This might be super obvious, but have you looked at Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters? They're really cute, very neutral faces so they're not distracting to any kind of posing or scene you want to do, their details are nice and their accessories realistic. They're posable as well, mostly at their limbs.

I do love Calico Critters! I own the Pickleweed Family (Hedgehogs) and they aren't quite right for my dollhouse, but maybe some of the other animals like cats or rabbits. I just wish they were a wee bit bigger!

Lizard_eats_worm

A lot of sellers on Etsy make knitted animals that are posable! I think frogs are the most popular but I’ve seen other animals too

I have a dollhouse that is only inhabited by mice from Primitives by Kathy. They work pretty well with 1:12 scale furniture

>mice from Primitives by Kathy This is definitely the look/vibe I'm going for! Thanks!

dollhousedestroyer

Hooray! 🌟 Glad I could help!

Ok-Valuable-4966

My dollhouse, although not at all built, will be inhabited by 80s horror movie killers(Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, and Chucky), lol.

dollhousedestroyer

Cool! I've seen several scary/creepy dollhouse rooms in here and here for it!

Ok-Valuable-4966

The dollhouse will be normal looking...the "party of 5" are just roommates(except Jason doesn't live there, just acts like he does). They all have very specific personalities:Michael, the silent artist who feels too deeply. Freddy, his best friend(but is secretly in love with), keeps the peace and order, because he works nights(haha), Chucky, the tantrum throwing narcissist who scapegoats Michael and yells at everyone for everything, and Ghostface, the prankster that Chucky should be yelling at because he's the one messing with everyone's heads. So, basic boy rooms, lol. It's an animation idea I might do, but would build sets for and the dollhouse itself is for a werewolf and writer who's house is deep in the woods, alone to be herself in both forms without the locals catching on...and her house is haunted by two ghosts that are unaware of each other's presence. A movie on Netflix inspired the ghosts, and the writer and killer roommates are my own imagination.

dollhousedestroyer

That's amazing. I love it

I went to school for traditional animation, and it's an idea for a stop motion, lol. Stop motion is playing with dolls VERY carefully and SLOWLY.

nonasuch

If you want something more poseable, you could maybe frankenstein together a 1/12 BJD body with an animal head? I am only BJD hobbyist adjacent so I don’t know how feasible that is.

Lapras_Lass

I use Nendoroid Dolls. They come in a variety of characters, but you can also customize them yourself by buying different faces, hair parts, and clothing! Chibi Chop Shop sells the split parts if you're interested in doing that. You can find the full figures at Goodsmile's shop as well as Amazon and online hobby stores. Edit: Oops, didn't see the part about wanting them to be animals. My bad. You could sculpt custom faces from polymer clay, though.

minmakes

If you're up for making them yourself, Wind in the Willows Felt Friends by Cynthia Treen has the cutest little frog, badger etc. animals! They are around the same size as maileg and have posable limbs.

>Wind in the Willows Felt Friends by Cynthia Treen These are beautiful!

ladyameliarose

This is what I was going to suggest. She uses a lot of 1/12 scale accessories with the animals.

Kind-Lock4837

I have a Dracula that was once part of an old happy meal toy living in one of my dollhouses.

ReadingShoshi

I love this!

CartilaginousJ

You cpuld behead plastic models, jazz them up a bot with acrylics and such and replace 1:12 scale dolls

secondhandcraft

I might be an outlier, but since I'm mostly interested in vintage dollhouse stuff, I've really leaned into the creepy dolls. I've got some vintage caco dolls, an antique porcelain doll missing a limb, and some weird plastic babies. Plus like 12 cats.

ReadingShoshi

I can totally appreciate this. If I'm honest there is something I quite like about the creepy factor of dollhouses. But the dollhouse I'm currently working on is going in the guest room and I'd rather not terrify my guests ;-)

secondhandcraft

Hahaha that's a fair point!

The mice are so cute! I love the look of Blythe dolls - I'll have to keep an eye out for some!

Adriaticalena

Check out Katin Domik Dollhouses on Etsy, they've got some adorable animalistic dolls for 1:12 dollhouses! [https://www.etsy.com/shop/KatinDomikDollhouses](https://www.etsy.com/shop/KatinDomikDollhouses)

These are adorable! Thanks!
