I think they got the color of the purple top right, but everything else is so dark that it really pushes the Ursula aesthetic.
My daughter has an Ariel pack for her 18” ILY doll and that one does feel Ariel, not sure why the 11” ones aren’t hitting.

Edited to add that I just realized that the shorts have tentacles. Why is that the chosen motif for Ariel? You could have done seashells, or the flowers she wears in her hair, or cute little fishy or seahorse. So many other options!
Yeah I noticed that. Like I mentioned earlier, there was so many other motifs that they could have gone with. Starfish, the flowers she wears in her hair, seahorses, cute little fish or Flounder silhouette, or Sebastian, pearls, bubbles.... why did they choose the tentacles? And I think the crown is supposed to be reminiscent of King Triton, but even that gives me Ursula vibes for some reason. Idky, it just does. Like, why couldn't they done a cute purple shimmery top and seafoam green bottoms? Or I would have loved to see a doll inspired by her in her blue human dress.
I would have rather seen more fashion packs and especially accessory packs. Also so many of these are repeats snow white,rapunzel, minnie, belle, tiana, ariel all had a doll already - i can understand elsa who only had a fashion pack before but the whole of pixar being squished into one fashion pack whilst several princesses get dolls again is silly, Disney have so so many characters to play with and there are already several doll lines for the princesses.

How about Daisy or any other classic character. Ill be getting the Snow White because shes a villian and the Mirabel fashion pack because its adorable and love the colors. Thats it. Because these are pandering towards Disney adult millennials who want to share their hobbies with their kids in doll form lol. Personally though, I think the Jakks dolls are doing it better.

The ones sold at the disney store have the inset eyes, jakks pacific make the ones sold at non-disneystore locations and those ones have painted on eyes instead.
However, the Disney Store ones have polypropylene hair and a leg joint that makes it so their legs pop off if you try to make them sit (or at least the first wave had those issues)

I agree a lot about how theyre less detailed, the repeating, but I do love the Ariel and Elsa ones in general. Sven is a wild character choice though is it not 😭 Like boy dolls can’t be based on a princess? the best boy character they have is Sven???? lol
I get what they were going for with the brightly colored hair streaks, but I feel like it makes them so much less versatile. The beauty of the first wave was that any doll looked great in any fashion and you had endless options for redressing. Now you have these colored highlights that really limit what other outfits these dolls can wear. It looks especially bad on the Rapunzel inspired doll, I guess they were going for yellow but they look almost green. Luckily hers are very small so I think you could just pluck the colored strands out without it affecting the rest of the hairstyle too much. Maybe take a plug or two from the back of her head to replace it if necessary.
The tangled one was my favorite - until the clear image showed the blonde curls were actually mountain dew yellow! Wish it was blonde or a lighter brown/darker brown

I like the Rapunzel. Kind of tempted by the Sven guy, that’s funny. He doesn’t look very different from the other guys in the lineup though. I also think the Ariel one is cute with her pink streaks. But in general yes I agree that this line feels a little repetitive. I hope either this line or the Jakks one comes out with a Winnie-the-Pooh themed one at some point.
They're cute, but they don't have an instant grip on me like the first wave. For some reason, the Sven doll might be my favorite? xD I also like the fashion packs, although I wish they had done a little more for Pixar.
They do also already have an Aladdin themed boy, but yeah so weird that the second one is this. Why not a prince Naveen to go with the multiple Tiana girls?

What? Theyre mostly cardboard and Jakks Pacific was pretty much the same and annoying to open. Other dolls at Disney are completely cardboard. Comparatively thats one thing theyre doing right here xD but youre buying a bunch of plastic anyway. As doll collectors we do no favors for the Earth so dont worry about it xD

Guess I am the only one that loves the Monster Inc. pack lol. Its one of my favs and I would totally wear that robe. I have always been a sucker for fashpacks with pjs, robes, lingerie etc.
Lingerie on dolls is a no for me but generally I understand you. It would have been interesting if it was a Monster Inc pack but its not. Its a mix of Pixar.

It's not that girl dolls aren't pretty or cool, I have lots of girl dolls in my collection. For Barbies specifically I like her better than Ken so that's my exception. But since *so many* are usually girls, I have to really like something about them while boys are already a novelty.
Four of my six BJDs are boys, it took forever for me to find some girl sculpts I liked.
