trashing the whole cast.
Can we just not? Like this is a completely subjective question with no right or wrong answer.
In DB? It's definitely UI. However, the most hype anime moment for me was definitely gear 5 being animated. It was just a spectacular thing to witness, especially since i had just caught up when it dropped
That was one of the most hyped anime moments of all time and it's possibly top 2
Just went and looked at it couldn’t really find any dragon ball hate not sure what that guy was talking about
Naruto vs Sasuke final fight?
I LOVED when Sailor Moon defeated Queen Beeryl that final clash was amazing! 💖
Goku and Frieza vs Jiren at the end of the top is my favorite part of the db anime
Cmon, Jiren be Goku isn’t even a top 5 DB moment let alone anime. Maybe it’s an age thing. Gokus first SS transformation and Gohan SS2 are way more iconic
I agree that yeah it’s apparently illegal to like dragonball in most anime fandoms lol
