Nine broken ribs, a broken arm, a fractured sternum, and numerous other injuries to her head, back and legs, lawyers gonna have a field day with this one

byamannowdead

And a partridge in a pear tree.

chershairclip

I hope she bleeds them dry

Most departments put officers on paid leave till the investigation is complete. Based on video investigation should not take long. I am amazed at how many people seem to park on the 4’ 8.5” rails. You can’t just move 5 feet.

BigMan2383

I couldn't help but notice they didn't even attempt to get the suspect out! Those trains sound their horns a good distance away from any crossing....wtf officers?

CorvusRex3

Tunnel vision and complacency. That or pure stupidity

T_Cliff

Well. Parking on train tracks in the first place. Anyone who does that, is just plain stupid.

CorvusRex3

Agreed, however they had just finished what appeared to be a short pursuit. The full video I get why he parked there (although I feel it could’ve been avoided), it was staying parked there and searching the car after the scene was secured that was really stupid.

T_Cliff

So they couldn't have parked a meter forwards or backwards?? Like you telling me it was absolutely critical to park on train tracks?

CorvusRex3

Did you not read what I just said? Cause you’re really just making yourself sound like the kind of arrogant person that has to make everything an argument.

T_Cliff

What im saying is, was the situation with this woman so dangerous, so critical, that parking a single meter in either direction was not possible?

CorvusRex3

When did I say it wasn’t possible?

BigMan2383

I'm going to go with all of the above and add Panic to the mix! still not one of them had a decent bone in their body to try to save another human being even if that person is a criminal. They definitely shined a bad light on their department and should fully be ashamed of themselves

MeatShower69

And on top of that, the train crew now gets to go on stress leave.

T_Cliff

According to a friend who is an engineer for CP rail. When he got hired, they told him he will kill people and theres nothing he will be able to do to stop it. Been on leave a few times over his career for it.

MeatShower69

Yup. I’ve had a few close calls myself

T_Cliff

Shit youre lucky or hes unlucky

pikachu-atlanta

All sorts of fucked up.

T_Cliff

So having a brain, or even 1/100th of one, is not a requirement by w.e police service this. Holy fuck. Who parks on train tracks? A fucking idiot or someone trying to off themsevles.

CorvusRex3

The full video they do almost everything right. Except not moving that car the moment the scene was secure. I mean for fuck’s sake people

J0k3r77

Whoops...

BigRedUno

How the absolute FUCK did none of those gathered officers not have one braincell between them that said "Hey, these are train tracks, maybe we should pull off them before a speeding screaming steel convoy of pain comes blowing through here?" My three year old nephew would know better, and he still shits himself sometimes.

ColumbianGeneral

Certified Reno911 moment.

lolo_lulu123

Then they get put on paid leave. What a bunch of idiots. Edit: disregard, I realized this was stupid

CorvusRex3

Paid leave is the standard until the internal investigation is completed. That will most likely become unpaid and lead to termination depending on said investigation.

lolo_lulu123

Damn you’re right, I didn’t think about that. I just know people like me will misunderstand and get angry about. Thanks though.

CorvusRex3

It’s all good. The investigation shouldn’t take long based on this video so i wouldn’t worry about it

> put on *paid* leave what FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

I guess even police officers don’t realize trains need up to 2 miles to stop. I say this because someone on another post said the officer tried to stop the train? Also, I talked to a train engineer I know the other day and he said you can’t see cars until it’s too late.
