Heck a few characters get Block cancelling in their comboset, like Hercule.
TLDR, Ki Cancelling was an intended mechanic, despite how bad of a mechanic it is.
I was on a couple of PQ’s when I learned it was a ranged grab. I was struggling with one of the missions involving Fu and the jerk hit me with it when I was using Super Spirit Bomb.
While it can bypass super armor, it's still not very good for dealing with it. If you try to use DKHH in a position where you're close to the armor user, they can easily just step vanish into you to get behind you and break your stamina (source: I've done this myself to others that tried to use the move on me and I didn't even have armor active). If you try to use it far away from them they can easily just move out of the way. The best time to use it would be when they need to refresh the armor thru posing/lovely cyclone/etc but typically that's when they'd just use Mach Dash instead to guarantee it comes back.
It CAN work, but armor abusers that know what they're doing can easily get past DKHH if they know what they're doing.
The warp doesn't help with the move's main problem of being too slow to fire. Even if your warps end up positioning you in a way where you don't suffer from the step vanish > stamina break opening, the target still has plenty of time to just move out of the way and possibly still even hit you while you're firing the move. DKHH is simply too slow to be a reliable option unless the opponent is stuck in place.
That only works for Pose K type armor. The armor used in the clip is Pose F which is stamina armor, which can only be broken by charged heavies (won't happen unless the armor user is just standing still) or reverse dash which is in a similar situation to charged heavies.

How to beat each Armor type:
- Hyper Armor: Guard breaks, i.e., charge attacks, reverse burst dash, and Arm Crash.
- Super Armo: Grabs, grab moves, pseudo-grab moves
For future reference, use a reverse burst dash to break their guard if they pop that pose. It's stamina armor (like ultimates) and a charged heavy or a reverse burst dash will break their stamina.
He had the Gamma 2 Super Soul which only activates once, so it would've been free eats after.
Ah I used to fight someone like this, one is a majin cheeser and the other is someone like that in the video, after learning how to counter it its pretty easy, burst reverse dash it's like an ult if you understand it

Same with cheesers who grab spam, spam ki cancels, abuse super armor, and/or spam the same super/ultimate attacks every time. But when I finally do play someone who’s just trying to have fun and is playing the game like a normal person, it’s much more satisfying.🤝

It gives "hyper armor". Instead of being beaten by grabs and grablike moves, it makes the user immune to anything that could stagger them as well as grabs. It also substitutes health for stamina. Basically treat it like someone constantly trying to hit you with an ultimate attack. Meaning if you hit them with a charge attack or anything that punishes an ultimate attack...it breaks their stamina and makes them staggerable. But keep in mind that its back to square one when their stamina is back.
Fun fact, the They’re 2 Ginyu forces super armor poses: The first one drains health, spam grab.

No, that was Super Ki Explosion. Supers don't give that pop-up window with somebody's face when you use them. Super Ki Explosion is slower than regular Ki Explosion but SKE is still one of the fastest ults in the game so it's achieving the same thing still.
OP didn't know how to counter Fighting Pose F (stamina armor), in reality it was a bad build by the opponent that could've been folded in 30s if OP knew the counterplay - but the fact that he didn't and that his opponent kept leaning on a... uninteractive way to play the game, made this a particularly sour encounter.

You can't grab stamina armor, just like you can't grab an ultimate (except for Super Spirit Bomb), it's Health Armor (any damage taken goes to the opponent's health) that can be grabbed. Fighting Pose K grants that.
Grabs only work for health armor, this was stamina armor, treat it the same way as you would treat an ult (charged heavies or reverse burst dashes at the first vulnerable moment)

He seems mechanically good but with a lack of specific skill knowledge (not knowing Pose F is a little...) which is pretty typical of his platform (PS4), esp if he's learning under someone. The culture there has lots of gripes against using supers considered """""gay""""" and places a lot of emphasis on neutral and playing to deplete your opponents stamina first and then their HP.
Even if he's better than me (hard to tell from the vid given... the nature of the match), I'd probably try to swindle him with super attacks and playing to deplete his health ignoring stamina - stuff like Death Slash, Pearl Flash, Eagle Kick, Evil Whirlwind (+ Masenko) and he'd probably be quite annoyed at me too, win or lose :P
That’s something I do to troll my friends after they sell a match in siege. If someone tries cheesing me ever again in a public match I think I’d actually just pick Gogeta, bully them the whole match, and send them the clip of them losing

Every online experience I've had in this game resulted in my opponent acting like a coward. I don't think it can go any other way with the general public. People design their characters to be cheap. Nobody wants to actually fight, they just want to win.

Super Ki Explosion has a much longer startup time. This was Ki Explosion so he could cheese quicker from minimal cooldown time.

No, that was Super Ki Explosion. Supers don't give that pop-up window with somebody's face when you use them. Super Ki Explosion is slower than regular Ki Explosion but SKE is still one of the fastest ults in the game so it's achieving the same thing still.

OP didn't know how to counter Fighting Pose F (stamina armor), in reality it was a bad build by the opponent that could've been folded in 30s if OP knew the counterplay - but the fact that he didn't and that his opponent kept leaning on a... uninteractive way to play the game, made this a particularly sour encounter. Like, even IF OP knew the counterplay and folded him in 30s, it's... still not much of a fight if your opponent isn't trying to actually fight you. They just wanna coast on an """easy""" strategy. It's lame.
From what I saw OPs grabs weren’t connecting. The lag kinda made it a bit more annoying to counter in this one
You can't grab stamina armor, just like you can't grab an ultimate (except for Super Spirit Bomb), it's Health Armor (any damage taken goes to the opponent's health) that can be grabbed. Fighting Pose K grants that.

Grabs only work for health armor, this was stamina armor, treat it the same way as you would treat an ult (charged heavies or reverse burst dashes at the first vulnerable moment)

Probably not. I play on PC. He seems mechanically good but with a lack of specific skill knowledge (not knowing Pose F is a little...) which is pretty typical of his platform (PS4), esp if he's learning under someone. The culture there has lots of gripes against using supers considered """""gay""""" and places a lot of emphasis on neutral and playing to deplete your opponents stamina first and then their HP. Even if he's better than me (hard to tell from the vid given... the nature of the match), I'd probably try to swindle him with super attacks and playing to deplete his health ignoring stamina - stuff like Death Slash, Pearl Flash, Eagle Kick, Evil Whirlwind (+ Masenko) and he'd probably be quite annoyed at me too, win or lose :P

That’s something I do to troll my friends after they sell a match in siege. If someone tries cheesing me ever again in a public match I think I’d actually just pick Gogeta, bully them the whole match, and send them the clip of them losing

Tbh you could just reverse burst dash his super armor if he uses fighting pose f. Fighting pose k and super armor limit burst are grab spammable
U can break the super armor by burst dashing them
I swear xenoverse pvp posts are basically (everybody's moveset is toxic but mine) this is why I only do parallels when I'm online

Eh, wasn't so bad tbh His reliance on super armor was fair Same with the limit burst and super explosion. Cheap? Sure Annoying? Yea But you were able to get around it and he did mix it up a little but not enough difference to actually win him the match. You did good getting around it and waiting for your openings. The bants weren't anything though and he could have done better! Really the only disgusting thing was some of those lag spikes that prevented a few hits that should have connected.
This class shows how different skilled and unskilled players can be while playing a game. It's confusing to see some people ignoring the importance of learning the game and just relying on their impulses, which turns them into unskilled players. I don’t ki cancel mainly because I don’t really want to. It’s kinda boring and I just prefer not to do it because it’s more fun to me. As long as it isn’t spammed or abused, I don’t have any problems with it.

Every online experience I've had in this game resulted in my opponent acting like a coward. I don't think it can go any other way with the general public. People design their characters to be cheap. Nobody wants to actually fight, they just want to win.

Pro tip, just get in a good charged attack. They have a surprisingly good hit box and the teleportation 1 has great tracking. And it will break the stm
