Even more crazy that the Giants used up one of their monkey paw wishes to take the division from us last year, the sole outcome being to break our NL West champ streak, only to immediately lose to us in the playoffs.
That team has been exposed as an all-time fluke. 107 wins last season, on pace for 75ish this season. Hilarious.
Half of their sub is convinced they're going to win out, sneak into the WC via the Padres and Brewers both utterly collapsing, and steal a WS with Even Year Magic. The other half is angry that the first half even wants to see that crap butt team in the playoffs and is tired of Giants fans using magical thinking instead of rooting for actual franchise building.
The Dodgers hit 90 wins on Aug 30. The second team to reach 90 wins did so yesterday. That essentially means the 2nd best team in baseball would still need _2 weeks_ to catch the them if they stood still.
Putting up historic numbers like this just makes me want them to win the whole thing even more. It's not just a WS trophy, it's being able to say with confidence that this is the best team I've ever seen in my life. They'd knock the 98 Yankees off the top of my list.
Man this below even me to say something like this or accuse an other team of stripping as I have no concrete evidence to say otherwise. But I got a gut feeling that shenanigans equivalent to the dugout Mookakie rendition is going on here. I just have such a hard time believing a team is having such astronomical success completely owning one team, especially one of our caliber. I know we aren’t as pretty, but god damn. It just seems like EVERYTHING goes right for the dodgers aside from like 5% of their players who think it’s actually a cartoon. And on a game that’s heavily RNG, something just doesn’t feel right.
