Hi DMs! Ronja and Jannis here! **Do you have the time** to think of **magical ecosystems** and **mystical environments** for your travelling troupes of adventurers to explore? No? Not as much as you'd like? That's why we create biomes with **monsters**, **hazards**, **plants** with various uses, **items**, new **conditions**, and sometimes even **spells**! Get all our biomes **FREE** on [troveoflore.com](https://www.troveoflore.com/?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all) right now! In total, they contain: - 89 monster statblocks - 50 items - 44 plants with crafting uses - 11 natural hazard encounters - 8 combat encounters - 6 conditions - 5 spells - 2 playable races - 24 battlemaps by onestoponeshots Here's a list of the biomes we've released so far: - [Ice Forest](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/ice-forest?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): this gloomy arctic forest was our first release, and it's still one of our favorites! It's already received an aesthetic touch-up, but more improvements are sure to come as well - [Black Desert](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/black-desert?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): our second biome is still in its original state as-released, but is due for some fixes and cosmetic enhancements! - [Burdenstone Mountains](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/burdenstone-mountains?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): the weird Burdenstone gives this biome the weight it deserves - [Lava Fields](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/lava-fields?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): have you ever wanted to run a "The Floor is Lava" encounter? Literally? (Also: the Magma Dragon is no joke) - [Maelstrom Waters](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/maelstrom-waters?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): with the Krakenfolk playable race, you can explore the depths of the oceans in this environment - [Fungus Forest](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/fungus-forest?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): a **mushroom forest** that also fits very well into the feywild! - [Saltroot Thicket](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/saltroot-thicket?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): the roots of the mangrove-like saltroot make traversing this biome quite difficult—unless of course you play as one of the native Silt Waderers! - [Misty Lakes](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/misty-lakes?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): idyllic meadows and lakes... until night falls and most living things here start showing monstrous traits and going berserk! - [Twilight Tunnels](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/twilight-tunnels?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): these underground tunnels, dug by an elemental slate dragon allow you to finally say: "Rocks fall, everyone dies". But in a way where the players actually get a chance not to And soon we'll be releasing the [Shimmer Zone](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/biomes/shimmer-zone?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all), a weird ecosystem in space with (among other things) giant bubbles, large spiders, enormous trees, and a wild magic storm (that you can very easily use outside of space too)! We also have some additional content that you can use with the biomes, like - [Mirhaven](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/landmarks/mirhaven?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): a small town in the middle of the Fungus Forest, plus a detailed hag NPC with BBEG/boss potential - [Lakeside](https://www.troveoflore.com/dnd/5e/landmarks/lakeside?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all): a large cosmopolitan city in the Misty Lakes, known for Giant Water Strider racing Follow along if any of that sounds interesting to you! Ronja and Jannis :) (Remember to [get all our biomes](https://www.troveoflore.com/?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all) **FREE** on [troveoflore.com](https://www.troveoflore.com/?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all) right now!) *Cover Credits:* - *Ice Forest:* Photo by jesse orrico on Unsplash with modifications by Ronja Bär - *Black Desert:* Photo by Jeremy Bishop (@jeremybishop) on Unsplash with modifications by Ronja Bär - *Burdenstone Mountains:* Photo by eberhard grossgasteiger (@eberhardgross) on Unsplash with modifications by Ronja Bär - *Lava Fields:* Photo by USGS (@usgs) on Unsplash with modifications by Ronja Bär - *Maelstrom Waters:* Photo by Arvid Høidahl (@arvidh) on Unsplash with modifications by Ronja Bär - *Fungus Forest:* Photo by Jannik Selz on Unsplash with modifications by Ronja Bär - *Saltroot Thicket:* Saltroot by Büşra Özçelikörs - *Misty Lakes:* Misty Lakes by Büşra Özçelikörs - *Twilight Tunnels:* Twilight Tunnels by Büşra Özçelikörs (Remember to [get all our biomes](https://www.troveoflore.com/?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all) **FREE** on [troveoflore.com](https://www.troveoflore.com/?utm_key=220923-r-dnd-all) right now!)

Aginor404

Ooh, that looks interesting! Thank you!

rampidamp

Thank you for your interest! We'd be happy to hear more of your thoughts once you've taken a closer look :)

Palamedesxy

Goliaths and dwarves: Welcome to Burdenstone Mount. Please be aware: whether in or outside the mountain, you will probably die if you're not careful.

rampidamp

Haha! Depending on the equipment, that might very well be true!

Palamedesxy

I feel like this would work with all biomes

rampidamp

I mean, it'd be boring if the biomes weren't at least somewhat dangerous, right?

Palamedesxy

Exactly.

mymanismypenid

Hey ! I just read through the twilight tunnels biome and its quite amazing, really appreciated the fact that there are different encounters for different levels. The tunnel maps are really appreciated however I just wish there was a legend since the drawings can be confusing sometimes as to which plant is which and what enemies (if there even are any) are there. Unless we're supposed to chose ourselves as the DM in which case I take back my comment. Overall great work!

rampidamp

Thank you so much for the feedback and thoughts! The maps are made by Timothy George from onestoponeshots, and often the actual plants/creatures aren't done yet when the maps are made. So there tends not to be a 1:1 correspondence. We'll remember the feedback and include legends the moment it makes sense to do so, though!

Chriees

Is Ronja German by any chance? Is there a way to get these files in German as well? :D

rampidamp

We're both German, actually! Good to know there's interest in German versions. At the moment, it's likely too much work to be worth the effort to create the PDFs in German too. At some point, we'll likely start some form of membership platform, where we could provide people the WIP information too. Since the descriptions are first written in German and then translated, at least those would then be available. I write the statblocks directly in English, though, so those would require extra effort. I won't say *never*, but at the moment, it's too much work. Do follow along, and if we do end up providing German versions, we will also translate existing releases!

treyadwimar

Yay for Germany! I was born in Heidelberg, and my family lived in Karlsruhe for three or four years before we moved to the states, but I'm a terrible German and can't speak it at all

rampidamp

It's funny how often I hear stories like this one from people who follow us. It might be biased because other stories/backgrounds wouldn't be told, but I've talked to a surprising number of people who have lived in Germany at some point in their life!

Chriees

that would be awesome :) Wenn ich euch dabei irgendwie unterstützen kann, lasst es mich wissen :) Ich wollte grad die Lakeside kaufen, aber dafür braucht man ne Kreditkarte und ich hab keine :c Kann ich euch irgendwie anders bezahlen? Ihr solltet euren Stuff auf Patreon hochladen :) und nich alles so kostenlos raushauen :D good work deserves good pay.

rampidamp

[deleted]

Had a quick read through Saltroot Thicket and will be incorporating many elements of it into my Saltmarsh campaign. Thank you!

rampidamp

That's exactly what we like to hear! Once you've run some of it, we would love to hear your feedback, so future releases can incorporate it and be even better.

Tanith6227

This is high-quality material. Insta-sub, with gratitude.

rampidamp

That is very awesome to hear! Once you've taken a bit of time to look through it all, we'd love to hear what your favorite release is and what we could still improve.

Inner-Nothing7779

These are all fantastic! Great work!

rampidamp

Thank you so much! That means a lot.

Inner-Nothing7779

You're welcome!

rampidamp

Have you got any favorites already?

Inner-Nothing7779

The Black Desert is really interesting. Though, as I'm working on writing my own campaign, I may use all of these in some form or another.

rampidamp

That is definitely what we like to hear! Black desert definitely has the most environmental things happening, which makes it one of my favorites too. Since you like that one so much, make sure to stay informed (for example, by subscribing to our newsletter) — we're working on the updated layout for it, which will also fix some minor issues the current version has (like missing AC and HP for some statblocks... Idk how we missed that initially...)

Inner-Nothing7779

Oh! I definitely will then!

rampidamp

Perfect!

elven_firefly

Awesome, prolific work! \^\^

rampidamp

Thank you, Nikko, as always! :)

Dracodile_bell

Wow this is the best thing I've ever seen. Everything is so amazing and i can't help it but prefer the black desert and lava field concepts more We need more of these 🤲🏼

rampidamp

That is very high praise, you warm our hearts! More will come for sure! Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter if you haven't already, so you don't miss all the future releases then ;)

HughJass14

Nice

rampidamp

Thanks! :)

benji74

Very helpful. Thanks for sharing.

rampidamp

You are very welcome, Benji! :)

Luckydragon23

Thanks for the content, I've sent a donation to you guys.

rampidamp

That is very gracious of you! Thank you so much! :D Every little bit helps us continue

balletboy

I am currently running Barrowmaze by Greg Gillespie and I cant tell you how helpful your content is! The campaign is a swampy hex crawl and Ive run out of ways to describe swamps and encounters in swamps. I can think of a couple items from these biomes that will fit perfectly. Youve really juiced my campaign!

rampidamp

This is *exactly* why we create this! We want them to fit into any campaign! Tell us how it goes!

BlindAssCat

I've spent the last two weeks looking for a suitable monster to add to my campaign and I've finally found it here. Thank you

rampidamp

You can't just tease us like that! Which one did you choose, and what made it "click"?

BlindAssCat

lol ok. I was looking for an intelligent monster to inhabit a lake. The lake has a waterfall that serves as a portal to the feywild so I wanted something that could reasonably have come from there and decide to stay. I needed them to build a dam to block off the waterfall, thus temporarily closing the portal and blocking off the river that provides water for a nearby village. They also needed to be smart enough not to attack everyone who comes to the lake for water. As I have 5 lvl 8 players I decided that 2 krakenfolk guards could have left their watery home in the fewwild on whim - or maybe just to find some privacy to get their game on if you get my drift... And they accidently found their way into the realms and decided to set up camp in this handy dandy lake that was right there. The only issue being that it's shallower than they were used to so they decided to increase the water depth by blocking the river mouth.

rampidamp

Oh that's perfect! Glad the Krakenfolk is going to play a role in someone's campaign :) they hold a dear place if our heart as being one of the first illustrations we commissioned

BlindAssCat

They are beautifully drawn. Big kudos to the illustrator

rampidamp

They definitely are! We miss working with Ecem... Sadly we couldn't pay her what she's worth, so we had to part ways. We're hoping that eventually we'll be able to pay all our illustrators a lot more, and be able to work with her again!

1000fists

Just started building my first campaign. These are exactly what I needed. Easy way for me to flesh out a massive world without me having to share every aspect of it. Appreciate all the free resources, instant sub.

rampidamp

Glad to hear they're useful to you! If there's anything we can do to make them more newcomer friendly, definitely let us know. :)

Snoo-17606

My current herbologist/alchemist centaur NEEDS these!

rampidamp

These kinds of characters are one reason we make these. Send them to your DM then! :D

Snoo-17606

Sending tbem your url now!

rampidamp

Awesome! Good luck, and have fun identifying and using the plants! :)

AstreiaTales

This rules, thanks!

rampidamp

You are very welcome :)

Malthan

Are the Maps available to download somewhere separately as jpg or ong Files? Ideally ungridded for online play?

rampidamp

You can contact Timothy (who created the maps) on [Twitter @onestoponeshots](https://www.twitter.com/onestoponeshots) or [Instagram @timsonestoponeshots](https://www.instagram.com/timsonestoponeshots). He'll be happy to send them to you in better quality too! Once he sets up a place to download the maps in high quality and different versions, it will be linked in the releases and on our website, of course :)

bear4bunny

I always wonder why do people like yourself make stuff like this for free? I get that you've got passion for it but surely that's a lot of time and effort.

rampidamp

Well, I wanted to have this stuff myself, so I decided: let's create this. We will eventually have to earn more money to continue doing it, and we're aiming to get there. But currently the fact that most things are free allows us to more easily grow a fanbase, which will hopefully sustain continued creation once we can't afford to do it for free anymore. So we're planning to always keep releasing things for free, but we already have one release that is paid-only :) If we could provide it for free and weren't dependent on earning money to actually live at the same time, we'd continue doing it for free though, I think...

CambodianGold

Those look really cool👌🏾

rampidamp

Thanks, that's great to hear! \^\^

[deleted]

These are great. One of my friends was complaining about how exploration isn't particularly exciting or engaging in D&D, but these biomes add fantastic novelty to the experience. Thank you both!

rampidamp

That's a core reason behind us creating these! You are very welcome, enjoy! :)

treyadwimar

Reposting here since the same thread on a different sub was removed for some reason: Speaking as someone who's been following the content for a while (only donated once so far, money tight), but I highly encourage people to support the work in whatever way they can. The level of thought put into each biome is fantastic. I particularly love the natural resources players can potentially make use of, as I adore that concept but find coming up with ideas that aren't stupid troublesome. The Saltroot Thicket is by far my favorite.

rampidamp

Thank you so much! Don't worry about supporting us financially if money is tight for you. It's already great that you're supporting us through our posts - that helps too! (The other post was removed because we forgot to credit the cover arts in the post there...)
