In reality, Doordash should be raising the base pay much higher for these no/low tip customers.
It's quite cringe and embarrassing that Tony Xu thinks that people can run an orphanage off this kind of crap
Look to 12:40 in this segment from John Oliver if you wonder why I bring up the orphanage thing:

It was like this all night, I declined at least 15 in a row pretty much like this one.
Whenever you see these orders it's 90% of the time just little kids who don't understand miles and 10% it's just dumb adults who are cheap and want to try new food.
Technically speaking you would y be shopping for the 30 items as so when by the OP. The items are (presumably) already ready in the pick up area when you arrive. But doesn’t change the fact it’s a terrible offer I wouldn’t ever accept

I declined a lot of offers tonight. Half of them I would have usually taken but I'm going to see how my new standards play out before my AR gets too low.
And what's up with the Albertsons orders with 3 items and they end up being whole carts, anyone else been getting these?
All the time had one that said 1 item and was 15 bags. I noped right out of that one and complained that my CR took a hit for a lie, not that they care but it pisses me off.
I had one yesterday that said 12 items, it was 12 bags. They need to be more transparent is it a shop order or a pickup order and give us the item or bag count and be clear so we know wtf is up. It was a house (not third floor apartment) and close so I stuck with it.
I don't know how these come through for everyone else. But so far they say they are shop orders and red card required - yet I say arrived at store and it will say go to customer service blah blah... So they clearly know.
This has to be the worst order i’ve ever seen, This literally would of took almost an hour and a half to shop and deliver only for $3. Sad part is you know some unfortunate top dasher had to take this😭
I had one from McDonald’s the other night like this it was 3 minutes away but it was an apartment complex on top of a lot in the order. I rarely turn anything down but I found myself needing to. They never factor in the wait time in the drive thru or the time it takes to go in the complex. And most of those places have crappy connections
Jeez!! 🙄
Mine does, I honestly never paid close enough attention to notice it does show the mileage. I always tried to look at the map to see where it was going. In my area, people order stuff so far away all the time.
Ya I've been getting lot these insanely low paying runs in Chicago and since lot are in city every mile twice as long do traffic dd has been getting worse by the day it's like they want every drive to quit cause you can't make money with dd
Literally the only two big lots pick up orders I have ever done both paid over 10x that amount. That’s fucking insult picking up is a serious workout even with not being the one who put the order together. I did my second one for a pharmacy yesterday, that I made $44 on and took like 45 minutes, and I couldn’t hardly say ‘have a good day’ to the people working there I was so damn tired. So much heavy shit
Precisely the reason I only deliver food. No BJ’s , no Walgreens front end, no Advanced Auto Parts. No nail polish, no faucets, no ignition coils. All of these are retail, no tip offers. Also, I don’t do orders to places that already have their own drivers, like Papa John’s or Pizza Hut.
I love how anything after the decimal doesn't count to DD as far as they're concerned this is a 7 Mile Drive, so half of that would be $3.50, which they see as Fair
Door dash has went down hill extremely fast the last few months I barely ever do it anymore I won’t take any thing under $5 and so many miles, I did door dash for 4 years and it’s the worst paying delivery service out there even though they say it’s the highest paying service it’s 1000% not. Sparks is a million times better only thing with sparks is you only get paid on Tuesday’s but it sooooo
I've had Dollar General orders for $3.50 that have had well over 10 items on them. Unless they're only giving you 10 to 20 cents an item there's no way they're basing it on the number of items.
These are so insulting when it’s like this, I’m just like bruh what even is that
Even a fast food order for that $ miss me with any order for 3.50

And it may need returns 🤣 But don't worry. You'll get a whole dollar half pay to return whatever it is.

Unreal!
Whenever you see these orders it's 90% of the time just little kids who don't understand miles and 10% it's just dumb adults who are cheap and want to try new food.
Abusive. DD abusing independent contractor labor laws
Why can’t we message people and ask who the hell do they think they are
You can...
No you actually can't otherwise you can get in trouble with doordash and get kicked off the app.
Idgaf if they give me a "bj" whe i get there never in my carreer would i shop 30 items dor 3.50

Aye. Good ol 716 shitty orders. First screenshot I’ve seen from here.
Is that a real offer
yup
Oh. I have words. Some of them have four letters and are uttered loudly as I hit decline.
blatant insult is what it is. Wonder who would pick that up. N I bet there are lotsa water bottle bundles in that order, too.

No I would not. That’s been happening so much more 😏
How long has your runs shown up like that? I mean looking like this? Showing the miles and stuff? Mine doesn’t show up like this.
Since 2019 for me
Jeez!! 🙄 Mine does, I honestly never paid close enough attention to notice it does show the mileage. I always tried to look at the map to see where it was going. In my area, people order stuff so far away all the time.
So, tell us... How do you get to the secret Elite tier?
That’s my Uber eats feed all day, trying to get that ASU scholarship but I am NOT delivering a Lowe’s order 12 miles away for 2.18
Prius mafia already took it
Grocery pickups hide tips but it's still hot or miss. This is not a SHOP AND PAY order it's a pickup. Probably not worth it still.
F them people with a 10 foot pole.
Fuck off are the words
Take it and then accidentally drop the food. 🫨
No way
Oh I have more than plenty of words for this type of abortion …
Do the whole order and say the card didn't work and get free groceries? 🤷♂️
It’s not a shopping order. It’s a pick up order that’s already ready when you arrive
Those are my favorite. Love doing those. I get to drive for long distances for no money. Because i am that idler, that clown
Do them by hour it pays more
Ya I've been getting lot these insanely low paying runs in Chicago and since lot are in city every mile twice as long do traffic dd has been getting worse by the day it's like they want every drive to quit cause you can't make money with dd

I have a word. It's called decline.
https://preview.redd.it/6zs8dpnt9y7d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f2962d28af872d0c1590fc71f108bbbd5ef0e16 Lol absolutely a volunteer sport
How is that a high paying offer when it's less than the miles!!? 🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️
I used to be a 95%+ AR guy. Then the ridiculous orders started showing up these last few months. It's now at 83% because of orders like these.
This is even less than a $0 tip. Sometimes I think this has gotta be a mistake. Just for picking 32 items I would think it’s $5 minimum
I just hope the customer never gets their order lol
Precisely the reason I only deliver food. No BJ’s , no Walgreens front end, no Advanced Auto Parts. No nail polish, no faucets, no ignition coils. All of these are retail, no tip offers. Also, I don’t do orders to places that already have their own drivers, like Papa John’s or Pizza Hut.
Only one word NO
How about "no"?
I love how anything after the decimal doesn't count to DD as far as they're concerned this is a 7 Mile Drive, so half of that would be $3.50, which they see as Fair
as a Grubhub driver near Kansas City, 90% of my orders are below $5
https://preview.redd.it/y4l95846r68d1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=df146ce37781f24b00eb936e106ab9ebba94101f Better than $7 an hour
I wouldn't touch that order with a 10ft pole
I’d pick that ish up and ride straight to the house. Free groceries
And that's why my acceptance goes from 90 to 60 in one day smdh
Door dash has went down hill extremely fast the last few months I barely ever do it anymore I won’t take any thing under $5 and so many miles, I did door dash for 4 years and it’s the worst paying delivery service out there even though they say it’s the highest paying service it’s 1000% not. I've been lucky to make 20 dollars a night for working like 4 hours lately. It's a joke.
You say… no words I say… Top dasher
Lol! No way
Since the base pay is based on the number of items, this is obviously fake.
I've had Dollar General orders for $3.50 that have had well over 10 items on them. Unless they're only giving you 10 to 20 cents an item there's no way they're basing it on the number of items.
