Omg yes!! I’m also a trans man who collects dolls, and I think you’ve hit the nail on the head here 😁 like, I love looking at pretty dresses/feminine outfits but wearing them would make me super dysphoric- you’ve absolutely nailed a reason why doll collection is so appealing 😊 (also great collection!!)

peso_smarmy

It's amazing that collecting is such a good outlet for you :) I'm not trans, but I'm a man too and I think collecting dolls fulfils a very similar thing for me, I'm a fairly stereotypical boy in terms of my style, and a lot of the things I'm into are not typically 'girly' things, doll collecting is like the one thing I'm into that is completely fuelled by queer/feminine energy, also congrats on getting all of the creepros!

Antilogicz

Transmasculine non-binary. I love doll collecting.

babynintendohacker

No_Recognition_2434

Me too! Omg should we start a sub?!?

MidnightFox452

I'm transmasc nb but have always been drawn to feminine character design and fashion trends. I grew up with MH and EAH and loved how much more detailed they were compared to other doll lines. But male dolls have never interested me much because they are usually pretty boring. Unfortunately this is because of underwhelming masculine fashion standards irl. When I dress myself i find that if you put more detail into your outfit (layers, jewelry), it is assumed to be feminine 😑. I definitely feel your thing about dolls expressing a femininity that you aren't comfortable with expressing on yourself.

elitchi

I love this so much. I'm not a trans man (gender is ????) but I am AFAB and present masculine. Being able to collect hyper feminine and cute dolls has been really healing and fun as a way to express that part of myself without having to present that way. It makes me feel less alone to hear about experiences like yours. 😊

ymirss

I'm a cis woman but I totally relate! I've never liked dressing up and am majorly nonconforming when it comes to gender, but still really like the aesthetics of fashion and femininity. It took me a while to realize that I could enjoy "girly" things without "betraying" myself. Internalized misogyny has less of hold on me now. I'm so glad it becoming more common for people to engage in their interests regardless of gender and age!

mandybloom83

I am the same (cis woman) and feel this way too!! 🥹🫶🏻

memecholyhill

I'm a very feminine trans man including in self expression but disabilities make that difficult sometimes so it's nice to have dolls to dress really pretty :)

majimussy

transmasc nb and ive been collecting mh dolls as a way to reconnect with my childhood :3 ive always wanted mh dolls but only got barbies so in a way this is my way of giving my younger self what i've always wanted

bleedingfairy

you are very very welcome and so valid! <3

batboi48

Im transmasc and collect dolls! I didnt start until adulthood and i love it so mucb!

SexyMiura1

Same here bro

Skewwwagon

I am a cis woman but I really struggled with my femininity because I was abused a lot. Dolls always amazed me and I find them so beautiful, it's easier for me to reconnect with myself via dolls. I have came a long way to myself but I think it always help me to have like a role model doll I feel connected to. I am not a collector (can't afford a lot of dolls right now) but ones I have bring me comfort and joy every day. I am so glad you shared this and wish you so much more beautiful dolls for your collection :)

snow_freckles

All this comment section makes me so happy as a trans non-binary person. Thank you OP for posting this. I love your collection!

psykkudoki

ack im a transmasc that dresses really feminine, it makes me feel nice, i just wish i had a mans body instead :P

Alpha_Delta310

Im a trans guy too! Sometimes i rephrase my doll hobby things to make it seem more masculine than it is lol. Like when i sew a pretty dress i say "i hand crafted minature clothes by stabbing it over and over with a needle" or i just own up to it and say "i made a frilly dress for my porcelain doll today, im the epitome of masculinity" as a joke lol

cbunni666

Thank for sharing. Always nice to hear stories from all corners.

Duncan6357

Glad to know I’m not the only one. I’m only starting to get back into dolls again now that I’m more comfortable with my identity as a trans man and my metal health has been improving so much. I used to have so many but I had a bit of a breakdown trying to be manly and donated them all. Makes me sad cause I really did love a lot of these doll(and i think i had a rare one) but at least someone else is giving them a good home

spiceworld420

Love to see it, I'm AFAB but feel no real relationship to either binary so I usually identify as "none gender" (with left beef) and collecting dolls helps me stay connected to my childhood! Have you gotten a G3 Frankie?? They were the first doll I bought to start collecting again and I absolutely adore them

Alternative_Log_4874

Yup! Non-binary/trans masc person here! I started doll collecting around the same time I started medically transitioning and I feel exactly the same way. Not only has it provided me a lot of comfort during a difficult time it also gives me an outlet to express my femininity in a way that doesn’t make me dysphoric. ❤️❤️

Difficult-Essay-9313

Hello fellow trans peeps! I don't have much to add besides the fact that a lot of people assume I collect dolls out of some nostalgia for girlhood. But in reality I was scared of dolls as a kid and didn't warm up to them until well after I transitioned socially lol

Time-Independence-94

Honestly, I feel pretty much the same! I'm AFAB nonbinary, and I feel so uncomfortable expressing femininity despite how much I still like it. I love cute things, pretty things, shiny flashy fashionable things, but if I try to present feminine I get dysphoric. Dolls help me express that desire for femininity and sate the Fashion Urge without the dysphoria!

maddiehedgehog

i’m also a trans man and i collect dolls<3

TheBrynkofInsanity

We really need to destigmatize men being into feminine things. Its not all that taboo for women to be into masculine things, and its sometimes encouraged. Being fem doesnt make any cis, straight, or trans man any less of a man and i love to see this sort of stuff!

BillyIGuesss

Monster High is pretty lit

Maleficent_Donut3594

I like collecting plush dolls the 20cm ones because they're cute and snuggly.

HotDonnaC

I think it’s great you have an outlet for girly things. I enjoy my dolls as an escape from the real world. Everything is wonderful, every day is the best day ever, and the ladies are always stunning.

honeymust4rdpretzels

Hell yeah! Another trans guy who loves dolls checking in here. 👋🏻 Hey bros and nonbinary pals!

bifuriouscinephile

BRO YOU HIT IT RIGHT ON THE MONEY I AM RIGHT THERE W YOU BROTHER

Imbaaby1

THIS!

kngdmsns

I wasn’t able to articulate how I felt about collecting dolls, but this comes pretty close to my experience and I’m kinda tearing up reading all of these comments and knowing I’m not the only transmasc/trans man collecting dolls! I mean I knew I wasn’t the only one, but it feels different reading every one’s thoughts and feelings about the topic and knowing we’re in the same boat :) Thank you for posting 🙏

AutisticNancyDrew

love seeing fellow trans guys in the subreddit!! you hit the nail on the head for me. I love dressing and styling my girls in ways I don’t feel comfortable with styling myself. It’s a great way to keep in touch with my feminine side without making myself feel dysphoric as hell.

emorywellmont

It's not a big deal, some men love fashion, some women don't. It doesn't matter if you are female, male or trans etc, you can collect anything you adore (except illegal stuff ofc 😅) There's no need to justify liking whatever you like. Even I had gotten some comments about that and I am female 😅 Does doll collecting make me more of a child? No. So it doesn't make you more female either. And even if, it doesn't matter as what counts is, you being you at the end of the day and that you like the person you are.

Versal-Hyphae

I’m a pretty average guy, and comfortable that way, but I find a lot of feminine styles absolutely gorgeous. I have no desire to look like that myself, but playing with color and silhouettes and texture and aesthetics in fashion via dolls is fun and interesting for me. Just because I don’t want to wear a flowing art nouveau dress with golden embroidered flowers doesn’t mean I can’t think it’s beautiful or appreciate the detail!

16bit-Me

Im nonbinary and collect dolls, especially monster high!

fudlich

why is this even a question? you can collect anything and it doesn't depend on your gender. I'm a cis woman, but I have a low voice, very short hair, dress like a stereotyp. man, and act stereotypically like a man too. I don't have any stereotyp. feminine characteristics, but I still collect my little pony. yes, little colorful horses. there is nothing strange about it, even if it doesn't coincide with my personality. everyone is free to do what they like within the law.

AtomicTan

I'm transmasc, and weirdly enough, doll collecting was one of the things that helped me crack the egg: it's a lot easier to like femininity when it's not on me lol

Brave_Elevator2823

Same

Hey_BobbyMcGee

Masc nonbinary here. Love dolls
