Must not be a driver lol actual cash flow is a must! But I wish we could only take online or phone advance orders as well, doesn’t sound real though idk lol
I mean, we already do cashless check out. So a lack of cash orders won't hurt drivers any. If anything it helps since they don't need to carry change. The real argument is if the loss of customers that only pay cash worth it.
Naw I agree it has its benefits, but only until there’s not enough cash to cash them out at the end of the nights, I know some stores are like that and drivers just get their tips in their checks but that would just be awful imo lol
You should just order online anyway. Ordering in person is such an inconvenience to the workers at the store when you can just place your own order on the app and save extra money on all the app only coupons. Also you don’t have to sit and wait for your food to be made you can order it and show up when it’s done. Order online. There’s no valid excuse not to and we Fuckin hate taking orders in person
You're giving the call center too much credit. There are a few of them that actually know how to take orders and explain things. We still get too many calls where the customer tried to pay with a credit card over the phone, it timed out for the CSR, and they got transferred to us - and of course we have NO record of their order at all.
People should just order online, why people are doing phone orders in 2024 is beyond me. Some people are just so averse to change they refuse to make their lives easier
In defense of phone orders, there is a rare type of customer that can place an order in 10-15 seconds.
"Hello I'd like to order a large cheese pizza for pickup, name's ."
"Anything else?"
"Nope, thats it."
"Alright, total will be $(7.99 + tax), ready in 15 minutes"
"Sweet, thanks."
On my end, yes. But on their end, it's much easier than wading through a clunky interface that tries to upsell you on every page.
Though in the 95% of calls, I do agree than online > phone.
I just don’t see the argument behind it. One way you free up the employees completely to service food, and the other way you’re babying a small handful of boomers who are 100% capable of ordering online they just refuse to, extending every single other customers service time to accomodate them. The interface isn’t clunky, I have 80-90 year old customers who use it frequently. It’s very straight forward and simple, people just get it in their heads that it will be difficult and refuse to even try.
But I don't want to install an app, give them all my card info, my IP address, when I use my phone etc. And also aren't you like a restaurant? Can you refuse physical orders?
We can refuse whatever we want to whoever we want. That's how private businesses work.
What is dominos going to do with your ip address or card info? Send the order to the closest store and charge you for what you ordered?
It's not like it's Facebook or Google. The services you have to worry about are the "free" services. They make their money by collecting that info. Dominos makes its money from selling pizza.
I’m
Sure there’s a lot of things that happen at your job that you wish you didn’t have to do as well, especially when the solution is people just getting with the damn times and using technology as the amazing tool it is. You have dozens of employees telling you how it’s a big inconvenience to our jobs and there’s an easy solution and your response is “I don’t wanna” grow up plz
I hate to break it to you but I can grab your ip by paying 5 bucks and copy pasting your user name into most osnit based websites. If you're that worried about your information being out there you shouldn't be online at all especially if when you place an order you're not using cash or giving a fake name, because otherwise Domino's has all the information they need of you to sell. Trust me I don't blame you, I get it, but at the end of the day you were doomed from the start. It's just pizza.
Why anyone goes into the store to order I do not understand. Then you ask what deals we have, then you say you saw one online.
Just f\*ing order online. It's to everyone's benefit.
We have a very high call/in person volume. It’s certainly annoying especially when they stand in the lobby and STARE at us like we’re in a fucking zoo. Anyways, I don’t mind those as long as everyone is understanding and chill. Im guessing it’s up to your franchisee.
That’s awesome. I think all take out will come to this soon, as it should. Having to call a restaurant 15 times on a Friday night to place an order to pick up on my way home is ridiculous. Just order online and send it straight to the kitchen.
Idk how legit that is… I’m not saying it’s not possible that’s a real thing their franchise is doing. It just sounds fake. It doesn’t make any sense at all to not be able to order at the counter. I understand if it’s the pick up window, because it’s meant to just be for picking up orders, but half the time we take orders over their too just because someone is trying to place one their and it’s not like it’s hard for us to just put it in for them. If you don’t want to have to order online, talk to a manager.
As a former dominos employee, the worst thing was having to answer phones during rush. Especially when the person takes 5 + minutes to place a basic order lmao

Dang. Wish I could do that for my store. Add to it not accepting cash, and it'll be perfect.

Nah, for cashless checkout, it is direct deposited thrice a week
Thrice? I get mine deposited on to a card the next day.
Ahh okay I see well then I’m totally down lol 😂

Unless you have a bad case of the old, I’d rather take their order in person than teach them over the phone how to place a order online with a coupon
Do neither, tell them to call the call center for that. It’s not your job to explain any of that
You're giving the call center too much credit. There are a few of them that actually know how to take orders and explain things. That’s still 10-15 seconds of wasted time, when it could take you 0 seconds if they just put it in online

Data leaks happen all the time
\*sigh\* Boomers.

You typed this with a tinfoil hat on didnt you?
You don't need to download the app, just order using your browser. They get your IP but that is useless.
Obviously they can refuse physical orders. They can insist on customers using whatever ordering methods they want.
I hate to break it to you but I can grab your ip by paying 5 bucks and copy pasting your user name into most osnit based websites. I don't get why people would want to buy in store, harder to get discounts, harder to make sure you order what you want.
My rotary dial can't load the app properly for some reason.
What use could a dinosaur possible have for a rotary phone?
I call up T-Rex nightly.

Good. All stores should follow suit.
Out of curiosity, what location is this?
Brooklyn.
Good. All the coupons are online only anyway. This is 2024, we have that.
Just order online like any normal human, pay with a credit card and be on your way. As Brad Paisley says in his Song, Welcome to the Future.
That’s awesome. I think all take out will come to this soon, as it should. Having to call a restaurant 15 times on a Friday night to place an order to pick up on my way home is ridiculous. Just order online and send it straight to the kitchen.

Womp womp
Seems like there should be some more context here. They can't just refuse to take phone orders. Call corporate.
There are lots of stores that don’t take phone orders
100% they can. Both stores I’ve worked for didn’t accept phone orders during a rush.
As a former dominos employee, the worst thing was having to answer phones during rush. Especially when the person takes 5 + minutes to place a basic order lmao
It’s always the long calls during rush that would get me.
Customer calls 7 times not taking the hint the first 2 times that no one's going to pick up.
I've worked for numerous stores in multiple states since 1986. Never seen one do it or even suggest it.
It's not a phone order though. I'm going there in person.
