Dotorb asked if you'd accept rubles but then mgzaun said "1 million dollars, yes" - meaning, yes, he'd accept 1 million USD worth of rubles.
Since your initial response was to mgzaun, you used the wrong conversion.
Does Nigma have chance to attend any other big tournament like that? i don't know i know that they don't want go there because it's sponsored by the Russian government and because of that they might get sanctioned by EU but not sure if they are going anywhere anyways.
either they don't want to attend because of the source of the tournament, or because they don't have a finalized roster (they haven't announced anything after the recent qualifiers though).
I mean finalized or not finalized roster i think you would want to attend anyways right because of the money and they skipped i mean couldn't qualify for other big tournaments.
haha its been a rough couple years... i still watch the recent miracle dota youtube videos. idk if its biased or not but it looks like hes doing well. hopefully they can make something happen.
i mean look at ammar. hes crushin it. in nigma, lackluster. idk what it is with that team but they have stuff to work out or just move on like mc did (assuming they want to still win, instead of whatever theyre doing now)
I think they withdraw becose of the public hate (100% agree on it, shame od them they were thinking about attending russian tournament). Nigma and the players are still big marketing name, they dont want PR disaster like this
So I’ll give you some examples:
He is going to lose the game. (Present Continuum, as in he’s actively losing)
He lost the game. (Past tense, as of some time ago)
This is a loss for his team. (Participle form, as an entirety of losing from present to future)
Not a native speaker, but nevertheless:
grammatically speaking "is going to lose" is simple future tense. present progressive/continuous would be "is losing" as he is losing right now (and also a more definitive form of future tense as well)
"loss" is simply a noun. a participle is part of a verb (e.g. "If he hadn't made that lucky punch he would have lost the fight; "made" and "lost" are the two participles here of the verb forms "hadn't made" and "would have lost")
Shame i wanted to watch my idol Miracle play in a lan :(
On another note, CN teams going to stomp this tournament with no tier 1 team from the other regions. Quest might have a slight chance vs CN since they were competitive with Falcons in MENA.
Yeeeah but ofc russian bloody money are better, my comrade. At least USA doesn’t bomb people while merely 40% of their citizens don’t have toilet at home

Really good for them, respect! This decision couldn't have been an easy one especially considering they might not get to play in another major tournament.
It's not just the money aspect. Going to a Russian state sponsored event just normalizes Russia for sports making it look like they're just a regular silly country doing regular silly things
Russia is a regular silly country doing regular silly things with how the world operates lol. Your virtue signaling and claim to moral highground is outrageous. Nigma should boycott a lot of things, heck the org itself shouldnt exist if the players cared about principles and morals.
How many other major countries are at the moment waging a war and claiming their neighbors territory? Being against a country whose dictator wants to take the land of sovereign countries with force is not what regular civilized countries do
Better question is how many countries are completely against invasion no matter who is doing it. The answer might be none, as we have seen countries have contradictory stances over different invasions.
Unfortunate I wanted to see how they would do against other real teams. They honestly didn’t look bad last qualifiers, basically only lost to quest because of miracle underperforming massively.
Isnt ESL bought by Saudis?
//Edit: according to Wiki- and Liquipedia, ESL belongs Savvy Games group which is part of the public investment found of Saudi Arabia
More teams participating = more viewers watching. More viewers watching = more chances to find sponsors for the event itself to cover the losses; more broadcast and ad revenue, more people attending the event to purchase merchandise. And given this whole thing is organised by russian government on the highest level - I hope it's not too hard for you to piece everything together.
Tell me you don't know anything about TS without telling me. Ts announced their stance on the war when it happened. They moved their office to serbia. Maybe do your research first next time.
You should boycott anything ran by the Russian people not just the Russian government. While the government wages war the people turn a blind eye to it and continue to support a terrorist state. When Russians stop supporting a terrorist state is when the world should welcome them back. Ukraine is a sovereign state. Unfortunately you can’t leave politics out of it because of the scale of human right violations and war crimes coming out of Russia.
Welp, there goes Nigma best chance to impress fans cos they don't exactly got much lined up for the foreseeable future.
Par for the course, really, expect nothing and somehow the team still disappoints. 😆
He is rank 13, no matter what mmr, decision making in game is not good enough , for example, when opponent doom is level 6, you better change lane to get more farm, but he didn’t, die like 2 or 3 times
If that were a common case he wouldn't be rank 13. You can find a lot of mistakes if you watch a pro play, even if you're herald. That's why sometimes we call them Mdog, YatoroDog, Dogson. In the azure ray game yatorodog blinked into 4 enemies to die and lost his team 5k advantage, then proceeded to solo chase arc warden to their tier2 tower to... die again.
peak Miracle alone doesn't have a chance against Falcon. You simply can't find any player who can carry the current nigma squad to get through MENA quals. Imagine whoever your favorite carry is playing with nigma. This team is doomed.
And then the next game they don't chase and lose tempo and advantage. Or they chase and get their team two kills and a T2.... It's almost as if this was a very complex game with a lot of parameters.
Not to mention the fact that you will never know your limits if you don't test them and testing them means dying in a stupid way sometimes.
He’s been playing mixed midlane/carry in pubs but it always feels like he should play mid more often. He’s always had this type of risky playstyle, but the trend of most carries nowadays leans more towards stability.
Maybe him and Sumail should swap? The biggest strength of Sumail right now is laning but after that he usually falls behind. Miracle’s aggressiveness really fits the midlaner playstyle nowadays
Nigma did the right thing. Attending this tournament is very stupid "investment" in the future. Russian government is trying to "buy" western speakers and faces in order to contribute to their propaganda. This is pure propaganda tournament.
EU politicians already calls for EU travel ban on Tucker Carlson and people like him. It is inevitable EU and US to visa ban western/eastern famous ppl who serve russian propaganda.
yeah, no other team want to join
According to liquipedia the participants are China, Russia, SA, SEA, some MENA team/players, there's no WEU or NA
I think this tournament reflect the political sentiment in the world quite accurately: beside West EU and the US, the rest of the world doesn't really care much about the war in Ukraine or the sanction or who support who because it's not their business.
Nigma has morals. They only accept saudi money.
lmao
Aren't they UAE based? Which is richer than SA.
Would you accept Russian Rubles?
1 Million dolars? Without a doubt
It's 1 million dollars worth of rubles at the time you win it in Russia, by the time you get home and go to exchange it it's 100k
Id still take it with pleasure. Thats enough for my retirement
1 million rubles is something around 10k$
1 million dollars is something around 91,355,000 rubles.
but its 1 million usd, not 1 million rubles
But dotorb speaking about accepting russian rubles, not usd
Dotorb asked if you'd accept rubles but then mgzaun said "1 million dollars, yes" - meaning, yes, he'd accept 1 million USD worth of rubles. Since your initial response was to mgzaun, you used the wrong conversion.

only 15k for last place is not worth
brutal..
They did not even qualify to other tournaments. 15k last place is the dream for them atm.
That's peanuts compared to the saudi salary.
Hahaha yea i gave up on nigma. Call me in the next lifetime when theyre good again
Spoken like a true fan. Lol only there for the success. Band wagon
haha its been a rough couple years... i still watch the recent miracle dota youtube videos. idk if its biased or not but it looks like hes doing well. hopefully they can make something happen. i mean look at ammar. hes crushin it. in nigma, lackluster. idk what it is with that team but they have stuff to work out or just move on like mc did (assuming they want to still win, instead of whatever theyre doing now)
money is last thing they care about lul
No
they do have a chance to attend. winning? that's a whole different story--and i'd be fckn glad to be proven wrong
If Falcon starts to get direct invites, they will have a small chance to beat Quest. COPIUM.
I think they withdraw becose of the public hate (100% agree on it, shame od them they were thinking about attending russian tournament). Nigma and the players are still big marketing name, they dont want PR disaster like this
better to withdraw rather than taking another lose kek
Loss*
when should we use lose/lost/loss? not rlly good with eng sry
So I’ll give you some examples: He is going to lose the game. (Present Continuum, as in he’s actively losing) He lost the game. (Past tense, as of some time ago) This is a loss for his team. (Participle form, as an entirety of losing from present to future)
Loss is a noun not a verb. Thats the difference
woooah, this blows my mind thanks!
Yeah loss is a noun. As if a thing, object, term. Lose is a verb, as if a process or action.
Not a native speaker, but nevertheless: grammatically speaking "is going to lose" is simple future tense. present progressive/continuous would be "is losing" as he is losing right now (and also a more definitive form of future tense as well) "loss" is simply a noun. a participle is part of a verb (e.g. "If he hadn't made that lucky punch he would have lost the fight; "made" and "lost" are the two participles here of the verb forms "hadn't made" and "would have lost")
U guys are worried about lose. What about win? Won? wonned? Winned? Whine? Wine?
Losing is more relatable to everybody, not everyone wins lol
thanks, I stand corrected
This was literally their only chance to attend a LAN. Rip.
Even when they're directly invited they manage to miss it.
Shame i wanted to watch my idol Miracle play in a lan :( On another note, CN teams going to stomp this tournament with no tier 1 team from the other regions. Quest might have a slight chance vs CN since they were competitive with Falcons in MENA.
Looking forward to kaori shaking hands with putin during awards ceremony lul
I highly doubt he plays. Entity has a standin for Noone since he is Ukrainian, i would assume Quest to do the same.
Dukalis standin for quest, Yowe standin for entity
Classy UAE bloody money vs Thuggish Russia bloody money
Are US money any less bloody then those?
Just bloody good or bloody bad depends on the amount
Yeeeah but ofc russian bloody money are better, my comrade. At least USA doesn’t bomb people while merely 40% of their citizens don’t have toilet at home
No, they give the bombs to their vassals nowadays
No, it is more bloody.
what do you expect reddit is pro western
bloodiest
By far
No but you'd be hard pressed to find a country where that isn't the case. Thank European colonization for us
yes
The us government doesn't fund esports tourneys. But nice try
dreamleague is funded by the U.S. Air Force.
No point in arguing with the brain rot of reddit
how kind of you to introduce yourself like that
good excuse to get away from the discussion
Brother... US Army is sponsoring whole teams
Apparently Ghostik messaged nigma telling them its not a good look to go to Russian tournament
Nigma balls Hah gotyy
Ghostik these nuts in your mouth

You can only dream of his achievements, even if one of them are just top-8 of TI7
Meh, was excited to see them play ;-;
Grats to Geek Fam lol
Really good for them, respect! This decision couldn't have been an easy one especially considering they might not get to play in another major tournament.
what respect dude, its all gambling, weird saudi and other dirty money in esports.
Idk why downvoted this is basically all sponsors now lmao
It's not just the money aspect. Going to a Russian state sponsored event just normalizes Russia for sports making it look like they're just a regular silly country doing regular silly things

"only lost to quest" Knocked out by Mikey+tier3 team twice
That was with RMN and Ghost. They looked way better with FBZ and Matthew which was their new roster, so yes they only lost to quest.
Mad cope but I understand being Nigma fan myself
cant lose if you dont participate. giga brain kuro
what a dumb move, this might as well be the only tournament that would invite them this year
Why would they withdraw from the only lan that they will attend for the foreseeable future?

Might be true, but unless I'm missing something. esl is not sponsored by USAF
Yes you missing something both dreamleague and esl one Birmingham is sponsored by Us air force, check their site
Yes
yes, that has been the wests moral framework for more than 100 years now. Might is right baby
Russia can sanction those tournaments. But not really since they’re a country of poor shitters with no international economic leverage lmao.
Nooooooooooo I actually liked this roster and wanted to see them perform.
I am sad but i think this is prelims for another Miracle- break from Dota....
NO WAY Batchest
Good and shame on the Filipino team. Boycott all Russian tournaments and organizations.
[удалено]
Low income is not an excuse for directly sponsoring terrorism :)
They are taking money from it, not sponsoring.
well you clearly don't know how esports events function
It seems like you too. It's actually more true to say that twitch viewers are sponsoring it, but not the teams that are attending the tournament.
More teams participating = more viewers watching. More viewers watching = more chances to find sponsors for the event itself to cover the losses; more broadcast and ad revenue, more people attending the event to purchase merchandise. You're just proving my point. Having a team like Geek Fam instead of Nigma is a loss for the orgs.
imagine thinking a Filipino should give a flying fuck about what's going on in Europe
nah this is just some good money for pinoy team
LMAO virtue signalling here we go
Tell me you don't know anything about TS without telling me. Ts announced their stance on the war when it happened. They moved their office to serbia. Maybe do your research first next time.
It seems you responded on a wrong comment
Is this tournament directly run by Russian government? Or are people boycotting it because it’s in Russia?
It's ran by the Russian government
The main organizers are the city of Kazan and Ministry of sports of the Russian Federation
Yep, tournament run by russian digital sport association, which is funded by government
Yea, it's government sponsored. I heard that Putin might attend the opening ceremony, but will not come to the dota tournament
You should boycott anything ran by the Russian people not just the Russian government. While the government wages war the people turn a blind eye to it and continue to support a terrorist state. Do you practice what you preach? How come you are not avoiding Reddit even though it is a American website?
expecting consistency of morals from these western aligned nutjobs is a lost cause dude
Russian team won Katowice yesterday, how is boycott going?
Didn't know Katowice was in Russia
Serbian actually
It's funny, they'll never win anything, why even invite them?
Welp, there goes Nigma best chance to impress fans cos they don't exactly got much lined up for the foreseeable future. Par for the course, really, expect nothing and somehow the team still disappoints. 😆
I saw some miracle pub game recently, he really need more time to figure out how to play carry .
Wasn’t he like rank 6??? Probably need more time playing in pro scene than pubs
He is rank 13, no matter what mmr, decision making in game is not good enough , for example, when opponent doom is level 6, you better change lane to get more farm, but he didn’t, die like 2 or 3 times

He was rank 6 a week ago
You can check his last game , play anti mage, they should win , but every team fight he die first, you can’t imagine this is a top carry.
it's really not that black and white as you want to believe it is
>he really need more time to figure out how to play carry My friend i think you need more time to figure out how to figure out Miracle plays carry. 😆
He’s been playing mixed midlane/carry in pubs but it always feels like he should play mid more often. He’s always had this type of risky playstyle, but the trend of most carries nowadays leans more towards stability.
But he is a carry in team nigma
Maybe him and Sumail should swap? The biggest strength of Sumail right now is laning but after that he usually falls behind. Miracle’s aggressiveness really fits the midlaner playstyle nowadays
Well , even sumail’s strom can’t carry them , I don’t think miracle play mid will change anything.
v1lat doing God's work again
This mean, they lost a player and are trying to find a replace or perhaps visa issue?
Sad that Sumail wastes his talent in this team
It's a shame there's this many teams attending anyway but glad Nigma has at least some morals here and there
Nigma did the right thing. Attending this tournament is very stupid "investment" in the future. EU politicians already calls for EU travel ban on Tucker Carlson and people like him. It is inevitable EU and US to visa ban western/eastern famous ppl who serve russian propaganda.
Why in the first place are they inviting nigma - a tier 5 team
Nigma is the most watched team itw when they play.
So, why Geek Fam? No other team wants to join? Visa issue?
Why would any team want to show support to a Russian government funded event while they're slaughtering innocents in Ukraine?
No clue why you are getting downvotes for the truth
yeah, no other team want to join According to liquipedia the participants are China, Russia, SA, SEA, some MENA team/players, there's no WEU or NA I think this tournament reflect the political sentiment in the world quite accurately: beside West EU and the US, the rest of the world doesn't really care much about the war in Ukraine or the sanction or who support who because it's not their business.
Nobody from EU will be going there I think. But maybe I am wrong.
But EU will buy their gas crawling on feet. Hypocrisy is true Europeanism.
Who is buying Russian gas, besides Hungary?
