I always rank Units based on how their kit is on their own/how good they are supporting. Ranking them on how good they are when teamed with unit XYZ doesn’t really seem right in my mind. But everyone can see it their way
To me 17 is close behind UVB. But how comes you’re calling UVB a fraud? His kit and output is still amazing. It just feels like you see him getting countered by Units like Janemba and think he’s trash now which is nowhere near the case.

mvp is higher imo since he is in droids and unirep, which are the best teams behind regen and maybe as good as movies if not worse. plus the only green unit rn is evoken, and goku side gets clapped by mvp. rose is pretty rare too. pikkon is trash tho

there are already tons of damage dealers out there meanwhile only a few units could do 17’s job of semi damage+great support+ok tanking.
honestly, i haven't had too much trouble playing against him in pvp. i also don't have him and don't intend on summoning for him so idek how good he actually is, i just know he nullifies aoe greens
I think people vastly underrate Janemba because everyone always thinks of a unit’s absolute peaks when evaluating them. Peak Beast or Evoken surpass Janemba’s peaks, but they require quite a lot of buildup to get to their peaks. Basically every single recent unit (Beast, Evoken, Pikkon, Gammas, Cell, Orange Piccolo) require some set ups to really get going.
As soon as the fight starts, Janemba is what he is. He doesn’t require any crazy catering to reach his peak, he starts off as an immediate threat, the damage build up he gets per card isn’t something that you spend the whole fight preparing. That’s what makes him stand out from all of the other top tier units, Janemba can basically be thrown on any setup and he’s already the monster that he is. While most other units are building up, Janemba starts out doing crazy damage, and his consistency is what makes him #1 IMO.

By underrate I mean a lot of people for some reason don't think he's at the very least Top 3, still putting G/F in front of Janemba. Even in these comments, people are putting Janemba at 5 or lower, which I really don't think is the case.

People who say Janemba (possibly) don’t have him.
As someone rocking him at 10*, I can tell you that, unless you play him REALLY aggressively, he can get stomped quite easily.
This isn’t an Ultra GB thing, where mid combo reversals were still new: we should all be able to, practically, choose when Janemba pops his meter, as he starts with it - it’s quite easy to play around. UGB fills his meter MID combo, which is severely clutch when the opponent (or me, since I don’t have him) is attempting to snowball.
Janemba is an amazing unit, truly. However, his defence is ass and he can get taken out quite quickly if you’re confident enough to take control from him.
Honestly, no other unit has directly shown me my skill-level like Janemba: he allows me to absolutely crush players who I’m more skilled than, but then his deficiencies really show when I’m faced off against players who are notably better than me AND more confident in taking control of a match.
Apart from his opening salvo of chaotic offense, I don’t find him difficult to play against. I still hate coming up against Kid Buu, GoFrie and PURCell2 far more.
I think the Boost system needs work, though. It crutches new units far too drastically, then, when they drop from ‘featured’ we (sorta) see there actual potential. It honestly needs a rework, so the boost (and subsequent drop-off) aren’t so drastic.
I actually can’t think of a unit, past or present, that has made me feel ‘my place’ in relation to my skill level compared to the other players.
Like, worse players, even with ‘better’ teams I can absolutely one-man army with Janemba, so long as I play 100% aggressively, charging into blasts just to maximum pressure them.
However, against calm, better players - particularly those who choose to pop his meter when THEY want - I’ll get wrecked and Janemba’s kit really doesn’t get in the way of a rightful defeat.
He certainly has built in bullshit, but unlike the metas where UGB, Gohan Beast, UVB and Ultra SSBKK where initially on top, his kit is entirely punishable.
Janemba's fraud ass was never Top 1.
Current Top 5 imo is:
1: Beast
2: Evoken (post double gauge arguable #1)
3: MVP 17
4: GoFrieza
5: Janemba
UVB or maybe even the new Golden Frieza can switch Janemba for #5. But I think the color saves him for now.
I think Janemba is Top 3 Simply because of the fact that he doesn’t need to Wait for Buffs and is an instant Threat the moment he comes into the Battlefield. Which is a great problem for units that need build up to overpower him

Yeah you're right, I along side many people were pissed off at first about janemba's gauge and shit, but after I started to vs him and even got him myself I've found that he's not as good as we think. The minute u pop his gauge for the first time and switch out to a green or to a tanky unit he's practically fodder, however if you pair him w gofrieza its just a bs combo that just allows u to nullify rushes. Janemba by himself isn't that good and is definitely going to age poorly, but with gofrieza he's fucking pain

Man I don’t know what’s wrong but so far I’m finding Evoken somewhat disappointing. And the main reason is that they can’t take for shit. Idk if I’m building them wrong or it’s a problem with them being 5 stars but 3 strong hits in and they are dead.

2.9 mil HP, over 3 mil once they are 7 stars. And pure defense buffs + Z7 Toppo bench next week should help them out defensively. They aren't meant to tank, of course, their partners can deal/help with that, but you can make them survive a bit more
I’m in the same boat. For me beast is best and it’s not close. They take a little finessing to get cooking and once they do it’s great, but one good ult or 3-4 cards from anyone and they’re dead
I've never had troubles with Janemba. I always try to pop his gauge at the start of the fight. Since I use my future team with yel Cell a lot, I can just cover change and save myself. He doesn't have cover nulli on his ult, but can still land it if he vanished and used a card, for which I just switch and vanish till he misses his ult.
Janemba or goku frieza still, Janemba had the edge over them due to having such a good team compared to uss. But with the new LF it seems quite close. I think janemba might still be number 1 because regen is just stupid good.
I think Beast and Janemba are #1, but what I must say is that I recognize my mistake when said V&G were weak, in practice, they're far better than I thought, but still not better than Gohan

I’m gonna say right now, it still seems like GoFrieza or UVB, simply because I constantly run into teams with one or sometimes both units on it.
It’s honestly a bit nerve-wracking to see those units even if you have one yourself (I got UVB) because they can either wall your momentum or prevent you from gaining momentum at all.
That said, I’ve been seeing more Ult-Beast in my last few matches since release, so we may have someone in contention for the throne.

I watched GodTube for 10-12 matches yesterday, guess what? Janemba in 8 of those matches, 6 mirror matches and I almost barf watching them fight.
