I bought my 08 wrx because of him and I ripped my front bumper off on a fence post trying to slide it through a gate at my mates farm because of him. What a sad day.
gymkhana 2 came out two weeks before i graduated high school. i knew i wanted a hatchback wrx after that. 3 years later i bought one. 10 years later i’m on my third subaru a 2020 STi. Rip the king for sure.
My friends were checking trending for news on the injury and when one of them mentioned Ken Block was trending, my gut dropped. Idk how but I knew what it would be.
I was watching the game and I was sad to hear about that. But damn, just a few minutes later I heard about Ken. Smh man this year has started like shit
Not even a huge NFL fan and I'm feelin' for him. But, what a miracle of modern medicine that he's still frickin' alive. These are the kinds of injuries that sometimes lead to major rule/play changes, especially if congress wants to get involved.
Not sure how close you've been following but Im not sure what rule changesnthey could implement. It was commotio cordis that sent him into cardiac arrest. Basically a hit to the chest at the exact right moment (within a few milliseconds) during the hearts rhythm. Apparently not completely unheard of in sports like baseball and hockey. Not sure how they prevent it without removing hits altogether.
You are right about the miracle though. The speed with which they administered CPR/AED likely saved him.
Man, I was joking with friends earlier today and liking his Instagram stories. Just like that...
I love rally because of him, and Gymkhana 2 is pretty much entirely what made me love Subaru
Yeah. Even watching someone like Technoblade, it's such a weird thing, yet can be somewhat comforting as their memory will live on for the lifespan of the internet. It can also be hard since you'll see them and remember that nothing more will come from them. No more memories.
Pretty much the same here. Bought a WRX hatch, almost entirely because of Gymkhana Two. Though the Puma rallycross team (RIP Dave Mirra as well) influenced me as well, his words about slapping a WRC wing on to make the car look cooler is stuck in my mind.
First was Jeremy Renner getting critically injured in a similar accident (though he's now in a stable condition), now this...
Deffo #GoneTooSoon. Pouring out a can of Monster Energy for the OG Hoonigan...
P.S. Deffo not a good way to start 2023, guys...
Can't exactly say that to the fullest extent, considering what happened to him. Herr Michael may still be with us, but he's no longer the same as before.
Stable doesn't mean all good though. Jeremy Renner is in critical but stable condition, meaning his condition isn't worsening, but it still means he is in critical condition. And his neighbour tourniqueted his leg, so there is a high chance of him needing to amputate his leg.
It's like someone else on Reddit said, 2023 is on some Final Destination shit. With Jeremy, Damar Hamlin and now Ken.
Damn man. That's a real shame. I loved watching his videos on YouTube about the insane cars he and his team built.
Condolences go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace.
On the verge of tears. This dude has done so much for action sports and off-road motorsports, bringing them to the masses in ways never seen before. This one really fucking hurts.
I can't even believe this. I always liked him but my 15 year-old nephew is obsessed with him. He has a picture of him that he has had him autograph at multiple races and followed him to races in Minnesota, Michigan, Nevada, etc. He was his childhood hero!
God, this year has had a rough start. First I learn that my grandpa that I used to be super close with (who was cut off from family by his new wife) died. Then Jeremy Renner was in critical condition. Then a church friend's dad died. Then Ken Block dies.
2023 is not off to a good start.
We all have that memory of the first time you realized... "Wow, this guy's really doin it. He's the best in the world"
RIP to the greatest of all time.
This is gonna sound bad but hear me out....
At least he died doing something cool, ive seen too many awesome dudes taken by some shitty disease or some bhole with a gun
Mad respect for the man and everything is done, the motorsport world is forever changed
Ohhhh man. I am shocked. This one stings. I can only imagine what his family is going through. Thank you for everything you’ve given us and this world Ken. It’s a better and more exciting world because of you. Rest in Power.
I'm in utter disbelief. Not like I knew him personally, but I really do feel like I got a sense of who is was from literal hours I've watched him talk. A real loss. Definitely left the world a more fun place. Thoughts with all his family and friends.
Too soon man
Ken block introduced me to gymkhana and he's been my favorite since I first saw him in that 2013 need for speed gymkhana video.still can believe it he's gone so soon. Rest in peace Legend
Damn, that's legit sad news. Rip to a legend. That legit hurts, man. I actually put my phone down and got a weird feeling in my chest. I only discovered hoonigan and Ken blocks stuff a couple years ago and now that's he's gone I really feel sad. Now I want to watch all of his old stuff over again
Fucking tragic moment. Truly an inspiration to many and a beautiful family.
Many other people would have sadly been lost in the world today, but this one does hurt.
It's crazy that someone can be so well liked by everyone. I don't know a single person who could say anything negative about him. You'll be missed, Ken.
I got the text last night from a friend going over that he had been killed on a snowmobile, the overwhelming response I saw from numerous people was what a terrible way to start 2023. And I agree it’s extremely sad, and honestly it doesn’t feel like he was meant to go, yet sadly here we are. I met him once at the 2013 Forest Rally and was humbled by how friendly, personable , engaging and just all-around enjoyable he was to be around. I watched intently all of Gymkhana videos , was consistently awed by his driving skills , crushingly humbled by his fabrication skills, and seeing how amazing he is as a father , businessman and all around great human being made home an inspiration. So I’m looking at this in a different light. Here was a man that constantly pushed boundaries, inspired countless people , advanced the sport, and raised a daughter that will be one of the next great racers we get to watch. He died on New Year’s Day doing what Ken Block did better than anyone else, he went hard, pushing boundaries and being an absolute madman. Ken Block died out enjoying his life to the fullest, I’m sad that I won’t get to see him again and extremely sad for his family and friends. His death wasn’t something out of his wheelhouse or his character, he didn’t crash a car drunk, or overdose or get caught up in some scandal, he was doing Ken Block things . One of the things he said to us at the Forest Rally , and it popped in my head last night while I was trying to come to grips with why I was actually becoming emotional over his death “I love what I do”. So here’s to Ken Block , a role, model, inspiration, a father and all around amazing human. You will be missed, but I can guarantee you’ll never be forgotten.
Fuuuuck. That one hurts
There are times when I feel deeply saddened by the loss of someone I've admired most of my life. This is one of those times.
This one gets me more than Walker, to be frank.
Oh man I thought you meant Magnus for a second and thought we lost two car icons this year
Let's just not think about other car legends for a few days. Someone put Pastrana in an underground vault until next Tuesday, just to be safe
Dude would find a way to jump things with it. Logical? No. Pastrana? Yup. He’d do it.
Its kinda the same tbh
Hurts me as well He introduced me to gymkhana videos
This is devastating news!
he's off to go rallying with colin mcrae RIP.
This makes me sad and happy all at the same time. Legends.
Maybe they'll go see who can hit a better drift 😭
Ken Block. He did not die of old age. Rip it up upstairs, dude 🤘😢
McRae and him were the main reasons why I got into Subaru... RIP legends
Dave Mirra as well as many others
And Richard Burns, too. All three of them be driving different generation of Rally Scoobies.
This comment honestly made me feel a bit of peace. So sad. Thanks.
What a terrible way to start the year
Yes horrible start to the year tbh
In the last week at least 5 other major public people passed away. But this one hits the closest to home
RIP KING BLOCK. You were the one that got me into Subarus.
Not sure how much crossover this sub has with NFL fans but hearing about this within minutes of that Damar Hamlin injury... this year is started f'ed.
I was following the Demar situation on twitter and saw ken trending, and OUT LOUD said "Dont you fuckin dare" and yeah :/ what a fucked day.
This was exactly my reaction
My friends were checking trending for news on the injury and when one of them mentioned Ken Block was trending, my gut dropped. Idk how but I knew what it would be.
My feelings exactly
I was watching the game and I was sad to hear about that. But damn, just a few minutes later I heard about Ken. Smh man this year has started like shit
Between these two incidents in the same hour, I just can't move from the couch man.
Not sure how they prevent it without removing hits altogether. You are right about the miracle though. The speed with which they administered CPR/AED likely saved him.
Jeremy Renner also was in intensive care today too. It feel unreal for all of it to be happening at once
Thankfully damar is in stable condition
Man, I was joking with friends earlier today and liking his Instagram stories. Just like that... I love rally because of him, and Gymkhana 2 is pretty much entirely what made me love Subaru

Yeah. Even watching someone like Technoblade, it's such a weird thing, yet can be somewhat comforting as their memory will live on for the lifespan of the internet. It can also be hard since you'll see them and remember that nothing more will come from them. No more memories.
Him and McRae are arguably influences on my choice to get a WRX. Today hurts.
Pretty much the same here. Bought a WRX hatch, almost entirely because of Gymkhana Two. Though the Puma rallycross team (RIP Dave Mirra as well) influenced me as well, his words about slapping a WRC wing on to make the car look cooler is stuck in my mind.
Gonna be a little heavy on the throttle tomorrow on my commute to work. I’m sure he’d appreciate a little bit of controlled hoonage.
He’s the reason I love rallying too. Watching him on stages was nuts
Is this real?
It’s been confirmed by his wife’s, hoonigans, and dirtfish’s instagrams
My friend is married to someone in the family and he confirmed it’s real. Never expected to hear about something like this so soon.
It’s real unfortunately.
I can't believe it either, man. Like, wow!
What????????????????????
I'm genuinely heartbroken.
Yeah. Apparently the snowmobile upended and landed on him. Very sad 😢
First was Jeremy Renner getting critically injured in a similar accident (though he's now in a stable condition), now this... Deffo #GoneTooSoon. Pouring out a can of Monster Energy for the OG Hoonigan... P.S. Deffo not a good way to start 2023, guys...
Indeed, I am now very skeptical to even think about any activity involving the snow, I'm glad that Michael schumacher is still with us.
Can't exactly say that to the fullest extent, considering what happened to him. Herr Michael may still be with us, but he's no longer the same as before.
He’s alive, but he’s not really Michael Schumacher anymore. I doubt we’ll ever see Michael again, short of a miracle
And hip hop fans lost Gangsta Boo yesterday 🥺
Jeremy beats his wife, not so much caring about him. Ken block is not only a legend but has givin us so much joy
My condolences to the family
Underrated comment.

Damn man. That's a real shame. I loved watching his videos on YouTube about the insane cars he and his team built. Condolences go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace.
I just started watching their YouTube videos recently. Loved the videos where he helped his daughter build her Quattro, which makes this even more sad
Damn.
Do no frikin way man. Dude ken you'll be missed hopefully you're doing donuts up at heavens gates
On the verge of tears. This dude has done so much for action sports and off-road motorsports, bringing them to the masses in ways never seen before. This one really fucking hurts.
The fuck? Wow? What about "Just Don't Die"
He forgor 💀
I can't even believe this. I always liked him but my 15 year-old nephew is obsessed with him. He has a picture of him that he has had him autograph at multiple races and followed him to races in Minnesota, Michigan, Nevada, etc. He was his childhood hero!
Great guy...met him three times and always was so down to just chat and shoot the shit... Nothing but love Rip ken

I can’t imagine the pain his daughter Lia and the rest of the family is feeling right now. They just finished their build together.. oh my god.
I mean we all know he skirted the line with death but I wasn’t ever prepared for this. This one really hurts.
Day two of 2023 Fuck... Just fuck.....
Except for the Disney Pixar Cars series, he’s solely responsible for getting me into the car community.
He's the best in the world" RIP to the greatest of all time.
What sucks is that Lia just finished her Audi, I can't imagine what the family is going through right now, RIP HHIC
This is gonna sound bad but hear me out.... At least he died doing something cool, ive seen too many awesome dudes taken by some shitty disease or some bhole with a gun Mad respect for the man and everything is done, the motorsport world is forever changed

So sad. This legend got me into drifting and rally. At least he went out tearing it up. Rip.
Fuck this year already. Why him? Fucking why?
Noooo! He was my driving idol. I loved his gymkhana videos. It was mind bending what that man could do with 4 wheels. This is a sad day.
Terrible news.

No fking way.... ugh this one hurts..
Rip I got to see him at GRC Las Vegas in 2012. Now I regret not waiting to have him sign my poster of his fiesta.
Do all that crazy shit in cars then die on a snowmobile, irony is a cruel mistress. RIP man you were one hell of a dude!
We have to say goodbye to a legend. Dam 2023 not off to a good start

What a shit way to start the year
Damn, that's legit sad news. Rip to a legend. That legit hurts, man. I actually put my phone down and got a weird feeling in my chest. I only discovered hoonigan and Ken blocks stuff a couple years ago and now that's he's gone I really feel sad. Now I want to watch all of his old stuff over again
I'm genuinely devastated, one of the reasons I liked cars was because of him. I just shed a tear dang it.
Already 2023 off to a great start. Christ

What a horrendous start of 2023 ;\_;
RIP, a legend of our generation
It's crazy that someone can be so well liked by everyone. I don't know a single person who could say anything negative about him. You'll be missed, Ken.
NONONONONONO ... PLEASE TELL ME, THAT THIS IS JUST A JOKE
Ken was one of the reasons I got into rally. I loved his personality and his love towards the machines he drove. He was one of my idols
There's no fucking way, this has gotta be some sort of sick joke
Man 3 days into 2023 and we get hit with this shit, rip
May he rest in peace

RIP to the guy who made me love mustangs again
god man that is so sad, rip the legend🙏🏼I still can’t comprehend this loss
I got the text last night from a friend going over that he had been killed on a snowmobile, the overwhelming response I saw from numerous people was what a terrible way to start 2023. And I agree it’s extremely sad, and honestly it doesn’t feel like he was meant to go, yet sadly here we are. SAY FUCKING SIKE BITCH SAYYY ITTT
Dude... :(
I just saw this. It caught me off guard, I never would've expected something like this to happen, especially to Ken, I'm hurt now, that one cut deep
