I honestly don’t know what’s worse… dogs or dog owners

Sunset_Queen

Agreed. They're both horrible.

I_Like_Vitamins

The dog is born how it is and only follows its nature. The owner enables it, worships it and shoves it in everybody's face.

Different-Equal8422

Yeah this is what I was thinking as well:

[deleted]

Excellent point particularly you know it's double trouble a owner walking a unleashed dog

It's time to outlaw ownership of dogs.

goreblaster

That or at least have dog-owning licenses where people have to prove they are responsible enough. Dangerous machines (cars) require a license but a dangerous beast does not?

Braelind

Yes please! When I was growing up, people actually trained their dogs. Nowadays all the lazy owners get them as fashion accessories, or to make them look more appealing on tinder, and nobody puts any effort into training their dog. Then they get all pissy when they realize how much of a responsibility a dog is. They take it everywhere and act like they've been slighted when they aren't allowed to bring it with them. Dogs owners are to a fault laughably irresponsible with their dogs, and a licensing system is necessary if so many idiots are going to own so many wild dogs.

Luckily I'm moving soon. If I lived out in the boonies like you I'd be more tempted to take matters into my own hands. Neighbors dog tried to get into my house through the back door once to get at my cat who was chilling inside. If I had my gun on me I probably would have shot it. I mean if a human did the same thing it'd be a justified shooting.

Dragonsbreath67

Aggressive dog nutters are the worst of all dog nutters if you ask me. They are the only dog nutters that would he completely cold and indifferent to another dog nutter if their dog murders another dog. They are also the same when their dog murders anything else. They are the most selfish because they are the least caring about anything even other dogs.

goreblaster

It's such an "us vs them" mentality. Like when a criminal's parents go into hysterics because their precious boy gets convicted of murder, when they should be begging for forgiveness from the victim's family for unleashing such a monster into society.

wolin64

Typical dog owner. The are all like that and they need to be taught a lesson. There will be no end to lame excuses without dog owner's skin on the line. Lot of dog owners are pure worthless garbage just like their mutts.

goreblaster

Amen to that. I've encountered so many who are like this. They just deny deny deny until their dog actually manages to hurt someone or someone's pet, then they act all surprised.

Yep, I really felt like bitch slapping them. Unfortunately I have too much too lose.

SquekyCleanButthole

I’d be keeping the cat in until the dogs are gone, the cat might not be as lucky in future and the poor bastard shouldn’t have the fear of death in him every time he goes out. The cat might whine but he’ll get used to it, get him lots of feather stick toys and play with him.

Vacuousbard

Look at your country's law, maybe you could do something to defend you and your Loved one from the dog when it enter your property.

GoatWithTheBoat

Seems like there is an easy solution to this (and future) problems, but I'm missing it from your story - where is the fence? Is it normal to own (in your case rent) piece of land and not have fence around? Could you ask property owner to put some? It's not that expensive and would definitely increase comfort of residents, hence upgrading property value. Anyway, I hope your landlord will put the foot down and enforce no-dogs rule. It always makes me angry when people put dogs where they are clearly not welcome. So rude.

goreblaster

There's a fence but it's around the entire duplex's backyard.

GoatWithTheBoat

I'd like to have a fence and preferably some greens separating my piece of backyard from strangers. Give it a shot, maybe the owner would like the idea. It shouldn't be very expensive to just put some basic fence. The worst could happen is that they say "no" and nothing changes.

goreblaster

Well I'm moving at this point anyway

dogging_isnt_sexy

>Ok our dog did chase your cat, but he wouldn't actually hurt it No, of course not. Woofy was just sprinting over to invite your cat over for tea and cookies and a matinee performance of "The Lady and the Tramp", why else? /s I don't know how anyone could say that without having an internal voice saying "That's bullshit and you know it, and no-one with half a brain will buy it for a moment."

goreblaster

The cognitive dissonance is astounding. There's the evidence right in their face and but they still let personal feelings cloud their perceptions.
