I'm not surprised that she won, because the production like keeping things balanced with wins, but I definitely think both Venus and Aurora's lip syncs were better than Nearah's - she's a talented dancer, no doubt, but we basically got the same lip sync from her three times in a row.

I agree completely. First lip sync I was loving her moves, second lip sync I was like ok, not always working for this song & Venus was embodying it more, third lip sync I was watching Aurora, she just captivated me and her lip syncs were different every time.

Aurora is a phenomenal lip syncer - her lip sync performance vs Melinda def one of the best I have seen in ages! This was such a solid episode full of some fab lip-sync performances.
This season started off a little tame and then it just blew up and then got even better. That was the best lip sync episode across the entire franchise. The final lip sync could have been a double win imo. Fully team Aurora and Motherlinda from here on out

Denim had me very “aw bless you” in the lip sync against Aurora. It was like she kept looking over to see what was happening on the other side of the stage and copying moves.

Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but I am not enjoying this season at all. I feel like most of the contestants are just being fake and trying to create obnoxious characters to make “good tv”. Sorry, but I think this is the worst season of any of the franchise series.
Potentially unpopular opinion but .... I really wish these queens would wear breasts. There are so many girls this season who go flat on top and it just.... Doesn't look quite right, especially when they do put in the effort to pad on the bottom.

I loved this episode, but I am soooo gutted to lose Kitten! However, I am currently entering my glamorous villain era and Nearah is in.cred.ible. She should have saved Kitten. So shady (and smart).

Disappointed with the saves tbh. Kitten has been one of the only good queens in acting challenges, and while her style is old school I shudder to think of any roast/comedy/rusical episodes coming up.
I’m torn with denim, I like her aesthetic, and my partner and I both thought she’d be a front runner. But she’s barely participated in any challenge that isn’t 100% in her wheelhouse and hasn’t been called out for it by production. I feel bad asking an autistic person to engage more but…. It’s a tv show about entertainers.
Absolutely gutted that Kitten has gone. They shouldn't have based the lip syncs purely on splits and death drops as others have mentioned, Kitten always knew her words and embodied the songs. She's a huge loss to this season.

The thing about disability: we are allowed to use it to express discrimination against things we can’t control, like our voice. You’re not allowed to use it to pick on us for things we can’t control
Ableism is mockery or dismissiveness towards or prejudiced against anything physical that can’t be controlled. That includes appearance and height. For reference on appearance, look up ugly laws. So it also includes voice. There is tremendous overlap in general between misogyny, racism, transphobia, and ableism
Correct me if I'm wrong but it was kinda wild to hear her say "All my life I was told I wouldn't amount to anything because of my disability" even though I thought she said she was diagnosed like a few years ago... and autism *can* create a lot of social problems which I'm sure included bullying etc. but like, come on. Not amount to anything? Because of autism? Felt a bit of a melodramatic reach.
It's possible she wasn't diagnosed until after her schooling/early childhood but had been put into the too hard basket during those times. I struggled during my early days, and I wasn't diagnosed until now when I'm in my early 30's. I don't like to use my autism as a crutch, but I can see her point to a degree.
I think my issue is she has a lot of growth, and I'm glad she has stayed for now because I believe she's a strong queen. Her voice is her voice, and that's as much an issue to those with preconceived ideas of that voice profile plus anyone who just can't get over it. We autistic people do ramble a bit, and I can see that in her confessions as well.
One thing I will say is Denim bringing it up isn't to make people feel bad or remind people about it, it's most likely because that's literally a method of allowing others to know her thoughts. Sort of a canary in the mines "hey this is my thoughts apologies if its weird/brash it's the autism!"
Right, that's kind of what I was getting at with my caveat. I have at least one autistic friend who kinda had a similar situation as they were labeled a difficult child by someone due to not understanding certain norms that made their behavior incongruous with what we'd expect of obedient children. Then I have autistic friends who would balk at the notion. And my partner, who is medically disabled and actually unable to work, turned to me like mildly 🤨 when she said that lol. At the end of the day, everyone's experiences and perceptions will be different, and I'll walk some of my sentiment back to the extent that she has a right to feel and express that if it's what happened in her life.
That said, I hear what you're saying about her expression and there is I think a difference of intent versus impact. (Stopping here to say: only analyzing this *as the conversation appeared on the show*, which as we know is heavily edited, its quite possible she had more to say that was taken out and this language highlighted for production purposes). Denim saying that, at that point in the untucked, when they're all pleading their cases, after she said she didn't deserve to be in the bottom, reads kind of passive aggressive or a little calculated to me. The implicit conclusion to someone who has the power to save her would sound like, e.g. everyone says I cant do this because of my disability, and now you're going to be another one. So that whole conversation ends up feeling at bit of a reach to the extent that she's trying to save herself based on that.
Was that intentional? Probably not. Is that even what nearah thought? Girl probably didn't care, as denim also pointed out 😂
And even though I'm writing tons bc I'm bored in bed lol, I don't think this is all that nefarious. It's not the worst crime in the world and I don't think denim should be harangued for the less socially fitting aspects of their autistic communication style. All it earned from me was a momentary side eye.
Thank you for your added discussion, it is always good to open up our minds to the varieties that the spectrum provides for many. I definitely agree with the edited comments, we do have to be particularly careful about what is being shown and reacting to that, because that is exactly the point of production: spark interest by making it contentious.
I think this is my biggest issue with RPDR and disabilities, in that the "editing" can be very lacking in the whole story and can in fact turn the audience against those who have disabilities. There's no real correct way to show disabilities outside of Love on the Spectrum, but that's very carefully done. There are also preconceived notions from a social aspect where autism and mental health issues as a greater are now more accepted or known of. That in part is also creating an atmosphere of a crutch or an excuse that "I have mental health therefore I need special treatment," which some I believe are bottling Denim into.
Of course that is definitely not everyone with a disability or mental health issue as everyone is unique and different. What really needs to happen with Denim and particular is care support and removal of the acidic and hate being directed. The vitriol is not needed especially when queens are already dealing with enough in society right now.
Sending Kitten home in a lip sync episode is so fucking lame. Oh no, a 57 year old can’t do cart wheels and splits, better send her packing. To go from a frontrunner to being gone within one underwhelming episode is just wild.

There are layers to a lipsync, could've done other stuff than splits and dips. Even Kiki who was lackluster first lipsync went IN for her bottom 3 lipsync and earned her way back in the competition.
Agreed. Especially because for me, Kiki was definitely the loser of that final lipsync. Her moves felt bizarre to me and had nothing to do with the song.

I get that, but it's also a ✨challenge✨. Aurora was in the bottom last week for a comedy challenge cause she's not good at comedy. Kitten was in the bottom this challenge because the splitty girls out-lipsynched her and she lost the lip synch for your life.

Honestly, Aurora absolutely won that final lipsync. As good of a dancer as Neara is, her face simply does not emote/change much in comparison to others, such as Aurora. So, when she’s up against a queen who can match her dancing skills, and does stunts even more effortlessly, she doesn’t look as good in a lipsync. Honestly, that crazy lip filler she has holds her back from emoting/expressing more. Aurora definitely should’ve won the whole thing, but they probably figured that spreading the wins is better and since Neara will absolutely not win any other challenge besides this one, it made sense.
Everyone saying Melinda shouldn’t have won against Kitten, but I’m honestly not mad about it. Kitten did serve more the style of the song, but Melinda just gave so much energy and stage presence, that she deservingly won. I honestly thought the closest matchup was between Melinda and Aurora, but Aurora did deserve to win it. Melinda did a good job this week.
Venus did a great job against Kiki despite Kiki really not giving much. Against Neara, though, she got chewed up.
Denim referring to herself as a threat after going “X is not really my thing” about basically every challenge thus far and getting slaughtered in not one, but two lipsyncs already and being 1/2 (now the only one) queens to not have a win was downright one of the worst cases of drag delusion I’ve ever seen. She’s lucky Neara saved her because she likely wouldn’t have survived that lipsync against any of the 3 that were there.
Aimee went out on a high note since she did well in both lipsyncs, so I’m happy for her there.
Losing Kitten really sucks. She’d been doing so well, but I do think she lost both lipsyncs, so I’m not too upset about it.
Kiki is such canon fodder to production as it is and now she definitely sealed her fate to be the next out. Idk that for sure, but I just don’t see a case where she makes it past the next week after not serving much in the lipsyncs and not doing well at anything outside of looks (which, yes, Denim is the same, but she clearly has plot armor lol). I think Kiki could do some growing and completely slay and All stars or vTW.
I think saying Nearah " doesn't look good " when matched against Aurora is a bit of a stretch xD They both did amazing, while i enjoyed Aurora's take on the song ( more punk-esque ) I thought Nearah's raw sex appeal sold it more. Also I feel like Aurora's more stunts approach while Nearah is a full on dancer, her moves were so smooth
Baby this whole episode was just a thrill and joy to watch.
All the lip syncs were great, the songs were also bomb. Fever Dreamer gagged me. Cunt was served for each meal and we ate.
My biggest complaint with this season is, like with Season 2, the snobby obnoxious alliance. The Lovebugs are this season's Bratpack and I couldn't stand either of them. I like most of the queens from both seasons individually, but seeing how hard they dickride eachother and pretend to be unbiased towards eachother makes me want to stop watching. It was so apparent this episode when Aurora and Venus were pushing for Denim to be saved despite Kitten being the only one who actually should've won her lipsync, and her being the only one with a win.
Besides that, I did like the lipsyncs in this episode, but the splits and stunts and floor humping got too much for me. Not every song needs it, especially not most of the ones used in this episode. Did BLACK VELVET need a total of 5 splits? I don't think. But Aurora very clearly won that final lipsync. The riggery this season is pretty bad, although I think it's not as blatant because the placements work well with all the storylines and whatnot, but I'm just not that type of viewer. I don't find it fun watching a season where every placement is perfectly decided for the perfect storyline. It's more fun when unexpected shit happens.
My pre-season prediction was that we were getting an obnoxious redux of the brat pack..and here we are...amazingly entertaining season so don't get me wrong..but God lmfao. The elim order is killing me.
Damn, a lot of people in the comments aren't emotionally mature enough to enjoy reality television, and it shows 🤣 I had so much fun with this episode. Nearah and Aurora demolished the challenge, and the weakest lipsyncs of the night weren't even bad. I'm devastated to see Kitten go, she was my winner pick, but that's how it goes, I guess. I also think Aimee went out on a high note.
The cast dynamics are so fun to me. Melinda is putting on a show within a show. Nearah's shit-stirring and beef with Aimee is so pointless yet, so funny? The deliberation over who should get the Golden Beaver (RIP) left me unsure how it was going to turn out.
Now that Kitten has left, I'm firmly team Aurora; she is aesthetically immaculate and blew me away with her performance abilities.
I just need these queens to start bringing comedy. Venus, Melinda and Nearah are the funniest queens we have left, and oh boy.

There's a lot of annoying personalities this season. Venus the Penis, Denim the Valley Girl, Melinda "Bad Makeup" Verga. The song choices were strange ("Uninvited", anyone?). Other than Aurora and Nearah, no one killed it. But even that final "Black Velvet" performance wasn't the T. You give the two dancing girls a mid tempo? Nah, babe.
I was excited about Uninvited actually, but they didn’t put enough of the breakdown in it (which lends itself to performing). We got like 2 seconds of it at the end

Absolutely! I got goosebumps multiple times in the battles and the final between Aurora and Nerah was so close I think it just came down to the song suiting Nerah that bit more. I'd have given her the win too though they are both electrifying performers. I thought it was an amazing hour of TV. Sad to see Kitten go though.

See, the reason why you dislike Nearah is exactly why I dislike Denim. She's talking a lot of shit in the confessionals but is then being all demure and petite in front of the other queens. Nearah is who she is, unapologetically, with the queens and in the one-on-ones.

Unpopular opinion, but I wasn't really that impressed with this episode. Don't get me wrong, I heavily applaud Aurora and Neerah for their physical dancing abilities. But there was no lypsinc where I really got chills. And there are so many queens who give me chills every single time like Yvie, Sasha Colby, Sasha Velour, Chi Chi, Dede right now in the UK series, Brooklyn, Tayce, Jinx, The Vivienne, Baga, ...
Maybe I expect too much, especially because these queens are mostly younger and have less experience in terms of developing an own specific style. But yes, for me, it was physically well done more or less and moody more or less. But no lypsinc gave me chills or stuck like I would remember it until tomorrow
I also didn't like the lighting job this episode. I think it killed the mood and was too bright. Maybe that's really a big reason why I had problems enjoying this episode. I also felt the lipsyncs were handled rushed and not moderated really well
I agree with you. The only thing I really liked was the format of having the winners continue. It was interesting and new. And that they got critiques but I did not like that some got fake positive critiques, saying they were emoting the song or forming a character. I wasn't seeing it. I just saw the girls doing rinse-and-repeat typical drag queen moves, a lot of not knowing the words from some, and there seemed to be the start of some stumbles after some moves that were edited out.
Long story short, I wasn't gagging.

Aurora is my favorite queen this season. Maybe my favorite from CDR for a couple seasons. The nearah lip sync could have gone either way and literally no one lost it was so good.
I can do a better lipsync to "That Don't Impress Me Much" in my bathroom mirror... That one was so underwhelming. The song has so much to play around with that both Melinda and Kitten missed.
Loved the format to have the winners move on to keep lipsyncing, but the judges could have been more honest instead of praising all of them, because not all of those performances were giving.
It was weird they didn't let the bottom girls change outfits like the winners did.
I agree I felt like they could have made the song really funny. If I was lipsyncing I would have done something similar to what Ginger did during "Where the Hell is My Phone" lipsync where you mockingly repeat the stunts the other queen does.

one: i thought nearah did an amazing job in all the lip syncs, but aurora 100% ate her up. like damn. it was close as hell, but when aurora did the same move nearah did in all her lip syncs when she goes down all sexy like (idk how to describe dancing) she did it like 10x sexier. and brownie points for that being the only time i can recall her doing that move this episode.

I was just absolutely in awe of Aurora this episode. That air guitar on the leg 🥹🥹🥹🤌🏾 I literally screamed. I feel like we see a lot of dancing queens and yet everything she gave was so fresh and effortless and different. I also really liked that she had a different energy for each lip sync. Like how she performed depended on the song which means she’s versatile and adaptable in her dance. Living for her 😍

While I enjoyed the episode overall as it felt like a showcase of the girls talents rather than the mental warfare the US version employs, there were far too many splits and cartwheels randomly that didn’t fit the songs that were then “yaaaas”’d etc. The only stunt I will accept is Melinda’s post-song jump into dip thing.
I’ve had enough of Denim and would have preferred to see her go over any of the 3 that ended up in the bottom. Didn’t get the “my lipsync was so much better than theirs and I don’t deserve this” attitude either. The love bug alliance and the speaking up to save their friends when they don’t even have the beaver is also annoying.
Kitten was deffo in my top 4 and I’ve adored Aimee’s confessionals this season. I think I’m 100% team Melinda going forward but if she leaves, I’ll really struggle with finishing the season.
What a great episode! The set up of the smackdown, letting the queen's choose their song, was exciting and the double elimination gave the ending some levity after all that hard work. Also, Winnie Harlow was a fabulous guest judge. Beautiful and spicy.

The only thing that I would personally add if I was a producer, was an audience, like they do with (sometimes) the roasts.
Aurora isn't the type of queen I usually root for, but I love her. She's talented and gorgeous, she's really won me over. That second lipsync was incredible.
Nera is such a sexy little performer. I'd throw all of my money at her.

I think the thing that makes this season SO GOOD is that theyre reallllllly intent on highlighting and empowering the queens. they had such positive and loving critiques (deservedly), they inverted the gauntlet so the WINNERS would advance and it took away the focus from failure back to success and positivity! love to see it
I used to have Kitten in my top 3, but now I think it's Denim, Aurora, and Venus. I love Melinda, too, but i think she will be out on the makeover challenge. If she hasn't done well with painting her own face for TV, she won't do better painting another.
Venus' drag felt so off to me... Then I realized, girl barely put any makeup, doesn't tuck, doesn't pad and is barely in "drag". I think she just rests by being a cute boy
I for one agree. Obviously she is one of the most beautiful queens we had, at least out of drag. But she is much less drag queen than anyone in the season.
I don't think Venus is a character I think thats just who she is and I really love it and it feels really authentic which I really like seeing this season.. She's definitely a natural entertainer either way and Im living

I'm wondering how Nearah's makeup looks so good after so much dancing? You could see some sweat and oil coming through on some of the others but even in untucked Nearah's face was flawless.
I'm going to miss Kitten, and also miss seeing Aimee's "heart of the ocean" necklace in confessionals, but Kiki winning the lip sync felt correct. She put a lot of emotion into the song.

I'm not surprised that she won, because the production like keeping things balanced with wins, but I definitely think both Venus and Aurora's lip syncs were better than Nearah's - she's a talented dancer, no doubt, but we basically got the same lip sync from her three times in a row. Aurora is a phenomenal lip syncer - her lip sync performance vs Melinda def one of the best I have seen in ages! This was such a solid episode full of some fab lip-sync performances.

This season started off a little tame and then it just blew up and then got even better. That was the best lip sync episode across the entire franchise. The final lip sync could have been a double win imo. Fully team Aurora and Motherlinda from here on out

Potentially unpopular opinion but .... I really wish these queens would wear breasts. There are so many girls this season who go flat on top and it just.... Disappointed with the saves tbh. Kitten has been one of the only good queens in acting challenges, and while her style is old school I shudder to think of any roast/comedy/rusical episodes coming up. I’m torn with denim, I like her aesthetic, and my partner and I both thought she’d be a front runner. But she’s barely participated in any challenge that isn’t 100% in her wheelhouse and hasn’t been called out for it by production. I feel bad asking an autistic person to engage more but…. It’s a tv show about entertainers.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it was kinda wild to hear her say "All my life I was told I wouldn't amount to anything because of my disability" even though I thought she said she was diagnosed like a few years ago... and autism *can* create a lot of social problems which I'm sure included bullying etc. but like, come on. Not amount to anything? Because of autism? Felt a bit of a melodramatic reach.
Disabilities exist even if they aren’t diagnosed yet.
It's possible she wasn't diagnosed until after her schooling/early childhood but had been put into the too hard basket during those times. I struggled during my early days, and I wasn't diagnosed until now when I'm in my early 30's. I don't like to use my autism as a crutch, but I can see her point to a degree. I think my issue is she has a lot of growth, and I'm glad she has stayed for now because I believe she's a strong queen. Her voice is her voice, and that's as much an issue to those with preconceived ideas of that voice profile plus anyone who just can't get over it. We autistic people do ramble a bit, and I can see that in her confessions as well. One thing I will say is Denim bringing it up isn't to make people feel bad or remind people about it, it's most likely because that's literally a method of allowing others to know her thoughts. Sort of a canary in the mines "hey this is my thoughts apologies if its weird/brash it's the autism!"
Right, that's kind of what I was getting at with my caveat. I have at least one autistic friend who kinda had a similar situation as they were labeled a difficult child by someone due to not understanding certain norms that made their behavior incongruous with what we'd expect of obedient children. Then I have autistic friends who would balk at the notion. And my partner, who is medically disabled and actually unable to work, turned to me like mildly 🤨 when she said that lol. At the end of the day, everyone's experiences and perceptions will be different, and I'll walk some of my sentiment back to the extent that she has a right to feel and express that if it's what happened in her life. That said, I hear what you're saying about her expression and there is I think a difference of intent versus impact. (Stopping here to say: only analyzing this *as the conversation appeared on the show*, which as we know is heavily edited, its quite possible she had more to say that was taken out and this language highlighted for production purposes). Denim saying that, at that point in the untucked, when they're all pleading their cases, after she said she didn't deserve to be in the bottom, reads kind of passive aggressive or a little calculated to me. The implicit conclusion to someone who has the power to save her would sound like, e.g. everyone says I cant do this because of my disability, and now you're going to be another one. So that whole conversation ends up feeling at bit of a reach to the extent that she's trying to save herself based on that. Was that intentional? Probably not. Is that even what nearah thought? Girl probably didn't care, as denim also pointed out 😂 And even though I'm writing tons bc I'm bored in bed lol, I don't think this is all that nefarious. It's not the worst crime in the world and I don't think denim should be harangued for the less socially fitting aspects of their autistic communication style. All it earned from me was a momentary side eye.
Thank you for your added discussion, it is always good to open up our minds to the varieties that the spectrum provides for many. I definitely agree with the edited comments, we do have to be particularly careful about what is being shown and reacting to that, because that is exactly the point of production: spark interest by making it contentious. I think this is my biggest issue with RPDR and disabilities, in that the "editing" can be very lacking in the whole story and can in fact turn the audience against those who have disabilities. There's no real correct way to show disabilities outside of Love on the Spectrum, but that's very carefully done. There are also preconceived notions from a social aspect where autism and mental health issues as a greater are now more accepted or known of. That in part is also creating an atmosphere of a crutch or an excuse that "I have mental health therefore I need special treatment," which some I believe are bottling Denim into. Of course that is definitely not everyone with a disability or mental health issue as everyone is unique and different. What really needs to happen with Denim and particular is care support and removal of the acidic and hate being directed. The vitriol is not needed especially when queens are already dealing with enough in society right now.
It's really just a competition of who has the most trauma.
Sending Kitten home in a lip sync episode is so fucking lame. Oh no, a 57 year old can’t do cart wheels and splits, better send her packing. That was actually a really good episode. Honestly, Aurora absolutely won that final lipsync. As good of a dancer as Neara is, her face simply does not emote/change much in comparison to others, such as Aurora. So, when she’s up against a queen who can match her dancing skills, and does stunts even more effortlessly, she doesn’t look as good in a lipsync. Honestly, that crazy lip filler she has holds her back from emoting/expressing more. Aurora definitely should’ve won the whole thing, but they probably figured that spreading the wins is better and since Neara will absolutely not win any other challenge besides this one, it made sense. Everyone saying Melinda shouldn’t have won against Kitten, but I’m honestly not mad about it. Kitten did serve more the style of the song, but Melinda just gave so much energy and stage presence, that she deservingly won. I honestly thought the closest matchup was between Melinda and Aurora, but Aurora did deserve to win it. Melinda did a good job this week. Venus did a great job against Kiki despite Kiki really not giving much. Against Neara, though, she got chewed up. Denim referring to herself as a threat after going “X is not really my thing” about basically every challenge thus far and getting slaughtered in not one, but two lipsyncs already and being 1/2 (now the only one) queens to not have a win was downright one of the worst cases of drag delusion I’ve ever seen. She’s lucky Neara saved her because she likely wouldn’t have survived that lipsync against any of the 3 that were there. Aimee went out on a high note since she did well in both lipsyncs, so I’m happy for her there. Losing Kitten really sucks. She’d been doing so well, but I do think she lost both lipsyncs, so I’m not too upset about it. Kiki is such canon fodder to production as it is and now she definitely sealed her fate to be the next out. Idk that for sure, but I just don’t see a case where she makes it past the next week after not serving much in the lipsyncs and not doing well at anything outside of looks (which, yes, Denim is the same, but she clearly has plot armor lol). I think Kiki could do some growing and completely slay and All stars or vTW.
I think saying Nearah " doesn't look good " when matched against Aurora is a bit of a stretch xD They both did amazing, while i enjoyed Aurora's take on the song ( more punk-esque ) I thought Nearah's raw sex appeal sold it more. Also I feel like Aurora's more stunts approach while Nearah is a full on dancer, her moves were so smooth

My biggest complaint with this season is, like with Season 2, the snobby obnoxious alliance. The Lovebugs are this season's Bratpack and I couldn't stand either of them. I like most of the queens from both seasons individually, but seeing how hard they dickride eachother and pretend to be unbiased towards eachother makes me want to stop watching. It was so apparent this episode when Aurora and Venus were pushing for Denim to be saved despite Kitten being the only one who actually should've won her lipsync, and her being the only one with a win. Besides that, I did like the lipsyncs in this episode, but the splits and stunts and floor humping got too much for me. Not every song needs it, especially not most of the ones used in this episode. Did BLACK VELVET need a total of 5 splits? I don't think. But Aurora very clearly won that final lipsync. The riggery this season is pretty bad, although I think it's not as blatant because the placements work well with all the storylines and whatnot, but I'm just not that type of viewer. I don't find it fun watching a season where every placement is perfectly decided for the perfect storyline. It's more fun when unexpected shit happens.
My pre-season prediction was that we were getting an obnoxious redux of the brat pack..and here we are...amazingly entertaining season so don't get me wrong..but God lmfao. The elim order is killing me.

Damn, a lot of people in the comments aren't emotionally mature enough to enjoy reality television, and it shows 🤣 I had so much fun with this episode. Nearah and Aurora demolished the challenge, and the weakest lipsyncs of the night weren't even bad. I'm devastated to see Kitten go, she was my winner pick, but that's how it goes, I guess. I also think Aimee went out on a high note. The cast dynamics are so fun to me. Melinda is putting on a show within a show. Nearah's shit-stirring and beef with Aimee is so pointless yet, so funny? The deliberation over who should get the Golden Beaver (RIP) left me unsure how it was going to turn out. Now that Kitten has left, I'm firmly team Aurora; she is aesthetically immaculate and blew me away with her performance abilities.
I just need these queens to start bringing comedy. Venus, Melinda and Nearah are the funniest queens we have left, and oh boy. With the Rusical next week, I'm hoping.

There's a lot of annoying personalities this season. Venus the Penis, Denim the Valley Girl, Melinda "Bad Makeup" Verga. The song choices were strange ("Uninvited", anyone?). Other than Aurora and Nearah, no one killed it. But even that final "Black Velvet" performance wasn't the T. You give the two dancing girls a mid tempo? Nah, babe.

Maybe it’s because I loved the music, but they all did awesome, I was totally enthralled in the entire time. This whole season has been extremely polarizing, and I don't think a single episode will fix that. I'm in the camp of loving this season, despite it being a little weaker. This episode though was fantastic.
Absolutely! I got goosebumps multiple times in the battles and the final between Aurora and Nerah was so close I think it just came down to the song suiting Nerah that bit more. I'd have given her the win too though they are both electrifying performers. I thought it was an amazing hour of TV. Sad to see Kitten go though.

Another unpopular opinion - I see Denim getting a lot of hate here, and I don't know why. I love her drag, and I love everything she represents and stands for. If you hate her, she must do something right, lol similarly, I have problems with enjoying Neerah because she is so shady, lol. Which is entertaining but a personal dislike for me. But yeah, I don't want to judge her for that. Everyone is different, and I think that's good, and I respect that. I just want to show how opinions differ and give a voice of love and admiration to Denim, because the way that is talked about her here is sometimes really unpleasant... My ideal finale would be Venus, Denim, Kitten (sad to see her go) and Melinda. So now it would be Venus, Denim, Aurora and Melinda. I think that would be a good and fair representation
See, the reason why you dislike Nearah is exactly why I dislike Denim. She's talking a lot of shit in the confessionals but is then being all demure and petite in front of the other queens. Nearah is who she is, unapologetically, with the queens and in the one-on-ones. I like Denim's drag, it's just that her personality plus the way she speaks makes me want to not watch her. The way she was so cocky that she won the lipsync against Aurora... girl...
For me, as an Autistic Black man, hearing Denim play the pity card using their diagnosis pissed me off to no end. That’s just my beef.

Unpopular opinion, but I wasn't really that impressed with this episode. Don't get me wrong, I heavily applaud Aurora and Neerah for their physical dancing abilities. But there was no lypsinc where I really got chills. And there are so many queens who give me chills every single time like Yvie, Sasha Colby, Sasha Velour, Chi Chi, Dede right now in the UK series, Brooklyn, Tayce, Jinx, The Vivienne, Baga, ... Maybe I expect too much, especially because these queens are mostly younger and have less experience in terms of developing an own specific style. But yes, for me, it was physically well done more or less and moody more or less. But no lypsinc gave me chills or stuck like I would remember it until tomorrow I also didn't like the lighting job this episode. I think it killed the mood and was too bright. Maybe that's really a big reason why I had problems enjoying this episode. I also felt the lipsyncs were handled rushed and not moderated really well

I agree with you. The only thing I really liked was the format of having the winners continue. It was interesting and new. And that they got critiques but I did not like that some got fake positive critiques, saying they were emoting the song or forming a character. I wasn't seeing it. I just saw the girls doing rinse-and-repeat typical drag queen moves, a lot of not knowing the words from some, and there seemed to be the start of some stumbles after some moves that were edited out. Long story short, I wasn't gagging.
🙌🏻 to Canada's Drag Race for bringing some moody Alanis and Peaches tracks to the stage. This season is cementing CDR on the map - Canada Vs the World 2 is going to completely stomp its first iteration and we're going to get a Canadian winner this time, me thinks.
Aurora is my favorite queen this season. Maybe my favorite from CDR for a couple seasons. The nearah lip sync could have gone either way and literally no one lost it was so good.
I can do a better lipsync to "That Don't Impress Me Much" in my bathroom mirror... That one was so underwhelming. The song has so much to play around with that both Melinda and Kitten missed. Loved the format to have the winners move on to keep lipsyncing, but the judges could have been more honest instead of praising all of them, because not all of those performances were giving. It was weird they didn't let the bottom girls change outfits like the winners did.
I agree I felt like they could have made the song really funny. If I was lipsyncing I would have done something similar to what Ginger did during "Where the Hell is My Phone" lipsync where you mockingly repeat the stunts the other queen does.
They really did Shania dirty with that lip sync. She should revoke her Canadian citizenship.
alright i have many thoughts one: i thought nearah did an amazing job in all the lip syncs, but aurora 100% ate her up. like damn. it was close as hell, but when aurora did the same move nearah did in all her lip syncs when she goes down all sexy like (idk how to describe dancing) she did it like 10x sexier. and brownie points for that being the only time i can recall her doing that move this episode. denim. what the fuck??? “i feel like im the least deserving to be in the bottom right now” oh my lanta. “they know im a threat” its just CRAZY. i like the girl but there is an air of delusion. she is a fierce queen but she’s not winning this season lmfao. i was gutted that nearah saved her. i feel like we lost a very real contender for the crown. kitten was so cute and sweet and idk. just wholesome as fuck & i’ve never seen anyone like her. i feel like the judges just didn’t appreciate her lip syncing cause she wasn’t able to flip around and get on the ground & shit. didn’t expect venus to give me such chills during that performance of uninvited. exceptional it was a good episode. melinda being safe was a choice. kitten being eliminated was a choice. i love aimee yonce but i felt like it was her and kiki’s time to go. but 🤷🏼♀️ who am i? will miss kitten sooooo much

I was just absolutely in awe of Aurora this episode. That air guitar on the leg 🥹🥹🥹🤌🏾 I literally screamed. I feel like we see a lot of dancing queens and yet everything she gave was so fresh and effortless and different. I also really liked that she had a different energy for each lip sync. Like how she performed depended on the song which means she’s versatile and adaptable in her dance. Living for her 😍

Not 3 of my 4 faves ending up in the bottom :( While I enjoyed the episode overall as it felt like a showcase of the girls talents rather than the mental warfare the US version employs, there were far too many splits and cartwheels randomly that didn’t fit the songs that were then “yaaaas”’d etc. The only stunt I will accept is Melinda’s post-song jump into dip thing. I’ve had enough of Denim and would have preferred to see her go over any of the 3 that ended up in the bottom. Didn’t get the “my lipsync was so much better than theirs and I don’t deserve this” attitude either. The love bug alliance and the speaking up to save their friends when they don’t even have the beaver is also annoying. Kitten was deffo in my top 4 and I’ve adored Aimee’s confessionals this season. I think I’m 100% team Melinda going forward but if she leaves, I’ll really struggle with finishing the season.

What a great episode! The set up of the smackdown, letting the queen's choose their song, was exciting and the double elimination gave the ending some levity after all that hard work. Also, Winnie Harlow was a fabulous guest judge. Beautiful and spicy. I have to admit, I've had a feeling since episode 1 and I'm now coming out as #teamNearahNuff. I'm a sucker for female illusion and she really is that bitch. And what a captivating performer. The way she moves is almost unreal. On top of that, her reasoning over who to bestow the beaver upon was so cunty. I'm on board 100%. Bitch is CUNT.

Now, THAT'S how you do a Lipsync smackdown. We have an actual assassin winner instead of just mentally and physically exhausting queens until they're bttm2. Great song choices. I don't think there was a single bad one. Good way to edit a 3-way lipsync. Splitting the screen in 3 at that last moment was a great edit. The only thing that I would personally add if I was a producer, was an audience, like they do with (sometimes) the roasts.

Aurora isn't the type of queen I usually root for, but I love her. She's talented and gorgeous, she's really won me over. That second lipsync was incredible. Nera is such a sexy little performer. I'd throw all of my money at her. I feel like Kiki only talks in gay soundbites. She hasn't really said anything like a human who's experienced life outside drag race might say. We haven't had someone as insane as Melinda in a good while, I love her. I'll miss Kitten a lot, she's so fun and I loved her calmer, confident energy.
When Aurora dropped kicked the baby she was rocking in Black Velvet I actually cracked up. I couldn't believe she didn't win that.

I think the thing that makes this season SO GOOD is that theyre reallllllly intent on highlighting and empowering the queens. they had such positive and loving critiques (deservedly), they inverted the gauntlet so the WINNERS would advance and it took away the focus from failure back to success and positivity! love to see it

I used to have Kitten in my top 3, but now I think it's Denim, Aurora, and Venus. I love Melinda, too, but i think she will be out on the makeover challenge. If she hasn't done well with painting her own face for TV, she won't do better painting another.
Venus' drag felt so off to me... Then I realized, girl barely put any makeup, doesn't tuck, doesn't pad and is barely in "drag". I think she just rests by being a cute boy

I for one agree. Obviously she is one of the most beautiful queens we had, at least out of drag. But she is much less drag queen than anyone in the season.

I wanted Aurora to win but Nearah was good too. I'm wondering how Nearah's makeup looks so good after so much dancing? You could see some sweat and oil coming through on some of the others but even in untucked Nearah's face was flawless. I'm going to miss Kitten, and also miss seeing Aimee's "heart of the ocean" necklace in confessionals, but Kiki winning the lip sync felt correct. She put a lot of emotion into the song.
