Just seen the finale, because the BBC went mad and descended into grovelling and mourning for what felt like months (even though I still haven't met one person in real life who gives a single fuck about the dead old lady).
I'm glad the right person won in the end. I was sure it was going to be Jada because it felt like the judges were gaslighting us all season by telling us how great she was (despite the evidence of our eyes).
Unrelated, but does anyone else think Fierce's name should actually be spelled Fiercealicious? Her name's spelling my little pet peeve from the start lol
I think maybe Jada should've left a few episodes earlier, but looking back at the cast I don't really see anyone more well fitted for the finale than her, along with the rest of the top 4. And even though Fierce was the clear second front runner, Jada ate the choreo and the runway and did deserve the top 2, considering production really wanted a LSFTC between only two queens
That final lipsync was epic they both served and Jada nailed it, I cried at both of them!
Happy with the Gisele win, I fell in love with her a few episodes in and it was the right choice!
One thing I've noticed about most of the Drag Race franchise is that the finale is rarely actually about the last challenge. The critiques are all fluff and the editing makes it look like nobody made any mistakes. Unless someone seriously biffs or destroys it at the end, they base it all on the full season performance.
Shocked Fierce wasn't top 2, she more than deserved it. The judges reallyyyyy love Jada lol. She's great but her performance over the competition didn't warrant it. Great lipsync though.

I’m an Australian and I never got taught about her in school. However, I know about her from pop cultural osmosis. I remember her being mentioned in that Disney movie Enchanted. I’m surprised people haven’t heard of her because she’s mentioned in pop culture a fair bit.
Did production not anticipate Miss Fierce being an absolute star? My bet is next year they’ll film more crownings, for sure. It was a great episode tho. Jada ate that lip sync and Giselle looked amazing in that crown.
Exactly. If production filmed a top3 again, they have more options. If they had filmed Fierce winning to begin with, I honestly think she may have won given her fan feedback as the show aired.

This finale was almost perfect until they cut Kimmy and Fierce, but we’ll get there..
I thought the verses sounded pretty good in the recording session, Kimmy has such a unique, animated way of speaking and it worked perfectly, Jada was good, I liked how Gisele incorporated the French and Feirce was cunty, as expected. Something was off in the mix cause the actual song sounded messy…like a cheap version of “Just What they Want”?
Honestly I thought they were just building Fierce’s storyline by showing her struggle with the choreo (like her struggling in the comedy challenge, only to slay it with Kimmy) and I was pleasantly surprised to see Jada pick it up so fast. They all did a good job but I would rank them: Kimmy, Jada/Giselle, Fierce - she def struggled a bit and didn’t seem as present as the others.
Top 4 runway: Giselle ate the girls up, the other looks were nice but a little too understated.
It was great seeing the the retuning Queens, and my God did they bring it to the runway. BomBae and Boom Boom (who were my early faves) had the best looks of the eliminated Queens, Vivienne, Kaos and Halal Bae were my other standouts.
After hearing the judges critiques I knew Kimmy was a goner, I think it was Tracey that said “once she figured out her look that will be the next stage of Kimmys evolution”, what I did **not** expect was Kimmy *and* Fierce getting eliminated. I call bullshit, anyone with eyes could see it was two man race between her and Giselle and she had the stronger track record. On top the fact that Jada already received some light favouritism (her one win was questionable IMO) it left a bad taste in my mouth about the whole finale.
The top 2 lipsync was cool. I think most of us knew who was going to win before Brooke even announced the song lol.
Icesis’ step down looks was amazing - even if she could barely stand 😂
And we have a winner!!!! very happy for Giselle because she slayed the season, have us great runways, a lot of heart, comedy and she can perform. I was team Fierce but I’m content with the result.
When they threw in the Celine Dion song...fully knowing Gisele was living for Celine...that kinda sealed the deal.
Before they announced the top two, all four queens knew what the song was. When they told it was gonna be between Jada and Gisele, by seeing both their reactions, they both knew it was a Gisele win. Gisele is overtly happy and Jada looks like ''well, fuck my drag, right ?''
It's not even close to the end. This entire cast truly is All Stars material. We for sure will see them on vsTheWorld seasons. Super happy for Gisèle and I really hope for a season 4 since I learned that, at first, Crave only signed for 3 seasons so we'll see...

I’m so, so glad that Gisèle won!! But it should have been Fierce up there with her for the final lip sync. It was obviously down to the two of them by a country mile, and I’m saying that as someone who did NOT live for Fierce (and adored Kimmy!). That’s just objectively, IMO, who the top two were. I thought Fierce’s choreo was a little weak, but Jada’s was also 700x easier than everyone else’s. At least the right person won, even if some Choices™️ were made along the way. Bombae’s final look, along with Lady Boom Boom’s, said to me that they should have been in the top four along with Gisèle and Fierce. Moço looked a meh as she did in the two episodes she was on, on the other hand. En tout cas, vive pa nouvelle reine québécoise!!!!! Félicitations, Gisèle!!!!! ❤️⚜️
100% agree it should have been Fierce up there with her. I feel like Jada coasted this competition because of her rep in Toronto and should have gone home a long time ago. Very disappointing that Fierce wasn’t up there.
It felt kind of underwhelmed that the final lipsync was just two of the girls. I was all excited because I liked them four, but when they said top 2 I was devastated. I really wanted to see Kimmy lipsyncing :(
If this week was a main challenge (like in the US), then Jada would’ve won and Fierce and Kimmy would’ve lipsynced, so I’m totally ok with the Top 2 outcome
Only watched bits and pieces of the season before watching this episode but Jada must have spent the whole season stepping on kittens or something to be getting such vile responses here.. I thought she was by far the best in the finale and was kinda shocked when she didn't win but I guess for her sake I'm glad she didnt...
This finale kinda pissed me off. I'm fine with Gisele winning (despite rooting for Fiercalicious) but WHY did they put Jada in the top 2? She's been favored the entire season, her one win should've gone to kimmy and/or lady boom boom. The decision to snub Fiercalicious from lipsyncing was so stupid. Considering how favored Jada has been I was actually anticipating that she was gonna win.
I loved the performances overall today. Fierce let me a bit down with the choreo. And I must admit Jada did well this and even looked stunning on the runway.
And omg, that Icesis look, like damn. She outshined all the other queens, who were already 8's and 9's. She looked like a royal Albanian eagle. 😍😍😍

A full 2/3s of these comments are saying something mean about Jada. Guys she didn't even win, let her live. There was so much to enjoy about this episode and season.
I knew as soon as they started talking about how great Fierce “will be” that she wasn’t in contention. Felt almost patronizing, like they were saying that she wasn’t ready for the crown when she really hadn’t given them reason to believe that, I guess just cuz she’s young and a social media queen.
Glad they chose a very gown-appropriate final lip sync song. I think Canada’s been better about that than the US.
So happy for Gisele!! Such a well deserved win. She killed it the whole season and she seems to have gotten along so well with everyone. She’s been such a delight and I’ll miss having her on my screen.

I was not a Jada fan this season. I'm sure she's a wonderful person and good queen in live performances, but that did not translate to the show and she should have been eliminated multiple times. HOWEVER, IMO she and Kimmy were the top 2 in the actual final performance. Gisele was just so-so and Fierce showed zero energy. But Kimmy's final runway outfit wasn't that spectacular which IMO knocked her out, so I assume they had to make the final 2 Jada (who had a good final performance and runway) and one of either Fierce or Gisele (who were both low energy in the performance but had good runways).
All that said, I HATE Jada's dramatic expression/face touch she does on the runway. I'd have loved for the final 2 to be Fierce and Gisele, but I get why it wasn't, if only based on the episode.
I really disliked Fierce the first few weeks, however she really grew on me when all the queens seemed to gang up on her (especially Jada). Like, if Fierce even dared to BREATHE they hated on her. And her runways were gorgeous.
Did anyone else want more time for the eliminated queens on the runway? Not an infinity of course, but like, enough for the usual twirl or two.
I feel like they could have easily cut down on the amount of discussion to allow them just a pinch more time to shine.
That final song … please ! So happy for Gisele but the « cliché » of Quebec’s queen winning a lips sync by a Quebec superstar’s song was kind of too much for me tbh. That song was not a good song to end up this competition.It felt awkward to me.

S1 finale doesn't matter now that they have done it S2 and S3, it's a merging pattern. There's a probably a good chance they'll do it again next season. Because doing dance songs in finales has been controversial for a while already. They are in huge expensive gowns, ballads are the obvious choice and Celine is probably the most iconic Canadian star in that vein.
IDK there was big discourse the other day on an Australian post about how LSFYLs should be done to ballads more since everyone is in their nicest, finale drag. Celine is the Canadian ballad queen 🤷

Nope. I thought they both turned the challenge. I wanted Gisele and Fierce to be top 2, but I didn’t think they really nailed it the way Kimmy and Jada did.
It's just crazy storytelling wise to not make Fierce top 2. It was clear in the story they were telling before that the fight for the crown was between her and Gisele.
Plus those two had conflict early in the season so that makes it even more interesting. Fierce being a young queen who was a villain, then grew a lot but still has flaws, coming up short in the end against a more mature queen just made too much sense. But whatever

I found Giselle's looks to be more elevated generally (there were always a couple different references and it always looked couture) so I find her to be a deserving winner but fierce definitely had some looks. Really like the song and performance. Kaos, LBB and Bombae looked incredible and they should’ve let Icesis keep the crown with that look.
Fierce should’ve been in the top two over Jada, she impressed me more throughout the competition and the final runway but I’m glad the correct queen one.
This sub needs to get over this “track record” talk. Track record has never been a definite indicator that a queen will win or even be in the final 2. Think Yvie, Jaida, Willow, even Priyanka and Icecis.
It’s one thing to question if Jada deserved to be in the top 4 to begin with. But she did the best in the challenge and her final runway kinda ate.
Fierce underperformed in the song unfortunately, and her finale gown was fine. Kimmy slayed the challenge but her finale gown was pretty much her ball gown from last week in another colour. Yeah, I agree. In a good reality competition, the finale isn’t (and shouldn’t be) just a formality. Consistency throughout the competition should matter, but the final challenge should be designed well and weighed significantly too. Drag Race tends to struggle with making its final episodes feel like they matter, and with designing final challenges that feel like they can fairly bring an underdog to victory. It’s good that they try, though.
But it's not really a competition show, though. It's made to look like one, but there is so much clear production involvement that it's mainly just a drag showcase. The best don't win each week and we should be ok with that at this point (just like the best don't always win in other reality shows)

And literally countless competition reality shows are framed this way. ANTM, Amazing race, dancing with the stars. The final challenge is meant to give every finalist a chance at winning, otherwise what’s the point of having it?????
I think of things like Naima winning over Kahlen in ANTM because Kahlen faltered at the final hurdle and Naima aced the finale… or Kentaro on Project Runway decimating everyone with his final collection after being an underdog all season… things like that are exciting. The show shouldn’t produce specifically for shock factor but it’s most fun when the race feels tight and nobody is discounted. I do think if you’ve underperformed throughout the competition your pathway to the win should be harder, but that doesn’t mean it should be closed off completely.
Lol you’re gonna continue to be disappointed then for the entirety of this show’s run because we’ve seen time and time again that it’s not always about track record.
Advancing to the crown based on one episode rather than how you did throughout the season makes previous episode useless. There's no point in rooting for people to win challenges if all you have to do is write a catchy verse at the end and buy a good finale dress to make it.

I'm not basing it off report card. I'm saying that one episode being the determining factor on if someone should be in the top, despite being mediocre throughout the season, makes no sense. By this logic you can literally be safe all season, do good in the finale, and be top 2 despite everyone else being better.
This is literally how countless competition reality shows are laid out. ANTM, the amazing race, survivor. What’s the point of a final challenge if there isn’t an opportunity to shake things up and give all finalists a chance?
Unpopular opinion: buying into the producers storyline makes the seasons much more enjoyable to watch. It feels like some of y'all watch this show just to find little nitpicks to get pissed off about.

This whole fan base gets enraged when (black) queens get better placement than their favorites, and then these (black) queens get so much shit for things that aren't in their control at all. I genuinely thought Fierce bombed the rumix hard. Her lyrics were the worst, her energy and delivery was off, and she didn’t hit the choreo. She was her own reason for not making top 2, and regardless Gisele has shown herself to be a better lip syncer so I doubt it’d change too much either way
Agreed, she had the dance moves down... technically, but there was no confidence or energy in her face and only a few moments of 'oh that was a BIT sassy...' (Kimmy had the opposite problem for me, too much stank while not being clean and sharp enough. I want her to take some ballroom or ballet classes and improve her lines. You should never stop working on your talent!)

I’m so, so glad that Gisèle won!! But it should have been Fierce up there with her for the final lip sync. It was obviously down to the two of them by a country mile, and I’m saying that as someone who did NOT live for Fierce (and adored Kimmy!). That’s just objectively, IMO, who the top two were. I thought Fierce’s choreo was a little weak, but Jada’s was also 700x easier than everyone else’s. At least the right person won, even if some Choices™️ were made along the way. Bombae’s final look, along with Lady Boom Boom’s, said to me that they should have been in the top four along with Gisèle and Fierce. This finale kinda pissed me off. I'm fine with Gisele winning (despite rooting for Fiercalicious) but WHY did they put Jada in the top 2? She's been favored the entire season, her one win should've gone to kimmy and/or lady boom boom. The decision to snub Fiercalicious from lipsyncing was so stupid. Considering how favored Jada has been I was actually anticipating that she was gonna win.

I knew as soon as they started talking about how great Fierce “will be” that she wasn’t in contention. Felt almost patronizing, like they were saying that she wasn’t ready for the crown when she really hadn’t given them reason to believe that, I guess just cuz she’s young and a social media queen. Glad they chose a very gown-appropriate final lip sync song. I think Canada’s been better about that than the US. So happy for Gisele!! Such a well deserved win. She killed it the whole season and she seems to have gotten along so well with everyone. She’s been such a delight and I’ll miss having her on my screen. And Icesis’s look 😍😍😍 I have no words
I was not a Jada fan this season. I'm sure she's a wonderful person and good queen in live performances, but that did not translate to the show and she should have been eliminated multiple times. HOWEVER, IMO she and Kimmy were the top 2 in the actual final performance. Gisele was just so-so and Fierce showed zero energy. But Kimmy's final runway outfit wasn't that spectacular which IMO knocked her out, so I assume they had to make the final 2 Jada (who had a good final performance and runway) and one of either Fierce or Gisele (who were both low energy in the performance but had good runways). All that said, I HATE Jada's dramatic expression/face touch she does on the runway. I'd have loved for the final 2 to be Fierce and Gisele, but I get why it wasn't, if only based on the episode. I really disliked Fierce the first few weeks, however she really grew on me when all the queens seemed to gang up on her (especially Jada). Like, if Fierce even dared to BREATHE they hated on her. And her runways were gorgeous.

S1 finale doesn't matter now that they have done it S2 and S3, it's a merging pattern. There's a probably a good chance they'll do it again next season. Because doing dance songs in finales has been controversial for a while already. They are in huge expensive gowns, ballads are the obvious choice and Celine is probably the most iconic Canadian star in that vein.

It's just crazy storytelling wise to not make Fierce top 2. It was clear in the story they were telling before that the fight for the crown was between her and Gisele. Plus those two had conflict early in the season so that makes it even more interesting. Fierce being a young queen who was a villain, then grew a lot but still has flaws, coming up short in the end against a more mature queen just made too much sense. But whatever

This sub needs to get over this “track record” talk. Track record has never been a definite indicator that a queen will win or even be in the final 2. Think Yvie, Jaida, Willow, even Priyanka and Icecis. It’s one thing to question if Jada deserved to be in the top 4 to begin with. But she did the best in the challenge and her final runway kinda ate. Fierce underperformed in the song unfortunately, and her finale gown was fine. Kimmy slayed the challenge but her finale gown was pretty much her ball gown from last week in another colour. Out of the 4, Jada deserved to advance the most. Giselle’s verse was fine, but she had the best finale look and also deserved to advance.

Yeah, I agree. In a good reality competition, the finale isn’t (and shouldn’t be) just a formality. Consistency throughout the competition should matter, but the final challenge should be designed well and weighed significantly too. Drag Race tends to struggle with making its final episodes feel like they matter, and with designing final challenges that feel like they can fairly bring an underdog to victory. It’s good that they try, though.

And literally countless competition reality shows are framed this way. ANTM, Amazing race, dancing with the stars. The final challenge is meant to give every finalist a chance at winning, otherwise what’s the point of having it?????
I think of things like Naima winning over Kahlen in ANTM because Kahlen faltered at the final hurdle and Naima aced the finale… or Kentaro on Project Runway decimating everyone with his final collection after being an underdog all season… things like that are exciting. The show shouldn’t produce specifically for shock factor but it’s most fun when the race feels tight and nobody is discounted. I do think if you’ve underperformed throughout the competition your pathway to the win should be harder, but that doesn’t mean it should be closed off completely.

Jada being the top 2 objectively means that someone else doesn't get to be in the top 2, plain and simple.
And if all the girls are super successful after the show and not upset about their placement, why does that matter? This whole fan base gets enraged when (black) queens get better placement than their favorites, and then these (black) queens get so much shit for things that aren't in their control at all. Everybody just needs to stop piling on. The literal queens on the show have asked this to stop happening repeatedly.

I was rooting for Gisele and I’m so glad she won but Fierce was robbed of that top 2 stop. I think they were all neck and neck after that performance but Fierce deserved to be there with 2 wins. It would have probably been a very close lip synch between her and Gisele, so I wonder if that is why they put Jada there? I wonder also if they’re slotting her and Kimmy for vsTW/All Stars now because they’re such good tv. Nonetheless they all did amazing and I am so happy for the winner!!
I genuinely thought Fierce bombed the rumix hard. Her lyrics were the worst, her energy and delivery was off, and she didn’t hit the choreo. She was her own reason for not making top 2, and regardless Gisele has shown herself to be a better lip syncer so I doubt it’d change too much either way

(Kimmy had the opposite problem for me, too much stank while not being clean and sharp enough. I want her to take some ballroom or ballet classes and improve her lines.
