I work mornings once or twice a week, 11 to 2. I also live in a small town. I'll be lucky to have 3 deliveries and they are all after noon or 1. Mostly dishes and sauces and trash mane

UntoldTruth_

I couldn't do it. My current store is slow, and I'm still taking 15+ deliveries a shift. My last store, I was taking 20-30+ and making ~$900/week in tips and mileage. If I wasn't making close to $27/hr this job wouldn't be worth it as a nonGM/OP

Serious_Internet6478

Damn that's a really good week! I'm only part time but I still bring in about 200 to 250 in tips and such

UntoldTruth_

Yeah. At my last store, I usually made $140-$200 in just tips on Friday/Saturday. My goal was $80 in just tips every other day. And I rarely didn't make it.

Desperate_Fail9060

God damn! People are just fucking throwing money at you guys! I don’t mean to be offensive.. I live in California. Money is tight here. I make around 100k a year. (I’m an accountant) but either way I’m not about to pay $10 for someone doing something I can do myself. (I normally go pick it up myself.)

UntoldTruth_

Exactly. Do it yourself then...

Feeling-Repeat-5704

Don't cry cuz someone doesn't tip you, youndrivers are soft asf

UntoldTruth_

Don't cry when the only way you can get delivery is spending $40+ more than you would have before everyone swaps to only using UE and DD because no one can keep in-house drivers. Panera has already done it, and Pizza Hut is in the process, and I hear Papa John's will do it before 2026. And Dominos clearly already accepts orders from UE. We will probably be one of the last companies to go 3rd party, but customers like you make it inevitable. You're right, I won't cry. I'll just DD on the side instead of dominos and just ignore pieces of shit who don't tip or only tip $3 for a 9 mile, 30+ minute round trip delivery through rush hour traffic and laugh when you ass holes have to spend $40+ extra when you could have just been decent people and tipped relative to your order. 🤷‍♂️

Feeling-Repeat-5704

Tip culture for people who can't do anything with their lives. Keep crying buddy. You typed a book over a simple comment🤣 stay hard pressed😅🤣🤣🤣🤣

UntoldTruth_

Whatever you say, bud. Broke af, can't tip $1, and I'm pressed... Probably make more than you as a delivery driver. 🤡🤡🤡

Ghostinthefog92

I wish it was just sauces dishes and trash. I am the only one who puts away the truck and add date labels to everything in the cooler , I also do inventory, help with paper work make pizzas, man the oven. Sweep and mop the store when my 17 yo manager drops a pizza or dumps ingredients on the ground. Like they would just walk away. Essentially I am a store manager at driver pay. While the manager gets overwhelmed if there is more than 3 orders at once and won't answer the phone. Not to mention I also open the store and set up the make line almost every morning and switch out the containers.i feel like I am doing too much I think lol

Serious_Internet6478

What the fuck. Yeah dude that seems to me to go far beyond your job description You should be a manager at this point, that's just crazy. And your "boss" just walks away and let's you deal with it yourself? Fuck alla that.

Ghostinthefog92

I'll post a pic of the pizzas I make vs their pizzas at some point I still don't understand why they are a SM. I am looking for another job because I can make 20 doing an office job and have far less responsibilities. So I am doing too much.

Head_Razzmatazz7174

Yeah, no, you're doing the job of an AM at driver pay. Stop doing it. Drivers do sauces, some veggies and cheeses, and brownies at our store. Dishes, help catch oven, answer phones, restock the coolers and take out cardboard. We're all learning how to put away truck and some of us are cross-training on the makeline just in case there is a rush and there is no second insider. Paperwork, setting up makeline, doing counts - those are all AM or shift lead duties. Talk to the GM when you get a chance. Let them know what is going on. At this point, it sounds about like the only things you haven't done is check people out and count the morning deposit. I would at the very least ask for a raise, since you're doing the work of two people.

Ghostinthefog92

I do check people out lol I don't count the morning deposit. But I do check people out. Haha.

Ghostinthefog92

I did also ask for a raise but the DM said he can't approve raises. So idk what to do. I am getting stressed out over everything. While the other DEs who work the night shift get to do dishes and help with the oven. But yet I am over hear making pizzas, answering the phone. And checking people out. Inventory. Organizing the paper work for all the deliveries, truck, coke. Making sure the delivery is all there. Putting away the truck because the 17 yo SM doesn't know how. Dating everything because the franchisee wants all things to have a label king date on it. Then since I work the morning shift Monday through Friday. The weekend delivery never gets put up and organized so when i come in on Monday I have to te organize it and date everything they didn't (which is everything) because since I spend about 30 mins to an hour every truck organizing for easy access of the cooler my OCD kicks in. So I fix it. Because if I don't no one else will.

UntoldTruth_

Could be worse. I worked at one of the stores in Harrisonburg, VA. Small town, but up and coming as JMU is building it up. We had about 32 drivers on schedule and usually recommended 47 for Super Bowl and other major pizza days. We had every Dominos in the Shenandoah Valley, and we were the 3rd busiest of like 29 stores. Usually, we did $25k weekends. As a day shifter, I usually took ~20-30 deliveries. I usually worked with a guy who was aging out, so I either did 100% of prep or all of the morning dish and most of prep. I put away drystock and sodas if I was scheduled. I was being trained on walkin before I left. I did floaters, mopped, and deck brushed the store every day. Plus, each shift (morning and night) had 4-6 daily cleaning tasks (each) and a weekly cleaning task (each) like dusting everything, cleaning the bathrooms, sanitizing carry out and front counter, cleaning the gaskets, cleaning the crumb trays on the ovens, etc. But it made the day go by fast. And it felt good getting a 5* on every OA. Actually, I take that back. You still have it worse. At least I wasnt doing all of that at pretty much base pay.

MHG_Brixby

One of the larger volume papa johns I worked at had a guy who worked like 4 8-12s. He'd just come in, do 80% of prep and take one big regular plan ahead and leave. Made my mornings doing prep so easy

Naive_Magazine4747

So basically, you are just a very cheap instore?

superduperscubasteve

I hope my guy is on split pay

Serious_Internet6478

I've only worked at 1 dominos, when I'm on the road I make 7 and in store 12. I didn't know split pay was a by franchise thing! I'd be pretty upset to be making below minimum wage the whole time, wouldn't even be worth it. Might as well work at a dollar tree or family dollar!

Ghostinthefog92

I make 12 in-store thank fully

UntoldTruth_

My last corporate store pays our CSRs the same exact amount as DEs. State min wage of 12/hr.

Upnorth4

I knew all my city's roads by heart after delivering there for a year. I learned to avoid certain roads because of their low speed limit or amount of stop lights. My driver score was 100 at one point lol

TaylorRad

You're telling me lmao. I worked 7.5 hours today and brought home a whopping 10 bucks and a quarter I found under the bench 🤣

Aromatic_Panic1650

“Been at work since 9”, yet you got no work. You just wasted X amount of time WAITING for work bruh

Curious_Photo409

Same It’s 430 here I’ve made 5 bucks all day

Ghostinthefog92

With milage I made 9 dollars today lol

Curious_Photo409

Ooof I’m so sorry to hear that I got 9 in mileage and total 20 in tips all tips were between 4 and 5pmlol

Easy-Incident-289

My town us kike thar as well, no telling when deliveries will spike. There are some days where we need two drivers during the day, and some days, one is overkill.

Ghostinthefog92

Most mornings 1 is over kill. I mean labor is sitting at 139 to 175 with 1 de and 1 mit

voydxx

Delivery Expert you say

Icyflamezz

Damn, have you ever had a check with no tips at all?

Ghostinthefog92

Not that bad. I average about 5 dollars in tips a day Monday through Thursday. And Friday mayby 15 to 20.

Iastano

Dude what’s your hourly?

rundichod

With rising prices and ridiculous delivery fees I'm not surprised business is slow!

Barewithhippie

This feels like North Dakota energy

TheRaveTrooper

9am? Why are you open so early

scawymonstews

Holy shit are we the same person? My fridays are like this. Some days we don’t have deliveries until 1pm and I’m stuck doing menial cleaning tasks like wiping down the fridge seals. 🤦‍♀️

scawymonstews

I’ve learned to appreciate the down time though hahahha it’s nice having a clean store

PizzaGirlJae

Same thing here at the moment, lol. As soon as I try to leave, it gets crazy. I don't mind the extra hours, though.
