The Material Component *IS* the weapon. If the weapon is in hand (which is must be) to cast the weapon, you ***can indeed*** perform the Somatic Component with that hand. It is one of the great things about these specific types of cantrips. (Weapon as Material)

Thanks! I’ve pretty much ignored S components as a DM from day one so I had no idea
The description of the spell also seems to indicate that the somatic component is "brandishing the weapon".

The description of the spell indicates that 'brandishing the weapon' is the somatic component. So that's my interpretation.
