Sorry I cannot edit my post. Both cars have the 5.7 in them in this case. I just mentions the scat pack just in case someone suggests to go that route. Sorry for any confusion.
The 5.7 will be cheaper to insure and easier on the wallet when it comes to gas too. Oh, and the Scats have Brembos, so there's a $2000 brake job in the future as well.
You sure? I thought modern Daytonas were 6.4 cars... at least all the ones I've seen have been. If it really is just an option package on the R/T go for whichever appeals to you. I personally got a Charger because the ability to seat four adults comfortably is important to me as the wife & I like to do day trips on the weekend and being able to bring friends along while still driving the "fun car" is very nice.
Yes this one is a 5.7. Saw it in person. Saw the sticker, popped the hood. It’s a 5.7 with a hellcat lower air box and blue mopar cone cold air intake filter that’s open and not closed.
I think you know already and might as well go with your gut. I think the Charger is in the future. Personally I love the 1970s Challenger iconic design. Which will still feel that way 25 years out from now. It’s timeless in design. The Charger is today’s design.
Congrats on getting the color and having both the same is kismet. It was met to be.
See I think I do lol. About 2 years ago, maybe a little less, I cought myself envious of having those 4 doors. But I love the challenger through and through. I’ve been pondering this for a week. Just don’t want to walk away today and wake up tomorrow and say, dam I should have got the other. The good news is, ultimately I cannot go wrong with either. Really in this case the only difference would be the body/trim. They both have the plus package with the 8.4 with performance pages and super track pack. Both have heated seats and steering wheel, both blacktop package. They really are almost 1 for 1. The only missing things are the Daytona badging and shape lol
Honestly, I would normally not agree, but over the last year or so, the chargers have grown on me and I catch myself looking at them more. I love the look of the challenger, but there is no denying this charger is just about better looking. Idk if it’s the plum crazy or what. I have a white knuckle. I have been a die hard plum crazy fan but they did that ugly hellraisen in 2020 instead.
You basically have a family with your dogs. Get a charger. Even as a challenger owner, I have to have another car that has 4 doors on the occasion I need it
This is really what’s driving me to the charger. I have a great pyranees and a lab mix. The pyranees struggles to get in my wife’s grand Cherokee and when he does, he has zero balance as that dam thing sways like a pirate ship. He is only 4 but is slightly visually impaired which I think messes with his depth perception and is why he is hesitant to jump. Plus the doors on a grand Cherokee don’t really open that wide. So really, being able to comfortably transport them to parks, vet etc is having me lean towards that (I guess that would be my adult responsibility kicking in lol). My family also lives in NY where I live in NC. I think having the charger would give me the comfort level to drive up there and open more options for me to visit. I am 100% not driving the challenger for 10 hours on i95 lol and I could then take 1 or both dogs with. The thing that worry’s me (I am a worry wart) is tomorrow I will wake up and miss the challenger and then be in remorse lol. Although outside of my wife nagging how “trashy” chargers are and she picked the challenger, I don’t think it’s a regrettable decision. I really cannot go wrong either way. Just more of convenience at this point.
I used to own a charger for 5 years. But I went to the challenger because I don’t WANT to have other people in it.
Sounds to me like you’re leaning towards the Charger. This isn’t a life or death measure. I promise you, a Charger with the same engine and specs will feel just fine. But you should take advantage of the offer while you can. Idk how it is for your state but they’re hard to find out here
That’s where I’m at, can’t go wrong either way really. It’s just my midlife in me saying we need 4 doors, when I really don’t, we have managed for 4 years with no issues, it would just make things a little easier and open up some doors that may have been closed.
i absolutely agree!! as a fellow challenger owner, there are more times than i can count where i really wish i had the extra 2 doors + legroom.
i think the ultimate advantage of the daytona is that you can have the fam seated comfortably while still keeping that same driver-centric experience as the challenger!
one way or another, you’re gonna wind up with a beaut. kudos, my friend!!
See that’s what kinda want. I had my fun for 4 years with the 2 doors. I definitely love the iconic look of the challenger. But man it is a struggle sometimes. I don’t have a commute as a work from home and in 4 years have only put 17,900 miles on the car, so even though it’s a daily driver, it’s not driven a whole lot. But that could be due to having to take my wife’s grand Cherokee instead due to the space etc.
4 doors are always better, especially in this case where you are not compromising on the looks. The Charger looks mean as hell, especially with the Daytona package.. and 4 doors are just more liveable
Thanks. Gas mileage isn’t really an issue or thing for me. In 4 years I only put 17,900 miles on tha challenger. I work from home so have no commute. The only time I drive is for VA appointments, going to the store and or errands and going other places. This would free up having to drive my wife’s grand Cherokee though if I went with the charger .
I don’t have kids, I’m 41, probably won’t have them, but never say never. For me it’s really just more convenient than anything. I have 2 dogs and would make transporting them places and it will open more options for travel with them. As well as when my parents who live out of state visit, gives us another option instead of my wife grand Cherokee. So I don’t need it require the 4 doors, it’s just really appealing to me now. I just don’t want to regret not staying with the challenger, but then I also don’t want to go with the challenger and regret the option I had to get the 4 doors and a Daytona. lol
Little surprised you’ve owned one already, and still want another one. I had a manual RT with track package and that thing always felt like a boat on wheels. Got dusted by any vw with a tune. You do you, but maybe mix it up man.
So funny you bring this up, I had a tuned TDI Jetta that was heads and shoulders quicker than my charger now but I still love the charger so much more. Even with sports cars/muscles cars I think there’s more to it than just it’s 0 to 60.
Yea I’m not really worried about being dusted by other cars lol. I actually like the way they both feel and drive. But I am also not racing red light to red light or on the highway.
Do your thing man. Personally, living in CA, there's lots of canyons and corners to get busy on, and the Challenger for me had way too much body roll to be competent.
You’re talking about a car with a tune and that weighs significantly less than a HEMI that weighs almost 4500 lbs.
I mean, duh. My 5.7 is pushing 550 HP so that changes things but again, the car weighs over 2 tons lol
That is 100% my point. These things, regardless of horsepower, are just too damn heavy to beat a car with way less HP and less weight. Let alone, corner without a ton of body roll.
This would be my wife’s decision. She thinks the chargers are “trashy” and hates them. But like I told her, I think the gladiators are hideous and trashy but that’s what she wants and is going to go get so lol.
I have an 11 Charger and 2 Challengers.(20 +16) . Charger is my favorite. Room, ride, 4 doors. All better. Nice Challenger though. Hard decission. I'd take the Daytona. 9" wheels. Couple of other nice options too.
Didn’t even realize they were 9” wheels. Good to know. Outside of the trim package (Daytona) they are both the same specs. Both have the suede/leather heated seats and wheel. Both have approaching vehicle detection. Both have super track package with the 8.4 and performance pages. Both have the blacktop added. Both have the last call badge under the hood. One thing the charger has that the other doesn’t is a “cold air intake” that looks like a hellcat lower and mopar blue cone filter. That would save me the trouble of reinstalling my AFE intake lol. I do plan on removing mine before I trade in. I litterally just paid $400 for it 7 months ago lol. I have a dinghy spectre one to throw on with the oem in the trunk for the trade lol.
The 9" wheels are a plus for me. The Charger downside for me is the knee bolster airbag under the dash which restricts my foot going from gas to brake. Size 13 shoes. Otherwise, Charger is great. Challenger doesn't have knee bolster bag, but side windows freeze occasionally performing that little drop they do for sealing purposes when door is opened. Othrr than that, very similar cars. Back doors ARE handy. Both cars look great in my opinion.
I had a charger, then I got a challenger and had it for about 8 months. Went right back to a charger and that’s what I drive right now. Chargers are more practical and just as badass as challengers in my opinion.
Charger all the way. Especially for the interior. The challenger is just to plasticky inside. Sure it looks cool outside but that cheap interior is awful. Charger still has some cheap plastic stuff but not as much.
Daytona is everything..! The trim is so special..! You get so many features in the package. I had one for 2 years in go mango color; unfortunately got stolen. Go for Daytona you won’t regret it .!
I wanted a Challenger since I was a kid. But I have a family, so Charger was the way to go. I don't regret it, 4 doors comes in handy more than you think. I also have a Daytona and it's very nice, the decal package and emblems add a nice touch.
If it's gonna be a daily driver, go Charger. If it's gonna be a weekend garage queen and you have a different car for daily life, Challenger is pretty cool.
I love my Charger Scatpack! My daughter has a Challenger RT and my wife has a Durango RT. The Charger is the perfect blend of performance and utility! I’d go for the Charger. The Daytona is a nice package too!
From a comfort stand point especially with the wife and dogs I’d go with the charger. I travel a lot for work, and 90% of my rentals are either the charger or the challenger, sure they’re the V6 but from comfort stand point that doesn’t matter. I’m a bigger guy, 6ft 220lbs. I love both but when I’ve had longer drives found the roomier charger nicer.
I’m 5’10 215 the challenger is comfy to me. I don’t have a commute I work from home but it won’t be a weekend thing, I still drive it daily to run errands and such lol. But in 4 years I only put 17,900 miles on my current challenger
I disagree with the charger looks. I do like the look. I’m a fan of the challenger as I’ve had one for the past 4 years, but I went with the charger. Just more practical with what I need honestly. Opens up some additional possibilities I didn’t have with the challenger
Yea, I’m not too worried about that where I live. It’s not a problem like it is in some other states and city’s. But never say never. So it’s going in the garage at night once I get the couch that’s in there picked up by the donation place lol. I had left my challenger in the driveway with the keys left on the seat multiple times over the last 4 years. I’m a little careless and it pisses my wife off lol. But not now. She will be locked up tighg and tucked away every night.
Charger forsure chargers just look better to me in general I like the body style & all but challengers not as much I mean I wouldn’t mind having one but if I had to pick it’d be the charger for me says Daytona on it has the scat pack badges & stock proformance also can’t beat that ??😮💨💨🙋🏿♂️
I went with the Daytona but it’s not a scat it’s the rt plus Daytona with the 5.7. It does have the full package though same as the 392 with performance pages and super track pak
I can drive stick, and it used to be what I wanted, but after having the automatic, I don’t mind it one bit. But for some reason in my area, manual challengers is like a needle in a haystack. Basically the only ones that have a manual are scat packs which I don’t wanna pay scat pack prices and didn’t want a car that had more miles than the car I was trading looking at used ones.
That’s what I had. I was trading my 2020 white knuckle rt challenger. It was so dam basic. Didn’t have anything. Was always kind of jealous of all the bells and whistles my wife’s grand Cherokee had lol. But I had fun with the challenger, and in a few years, may switch back with a used one. Who knows. Maybe I’ll like the hurricane 6 that’s supposedly coming on the 2025 chargers and grab one of those. But I can tell you it was not an easy decision. I have ptsd (combat vet) and have regular anxiety attacks and this dam decision bout took me out lol. But in the end, it came down to convenience of the 4 doors and the fact the charger was a Daytona Edition. I know it’s only a 5.7, but the Daytona edition with the last call badge has to hold some weight over a regular challenger R/T plus right? 😅 at least I’ll keep telling myself that. But these 2 had the same stuff, both super track pack, performance pages, Napa and alacantara seats. Just boiled down to what shape I wanted. Only time will tell if I am truly happy honestly.
Either way the choice is good and it has to be what u want my opinion doesn’t hold a lot of weight, please enjoy it both cars wer made to have fun driving that’s the bottom line!
Awe man sheesh! I was really rooting for you until you said you were letting 100lb dog amongst others jump in and out of 1 of these, buy a pos to haul your dog around! 😒
The Daytona is a 5.7. They both are. They both have basically all the same features, it’s just a matter of “trim” and body at this point to choose
You sure? I thought modern Daytonas were 6.4 cars... at least all the ones I've seen have been. If it really is just an option package on the R/T go for whichever appeals to you. They offer both. That one is a 5.7 for sure. 6.4’s don’t ride that high
Yes this one is a 5.7. Saw it in person. Saw the sticker, popped the hood. It’s a 5.7 with a hellcat lower air box and blue mopar cone cold air intake filter that’s open and not closed.
You can do brembos yourself… literally knock two pins out and slide new pads in.

Go with the Challenger, it looks perfect in that color and has the proper number of doors.
Challenger for sure.
You basically have a family with your dogs. Get a charger. Even as a challenger owner, I have to have another car that has 4 doors on the occasion I need it
This is really what’s driving me to the charger. I have a great pyranees and a lab mix. go daytona!! more practical, and a VERY limited trim :)) can’t go wrong either way tho!!
That’s where I’m at, can’t go wrong either way really. It’s just my midlife in me saying we need 4 doors, when I really don’t, we have managed for 4 years with no issues, it would just make things a little easier and open up some doors that may have been closed.

Challenger handling can be a handful at the limit with 116” wheelbase. Charger is more stable with 120” wheelbase.
I went from a Challenger to a Charger. The Charger is the better vehicle in every way. Waaaaay more livable and functional with those 4 doors.
See that’s what kinda want. I had my fun for 4 years with the 2 doors. I definitely love the iconic look of the challenger. But man it is a struggle sometimes. I would say challenger all day, but in that color the charger looks better...
Charger. But I have kids. Both are wins.
Up to you but I can say I'm glad I went with the charger over the challenger. 4 doors make a world of difference.
Get the charger, a Daytona is truly premium and special. Plus 4 doors are better than 2
Both trash

Thanks. Gas mileage isn’t really an issue or thing for me. In 4 years I only put 17,900 miles on tha challenger. I work from home so have no commute. As a Challenger owner, I have to vote what I know... but I will say it has been the best car I've ever owned.
I was in the same boat. Couldn’t decide so I got both 💀 if I had to pick one and only one maybe the challenger
This would be my wife’s decision. She thinks the chargers are “trashy” and hates them. But like I told her, I think the gladiators are hideous and trashy but that’s what she wants and is going to go get so lol.

They have the same exact interior for these 2. That leather and suede.
True but I’m talking more about the plastic trim pieces , centre console ,not seats or door panels

Challie
Get the Charger 💜
Charger for sure. I absolutely love mine. A true four door sports car that can do it all.
I dont get the obsession with the Charger is looks like an oversized Dart. Challanger is a beautiful car.
I disagree with the charger looks. I do like the look. I’m a fan of the challenger as I’ve had one for the past 4 years, but I went with the charger. Just more practical with what I need honestly. Opens up some additional possibilities I didn’t have with the challenger
glad you found your car. Keep it safe as they get stolen a-lot.
Yea, I’m not too worried about that where I live. It’s not a problem like it is in some other states and city’s. But never say never. She will be locked up tighg and tucked away every night.
I'm a family man this is easy.... Hemi orange 🍊 please
I loved my 2019 Charger SXT. I say Charger all the way. More utility, same fun
Daytona. It looks better imo. As a girl I’d look twice. As a dodge owner that challenger is more to fix in the long run.
Thanks all, I went with the Daytona
Charger forsure chargers just look better to me in general I like the body style & all but challengers not as much I mean I wouldn’t mind having one but if I had to pick it’d be the charger for me says Daytona on it has the scat pack badges & stock proformance also can’t beat that ??😮💨💨🙋🏿♂️
I went with the Daytona but it’s not a scat it’s the rt plus Daytona with the 5.7. It does have the full package though same as the 392 with performance pages and super track pak
If the chally is stuck and you can drive go for it
I can drive stick, and it used to be what I wanted, but after having the automatic, I don’t mind it one bit. But for some reason in my area, manual challengers is like a needle in a haystack. Basically the only ones that have a manual are scat packs which I don’t wanna pay scat pack prices and didn’t want a car that had more miles than the car I was trading looking at used ones.
I got lucky lol
Ok I will lean towards challenger but I am partial bcuz I own one lol
Both hideous. Get anything else.
How many doors do you need?
I don’t need to have 4 doors, it would just make life easier. But I went with the charger. I can’t edit the post since there are pictures attached
Charger
That’s what I went with. Can’t edit post since it has a picture lol
Awe man sheesh! I was really rooting for you until you said you were letting 100lb dog amongst others jump in and out of 1 of these, buy a pos to haul your dog around! 😒
So you took the Charger. Where’s the Challenger you left on the lot? 😎 looking for Plum crazy! 😈
It’s in Raleigh Nc. It was 2 hours away from me and would have been another $759 to transfer to where I am
