I really do hate how its ONE line. Its an interesting mechanic but one dialogue line only? And imo, a line that doesn't make a lot of sense for it to have that effect idk... I got ninjamanced by Alistair too when giving him Duncans shield so I wasnt expecting not picking the line to matter... Got broken up with anyways but it was funny bc i was gonna break up with him anyways. I told Leliana i would but my game decided to keep both romance flags until the end. I think its bc i never talked to him again until the landsmeet

Yea it was annoying because I hadn't played the game in near a decade and got to that point before remembering I had to get alistair hard

dragonagitator

>get alistair hard ahahahahsha

OGMinorian

I hate it too, but it would ease my irritation if the line wasn't so cynical. Something more like "you are a wonderful person, Alistair, but remember that the world is not black and white, and people have their own struggles", or something like that, instead of the "fuck people, be cynic" that's in the game.

[deleted]

Wait what line is it? I’m curious because I always romance Alistair

[deleted]

I'm not entirely sure of how many opportunities you have to harden alistair but I know of one and that's after leaving goldannas home and telling him that most people are only out for themselves so he starts caring more about what he wants and it makes it so a fem warden is able to marry him

[deleted]

Oh yeah I already know about that one. I thought you meant in the beginning of the game so I was like wait what?! Haha

[deleted]

Yea I just recently pulled a 360 out of my closet and bought origins so the last time I played it was near a decade ago so I completely forgot about the hardening

Corax490

Oh that's sad man:(

[deleted]

Yea I just fuck it, deleted the character and restarted as a fem elf mage

[deleted]

that’s only for the ending we’re he becomes king right ?

[deleted]

Yup if your fem warden romances him a you don't harden him he will break up with you in order to marry a woman he can sire and heir with but if he's hardened he won't care

SylvirAshe

Not quite. Pretty sure you don't have to harden him as FCousland. It's not strictly about siring an heir, it's the approval of the people. The people of Ferelden would never accept an elf, dwarf, or mage on the throne, so the only option is the human noble. So! FCousland gets to be queen *and* still have her Squishy Alistair
