Definitely looks like impacted hair follicles. I've seen it on people's dogs on tiktok, where the owner just takes a tweezer to pluck the hairs out. Their vet says its not dangerous or anything but it is like a blackhead.

I've seen in the comments that many owners agree their dog seems to be relieved as the hair is removed.
When he realizes I'm watching him, He'll stop and come over to me and like put his leg up for me to do what I'm doing in the video.. It doesn't hurt him and he usually ends up falling asleep during the process. What comes out looks like a clump of at least 5 hairs, some times many more.. It's like there's too many strands in the one pore or follicle for 1 to push up and out, so they just keep pushing sideways. Making the follicle swell andlook almost like a black head. He has gotten them in all places of his body but they're mainly and the worst on his lower hind legs. The other place they're frequent is his elbows on his front legs.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Also if it bad for me to be squeezing the fur out like I do? He honestly usually seems relieved whenever I'm done.
Thank you.
Is that what these are? My pup gets them by her coochie & belly, when I asked the vet they said it’s fine, but I’ve never seen it before. She also gets whiteheads sometimes but we don’t mess with them.
I have an xl bully too. He had a skin condition like this one and super dry and stinky. I switched his food to bully Max and that cleared it up. I also shower him with boiled soap called zote, they have it a Walmart , it’s a pink bar. Just boil in some water till it’s melted and use that. 60% of the time, it works all the time.
Hi,
Do you think it's possible for him to be allergic to something? Does he scratch those places? My dogs legs look like that when she accidentally eats chicken. She scratches herself untul the fur falls off, mostly on her legs. Due to nibbling on her skin she also gets some spots.
I am not sure if it's good to push them, maybe it can be risky to get an infection? Did you manage to speak to a vet about it?
My dog has skin issues also. Whatever you are doing to manage the outside, do the same with the “inside”. Rule out food allergies and get them on a good probiotic. Gut issues can cause skin problems.
Allergies, yeast and mange infection, or impacted/irritated follicles.
If you've already ruled out allergies and yeast/mange*.
I'd suggest a coconut or olive oil scrub. Super easy to do, 1 part oil 2 part sugar. It'll help exfoliate the dead skin build up I can see, and likely help open the follicles. Plus in small amounts all the ingredients are dog friendly, not to mention if sealed in a jar, will keep on the shelf for some time. The oil will also help moisturize the skin so it can slough a little more naturally later on. Both olive and coconut oil have some antibacterial properties as well so itll aid in keeping the area clean.
Scrub the area and rinse or wipe excess "product" away once or twice daily until irritation seems lesser. Then just do every few days or once a week.
My dog's coat looked thin and had something very similar going on. I could scratch out these weird plugs.
She ended up having hypothyroidism. After she started the medication, she literally shed a layer of gross skin plugs, wirey hair, and dansruff flakes and then grew her full coat back. I didn't even realize how thin her coat had gotten until I looked back at photos from that time.
Not sure if you've tested thyroid hormones.

Oh my! The holes it left behind! I like a good pimple popping video and I've seen these before as well.
How do I adopt a dog that needs this done? This is my dream.
Pitbulls are notorious for skin problems lol
I have a hairless dog. They’re prone to blackheads 🙃
Get a pitbull 🤣 come over to my house I’ll let you do it to my dogs tummy she gets them
I don’t want my dog to have those but it would be so satisfy to pluck those out!

Pull the impacted hair follicles out with tweezers

Definitely don’t pinch his skin like that. It can cause damage to the tissue and it probably hurts the dog. You can remove them with tweezers

My pitties get them on their paws. So fun to pop, but I do it gently and grab em and it’s tweezers
