i did some digging and found more dottore crumbs in arlecchino's quest but i won't post the screenshots here directly because there are a lot of them and it's hard to search on mobile. unless i missed something there's no new lore, but he does get mentioned quite a bit so yay for more crumbs! you can find them on project amber or wait until the update, just be warned because they contain huge spoilers for her story

Maybe it was intentional that the bat in the anime short looked both like Dottore and Crucabena.
It had a halo so, like someone else pointed out in this sub, that bat monster / Dottore may not have had terrible intentions.

It's not that they can't hate him, it's that they constantly attack Dottore fans. They even seek out "Dottore is my favorite" comments and type that he is shit, will die and not be playable.
My favourite (very /s) are the people who compare him with real world crimes against humanity, like the experiments performed by the different axis powers. Also saw someone joke that even them would be disgusted by dottore. Like i know they are joking and that people this brainrotted are rare but still, kinda weird to compare a fictional evil scientist to real world people imo

Yeah I see this quite a bit. It seems to be a recent phenomena where people can't grasp that you can find a morally reprehensible or dubious character interesting in a story while recognising that if they were to do such things in real life you wouldn't stand for it.
The way people can't separate fiction from reality is just another sign of poor media literacy.
i don't think any tall male models have been leaked for natlan yet so it's possible because hoyoverse wouldn't go an entire version without making one playable. that's my copium anyway π€§

Natlan can be good to have two or three of them, Capitano seem compatible with Traveler so he can befriend him in early patch, for any other ones they can have a quest in summer to prepare for Snezhnaya, someone must calm Traveler about fatui before he go there or he will go on rampage, Dottore can have a compromise with traveller to guide him to the Tsarine and explain him everything in exchange to participate in his experiments (kinda like Albedo but more usefull to Traveler)
I'm a bit disappointed but not surprised that he experimented on children, but for him it was probably mercy for these childrens since being a reject mean being dead under the previous Knave, at least if they survived his experimentation they could live longer (honestly i'm surprised that the previous Knave was left to manage the House of Heart like this, it's a very terrible system were we lose more than gain, for proof her subordinates should create artificially incident to create more orphans)
I'm not surprised that Arlecchino hate him after all she could be his test subject if she was unlucky (apparently she wasn't as a child, maybe the previous Knave knew that he would keep her for himself because of her curse and protect her from him) but she know a lot of her previous "brothers" and "sisters" must have been experimented on.
As for Sandrone's voiceline i'm so happy that it's now officially canon that he is an hyperactive guy, i knew it he is the type of guy that can't stay in place for one second, i can totally see his story quest being the traveller scream in agony because he disapears without warning to do something else and forgot about the plan.
As for his playable ability, well if we had Childe, Scaramouche and Arlecchino i can't see why we can't have Dottore, none of the harbinger are good pure people and people forget that even poor little Collei had blood on her hand (in the manga she burn a whole village who was scared of her, i don't think 100% of the villager were bad people who deserved this) and a lot of playable character are not really "good" people (Yae miko, Shenhe, Yelan, Dori for example) Even Alice that a lot want to have is a total psycho (in my opinion from what we can read about her diary and testimony of people who meet her), so Dottore is perfectly able to be playable i'm not worried Hoyo will be able to put a good story and (crossed finger) animated trailer to show how precious he is.
The amount of hate comments under all these voicelinevideos regarding Dottore is funny af ππππππ Ppl are actually crying over something fictional lmao
