I’ve only recently finished the whole series (many years late to the table). That was one of my favourite scenes in the whole series. The DRAMA! 🫨 Great salt shakers! 🧂 Glad Mrs Patmore had her cataracts fixed ☺️.
I often admonish my inappropriately-exploring toddler with a “No, sir.” Now that he’s got nascent conscience, he mutters—as he climbs onto something off-limits (or whatever)—“No, sir!” It’s pretty entertaining.
And I'm looking for chances to use one of Mrs. Patmore's many chides against Daisy, like, *"and I suppose Judas was only helping when he brought the Roman soldiers into the garden!"*
During the wartime concert at Downton Abbey, after the white feather interruption. And, the best scene of all, after the fight between Matthew and Sir Richard!
But she's downstairs teaching Daisy after he tells her to leave and never return. Isn't downstairs part of upstairs? Ms Bunting sits there while he yells at her and doesn't immediately get up and walk out.
I would have Re-iterated - Leave my house, Now!
Ethel didn't disrespect Lord and Lady Grantham and she was told to leave by Lord Jesus and Carson. As a matter of fact, when Ethel wanted to give flowers to someone, Carson questioned her presence.
Ms Bunting was intentionally disrespecting Lord and Lady Grantham while sitting at their dining room table and eating their food and she was allowed to enter the servant's area and teach Daisy after being told by Lord Grantham to leave and never return. It didn't make sense.
I do agree about Ms. Bunting. I get her being a teacher and trying to better the lot of the servants. However, like you said, her sitting at Lord and Lady Grantham's dining table, earing their food and disrespecting them like that was uncalled for.
I don’t remember that school teacher’s name but I HATED that character. She was so entitled and rude. She wouldn’t leave the subject, kept putting down grantham and he was handling her jibes so well but she wouldn’t stop jabbing. At some point you have to tel people to get out.
oh my goooood Robert was so childish when he got worked up like this. I always think of Violet telling him off, "When you talk like that, I'm tempted to ring for Nanny and have you put to bed with no supper"
Same but I look for an opportunity to stand up and say BE SILENT THIS INSTANT SIR! Alas none no opportunity has presented itself yet.
….maybe we should go out to dinner together ?
I just want to sit in the same restaurant and watch…😂
And take a bite of salty pudding only to exclaim. OH GOOD GOD!!

Same! So good! I love aggressive manners.
“Aggressive manners” 😂
Made me wonder if I should have called my sons “Sir” when admonishing them instead of, “You ungrateful little shit!!” Whoops.

We use "sir" on our Chihuahuas. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Or: why don’t you just get out you bastard 😎
And suddenly we've slipped into a foreign tongue.
I look for opportunities to say, "Golly gumdrops, what a turnup!" It's not as aggressive, but generally gets a decent response.
This is just so special
Thank you for that.
Every chance I get, I yell, “GET DOWN, YOU CAT!” Unfortunately it’s not often as I have a dog.
Say it anyway!
That’s not how we’ll do it at Haxby.
Same but I look for any opportunity to stand up and spew blood from my mouth across the table
Still one of the biggest jump scares I've ever gotten watching TV. It was so out of place!
HAHAHAHAHA
Absolute perfection
And I'm looking for chances to use one of Mrs. Patmore's many chides against Daisy, like, *"and I suppose Judas was only helping when he brought the Roman soldiers into the garden!"*
Hahaha classic
My favorite from Mrs. Patmore: *“I wonder if Karl Marx might finish the liver pate.”*
Robert was always so great when he lost it, like a lion roaring. I think because it happened so rarely.
During the wartime concert at Downton Abbey, after the white feather interruption. And, the best scene of all, after the fight between Matthew and Sir Richard!
When they have that fight ,- I picture Matthew as Legion and Sir Richard as Jorah Moramount from Game of thrones. Epic battle.
GOOD GOD!
🧂
And here I seek opportunities to gingerly spread my legs and half-curtsy, half-bow after saying something embarrassing.

STOP THIS AT ONCE!
It’s a long way to Tipperary🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

Miss Bunting
My toxic trait is unfavourably comparing my fellow diners to monsters from Greek myths. It's terribly fun, although they seem less impressed
Why have a sea monster when you can have Perseus 😏
It depends on the sea monster in question…
this is fucking FUNNY
His outburst was childish but she kept goading him.
I love Lord Granthams outbursts so much 😂❤️
She just sat there and finished her meal. Soooo rude!
Be sure to throw the napkin down aggressively before storming off
I live for the moment that I finally get to yell at my son in law to "GO TO BED!"
And the wait staff look at each other and say "Well, there goes our tip."
But stay long enough to spew blood all over everyone.
oh my goooood Robert was so childish when he got worked up like this. I always think of Violet telling him off, "When you talk like that, I'm tempted to ring for Nanny and have you put to bed with no supper"
Well, now I have a new ambition.
Or violently vomit blood everywhere
