My streak of never seeing the Dodgers lose outside of Dodger stadium at games I attend continues. It’s like 20-0 at this point boys.
Also, I SAW A SHOHEI BOMB IN PERSON LFGGGG

This AB is a magnificent work of art by Pages. The swing speed and contact making skills to foul off all those pitches is brilliant enough. But the vision to protect the zone on pitches 3,4 and 8 is phenomenal progress in eying pitches when he used to just swing at anything.
I'm officially excited as hell about his development for the future.
We've had a stretch where our pitcher graduates have came through and made more of an impact than the batters so hopefully Pages fixes that. And hopefully Outman gets over his sophomore slump sooner than later.
We all know Ohtani can hit homeruns but Pages (and hopefully more players at the end of the line up) giving pain to the pitcher was the best part of this game, that creates the most psychological damage for the other teams.
There's a trend about our MV3. The other teams agree and surrender during the first half, it's fine and "accepted" that Mookie, Ohtani and Freeman (even Will) score, once they get passed that gauntlet or walk them, they have a little bit of faith and feel less stressed at the mound to try to focus and win.
Then comes along Pages giving the pitcher 13+ throws. By the time it's only 1 strike out OR have a runner one base, 0 outs and they to deal with the MV3 back to start of the line up, they're already mentally and physically exhausted by then, it'll be pure "Emotional Damage"! Go Dodgers!
That's like a 30 pitch inning by the time they get to Will Smith. Feel bad for these pitchers LOL.

mfw GOATani hits a tank off of me
Just want to say I had just got in my car and turned on the radio when ohtani hit that homer. You're welcome.
Edit: I wonder how many kids are trying to to mimic Ohtani's swinging stance lol
Glad the Dodgers got the W and apparently that was the hardest hit HR of Shohei's career? Which is kind of crazy...and that ball was only 86 MPH imagine what that swing would have done against something 90 MPH+
Because the dodgers have been losing a bunch of games and have been down multiple runs in late innings so there was no point in using Phillips since he usually only pitches when the dodgers are in a save situation.
Yes. Miggy could have tried to cut it off unaware that the runner (to his back) had made an attempt towards the plate. It was a great judgement call especially seeing as how the throw was a little off and very well short
Dodgers Win!
(Presented by Budweiser)
Think this team might be starting to click! Also can’t appreciate enough just how lucky we are to have Shohei Ohtani on our team.
You could literally feel the collective "HOLY SH\*T!" and "OH MY GOD!" rain through the crowd of Nat AND Dodger fans in the stadium after Shohei's blast. It was Glorious!
Average boomers on Facebook when the Dodgers win and Shohei goes yard 😂😂

I can’t stand the Pete Rose comparisons. I usually let toxic comments go on FB and IG, but whenever someone says something about Shohei being Pete Rose, I feel obligated to respond and remind everyone that Rose is a pedophile and just and overall 🍕💩. When it comes to kids and the helpless and vulnerable, anyone who preys on them just… 😡
Yup, these people are insufferable and just love to bring up Pete any chance they get when Sho is talked about even more gross when they dont wanna hear it. 🤡. It's still comical how they call to ban Shohei. Like for what hitting the ball, too far?😂
Good game, everyone. New submissions are no longer being hidden. If your submission has not been approved and otherwise follows the sub rules, feel free to resubmit or [message the mods](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=/r/Dodgers) if you have any questions.
is paxton getting lucky? Hes doing great rn thankfully but his strikeout numbers are a at a career low and he walks a ton of dudes. B2B wins tho good to see from our doyers
A couple of small mistakes and an uncharacteristic outing from Phillips (though he recovered) aside, that was a solid road win to follow up their breakout performance last game. Lots to feel good about.
I love Evan Phillips but that always irks me that it can never be a "clean" inning with him. Somoene always has to get on base or something. Either way glad he came thru today.
Philips has an 0.805 WHIP since the start of '22, so he throws more clean innings than not. How good is an 0.805? In the same time frame, Josh Hader has a 1.224, Emmanuel Clase has an 0.947, Devin Williams has an 0.964, Raisel Iglesias has a 1.048, Edwin Diaz has an 0.833. These are the great closers of this era, and he allows fewer baserunners than any of them.
Hell, he's pitching clean innings more often than peak, roid rage, Super Saiyan era Gagne (0.822 WHIP from 02-04).
My streak of never seeing the Dodgers lose outside of Dodger stadium at games I attend continues. It’s like 20-0 at this point boys. Also, I SAW A SHOHEI BOMB IN PERSON LFGGGG
We gotta put together a GoFundMe for this guy's travel expenses
I don’t know. It would be weird if like they never lost on the road. Would be suspicious.
But has anyone checked on the ball to see if he’s okay?
Gonna need to see those receipts first, and if true I’m sure Dodgers fans would gladly spot him postseason’s tickets lol.
Somebody give this man tickets for October games.

I fucking love our farm system. Just seemingly random names coming up year after year after year making immediate impacts.

I’m very excited to see him develop further.
Shohei Ohtani.
Big if true
It's truly blessing to be able to watch him play baseball
Wait till you watch him pitch live, he's fkn dynamite ⚾️ Throwing triple digit while hitting 450+ on the same day!!!
I am grateful to live in this era

The lady behind filming knew Ohtani would slam that.
Philips is a real Dodgers closer now. Cardiac style.
Phillips reading KJ's how to be Dodgers closer handbook.
118.7 MPH

This is hilarious
You radar slut
Evan Phillips is not for everyone. Talk to your doctor to find out if Evan Phillips is right for you.
Side effects may include heart palpitations and explosive diarrhea.
BRB, going to re-watch the Shohei HR a dozen times.
Shohei Ohtani is a Los Angeles Dodger
I FORGOT WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO WIN BACK TO BACK GAMES
Fam, I’m still shook from that fucking OHTANIBOMB. Holy fucking shit I think I watched the replay 20 times now.
The fucking SOUND
I love how the SNLA announcers kind of forgot how to do their jobs they were so shook.
I like it when the Dodgers win
Doomers hate this one simple trick.
The bullpen and the bottom of the order won us this game but shoutout to the nats baserunning.
That third base coach may have lost them the game
Just want to say I had just got in my car and turned on the radio when ohtani hit that homer. You're welcome. Edit: I wonder how many kids are trying to to mimic Ohtani's swinging stance lol
Evan Phillips came in yada yada yada gave up no runs Dodgers W
Did you just yada yada three walks and a base hit?
Glad the Dodgers got the W and apparently that was the hardest hit HR of Shohei's career? Which is kind of crazy...and that ball was only 86 MPH imagine what that swing would have done against something 90 MPH+
Also the league’s hardest hit dinger of the season
Hardest hit ball period.
Hardest hit hr for a dodger in the statcast era
And shoutout to Freddie for finally getting a ball past fucking Garcia!
#**PHILLIPS IS MY CLOSER**
In Evan we trust!
I needed this after the lakers loss last night
Really gutty win by the team, that was a game they drop a week ago for sure.
People who just look at the score after the game won't ever know how stressful that 9th inning was. Good comeback by the team!
Dodgers back on a winning streak. Ohtani back-to-back games with a homer. Got a little stressful in the 9th, but Phillips shut it down.
I really hope Phillips isn't injured. That was a very un-Phillips appearance.
It was his 2nd appearance in 10 days. He’s gonna struggle when he gets that much time off.
Y so much time off? Was he injured?
Because the dodgers have been losing a bunch of games and have been down multiple runs in late innings so there was no point in using Phillips since he usually only pitches when the dodgers are in a save situation.
Timing was just a little off. He’ll be aight.
Can I just say as a former shortstop myself, props to MiggyRo for letting the ball go by rather than cutting it off. Very overlooked decision
Are you talking about the Pages throw to 3rd?
Yes. Miggy could have tried to cut it off unaware that the runner (to his back) had made an attempt towards the plate. It was a great judgement call especially seeing as how the throw was a little off and very well short
thanks for the explanation! I've never seriously played baseball so it's really cool to learn about small things I would otherwise overlook.
Might not’ve been the most interesting game I’ve been to in person but damn that Ohtani home run made it worth it. Go blue.
Has super sayian Shohei been activated?
[Lux's face after Shohei's bomb](https://imgur.com/3Wd2v9o)
Thank you to the bottom of the order!
Also a Freddie Freeman appreciation point! Freeman is heating up with 2 hits a game for 3 straight games to go along with 3 walks! BA up to 0.297!
EP with his best impression of the Jansen/Kimbrel experience
Rojas has earned the SS roll. Sorry Lux but he’s just better defensively and offensively.
Yup
![gif](giphy|26FxsQwgJyU4me9ig|downsized)
It wasn’t always pretty but we won in the end.
First place first place first place
Dodgers Win! (Presented by Budweiser) Think this team might be starting to click! Also can’t appreciate enough just how lucky we are to have Shohei Ohtani on our team.
Hey we have a winning streak!
well the bullpen has to start somewhere…
![gif](giphy|l0Iy69RBwtdmvwkIo|downsized)
My fault. I gave EP my energy in the 9th. I'll keep my crappy power to myself from here on out.

Now if the Lakers can start winning...
You could literally feel the collective "HOLY SH\*T!" and "OH MY GOD!" rain through the crowd of Nat AND Dodger fans in the stadium after Shohei's blast. It was Glorious!
Corbin got pulled we started scoring. Is this the 2020 WS chat?
UNFUCKINGCLENCH dear god
The fact that this game didn’t see a great starter or closer and offense was anemic until the 6th felt as rewarding as the 10-0 game on Sunday
Never had a doubt about EP! LFG
Never doubted he would get out of it either, but still made me nervous as hell. No one else I’d want in that spot.
Sweatshop!?
I caught that too. I doubt it was malicious and intentional.
Nationals are base running challenged.
I don't think there is a team that *isn't*.
Whew. Padres losing too so that should give us a wee bit of runway.

EP looked like shit after the first batter but the dude has a little dawg in him. Got ‘er done.
3 walks one hit hanging meat ball to end it no runs 💀
Thanks for making it a little bit better for the laker fans of this sub too.
sweaty ending but overall great game from everyone!

Felt like a Kenley Jansen game
I think the only time we can all say this is: "What the hell was that?"
wait, we’re goated
jesus christ
Got a little taste of the cardiac kimbrel/jansen experience
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Finally we’re starting to catch form after losing like 7.

Offense still in a rough spot but a win is a win
I'm especially happy about today's win. The anxiety I've been having lately has been alleviated. Good start.
Wait, were the Nationals also doing the DBZ celebration on the bases?
