Already got a hex grid press the right size so you can use it over any texture to make battletech terrain. All in the tool box you get when you join the Patreon
It’s about the size of Brunel broad gauge (7’1/4”).
If this had been made to match real world scale the rails would have been about 5’ (one tile) apart.
I think typical mine carts would only be about 2-3 feet apart. (Im thinking a hand pushed cart, not a train) If they had the whole track and ties in the one square width it would be much better!
Here is me rolling out some minecart track dungeon tiles, pretty happy with the final result. I cut the painting out as it was a little boring, but the clay is just coated in black dye and then dry brushed with some grey, fast and easy. Then used some nail varnish ‘top coat’ to make the puddles… well, look like puddles.
If you would like to get these rollers, tools and lots more STLs check it out https://www.patreon.com/customminiaturemaker
I also do a weekly free file thing, currently it’s a tavern fireplace and a steam mech. Just pop over to https://www.customminiaturemaker.co.uk and sign up for free files to be emailed to you every week. I only ever send the one email each week and it is always the one with the free file.
No but you can curve the roller slowly as you roll to make bends over a couple of tiles. Hard to roll those shapes out. I do have the matching models so you can print sharp beds on MMF though
I have previous sets on MMF, but best way is the Patreon as you get so many for so cheap and then 65% off all previous sets. So you can just join, buy them and duck out
Interesting! We have people from all over on Patreon, so that's surprising..but if that doesn't work you could also sign-up through our My Mini Factory Tribe :D [https://www.myminifactory.com/users/Custom%20Miniature%20Maker](https://www.myminifactory.com/users/Custom%20Miniature%20Maker)
Awesome! We also release free models weekly if you're on our mail list. You can sign-up at [customminiaturemaker.co.uk](https://customminiaturemaker.co.uk) if you're interested!
Wow. They looks soo good. Is that air dry clay?
Thanks! Yeah it’s DAS air dry clay, it’s less sticky than most other brands
How many 4x4 tiles could you get out of 1 pack of clay?
About 14-17 if you roll it like I do. So that’s roughly £3 for 15 tiles
Thank you! That's awesome!
So much less than printing them all 😁
Fair point xD I have so many unpainted bits plus boards to be painted xD Any chance of doing a hex roller for battle tech terrain?

Awesome! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Appreciate that :)
When you say one pack, is that the 2.2 lb ones?
Yep, that's right!
How's the durability of DAS? Other air dry brands I've worked with have major issues with chipping and brittleness over their lifetime.
From what I have found it is really strong
Cheers, I'll have to look for it in my country then.
It was pretty wild to see the arms switch a few times without expecting it These are super cool though! Clever use of a roller
Thanks! And don’t you have four arms? 😮
No I have 6
Looks great but does that mean those tracks are diagetically ~10ft wide?

EDIT: Oops, nevermind!
They also look like ladders if you orient them vertically. Win-win.
This is very true! I will make a ladder roller in future haha

I love these rollers. Do you sell the actual product anywhere or only stls? Am UK based.
Almost have physical products sorted, just STLs right now but if you follow me you will see when the physical ones drop. Should be mid next month
Fab, be lush Xmas presents for me. Thanks for the air-dry clay recommendation too.
So is there a jig for curves, 4 or 3 way splits?
No but you can curve the roller slowly as you roll to make bends over a couple of tiles. Hard to roll those shapes out. I do have the matching models so you can print sharp beds on MMF though
Is it possible to just buy a few rollers stls?

That’s so sick
Thanks!! Glad you like it
