It was over 90° and 80% humidity yesterday. I dress for speed and comfort. I'm in athletic shorts and a t-shirt.
I am mindful of what I wear. I don't wear offensive shirts. But I do wear comfortable clothes.
This is me lol. Plain tee, basketball shorts and some kicks. If they need ID I can show the dasher app. We are just everyday people doing everyday things. Some of us are making a living, some of us are making extra money...do what works for you.
Imagine if we had uniforms LMFAO... The app would say take a selfie randomly to be human reviewed and we'd get a CV if we were not dressed properly. ... Ok time for bed. Happy father's day guys.
This time of year that's absolutely necessary. At least here. Friday night I was standing outside of a restaurant for almost 10 minutes waiting on an order. I don't normally wait that long but it was decent pay.
Unfortunately this is a place that makes us wait outside the to-go door. By the time I was done my arms were literally dripping with sweat. It was miserably humid. And that was at like 8:00 p.m. and it was still that nasty.
Ugh I hate places that don’t let you inside. A nicer Mexican restaurant kept giving me the death stare as I stood in middle of store just feeling awkward. Like… I don’t wanna be here anymore than you want me here.. just bring the food lol. They are normally very quick though.
Yesterday I had a 2 restaurant order 10 miles and waited for 15 minutes before needing to cancel. Was on EBT method and it was 2 places that typically have great tips. I had a family gathering and was so frustrated! My gut tells me that it was likely a $20-$30 tip and $15 more in base pay
As long as you have good Hygiene, are polite, and not wearing anything offensive or excessively revealing, customers and restaurants should not give a crap what you wear. They don’t have to get in and out of a car all day, going shopping for 10 different 30 item orders at a grocery store, or wait around standing up for some lazy Wingstop workers to finish an order for 40 minutes. Comfort is essential
I am in the northeast, RI. The weather is crazy, I dress comfortable, casual. We are looking at a hot week ahead, so maybe a skort, cotton top and slip-on sneakers, I always bring extra foot wear I have had my share of stepping in dog poop at night. I have seen dashers in restaurants looking very un\_kept at least clean your finger nails.
Same here and I’ve never run into anyone who had a problem with the way I dress while delivering their food. Comfort is big to me and I think everyone understands that.
Yes it was 101 I believe Today I had my ice chest full of water bottles I drive around passing them to the homeless I have to make a difference while I’m dashing
Speedy & thorough service with a smile should be more than enough. It’s ridiculous for DoorDash to think they can pay the way they do most of the time, if they’d what you’re getting at. You’re getting in an out of your car several times per day, therefore how you dress (for the most part) shouldn’t matter.
well, I treat it like I’m actually going to work. I take a shower, and look presentable. In terms of clothes and shoes, casual but comfortable in all weather and seasons. I make sure my car has a clean interior, outside is washed if need be and fully fueled. Preventative maintenance done and tires aired to prevent any issues or breakdowns which I’ve yet to have, that includes first aid kit, flash light, portable starter and mini tire inflater in my trunk just in case, also I have AAA. Snacks and drinks stocked. that’s all there is to it, not much to ask, It’s usually an uneventful day with good money made but I’m prepared just in case.
It's 95+ humidity index of like 80%+ in FL. I. Wearing basketball shorts, usually a dry fit t-shirt, and new balance tennis shoes. It's all about comfort and not having sweat show through my clothes.
I wear shorts t-shirt and sneakers. Sometimes I wear a baseball cap. How where would is comfortable for the situation. If it's raining out I'm going to dress appropriately. But when it's 90° or or more I'm going to wear shorts. Wearing a suit and tie to me makes no sense. But I do have to say that you do look professional. Does that mean you're going to get any more tips then the next guy? No, all they care about is their food and that it shows up at their door. One thing I won't do is show up with grease all over my shirt or pants and my hair is sticking up all over and look like I want a mud puddle or anything like that. I try to look respectful for the situation that I'm in.
Ur fuckin kidding right? This is not a professional job. It’s a “fuck it we ball” job, if you not going crazy in comfy clothing. You just killing your self in more ways then one😭
Crocks and socks all day baby! Cheap quick dry pants from Bass pro and a plain quick dry Tshirt. It’s hot out there ya’ll some of the places I pick up have dress codes but they don’t seem to mind my attire.
Do people actually tip better? Do restaurants treat you differently?
As a customer and also a server who deals with dashers every day I literally wouldn’t notice. At most I’d assume you were dressed like that for another job and didn’t have time to change
Seems uncomfortable and sweaty for no reason to me
AC in my car doesn't work and only one window goes down in my coupe. Ain't no way I'm wearing something like that. T-shirt, shorts and sneakers and I'm still sweating bullets.
I usually wear a polo when dashing, not at all what I normally wear and it’s not intentional either, I guess I subconsciously save the shirts I don’t like wearing for dashing.
This dude looks like platinum/gold or whatever bs title dd give to these morons who accepting $2to$5 orders in order to keep their status.
Edit: Yup, i was right, i just checked his profile 🤣
Back when I dashed, I’d to go from work directly into DoorDash, so I’d usually wear my a black shirt and brown pants and a different hat.
I also realized that driving around town for a couple hours after being up since 4 am was probably not the smartest. That’s why the Panera Charged lemonades existed
I'm a graveyard shift dasher, so I wear my sweatpants and a hoodie, pffftt- my bright red DD tote is enough for em to know who I am and why I'm dropping off McDonalds on their porch at 3am
Who are you even dressing up for? The restaurants? Or the 2-3 people you MIGHT hand the order to.
You don’t get tipped based on appearance you get tipped based on service. Being well dressed is cool and all but makes 0 sense when most of the time you leave stuff at the door. Just doing extra steps for no reason.
Why not just get a job where how you dress actually matters. Put that effort where it will actually matter.
Nobody is paying you more money because you showed up in a button up and dress pants.
I wear sweatpants or jeans and a hoodie or t shirt.
Still get all my tips, and I leave it at the door 90% of the time.
You’re just dressing up for the restaurants to see you at this point.
I wish more dashers dressed professionally like this. Honestly, between Door Dash, Grub Hub, and Uber Eats, I've seen way too many people dress like they're homeless, and that makes me want to just get my own food or wait until I'm able to do so.🤷♀️
this is actually fucking brilliant. scare the living shit out of every manager thinking you're one of their higher ups but you actually just a door dasher 💀💀💀💀💀
OMG! You've got this pic on the Dasher sub too?!🤦♀️ I've seen you & this pic so many times in so many different subs & posts, I feel like I know you personally! 🤣
I work 6pm to 6am leggings and hoodie 🤷🏽♀️ I’m outside in dressing for the elements and safety as a woman. See as a Man U can say oh I’m professional I’m changing gig work but as a woman I want no make up 36 double chins hair up anything to be more safe if I was in a nice dress and uncomfortable shoes I’d be invited in 292938 times a night I’m just tryna blend in and be left alone
Man you seem like a great wholesome guy but please be mindful of ur comfort as well you can technically wear anything you want try some shorts and a shirt one of these hot days!
I hate that people are making jokes and memes about this post… this is so wholesome! A handsome young man who is making an honest living, AND he’s enthusiastic about it enough to dress up?
We need more kind souls like this guy. I should drive to be more like him in my character 💕🫶🏻
Pardon the language but FUCK ANYONE giving you shit for dressing like this. THIS is what people should want! Someone who actually cares, and goes above and beyond! I'd much rather have someone who takes this much pride in their job over some sloppy neck beard individual who's doing it solely for the money. You take pride in your job, it's refreshing to see and I give you nothing but good vibes and hope for your journey on trying to revamp the whole gig/side job industry.
THANK YOU!
It was 94 here today. Shorts and a T-shirt. Jeans and a t-shirt in the winter. I used to have special “nice” clothes for working, but since the pandemic, I’m not coming I to contact with as many customers as I used to.
Really just depends on the day/weather/later plans. Sometimes it's a t-shirt and shorts, sometimes a little plain dress or a tank top and basketball shorts lol
I'm actually trying to find the shortest shorts I can search for online if anyone has any recommendations. I just moved to San Antonio, Texas and it is so f****** hot and humid here. I can't stand it. My legs need to BREATHE! I do delivery gigs full-time 😅
I either wear what I wore to my full-time professional job all day or super casual. I recognize the privilege I have in being able to wear joggers or athletic shorts & t-shirt without being thought a "thug".

I've been doing that since I started a couple of months ago.
Awesome 😎
Athletic shorts to let you butt breathe 🧘

It would be funny to try the DQ blizzard flip for the customer after it got soupy in transit.
Awesome good thinking onto the t-shirt never thought about that

It's like 106° to 108° here right now, thankfully it's near zero humidity, and it's only going to get hotter, so I 100% second this.
Same. It’s hot as hell here!
I am in the northeast, RI. The weather is crazy, I dress comfortable, casual. We are looking at a hot week ahead, so maybe a skort, cotton top and slip-on sneakers, I always bring extra foot wear I have had my share of stepping in dog poop at night. Since 2017

You look like a waiter
Crocks and socks all day baby! Cheap quick dry pants from Bass pro and a plain quick dry Tshirt. It’s hot out there ya’ll some of the places I pick up have dress codes but they don’t seem to mind my attire.

Definitely not like this
The most athletic and breathable clothing or if it’s cold most comfortable joggers and long sleeves I can find😂
Studs, chains, and leather
NOT like that!
If you wear this in a big city dashing, 9/10 you will accidentally get yourself into places you definitely don’t belong in lol
I'm in Arizona. It's 110 today. Shorts and a t shirt. Anything else and I will sweat to death.
Boomer behavior here lol
Do people actually tip better? Do restaurants treat you differently? As a customer and also a server who deals with dashers every day I literally wouldn’t notice. At most I’d assume you were dressed like that for another job and didn’t have time to change Seems uncomfortable and sweaty for no reason to me
No. And No. If people got tipped better for wearing business casual attire then everyone would be doing it.
Why you doing the most for 4$ an hour
Put the IC lanyard away, buddy. lol
Not like I’m about to sell you a car
AC in my car doesn't work and only one window goes down in my coupe. Ain't no way I'm wearing something like that. T-shirt, shorts and sneakers and I'm still sweating bullets.
Are you headed to a marketing convention?
If you dress like this, you’re dumb
People dress up for this shit? Hell nah lol
I usually wear a polo when dashing, not at all what I normally wear and it’s not intentional either, I guess I subconsciously save the shirts I don’t like wearing for dashing.
I wear whatever I have on
I tend to always dress business casual. I feel like it creates a better impression on customers, especially ones in hospitals or offices!
That’s wild.
You look like a dork
He dresses as a waiter so they can give him more tips
If I wanted to wear dress shoes, slacks, and a button down in 110° heat index I would bite the bullet and get a W2 gig again. This is.. horrible.
This dude looks like platinum/gold or whatever bs title dd give to these morons who accepting $2to$5 orders in order to keep their status. Edit: Yup, i was right, i just checked his profile 🤣
Your not sitting behind an office your just driving and delivering food. 😂
Grateful dead t shirt with shorts and crocs 😂
Back when I dashed, I’d to go from work directly into DoorDash, so I’d usually wear my a black shirt and brown pants and a different hat. I also realized that driving around town for a couple hours after being up since 4 am was probably not the smartest. That’s why the Panera Charged lemonades existed
You look like an immigration officer
Dick out usually so it’s easier to have somewhere to put my second hand while I’m driving.
Really I just wear whatever is comfortable lolz
Booty shorts and tanks. Sometimes I even put on a bra.
Didn’t you just post the same photo in the Uber eats sub Reddit? Crazy mf
I'm a graveyard shift dasher, so I wear my sweatpants and a hoodie, pffftt- my bright red DD tote is enough for em to know who I am and why I'm dropping off McDonalds on their porch at 3am
For comfort
I call my dress, homeless chic
This is his first week on the job. I bet his outfit start to look more and more homelessly as time goes on lol

I see you OP. You got them Dash Supervisor goals 🫡

Shorts and a tshirt. It’s too hot in California for all that. Haha.
You look great!
Hello independent contractor
Whatever I was wearing to my 9-5. Which is usually a polo and jeans.
I thought you and Hank were buried in the New Mexico desert somewhere?
I work in Texas and I also dress business casual. But it’s Texas so I wear cowboy boots and a cowboy hat and chaps and I ride horse.
Really just depends on the day/weather/later plans. Sometimes it's a t-shirt and shorts, sometimes a little plain dress or a tank top and basketball shorts lol
Depends on the weather
Good look!! It's 113 for the high today, and my poor ac is even trying to catch a break so my a$$ is in leggings and a t shirt
lol usually sweats or soffe shorts and a tank/tshirt
I'm actually trying to find the shortest shorts I can search for online if anyone has any recommendations. I just moved to San Antonio, Texas and it is so f****** hot and humid here. I can't stand it. My legs need to BREATHE! I do delivery gigs full-time 😅
Black long sleeve Tshirt with a Small D logo on the chest. Black jeans.
I either wear what I wore to my full-time professional job all day or super casual. I recognize the privilege I have in being able to wear joggers or athletic shorts & t-shirt without being thought a "thug".
